(Not sure if I should ask this here... Considering Sephora doesn't sell Zoya lol) I LOVE the look of the Pixie Dust polishes but I'm just wondering how difficult they are to remove? Anyone have any experience?
I saw 2 for $18 Butter London on Ulta... you better believe I picked a bunch up!! Plus they have a GWP if you spend $50+ on Butter... the GWP was two pretty colors Chancer and Fizzy Pop, plus a pencil case. AND... a Beauty bag stuffed with samples if you buy $40. Nice bonuses!!
I am thinking about getting an at home gel polish manicure set - it must have a curing light & the manicure to last as long as possible. I live in the country & sometimes going to the nail salon is inconvenient (it's a diff place than my hair salon). I appreciate your recommendations.
okay please can someone tell me how to get rid of nail polish without nail polish remover? I just got this hot pink nail color on my clothes and it is all over my skin, don't even ask im a horrible nail painter. please help anyone!
I bought this during the VIB sale because the bottle is gorgeous, I like the polish color, and I wanted something Dior. But I own a huge amount of polish and I've never had something chip this badly. I put it on right before bed last night and it chipped a bit first thing this morning and now has chipped again. It's horrible! Please, if you have a suggestion let me know. I am taking this back otherwise. I do love the bottle but it is far, far too expensive for me to keep for the name and the bottle if I have no hope of wearing it. The Sephora by OPI polish I had on before this was on for 5 days with just some tip wear before I took it off because I wanted something different. I hate wearing chipped polish and in this dark color it looks terrible.
Searching for a super moisturizing hand mask (also love recs for foot masks too). I just learned that these are a thing . Currently I used things like Origins Intensive Drink Up face mask on my hands (I have severe dry skin and eczema... I'm also allergic to strong scents, mostly florals -- i.e. sometimes very light "milk and honey" or "almond" and the like scents are OK). I currently use intensive hand moisturizers from Kiehls and Aveda which are great... but they aren't the same as a mask. Sometimes they are really lubricating but not too deeply emollient/moisturizing if that makes sense... more waxy or greasy and sit on top. I can keep using face masks on my hands and feet and would love recs for ideas for those as well - but ideally coulduse some recs for products specifically FOR hands/feet. Someone mentioned Julep hand and foot (and nail) masks the come in the Trio and they are current half off ($9.99 final price) on Juleps site so I am thinking of getting some... any reviews?!
What is your favorite top coat? For the past year, I have been using either the Ulta Nail Salon Formula Top Coat or Seche Vite, but I'm not super happy with either of them. The Ulta brand lasts almost a week without chips, but it never seems to dry completely- even if I apply top coat first thing in the AM, I will wake up the next day with sheet marks on my nails. The Seche Vite dried fast and glossy, but it shrinks the polish on my nail and chips more easily (plus, it has formaldehyde, which I am not a fan of inhaling). Let me know your recommendations!!
I was in the mall yesterday and got sucked into a kiosks. They had one of those typical nail buffers but this did AMAZING things, unlike my normal 4 way buffer that I have at home. However, I'm not going to spend $50 for a buffer and cuticle cream, simply because I feel like I can recreate it. I was wondering how you beauty ladies get your nails looking shiny and smooth, preferably without the use of polishes.
I bought some sparkly nail polish to get in the holiday spirit and was curious as to opinions of how many topcoats to apply? I've applied one but keep finding myself playing with my nails because of the texture but I don't want to decrease the longevity of my mani. Any thoughts?
First of all, I feel like I am going through nail art and polish withdrawals this semester. I haven't had much time to focus on it, and definitely no time to practice with acrylic. When winter break gets here, although I will be taking one online winter class, people at home better not disturb me during polish time lol. Anyway, since I'm going through withdrawals, my nails are naked. When they're naked, I notice, even more, how their shape is uneven. I know how the nails grow is one factor, but I've always had trouble with this. I've also noticed how I don't have as much cuticle/skin evenly around the nail, especially on my index fingers. I've read some filing tips in magazines, but I haven't found any real in depth information. Does anyone have any filing tips? Perhaps filing will help me through my withdrawals lol. In the picture, the specks are leftovers from glitter polish I wore on Halloween. I had enough time to slap on some glitter lol.
