What's on your plate?

Hello there, ladies and gents!

Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:

"What's on your plate?"

The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!

For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.

Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water.

For lunch today, I had:

-Brown rice

-Steamed egg

-Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper

-Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens)

Now, tell me, Beauty Talk world, what do you have? 😄

Re: What's on your plate?

Congrats to your BF for his new job (sometimes it makes all the difference in the world to just change the atmosphere and scene with coworkers to bring the best out in everyone).

Medium rare.....YES!

I like the huge knife as scale for the thickness of that steak!

Re: What's on your plate?

I just saw your comment! Thank you for the congratulations 😄 The BF is so excited. He wiill be starting on December 1st but he is already working with his new team to catch up on products and stuff.

That steak was the thickest and biggest i have had, for sure. I am amazed at how well it came out 🙂

Re: What's on your plate?

I'm STILL drooling at the steak.

Re: What's on your plate?

Preheat 430 degree oven for dark bakeware/stoneware (I like to preheat my earthenware). 435 degree for metal pans

1c whole milk plus a generous splash of white vinegar, set aside to curdle.

2c all purpose flour

3 t baking powder

1/4 t baking soda

3/4 t salt

whisk together.

Use a fork to crumb up 1/2 stick of butter into dry mix. Add your "buttermilk", carefully move the flour into the milk until it starts to bind together to a slightly sticky but firm dough. Don't over work the mix.

Butter your pan of choice. I use a 9x9 earthenware casserole to drop the whole dough in as a "loaf".

Can make either cut or drop biscuits. Bake for around 22 minutes either way.

If doing cheese, take out at 20 and toss cheese on your "loaf". It is less fussy than adding cheese INTO the dough and having to test for doneness for the next six to eight minutes while you burn the biscuit bottoms.

Mix can also do monkey bread, just ball up the dough into quarter sized knots, roll in melted butter and your sugar cinnamon blend of choice and throw in the pan to bake.

Re: What's on your plate?

I luff bread!!!!!! ^_^

Re: What's on your plate?

Ooh that sounds great!

Re: What's on your plate?

I made cheater-chicken pot pie last night. Cooked up some chicken in a pan and boiled some cubed potatoes, carrots, and peas. Then added them into a pot with a can of cream of chicken soup with 1/3 of that can with some milk, mixed it all together, plopped into a 9x13 baking dish, rolled a sheet of butter cresent roll dough over it, into the oven for about 20 mins.

BAM! I just ate 1/4th of that for lunch.

Re: What's on your plate?

It was just one of those days when we all needed some comfort food so we made

Broccoli and cheddar soup

Red Lobster's Cheddar Bay Biscuits - we actually love these but don't really like the other food there as much so we saw a box of the mix for these at the grocery store.  They turned out exactly like the ones in the restaurant!
