Hey guys, I love to learn new tips and I started this thread to learn your personal tricks. I'll start it off with a couple of mine.
!. Buy a cheap but densly packed brush and dip it in oily make-up remover. Once it dries, it will spread your color on thicker and eliminate the need for primer.
2. Mix together lotion and highlighter for a gorgeous moisturizing shine. You can also add some strong sunscreen for great and beautiful sun protection.
3. Don't want to shell out the 20some odd dollars for a lip scrub? Make your own by adding coarse brown sugar and honey, for some great flavor add vanilla powder.
I have a lot of other tips, but I'll see how people like this topic first!
P.S. A free heart to anyone who posts![]()

I put a little bit of olive oil on my lashes (with a Q-Tip) to help 'em grow and keep 'em moisturized. They have actually gotten longer and thicker, believe it or not.
A little lemon juice + sunlight = some nice highlights for you, but most people know that one.
I do the DIY lip scrub thing too, but I use regular white sugar, olive oil, and honey.
Make your own cucumber... thing (kind of a mask?) by throwing some plain yogurt, a little less than 1/2 a cucumber, egg whites, and a little honey. Leave it on your face for about 10 minutes and wash off. It's very refreshing ![]()

Fun tips! I don't have too many but here are a few I like to use:
*Brown sugar and a shower gel for your own body scrub that keeps your skin hydrated
*Vinegar in the hair as a quick rinse to add softness and shine
*Skittles are great lip colors and lip stains... random lol
*Blast your eyeliner or lash curler with a QUICK blast of heat from your hair dryer for a lasting curl and softer liner. (test it before you put them on your eyes please!)
*Coconut oil is an effective and cheap makeup remover

-lemon juice gets rid of zits super fast! its one of the reasons i have semi-clear skin, but i just ran out![]()
-after you dye your hair, or do a lice treatment, grab your conditioner and apply ALL over your hair, and leave for a day and 2 nights, and itll make your hair stuper soft!!! it works really good if you leave it on during the day, even if you go out! just put it in a ponytail and let the ponytial get all curly, and the top will be slicked back. it looks really cute!
-if your hair is thinning: only apply conditioner to the ends of your hair, never to the scalp, which clogs your scalp pores, limiting hair growth. Then get a normal old laser pointer from a drug store and move it up and down and all around on your scalp to stimulate hair growth.
-the laser pointer trick also helps tighten skin, so do that on your face and body to tighten skin, to look more youthfull instead of saggy :/

When I wear a red lip, I always use concealer on and around my lips so the color stays and doesn't bleed. Then I apply the color and take a kleenex ( using only 1 ply) and powder with translucent powder. Sometimes I will do this step a couple times.

I've never heard of your #1 but have heard and do #2 and 3. Somehow I am under the impression that high end brand stuff are obviously better than homemade, but I have a budget, and the more all-natural or organic you get, the more you can totally make them yourself.
1. brown sugar, olive oil, lemon zest, and honey scrub. That's pretty much the gist of Fresh Brown Sugar Scrub (except for honey, which I add because it's good for combo skin). I originally made it as a lip scrub, but ended up also using it as a face scrub during desperate winter days when I'm snowed in and my skin became dry/sensitive.
2. Lip balm for dry spots on the face. One of the properties of combination skin is that my face gets dry/flaky spots, but I don't get it in large enough area or often enough to warrant buying a moisturizer. When I'm just done applying face moisturizer, I apply lotion to hand and before it dries, I press the palm to my cheek. When I'm outside with no access to cream/moisturizer/lotion of any kind, I just rub lip balm on the spot then blend it out.
3. make your own loose powder shadows. I have this specific shade of peach in mind for eyeshadow and of course Sephora doesn't read my mind or carry the exact shade, so I scraped some powder blush, gold eyeshadow and bronze eyeshadow in a Sephora sampler pot, crush with end of my make up brush, stir with toothpick and adjust until I get the shade I like.

I use baby powder in my roots when my hair isnt clean, as I dont wash it everyday. I sometimes use pinkish lip coor if I need a blush and I dont have any on me when Im out. I love the lip polish scrub idea, buying lip scrub isnt one of those things I feel the need to splurge on, but it does make a difference. I think Ill make some tomorrow. Maybe Ill add strawberries too.
Hearts for all!!!

I use my concealer as a lip primer sometimes. It gives you a natural base and makes the lip product stay.

My favorite beauty in the bath tricks are simple just cheaper ways to pamper yourself. I make a body sugar scrub with 2 cups brown sugar, 2 tablespoons almond oil and a drop or 2 of essential oils. My fav is lavender, lemon and rosemary, smells great. Nice way to exfoliate and moisturize in the shower. My other tip is just a cup of powdered milk in the bath tub, leaves skin soft. I also will make a paste with powdered milk and water and put that on my face. Its great for irritated skin. I

I also make my own lip scrubs. In addition to sugar and honey, I actually put in strawberries! It is an exfoliant and it has other benefits as well because its a fruit, but also it makes it taste really yummy!

Hi there! ![]()
1) A little bit of olive oil to the skin hydrates and evens out skin tone
2) A few drops of lemon on the hair during the summer naturally lightens it
3) Drinking LOTS AND LOTS of water to keep hydrated, but also provide clear and fresh looking skin!

-Sometimes I will use a lip-pencil for a soft eyeshadow base on my eyes. As well if i have a cheap-o eyeliner that tugs too much when applying I will lite a match under it for a few seconds which melts it.
-When my eyes have bags under them I'll sometimes put frozen peas or other frozen things on them to reduce their swelling.
-I use corn starch in my hair when I don't have any dry shampoo as an alternative! Luckily I have very blonde/ashy hair to begin with so if I don't brush it enough in it doesn't look like I have powder in my hair.
-I make my own lipscrub but with olive oil and normal white sugar! But your honey and brown sugar scrub sounds really nice!

I use Bragg's organic apple cider vinegar to spot treat any pimples that pop up! Just dip a Q-tip in and apply it to the pimple a couple times. I also create my own toner using the apple cider vinegar and green tea. Take one part (cooled down) green tea and one part ACV. Store it in the fridge and apply it as a nightly toner. The ACV acts as a natural antiseptic (great for acne and preventing acne) and the green tea calms redness, plus it has antioxidants to help fight free-radicals that age your skin. Ever since using this toner, I have gotten so many compliments how my skin has cleared up and glows! I dont even use foundation anymore. I don't need it!
