What companies have you gotten samples from?

I just wanna ask what companies give out free samples when you contact them. I only know of Mario Badescu and L'occitane. :smileyhappy:

Who doesn't love free samples anyway? :smileyhappy:

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

Day 4 was another empty mailbox day for me.

Here's the things that came on Day 5 and Day 6.

Samples Day 5 and 6.jpgThierry Mugler (Angel x2, Alien, and a scented body lotion, with a handwritten note! This may be the one I'm most excited about), Katie Perry Killer Queen (this one I got from signing up for samples on facebook), Murad (look at how big those samples are!!!  I'm really excited about this one too as they have a blemish and wrinkle reducer combo product, really want to see how it will work for me, and there's enough there to try!), Colorescience (tons of different primers and foundation foil packs and a mineral powder), Thymes (body lotion), Restorsea (another one I really, really want to see if it works. I'm not sure if these foil packs will be enough to know, but I got a survey request from their site and am getting 2 full-sized products worth $295 for filling out the survey!), Juice Beauty (cleansers, moisturizers, serums), Weleda (eye cream and body oil but their package was damaged in the mail! so might have had more), and Sabon (foot cream and body lotion--never replied to me, just sent stuff).

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

Very nice!! Can't wait for mine to start coming in. Have you noticed you don't hear back from companies during the weekend?

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

I had a couple of companies reply back on Saturday, but most were on Monday.

New yeses today--Clarins (very generous! sending me lots of skin stuff and I asked about a lip gloss they said no on that but are sending me lipstick instead) and derma e (if I pay for shipping)

BTW--I've been joining the promotional newsletters/e-mail lists for every site I visit.  I know sometimes companies randomly send samples to people who do. I got a survey request from Restorsea and am getting two full-sized products worth $295 according to them for completing the survey.  So joining the mailing lists is definitely worth it!

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

Do you just sign up for their email updates or do you make an account (with all your info)? Websites seem to have both options and I wonder what is more likely to net you samples. Thanks!

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

I usually sign up for a full account (as long as it's a site I trust) because then they have your shipping address to mail things.

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

Odd- Derma E didn't ask me to pay for shipping?

I know!  The different responses always make me ponder.  Some people get yeses, some noes, some yes if you pay for shipping, some yes if you pay a small fee.  I don't get it!

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

Yes's from Dermatologica, Murad, Laundress (Siren you tempted me with this one!), Weleda

No's from OCC, Jane Iredale (asked about lipstick specifically)

I got 3  large foil samples and a small bottle of hairspray.

Foil samples, although they were a decent sized foil.  You can see pictures of mine and a few other peoples further down and on the next page.  Mine are in the back left of my first photo.

New yeses today--ANNE SEMONIN and Dr. Brandt (they originally told me no, but I asked some follow-up questions and they changed their mind!)

I also asked for the for the Anti-Frizz line so I got the shampoo, conditioner, hair serum, nourishing cream and the 5-in-1 perfect hair day styling cream.

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

They sent me the Anti-Frizz shampoo, conditioner, and styling cream as well as shampoo and conditioner from the Restore line.

I specifically asked for the Anti-Frizz line, and that's what they sent me in the shampoo, conditioner, and style cream.  They also sent me Restore Target Repair Cream because I said my hair is dry.

I've been looking for some new skincare but was hesitant to try anything without sampling first so this was a great thread for me to find.

I got a yes from

Mario Bedescu

REN

Juice Beauty

Koh Gen Do

Living Proof (I'm always on the hunt for new hair care)

I'll post a picture when I actually get the samples in.

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

Excited after the flurry of emails I got this afternoon!

Yes's from:

Dr. Hauschka

Clarins

Derma E

Aubrey

Paula's Choice

DermOrganic

Nia24

No's from:

Fekkai

DDF

FAB

Can't wait to start getting these in the mail! This doesn't feed my skincare obsession at all...

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

Day 2 I got nothing, which surprised me since I got so much Day 1.

Here's what I got Day 3!

samples day 3.jpg

The Laundress (VERY generous 8 samples), Tammy Fender (the shipping I paid for 8 samples was for little foil packets but in a huge box, ridiculous shipping, oh well), Eponce (deluxe size), and NeoStrata (deluxe size).

I'm quite impressed with the Laundress too. Very fast response and the co-owner personally contacted the Canadian distributor for me. The distributor sent out the samples that day and even included a list of retailers near me.

New yeses today--Hanae Mori Parfums (I am SO excited to try this one as Butterfly has been recommended to me by several people and I've never been able to find it to try it), Naturopathica,
and Emerginc

Re: What companies have you gotten samples from?

Even though sephora.com offers 3 samples at checkout, having worked in a physical store, the stores only get a set supply of pre-made samples at the beginning of each quarter.  And we would usually run out in less than a month.  However, remember that an associate can make you a sample of anything liquid or cream that you'd like to try.  Color (makeup) products are harder, since most aren't liquid (i.e. eyeshadow, etc.) but anything that you'd likely want to try first, like moisturizers, face washes, foundation, etc., just ask and they can make you your own sample!  :smileyhappy:
