Bare Minerals is drying on my skin , what should I use to help
My daughter wants me to use Bare Minerals powder s, but it is very drying to my skin. What product do you recommend to use with it?
First off, I hate bare minerals. I feel that it looks chalky on. I would try W3LL People Altruist Satin Mineral Foundation. http://www.w3llpeople.com/face/altruist-satin-mine
If you want to use Bare Minerals specifically, you could use a moisturizing foundation primer underneath it such as Laura Mercier Foundation Primer - Hydrating which you can read about here: http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P15
However, if you haven't already purchased the Bare Minerals powder foundation and want to use a more hydrating powder foundation, the one I'd recommend for you is Smashbox HALO Hydrating Perfecting Powder. HALO is the first anti-aging powder with the science of skin care built in. It's formulation of pure gold, 48 minerals, 11 amino acids and a powerful peptide deliver powerful anti-aging benefits while the patented hydration system continuously revitalizes your skin and provides a hydrated look that won't accentuate lines and wrinkles. The built-in shaver allows for mess-free application and the super-sized brush (that comes with it) deposits the perfect amount of powder every time. You can find it here: http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P22
I hope this helps you.
I don't know if you've tried any moisturzers with the Bare Minerals, but you might want to try Perricone's Face Finishing Moisturizer or one from Philosophy's "Hope" line..there are several now to choose from. I use Bare Minerals successfully but my skin is still oily, so I sometimes use the oil free Hope with SPF 30.
To be honest, if it is drying, I would switch to a new mineral product. Bare Minerals has an ingredient that would make my skin itch and so I switched years ago. Laura Mercier makes nice mineral foundations that are gentle on sensitive skin.
I couldn't use Bare Minerals because it caused my skin to be severly itchy and dry. So I understand your pain. I get extremely dry skin in the winter and use Ole Henriksen's Nurture Me Creme. It's very thick and does a great job. It smells delicious too.
It made my skin very itchy and made me breakout horribly! It was not worth it. I'd never had acne as bad as I did when I used BM...it was very bumpy and totally visible under the makeup especially in the sun...I still have nightmares looking at pictures of me when i used it.
You should try Everyday Minerals. It doesn't contain cornstarch, which I read can cause bacterial growth if your skin is moist. It also doesn't contain bismuth. Everyday Minerals is also part of the Leaping Bunny Program, which ensures that cosmetics are animal cruelty free.
Hope this helps!
