I have naturally long nails that look great when polished but after a few days of wearing a color my nails start to break. Any idea why? Without nail polish I can go for months without having a nail break.
BTW my nails are naturally hard and I use OPI nail polish.
Thanks for any advise!

Hi macuser,
It is possible that the polishes may be making your nails a bit more brittle and prone to breakage. I have the reverse problem where my nails will break if they don't have polish on them!
I recommend using a nail hardener or strengthener that will help to keep the nails strong and less prone to breakage or chipping. I also like to take a vitamin supplement that will strengthen my hair and nails too. These might be some options you want to try! When you remove your polish, try using a non-acetone based remover as well, as this may be a bit more gentle on your nails. ![]()

I definitely recommend trying Nail Tek. I use the formula for peeling nails because I had a similar problem, but with peeling. I always apply Nail Tek before color and as a top coat, and even on its own when I am not able to wear color for work.
I haven't tried the formula for harder, brittle nails, but I believe that if they have a product, it will do its job.
You can find them at most drug stores and definitely at salons and beauty stores.
Hope this helped!
