Beauty Talk Lingo

I just realized that MUFE stood for Make Up Forever. I kept thinking, "what is this MUFE brand everyone keeps talking about?"  Boy, do I feel like an idiot!  Anyway, what are some other abbreviations and phrases that get used on the boards here that newbies (or semi-newbies like myself) should know?

I've seen HG used for both Holy Grail AND Hourglass.

BM= bareMinerals (sometimes I call it BE because it used to be Bare Essentials)

JM= Josie Maran

I use TF (Too Faced) all the time because 1. I'm obsessed and 2. I'm lazy :smileyvery-happy:

these might be obvious but BB cream - beauty balm and CC cream is color corrector

The one I'm still not 100% sure about is either OC or OP. I assume it's something like original poster? Or original content? I think it was referring to the person who started a message/board.

Re: Beauty Talk Lingo

I mean original poster whenever I use the term op.  I would assume oc means original contributor or original content.

Re: Beauty Talk Lingo

Yup, from my years floating around on the internets, OP usually meant original poster.

OOS (Out of Stock) stumped me for a bit.

I have yet to figure out what ISO means.  Someone want to clue me in, please.

The only others I can think of right now are:

PTR = Peter Thomas Roth

LM = Laura Mercier

DDG = Dr Dennis Gross

SiJCP = Sephora inside JC Penny

I didn't know what MUFE and HG meant for the longest time (make up for ever and holy grail) so you're not alone! :smileyvery-happy:

Yeah, I didn't get any of it and for the longest time, I thought MUA = kiss, like the sound you make when you do a big fake kiss *muua*....except I know that's not right but was too lazy to ask. And I was confused for the longest time whenever I see CS cuz I think of computer science (my field) when it's actually customer service. Usually a quick google provides answer to most of the abbreviations, unless it's the username of a poster, lol.
