Beauty Bar

[ Edited ]

Hi Everybody -

Just was so excited and wanted to share this with you all. I just successfully signed up with BeautyBar for their monthly packages that include deluxe samples and full sized products. It's supposed to be great and there often is a waiting list. I say that I 'successfully' signed up because I've tried a few times and we had some kind of trouble and it finally worked today. If anyone else has, or already had,  trouble getting signed up, particularly at the 'payment method' section, you can send me a Private Message and maybe I can help you out. I wen't back and forth between BeautyBar and my credit card company,. Finally, today, after trying unsuccessfully many times, I called my credit card company and got the loveliest woman on the phone and she fixed my problem in 2 seconds, okay, maybe 3 seconds. She said it's some little 'glitch' in the system that comes up occasionally and they are trying to fix it. Atleast for now I know what to do if I encounter this problem again.

It's so embarassing when you're dealing with the merchant/retailer and there is a credit card issue, and when you say 'but there is definitely more than enough funds there and my account is in good standing' of course they never believe you. But HaHa, I  got the last laugh! My 1st kit will mail out on July 2nd and I can't wait to get it, it seems like forever, but it's less than 3 weeks. I hope it lives up to my expectations. Has anyone else had any experience with BeautyBar?

I'm also signed up with Birchbox, meant to cancel and theb forgot. Just  got a new package today, Hopefully It's a good one, haven't opened it yet.  I'll let you know what's in it if you want me to. I'm on the fence about Birchbox and this package and the BeautyBar package might help me decide what to do about the Birchbox membership. Any thoughts or questions? Just let me know.

I Just was so excited and had to share. Wish me luck with this. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend. :smileyhappy: :smileyhappy:

Hi everybody,

I wanted to say a quick thank you for the prayers and well wishes for my dad, I truly appreciate it and I do think it helps. He came home from the hospital Tuesday night, he was so-so, I've seen him worse. Think this will be on-going. Then doctor appt Thurs and 2 on friday. He got out of the 2 appointments on friday though.....not it a good way.

He got a nose bleed and he is on Coumadin (not sure if spelled right) and that can cause pretty massive, continuous bleeding, it started around 7a and we couldn't stop it, ambulance to hospital 10a, home around 3p, Thank God. The last time he got a bad nose bleed was the evening before my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Finally around 2a on the morning of their anniversary, they finally called  the ambulance, he was in for 4 days. They spent their anniversary in the hospital and missed out on the dinner we planned. I called it the 'Crappy 50th Anniversary' Luckily we did 51 years and all was well.

I hate asking for prayers, don't like to make people feel uncomfortable or put-off at all, that's why I also ask for 'well-wishes' Any good vibes that are sent out are also so helpful and meaningful. There was a time I wasn't really praying a whole lot, that's why I don't want to make others feel bad.

So, Thank You, Thank you, Thank you!! We'll take all we can get. I honestly know it all helps. :smileyhappy: :smileyhappy:

Thanks for turning this.... :smileysad: ..... into this..... :smileyhappy:

Re: Beauty Bar

@kssweetheart. Oh noes! That's terrible. Well, as long as he's ok and you guys celebrated it, everything's good right? Hope he gets better soon. I'm so undecided on whether to like/hear these kind of comments, even on Facebook, cuz it's so awkward since I don't "heart" the bad thing that happened to you, so I end up just commenting "dislike". My parents like to celebrate lunar birthdays, which changes each year, so every time I call home according to the birthday shown on their driver's license, they were like "what birthday? oh that, it was last/next week." and I was like "....in any case....." and they always call me on not-my-birthday-ish to say "happy birthday!" and I'm like "...huh?....oh, thx"

Anyways, I got off tangents (or did I?). Honestly I just like to complain (I used to love sarcasm in everything, but one time in high school I ended up making a girl cry, and I'm no Stephen Colbert so it doesn't come off well in writing, so I stopped that, and now I just rant like there's no tomorrow, I think there's a random rant generator in my head), but, glad it brightens your day. Well wishes and prayers to you and your dad (does God take prayers from atheist? cuz I've been praying to him/her/them/it (I don't descriminate) before every semester exam...or does mine go straight to his spam filter?). *cough* anyways. erm....../{end of rant}

Re: Beauty Bar

Thanks kssweetheart,

My friend actually just did this on her facebook account, she signed up for about 3 or 4 different makeup sampler companies like birchbox and did a photo comparison of each freebie. Very fun! There was one she just signed up I saw she got a Benefit Stainiac, YuBe Lip Moisturizer, some different face masks and creams and even a Chocolate Peppermint Luna Bar! Snacks are always a fun additive, I remember when I was a kid getting boxes of cereal and candy and granola bars as free samples. Probably not safe at all these days.

Re: Beauty Bar

Hi,

Are you talking about the Anastasia brow bar inside some Sephora stores?  What's the Beauty Bar?  Where is this at?  I'd like to learn more about this.

I haven't signed for Beauty bar, but I did do birch box last month and I've been happy for two months. I've also signed for the penny month of Julep, but canceled. I've heard mixed messages about birch box but so far I'm good. I've gotten lots of makeup and stuff I'll use, plus full sized items too. Have fun opening ur boxes!

Hi makeupobesessed, we should compare what we've gotten, that might be an interesting experiment. I posted the first 2-3 packages, not sure if it was in 'hauls' or somewhere else. You could probably do a search if you were interested. I've gotten a few more that I didn't post. Glad you like it, it would be fun to see how much our kits differ if you're interested. It's okay if you're not though. Did get one I really disliked and got 2 another month. I forgot I was going to check with them and see if I got charged for 2 that month (shouldn't have) or if it was just some kind of free bonus. Thanks for reminding me. Hope you continue to love what you get. :smileyhappy:

Kssweetheart.....I'd love to compare. Why don't you start a thread in the lounge and let me know when u do, I'll tell you exactly what I got in my last two boxes, which are the only ones I've received so far. Last month was the Gossip girl box. Let me know and we'll chat!

Nice! You should do a comparison of the two and report back! I'm tempted to get something like that since I've got a soft spot for mini beauty products like mini lipstick.

Heh, oh credit card companies. It varies so much depending on the person you get. My account got hacked once and got a MATCH.COM charge on it. When I called, the lady patiently explained to me that Match.com is an legit online dating site used by many people and it charges money sometimes (I can almost hear the patience in her voice) while I patiently explained that yes, I know what match.com is, but no, I'm 100% sure that I've never been anywhere near that sites, lend anyone my credit card, or looking for eligible singles online while I'm unconscious/sleeping, so I'm 200% sure the charge is a fraud. And then there's the opposite, where since I rarely spend more than $80 on my card, every time I spend more than $150 on something (car tax, website hosting, furniture), they freeze my card and I have to call and say that yes, I'm making my bi-annual-legit-large-purchase so please let me use my credit card again without issuing me a new one. (24hr customer service of electronics are more fun cuz then you get the Indian or European lady/guy with super thick accent who is oh so bubbly while avoiding answering your question about warranties or have no idea how to do things and I literally have to coach them through the steps). They really make me love Sephora customer service/beauty talk that much more. {/end of rant}