So I've been looking on-line at nail polishes and of course I fall in-love with the one I can't get my hands on... Leave it to me to want the things I can't have lol It's a Butter London polish called Prince's Plums. It's only available at Nordstrom. Now Nordstrom ships to Canada but not beauty products So here are some pictures I found on-line. If anyone can give me a dupe I'll go search for that Thanks ladies!!!
hey ladies, i haven't posted much before this. . . but i have a question that i know some of you can answer. i get my nails done at an inexpensive place - unfortunately it is difficult to communicate with the workers who do my nails. . .there is a little bit that is lost in translation. i have had gel polish and acrylics and acrylics with gel polish. most recently i have opted for acrylics because i like having fills every couple weeks rather than having to soak off gel nail polish. (i do have my acrylics painted with gel polish to get the nice shiny look - usually a french manicure.) i know the harm that comes from acrylics but there isn't too much of a difference for me since my nails get destroyed from gel nail polish whether it is on top of the acrylic or not. the last time i was in the nail salon the woman suggested gel nails. so here are my questions for those of you in the know. . . 1. are gel nails the same thing as gel polish? 2. can i get tips applied when i do gel nails so i have more length if i want it? 3. can i get any color i want in gel nails - is it just a matter of painting over the gel nails like painting over the acrylic? (the woman at the salon sounded like gel nails only come in french manicure which doesn't sound right) 4. most importantly, can i get gel nails filled instead of having to fully soak them off every few weeks? i did a bit of research online and i know that gel really means GEL - so if it is ever in a powder form it is really an acrylic but this other stuff i wasn't so sure about. . . thanks in advance for your help!
I found only one review for this product on Sephora's website, and it wasn't good. Therefore, I was looking for additional feedback. I wanted to know how this product has worked out (e.g. is it long lasting). Also, is it really that different from regular matte nail polishes?
Hey guys, I got an Orly nail polish from TJ Maxx and it doesn't say what the name of the color is on the label. Instead it says FBI20818 and Orly #818. It's a pale pink polish. I tried to attach a picture but it won't let me for some reason. Edit: I finally figured out how to post a picture!
I clicked on the sale section to see there was finally over 100 items again! I was so excited. Most of the additions seem to be Nails, Inc. products, so if anyone is a big Nails, Inc. fan: ready, set, sale!
I was wondering if anyone has gotten/used these yet and if they would please post as to wear time and if / what you use as a base/ topcoat. I usually do not wear regular nail polish but the bottle is darn adorable i am not sure if i can pass it up. Thanks!
Beautiful! Just posted on Temptalia. ALL credits to her. Looks like it's only available at Selfridges, YSL UK, Brown Thomas (€450.00). Thought I would post since it's so pretty Looks like Selfridges ships to the US and Canada.
I'm starting to think that the harsh smell from my nail polish sometimes leads to migraines, so I've been purchasing more 3 (or 4 or 5) free nail polish. I am a big fan of Orly topcoat, though, and I have yet to make the switch... can you guys recommend your favorites so I can try a few? Thanks!
Hopefully this is ok, but it is to benefit a cause, MadeByMunchiesMama on etsy. proceeds go to her daughters heart surgery recovery, and there are coupons where you get $ off for ordering 3, 5pks etc Im definitely going to get some. there's a wide variety of bows, lips, chevron etc and a lot of color choices for all you nail addicts
I am thinking about buying The System from Formula X because no matter what base and top coats I try, my nails always chip within 1 to 2 days. I have heard nothing but great reviews about The System, but every review I have seen talks about using it with the actual Formula X polishes. As someone who owns 400+ nail polishes, I would be using the base and top coats with other brands of polish 99% of the time, so I want to make sure that it works well with any brand before purchasing!
