Hello there, ladies and gents!

 

Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:

 

"What's on your plate?"

 

The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!

 

For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.

 

Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water.

 

For lunch today, I had:

 

-Brown rice

-Steamed egg

-Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper

-Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens)

I grew up eating durian, so I have to show some love for the durian moon cakes with salted egg yolks :smileyvery-happy:

I don't even want to think about duck eggs after last year.  Middle sis was pregnant so some of the family sent eggs for her.  Dragon year, bigger is better, a bucket of huge swan eggs instead of duck.

I'm about to go nuts with all the Autumn stuff in the air!!! Love it!!!

 

Gimme pumpkins, soups, squash, apples, cider, cinnamon...gimme!!!!!

I had some kale with nutritional yeast, garlic, lemon, olive oil, black pepper & celtic sea salt. Then I had celery sticks dipped in Annie's Organic Goddess Dressing. NOM NOM.

Then some chocolate.

i've had apple butter cooking away in my crock pot for the past few hours... my house smells divine! it won't be done until around 9 pm, then i'll can it :smileyhappy: next i'm going to try my hand at peach butter! and tonight for dinner i'm making a lasagne :smileyhappy: 

 

i seriously love the fall. i come alive as soon as the weather starts to change :smileyhappy: i seriously think i suffer from sad in the summer haha. i HATE the sun! as soon as fall rolls around i'm like a completely different person :smileyhappy:

i found the recipe online... i'll pm you the link :smileyvery-happy: it turned out so dang good! i added a bit more of the chinese 5 spice than it called for, but i also had to cut the recipe in half because my crock pot can't hold 8lbs of apples all at once haha. it turned out so dang good!

Very asian today.

 

Breakfast - a peach

Lunch - Pad Thai (+ boston creme pie, ok not so asian here)

Dinner - kimchi dumpling (+moon cake)

 

+ jasmine tea through out the day.

I had diem sum yesterday and my friends and I loaded up on 4 pots of chrysanthemum tea!

Today I had a croissant breakfast sandwich and an enchilada with veggie rice and black beans. I think for dinner I'll make myself a greek salad and tofu stir fry with jasmine rice. My allergies are killer today so I've been consuming lots of guava tea.

Speaking of moon cake, pandan mooncakes are going to be dangerous to my waist line!

I beat you to the dangerous waist line! I ate 2 moon cakes yesterday, normal/palm size ones, by myself. Today's emergency measure is to share with co-worker, so I only ate half by myself. =X

i threw some chicken in the crock pot, poured a bottle of thai peanut sauce over it and a bit of peanut butter, then added some edamame, leeks, water chestnuts and broccoli slaw at the end and served it over chow mein noodles. soo good :smileyhappy:

Peanut noodles are delish, and with the crock pot I'm sure all the rich flavor simmered in even more to the meat and veggies!

it was SO good! next time i'll add less sauce to it, but other than that it was a very successful experiment!

Ooooo, and you can roast/toast the edamame too and use that to top off the dish when you serve it up for some crunch!
