7 Looks for 7 Days: Urban Decay Naked Palette Look #3

Hi!  I've been playing with the darker end of the palette, and I decided to make a sort of progression of a smokey eye.  Here's the starting smokey eye:

To create a little more pizzazz, I then added some wings.  Then, I added some deeper colors to smoke up the look a little more:

Here's the step by step:

Lighter Smokey eye

1. Apply an eye primer (I used UDPP that came with the Naked Palette)

2. Apply the shade Sidecar in the tearduct, the inner 1/2 of the lid, and the browbone.

3. Apply the shade Gunmetal on the outer 1/2 of the lid.

4. Apply the shade Creep in the crease and outer V.

5. Apply the shade Sin on the inner 1/2 of the lid, the tearduct, and the inner 1/4 of the bottom lashline. (This shade appeared almost white in the photo, but looks more pink in person which gives the look a pretty dimension to it.)

6. Apply the shade Creep along the outer 1/2 of the bottom lashline.

7. Apply a black eyeliner along the top lashline (I used a liquid eyeliner, but you could use pencil if you like), and set it with a black eyeshadow (I used Lucifer from the Kat Von D Ludwig palette)

8. Apply mascara.  I used the Tarte Lights Camera Splashes waterproof macara.

To take the look slightly further, add wings with the same pencil or liquid liner, and go over that with your black powder shadow.  To go even further keep reading...

9. Re-apply the shade Gunmetal over the inner 1/2 of the lid, but leave just a little space right next to the tearduct (the innermost part of the lid) so you have the tiniest bit of room to highlight.

10. Apply the shade Creep at the lashline and blending it up onto the lid and to the crease (this may take a couple times of reapplying and blending), and remember to keep that little space in the innermost part of the lid clear.

11. Pat a little bit of the shade Sin to the tearduct and innermost part of the lid you kept clear.

12. Go over where you had applied the shade Creep on the bottom lashline with your liquid or pencil black eyeliner, and then add more black shadow on top, smudging the color.

13. Add another coat of mascara.

Those are the looks!  Talk to you soon :smileyhappy:

Thanks for sharing maltipoo66!

I'm such a fan of smokey eyes, I like to do super intense ones and I really like the effect of the winged liner you did! Very pretty! :cathappy:

This is a really useful look, maltipoo!  I bet it would work easily as well if you were pale or darker skintone.

Thanks for posting!

Maltipoo, I absolutely LOVE this look!!!  I don't do a smokey eye too often, and when I do it's usually with purples and the colors from my Kat Von D Art of Elysium Palette in Kimberly.  I like how the first part of the smokey eye is subtle, and the night time version isn't overly dramatic.  I've bookmarked this thread so I can easily return to it lol.
