I know I'm late posting this but did you guys see this? This looks so cool it's gonna be in the May box but something about they can't afford to place such a big order they are asking you to preorder for May now! Here are the options: They are doing something like kickstarter it's called crowdfunding and I'm seriously thinking of preordering it. What do you guys think?
How to you decide which colors to use? Do you match your toes and fingers exactly? Do you coordinate them or at least keep them in the same color family? What about different finishes like cream and glitters? Do you reserve only certain colors for certain seasons? Or do you just throw caution to the wind and do whatever? What are your favorite combos for spring and summer? I'm curious to know if I'm the only weirdo who actually puts this much thought into it.
It seems that no matter which base coat I use with my Deborah Lippmann polishes (especially the glitter ones), they always end up peeling off after a day or 2. I want to get a new base coat and maybe top coat during Chic Week. Does anyone have any recommendations of base and/or top coat systems that have worked with thier DL polishes? Thanks!
........at Sephora or ANYWHERE for that matter???I saw some previews on these nail polishes on various blogs, and on their Facebook page, but I managed to be two weeks late finding out about them, so I missed their pre-order. They were supposed to launch end of March but here we are at the (very) beginning of April and....... nothing anywhere.......
I recently bought a paste Butter London polish in Kerfuffle and am struggling with streaks. I did some searching online, but the advice I keep coming across (an initial thin coat, then a thicker coat...don't overwork/try to fix the streaks) isn't working. I wonder if a quality base coat would make a difference (I'm currently using Revlon) or if I should go with a white nail polish coat first. Any tips?
I'm looking for a good, long lasting, nail polish. I can't seem to keep polish on for more than a day without chipping. I prep my nails every time before painting them and there are still chips the next day. I have gel polish but I'm looking for a regular nail polish. So what are your favorite brands and colors? Thanks for the help!
I've never thought about buying nail clippers because "they were just always home" but I need a new one but I don't know what to look for.. I've read reviews about Sephora ones and they're not so positive.. I want mine to last and be good quality where might I find one ?
I'm going to start by admitting that I'm an avid nail polish collector, and I have been for years, so I have over 600 bottles of nail polish at last count. This make organization trickier than usual, which is fine because I love just going through all the bottles and making sure they're all in their proper places. I got some Butter London in the mail today, and one of the bottles, Goss, is missing the label. This is bothering me a lot. I'm guessing it is the right color, although since I've never seen a bottle of it in person (I live a hour away from anyplace that sells it) I can't be sure it isn't The Old Bill or something. On the one hand, I actually check every bottle of nail polish I buy to make sure that it not only has a label but has a nice looking, well centered label, so I'd consider it a product defect, plus it's unopened, so they could probably resell it to someone who isn't so fastidious about her collection. On the other hand, I hate to have a nice bottle of nail polish destroyed because the label was missing. I have double checked the packing material for it, and my husband even suggested that I just buy a second bottle and give the first bottle away (at $15, I'm not fond of that solution). What would you ladies do?
I started wearing gel polish in October and love it. I wash my hands constantly with my job so the gels have finally allowed me to wear dark colors and not worry about chipping. The problem is my nails have gotten so soft that they are tearing, even with the gel polish on. I'd hate to take a break from the gels. I was wondering if there was a gel base/top coat that cured to a harder finish. My gel top coat (Sensationail) seems very soft and flexible so it's really not protecting the nail. Any good advice or options?
Hello, I love Deborah Lippmann La Vie en Rose from the Spring Reveries collection, but it was out of stock at a store I went to, so I checked online but the item isn't listed? Is that color discontinued already?
Beauty Mavens Help me...Last summer I started getting gel polish on my natural finger nails and it has taken a long time to get them back to where they were before I decided to do gel. But my nails still keep peeling. Any suggestions of what to use for this?
Hanami- the viewing of Sakura/Cherry Blossoms is going on at the moment. It's a Japanese tradition looking at the beauty of flowers and I want a Sakura manicure. I need some ideas. I might be going to a Japanese nail salon since they know how to do their nail art and they'll be doing it in gels. Should I go 3D (which would not be good when I have a swim meet) or just go for a normal 2D? I won't be using the Sephora Formula X Cherry Blossom polish since it's a bit scattered.
TJ Maxx and Marshalls have some really awesome duo sets right now! I found the Bond Girls collection, the Mariah Carey January 2013 collection and the Holiday 2013 collection, the Couture de Minnie collection, and the Oz the Great and Powerful collection. I picked up: Innie Minnie Mightie Bow Minnie Style What Wizardry is This? Tiffany Case It's Frosty Outside Emotions Check them out if you were looking for any polishes from those collections. Also, the Smart Style hair salon chain that is partnered with Walmart is currently having a BOGO sale on OPI!!! Buy one, get TWO free!! Happy Shopping11
Has anyone ever used Gellie Beans? It's on Zulily today (PM me if you want a link!) and I've been dying to try a gel polish but they're a pretty substantial outlay for any of the gel brands because of having to buy the light & stuff. Any thoughts?
Does anyone else have issues with the Zoyz color lock system? When it's not chipping within a day, it's literally having the polish come off after 48 hours. (I took a shower and the polish on one was just GONE before I had a chance to get dressed.) I don't have this issue with Sephora by OPI or the Sephora X System, so I'm kind of at a loss to explain what's going on. I use either the Zoya Remove+ or the Sephora oil remover, but the base for Sephora X seems to be the best I've tried, since my Chanel Taboo polish usually doesn't chip within 24 hours...more five days instead (even when doing cloth diapers with snaps.) Any ideas? Anyone else run into this problem?
There is this new nail polish that I came across in a vogue magazine. it's called REVLON Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel! It had African Tea Rose and Autumn Spice (sample smelly things on the page). OMG!! it smelled soooo f'ing good! The Autumn Spice was my favorite. It smelled like pumpkin spice mixed with fall. I now want it in my hands!! I wish I could've ripped that page out and taken it home with me, but that would involve me sniffing the d*mn thing every 5 mins. Just wanted to tell you about this amazing nail polish
I don't know why i have been obsessing over nail colors lately. My best friend is a triplet and their birthdays just passed so we went to get our nails done ( I was boring and got a french tip) but they went all out with the colors. So it got me thinking "Hmmm I need to stop being boring," haha so I'm thinkin about the Ciate "pool party" color whenever i get rid of my current man/pedi, what about y'all?
I'm really annoyed with the formula on most pastel nail polishes and I love pastels. They're really sheer and take four or five coats for full opacity. Does anyone know why this is? Also, can someone recommend some pastel pink and lavender nail polishes that can get full opacity in two coats? I have an Orly pastel pink I really like that reaches opacity in two coats but I don't know the color of it, It doesn't say on the label Here are some pictures of the kind of color I'm looking for.
