Nail Art Times Three

Instead of posting these in three seperate posts, I uploaded them all to one post.  After studying some Biology, I'm all for short and simple lol.  Anyway, here are some recent manicures.  I've entered a couple of them into Instagram contests, and it helps me to relax a bit from my class lol.

I did this for a neon contest.  I used a toothpick to place the dots, but I need to get a dotting tool to try.  I used Sephora by OPI Strengh Base Coat, Essie in Action on the nail tip, China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy (love!)  for the dots, and LA Colors Nail Art Decor in Silver Glitter for the streak.  The topcoat was Seche Vite.  In the bottom picture, I found a Kiss Nail Ring at Walgreens!  I thought it was neat and different, and I love butterflies lol.

Blue and Green gradient nails inspired by the shades in my Senior Prom dress lol.  I used the same base and top coat.  The blues are Sinful Colors Cinderella and some sort of Sally Girl polish.  It was kind of difficult to work with for some reason.  For the most part, the Sally Girl polishes are decent quality, so I wonder if I picked up a bad bottle or something.  The greens are Julep in Sofia and China Glaze Tree Hugger.

My current manicure was also for an Instagram contest inspired by a favorite outfit, and I went with my "hippie" summer dress.  Ignore the note in the picture.  It's there to prove that it is my hand and not something stolen from the internet.  I used colors inspired by the dress on my nail tips in an ombre pattern.  Then, applied China Glaze Fairy Dust to the nail bed, and LA Colors Art Decor in Glitter Gold for the streak.  The colored tips have the NYC Matte Me Crazy top coat over them.  It actually works very well!  The colors I used (starting with my pinky) were Sinful Colors in Unicorn, China Glaze in Dare to be Bare, Essie in Action, Fingerpaints Cordor-Orange, and Essie in some sort of burgundy color.

I just discovered the other day that Sephora carries a matte top coat.  It took me forever to find the NYC one lol.

Your nails are just gorgeous, if you don't win the contest, it must be fixed! lol

My favorite is the one you did in blues and greens, it looks doable for even a klutz like me (with a lot of practice, no doubt).

Your looks are my summer inspirations, keep up the great work!

I think the gradient nails are kind of easier to do than the water marbling. If I mess up a bit with gradient, my top coat usually smooths it all out for a blended look. It doesn't use as much polish as water marbling either.
