Can you remember how flying was before 9/11?  I could arrive at the airport 30 minutes before my flight and be OK.  If it wasn't for my status, I would miss out on those extra minutes of sleep...

Security was a breeze, no taking off shoes or jackets.  No worry about liquids, gels, scissors or Swiss Army knives.  I still think its iod that I can take full size metal knitting needles on board but a guy can't have a Swiss Army knife.

I flew to Venice, Italy a couple of months before 9/11.  Scariest airport I have ever been too!  First the plane just stopped after landing, dropped the stairs and you walked to the airport itself.  When we all went inside their military was there to greet us with their machine guns and German Shepard's barking the whole time while we waited for our luggage to arrive.

I have flown once since then to NYC- completely different nowadays.  But I am happy to go through the security so long as they are doing their jobs appropriately.

btw- how can you not smile at Richard Simmons!

I just bought the Dyson Hot/cold fan.  I'm really hoping it does a good job heating our family room!  The fan part is insignificant to me right now.

I thought about that one, but I don't mind the cold as much....not that it gets very cold here

I had a bunch of reward points with Best Buy, so though - why not?  Yes - it doesn't have that buffeting effect that other fans have...it's a very smooth air flow, but I don't it gets as cold as others.  I hope the heating is better on that one than the cooling.

I can understand the fan being a flop.  But I have an addiction to Dyson's products.  They are AMAZING.  Whenever I use a restroom that has their hand dryers I squeal with delight.  I love my Dyson vacuum so much I would marry it.  :smileyvery-happy:

4. i don't have one bc i can't get away with wearing a bracelet.

5. its been a long time since i've had bubblegum. back in the day i liked hubba bubba.

6. fall! i'm not a huge fan of cold weather. i like being able to walk comfortably outside and take my kids to the playground.

Me too. I was in 2nd grade when the challenger crashed. I was home with chicken pox. It was the first news story I was interested in.

Re: Wednesday Questions!

I remember the Challenger - we watched it for science class..so horrifying to see at that age

Re: Wednesday Questions!

I was in Home Ec and a kid stopped in and told us what happened.  No one believed him.  A few minutes later our principal came over the PA and told everyone what happened.  Living in Houston at the time it was especially difficult because NASA is such a part of the culture.  Even now when I've taken the tour of Johnson Space Center and the tram stops at the Memorial Grove the sense of loss is palpable.  I don't think I've ever made it threw without a few tears.

1.) what is the most ridiculous amount of money you've spent on any one thing, that you felt was not worth it? I think it was a bag, I'm not the best in handling them with care and I instantly regretted it and returned it

2.) since today is 9/11, do you remember where you were when you heard about the attack? I was walking to high school and I walked into class and saw the attack on tv. I thought it was a movie and could not believe what I was seeing

3.) whats one beauty product you love, and you are surprised when other people say they don't like? Hmm this is a good question, self tanner>? I feel like a lot of people do not like the smell or formula. Just like with any beauty product you have to find the one that works best for you.

4.) Do you have a pandora bracelet?Nope, they look really cute though

5.) Best kind of bubblegum? Peach!

6.) Pick one! Fall or winter! Winter:smileyhappy:

Re: Wednesday Questions!

Yay, thanks for doing these.

1. What is the most ridiculous amount of money you've spent on any one thing, that you felt was not worth it?

I have bought a pair of shoes or two that I wore a few times and had them die on me, always disappointing.

2. Since today is 9/11, do you remember where you were when you heard about the attack?

I was at home, getting ready for school (8th grade). We then went to school and then were evacuated because they were landing planes in our city (the Yukon, Canada) because they weren't able to land in Alaska. I remember walking home and watching the fighter jets escorting this GIANT plane over our city.

3. Whats one beauty product you love, and you are surprised when other people say they don't like?

Oh people are so different in their likes and dislikes. I know that one thing that works for someone may not work for me and vice versa. I love BadGal lash but know it isn't everyone's fave, and that's alright.

4. Do you have a pandora bracelet? if so, what's your favorite charm?

No.

5. Best kind of bubblegum?

Anything cinnamon.

6. Pick one! Fall or winter!

Fall! Just a little cooler than summer with less rain than winter.

1. When my son started kindergarten, his step dad took him shoe shopping and bought him these suede Nikes that were $100. I didn't spend the money myself but it was an expense I thought was exorbitant for a pair of shoes for a 5 year old!

2. I was 9 months pregnant with my youngest and was at the federal building filing for a new social security card cuz pregnant brain, I had misplaced my wallet. There was mass panic. I lived in a bigger city at the time where there is an army base and I had to drive down the rode by the base to get home but it was closed. Most streets were closed in the area I was in. I was terrified. Luckily a cop took pity on me and escorted me home.

3  Argan oil. I love that stuff!

4 no

5  I don't chew gum

6  both!

Re: Wednesday Questions!

1.) Hmm... not really coming up with anything here, honestly! I'm not really an impulse buyer, even when it comes to makeup- I research everything!

2.) I was in school, in the 8th grade. Our principal made the (foolish, in my opinion) decision to hide the news from all of the students. Middle schoolers are smart enough to figure out that something is going on when the teachers keep crying, and we kept getting incorrect information from other classmates who managed to sneak on the internet, etc. I still feel angry, 12 years later, that they chose to hide this from us until we left school at 3pm- I think we were old enough to be told the truth, and the rumors we received throughout the day only made our fear worse.

3.) I can't come up with anything for this one either!

4.) Nope!

5.) Bubblemint :smileyhappy:

6.) Definitely fall. Love Halloween, pumpkins, the cooler air, leaves :smileyhappy:

1.) what is the most ridiculous amount of money you've spent on any one thing, that you felt was not worth it?

Hmmm.. I think any regrets like that I've just pushed way back in my mind because I don't recall any that stand out haha.

2.) since today is 9/11, do you remember where you were when you heard about the attack?

I was 11 and at school, in my Social Studies class I believe.

3.) whats one beauty product you love, and you are surprised when other people say they don't like?

Lip primer. I swear by my UD Lip Primer Potion. A lot of people just think it's glorified lip balm but it really helps my lipstick stay even longer.

4.) Do you have a pandora bracelet? if so, what's your favorite charm?

I don't have one. Not even sure what it is.

5.) Best kind of bubblegum?

5 Gum in the blue pack. Cobalt I believe?

6.) Pick one! Fall or winter!

Winter! Cold snuggly weather, holidays, my birthday, snow trips!

Re: Wednesday Questions!

1.  It's always makeup.  Lately I have gotten better about returning things insterad of holding onto all sorts of regret!

2.  I was in 8th grade and I was in Biology.  We watched it on TV like all day once word got out about what had happened.

3.  Covergirl Mascara.  I have always liked most of their formulas and I love the Lash Blast line that a lot of people don't seem too fond of.

4.  I have two!  I love Pandora they go with everything.  On one I have all purples charms and the other I have all black and white.  I can't pick a favorite I love them all.  I also have three rings from Pandora and they are great quality and go with everything as well.

5.  I can't chew gum, I have TMJ.

6.  I can't pick I love them both.  I am a cold weather girl all the way.
