What's on your plate?

Hello there, ladies and gents!

Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:

"What's on your plate?"

The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!

For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.

Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water.

For lunch today, I had:

-Brown rice

-Steamed egg

-Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper

-Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens)

Now, tell me, Beauty Talk world, what do you have? 😄

Re: What's on your plate?

This looks so good @Mellmars1185! I’ve been having more soup lately - it’s getting colder for us - and adding veggies to my soup. I miss salads though. May need to put that on my meal prep for workweek lunches. Those avocados look delicious! 🥑

Re: What's on your plate?

@itsfi Thanks! I made up the recipe. The base of the salad is chopped kale, cabbage, cucumber, pumpkin seeds and feta. I made the dressing in a blender with olive oil, lime juice, cilantro, avacodo, garlic, salt and pepper. I topped with half an avacodo!

Re: What's on your plate?

@Mellmars1185 ,

This sounds and looks so delicious!

Re: What's on your plate?

@tsavorite Thankk you! 🥰

Re: What's on your plate?

Nom, nom, nom 😋 That’s a good mix of textures in your salad - crunchy, creamy and flavors too. Great job @Mellmars1185

Re: What's on your plate?

This looks soo fresh and delicious 😊 @Mellmars1185 💚 and healthy, that's a win win!

Re: What's on your plate?

@CynthieLu Thank you! It was surprisingly tasty!

Re: What's on your plate?

That's really good @Mellmars1185  tasty wins! And avocados just make everything extra yummy imo. 😉🥑

Re: What's on your plate?

@Mellmars1185 @Looks delicious

My first time making Lasagna soup. All the flavours of lasagna with far less effort. Lasagna ingredients go into a pot with some chicken stock until everything’s cooked!

Re: What's on your plate?

@JoSometimes looks delicious,  you gave me an idea for dinner this week.  Thanks

Re: What's on your plate?

@JoSometimes I love lasagna soup

Re: What's on your plate?

@CorgiMommy It was my first time making it and a great way to use up a partial box of leftover lasagna noodles. 😋

Re: What's on your plate?

You’re welcome! I hope it works out for you @CorgiMommy

Re: What's on your plate?

@JoSometimes Sounds like an easy, delicious meal. I need some more inspiration for after work meals. Such a smart idea!

Re: What's on your plate?

@Mellmars1185 Yes! It’s so tiring to have to keep working after getting home from work. I need more quick and easy recipes.

Re: What's on your plate?

@JoSometimes Last year I bought a meal planning book. I would plan my meals out a week or two in advance and use my cook books or past meal box recipes for  inspiration. It would help me make a better planned grocery list. I need to get back into it. It made my life easier. I find I don't make the best decisions when I am hangry lol

Re: What's on your plate?

@Mellmars1185 I tried something like that too and it didn’t stick. I tend to cook whatever I’m in the mood for.

Re: What's on your plate?

Oooh simple and delicious? This checks a lot of my boxes @JoSometimes. And with cheese?? Ok ok I'm sold. 🍽😁

Re: What's on your plate?

@CynthieLu I have social media to thank for the idea! After I sautéd the beef, everything just went into the pot and simmered until the noodles were cooked. So easy!
