I am having trouble getting my nails to look nice. The cubicles are a mess. Nails not strong or growing. When they don't look nice I have been bitting them. I want to have nice nail and paint them. Please help me
So I have really small nails, not just short, but small. I was wondering if anyone had any good tips and tricks for painting my nails at home. I recently got a manicure, but I'd like to also be able to save money and do it on my own. But I always have trouble since my nails are so tiny. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I've included photos of my nails next to/overlapping a dime to show a size comparison. :-) Thanks so much!
I have used many types of nail polish, and even nicer ones, like OPI, Essie and Formula X form bubbles after being applied? I especially have problems with the top coats. Any tips for preventing this? Thank you so much!
My nails are weak and very clear when they grow out. I pick my nails while they are growing out, plus, I trim my cuticles on a bi-weekly basis with one of those cheap cuticle cutters from the drugstore. I'm noticing that my cuticles itch more than ever now when they are growing back, and my nails are in varying opaque shades when they grow. I have been using a nail strengthener and occasionally painting my nails as a method of NOT picking my nails. I've looked at the products offered on Sephora and just don't know what to get! I would appreciate some advice and product recommendations for caring for my nails.
I noticed my nails are extra soft and break more easily after having a shellac manicure. Does anyone else have the same issue? I'm looking for a product(s) that would help strengthen the nail after removing the nail polish. Hope someone can help. Thanks.
I noticed that we don't have a thread for talking about nail polishes. Since we have some nail polish collectors/fans here, I thought it would be nice to have a dedicated thread to discuss new releases, our favorite nail polishes, etc.
Hello lovely ladies of Sephora!
So I've never been very serious about makeup, my hair, my nails, etc. until very recently. After graduating college with a degree in Animal Science, I'm now starting a job in the animal nutrition industry as a brand representative for a major pet food company. Clearly I need to look (and feel!) my best when I'm spending hours at a time talking to people about their fur babies.
One of the ways I'm doing this is to challenge myself to use up the nail polish I currently have (and really don't like, hence why all the bottles have remained full) before I let myself buy new bottles that I'll adore. I'll be documenting my challenge online to make myself really stick to it, and I welcome any color/design suggestions!
My current collection is quite small--of the 22 bottles I'm using only 16 colors plus top and base coat in my personal challenge--but I hope it inspires other ladies to use what we buy rather than let it sit on a shelf collecting dust.
I am searching desparately for a high quality replacement polish for Illumasqua Nail Laquer in "Jo'mina." It was previously sold at Sephora, and Bloomingdales, but after not being sold in the U.S. (and not shipping to the U.S. for about 2 years), the color has been discontinued. There are no American retailers for the brand at this time. I haven't found anything color/formulation comparable since. I describe the shade best as an electric/neon lilac and I am willing to try both traditional and gel polish formulations. Thank you!
What's your favorite nail polish and why? Do you have a brand that you absolutely adore? My favorites come down to ease of application because I'm not exactly patient nor do I have a particularly steady hand. So far, my favorite brands are Sparitual, 100% Pure, and Julep.
I'm looking for a close match to a red nail polish that is from the 1950s. I really love Formula X, but also OPI might be a good option as well... I currently own the Formula X Pyrotechnic, which is a red shade that I think fits the 50s.. But I still want to look and see what other options would "fit the bill" for the 50s. I just didn't know if anyone had any other recommendations, although I do love Pyrotechnic, it would be nice to have another red option! Thank you!
I have been invited to a party for Jamberry nail wraps, which I haven't heard of until now. My friend insists they apply and last way better than any nail wraps bought around here, and looking at the website, they are adorable! They even have a style box to subscribe to! I will probably go to the party and buy a few to try out before committing to a monthly subscription... Has anyone tried these before? Do tell! PS the website ends in .net
Hey everybody! I recently got the polish bug for the first time since I was fourteen or so (woo!), and I was hoping y'all could give me some recommendations as to which brands have really awesome polish formulas/colors. Could be either high-end or drugstore. Thanks!
I don't know if this exists, but I've seen color challenges and looks of the day. I was thinking a challenge, but then again, some of us can't do the 3D sculpturing/3D Japanese art or gels. So weekly would be tough. I guess what I want to see is what you guys have going on in the nail world and what art you've come up with. (Yes manicurist/cosmetologist assistance is ok.) Rules: Please if you are having someone do your nails, credit the salon and maybe the artist if they will disclose. List each shade used. Let's see some fun things. November: Free for all (since there's only a few days left.)
What are your experiences with Butter London nail polishes? Are they good? Do they compare to Formula X, for better or for worse? I saw a couple new sets from them and really loved the colors. What about the base&top coats from Butter London? I've used mostly Formula X and Revlon and would like to switch it up if they work well and last about a week or so. Thanks!
Between having colors that are out of date and a desire to replace my 3-free favorites with 5-free varieties, I'm doing some nail color shopping. In each color family I'm looking at, there are clear winners, and then there are some that are so close to each other that I can't justify buying them both. Any strong opinions on how to narrow down my collection among the following? Thoughts on color intensity and durability among Ciate, deborah lippman, and JINsoon? Greys : I need to pick one of the following: Ciate Pillow Talk deborah lippman She Wolf Burgandies : I need to pick one of the following Ciate Raising the Barre deborah lippman Miss Independent JINsoon Audacity Purples : I need to pick one of the following deborah lippman Dark Side of the Moon JINsoon Soubrette I have figured out some nice nudes and glittery/fun ones, but I am stumped on how to narrow the above.
