What's on your plate?

Hello there, ladies and gents!

Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:

"What's on your plate?"

The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!

For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.

Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water.

For lunch today, I had:

-Brown rice

-Steamed egg

-Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper

-Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens)

Now, tell me, Beauty Talk world, what do you have? 😄

Re: What's on your plate?

@CynthieLu  The classic Velveeta and Rotel cheese queso.  I usually add some chipotle en adobo for some extra kick.  We also make chicken wings (one son has been honing his skills with this and guac,) and fried Italian breadsticks with salt. It's not a night for the faint of heart or stomach. 🙂  But at least there's no sugar?

Re: What's on your plate?

Sounds delicious! I love yummy dips for chips too. 🤤

@Ispend2much6 We're trying a new one for our New Years snack spread. It's a Street Corn flavoured dip, I wish we had your homemade chips to go along side 😉

Re: What's on your plate?

@CynthieLu  It's really easy.  The only thing is it needs to be reheated after awhile.

Oh, I wonder if that's the dip a friend brought over this summer.  It was made with corn, cilantro, lime, sour cream or cream cheese, and cojita?  If so, you are in for a treat!

Re: What's on your plate?

I'm really excited to try it @Ispend2much6 my son picked it out. I think it is similiar to what your describing. I bet it'll be tasty! We have similiar New Years plans I think? Lots of snacks and treats with games and some movies. 🎆🎇

Re: What's on your plate?

@CynthieLuYes, our NYE plans sound cozy and fun. 🙂  I've had a few exciting and fancy NYE's in my past, but all the time I was hoping I would have someone to share them with and now I do. 💕

Re: What's on your plate?

Some of those ginger bread men were pilled high with candy, these were the more modest of the bunch. 😉 @Ispend2much6 lol. But the kiddos had fun decorating them wild and that was pretty fun to watch. 🍪

Re: What's on your plate?

Re: What's on your plate?

Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day

The great thing about having my family around for the holidays is all the food! I’m a decent home cook but I can’t hold a candle to my mom’s knowledge of traditional Filipino dishes or my dad’s culinary mastery in the kitchen. They do a mix of traditional and non-traditional dishes during the holidays.

Christmas Eve - Jambalaya (forgot to take a photo!)

Christmas Day - Roast Beef, Ham, and Veggies, Pancit (Filipino stir-fried noodles)

Boxing Day - We decided to eat out together on their last day in town and get some quick shopping in before heading to the airport. Korean Hot Pot, Bibimbap, Japchae
