Profession al Work Nail Polish Colors
As part of my Foundations of Education class, I have to do a minimum of 12 hours of classroom observations. Although students are allowed to wear nice jeans, most teachers will mark down on evalutations for those who wear nice jeans. So, I'm not going to risk that, and I'm going to go all out. It might help in the future. Anyway, I always have my nails polished. I know not to wear my neons, glitters, etc, but I'd like some tips on colors and designs. For example, would it be ok to wear a french white tip with a colored stripe below it? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I'd suggest colors in the neutral or "greige" family. Pretty boring, but you could always polish up your nails bright for the weekend. I think you could get away with a French tip if the nail color was a pretty pale pink or neutral color. Skip nail designs or art, think what you see on lawyers or professors, probably none of them wear nail art when they are in court or teaching.
With only 12 hours of having to wear a professional look, I think you could pull it off easily!

I have the same issue at my workplace and I highly doubt a little stripe of color on the tip would be a big deal. But I usually stick with classic white tip or paint them in nudes or light colors, except I love red. You can get gorgeous variety of light colors from Essie nail polish. Hope this helps hun!!

After working at the same large consulting firm for 5+ years, one day I decided to take the risk. I slipped on a black dress, blazer, and cinched a skinny mauve satin belt at my waist ... which matched the mauve tint in my leopard printed nail strips perfectly.
I have never received so many compliments on my nails, ever! My senior staff and clients loved them. I think it worked because when paired with the black dress and blazer, I think I still looked polished.
I don't do "fun" nails as an everyday look, but I think lots of nail looks can be pulled off at work with the right clothes and minimal make-up.

I work at a bank and experience the same issue. I love nail polish, but feel that I'm limited in the colours I can use so I don't look "unprofessional". Usually I paint my nails black, dark purple, red, pale pink, or have a french manicure. Now that summer is here I'm trying to incorporate more summery colours into my "work nail polish" by using pastels. I find that because the pastels are softer I can get away with using colours without it looking inappropriate at work.
Hopefully this helps!
