New Makeup Organization!

Hey guys!  I just came back from The Container Store because I wanted to reorganize my makeup.  I had been keeping my makeup stash in a disorganized clutter in my bathroom, but I've been concerned that the humidity from the shower is bad for my makeup.  Here's my new organizational system (the one on the right is from The Container Store):

Love the drawer system maltipoo66!

I currently store all of my products in a linens closet by my bathroom. My lipsticks and lashes live in a mini drawer that I got from Target. All of my nail supplies and polishes live in my bathroom in different gift boxes that I have recieved over the years. The vast majority of my things live in a traincase that is literally filled to capacity! The top trays hold mostly liners and shadows; the bottom part of the case is kind of nightmare-ish holding all of my foundations, blushes, and palettes.

I'm so overdue for a new storage solution it's not even funny. I eventually want to have a vanity set up with one of those tall narrow drawer systems next to it. I really like to have places for everything, it just makes finding things easier. Besides getting ready at a vanity or desk would sure beat hunching over a mirror in my awkward little bathroom everyday!

I also have a bathroom to myself and have a 4 tier acrylic makeup organizer that I love that looks similiar to the one seen on "Keeping Up with the Kardashians."  You can find them on ebay.  I love that I can see all my makeup and can separate them by lips, face, and eyes.  Hopefully Sephora will come out with one.

Hi maltipoo66, I like those ideas! Being single I have the whole bathroom to myself and have 3 drawers dedicated to my stash. they are sorted by use like cheeks, lips, eyeshadows, but I need more space for all the little samples from the wonderful Sephora.

I love it I definitely need to invest in some more makeup storage options, right now I have a mini 3 drawer chest like yours on the left to hold eyeshadows, but also two full traincases and a mini shelf to hold skincare and tools.  I really love the way some people have set up their makeup and my next investment I hope to do is make a nail polish rack! Hopefully I can hang one on the wall to hold all my polish without worrying it will crash down.. lol

It looks awesome!!  It also looks like you've made some good usage dents in your products, too. 

@dianabt  A nail polish rack would be amazing! lol.  I've seen pictures of them on Instagram and all of the polish some of them hold.

Nice!! I really need to do something like this...my collection is out of control, and I have it stored in random places: smaller boxes, a trunk case, on my dresser...and generally strewn about. Eek!

It looks great! The purpose is to keep things together and makes finding things easier, so it looks like you are doing a good job!

I actually have 2 separate locations. I put all the back up skincare and make up (unopened or used once), in a sephora bag in my linen closet. For stuff I use everyday, I put on the dresser.

I also have a little 3 shelve box. Top shelve: clean make up brushes and rollerball perfumes. Middle: individual or travel size eye/lip make up and palletes. Bottom: blush, bronzer, luminizer and special occasion make up (red lipstick etc). On top of the box, I have the powder, tinted moisturizer and lip stuff I frequently use.

Besides the shelve box I have the SPF moisturizers. Out on the counter, I have a cup of brushes/mascara/curler I'm currently using, a mirror plate with deluxe and perfume samples, and categorized samples (eye, SPF, serum, cleanser, make up) in a 6 compartment plastic tray that I got from some random Asian snacks with 6 flavors of individually packaged something (thus divided into 6 compartment.

It works for me. I clean up in the bathroom, apply SPF, apply light make up from top of the shelf and brush cup, then go. At night, I pick a sample packet to try. When I'm almost done with something or want to buy something from Sephora, I check the closet for my inventory then purchase.

Very cool!

Right now I use a caboodle for makeup storage, a tokidoki bag (I think it's the savannah carry all) for makeup I use, a tote that contained a shampoo, conditioner, and 2 other little conditioners from joico for nail polish, and embarrassingly, a Sephora vinyl reusable tote & the case from the 2012 sun safety kit for samples/travel sized items.
