Q. Sensitive Skin
I have very sensitive skin that's often prone to redness and acne. However, I just started trying out makeup and I want to figure out what's best for my skin while being able to experiment with different styles and colors. However, I don't like products/brands that contain harsh chemicals (i.e. parabens or phthalates) or test on animals. With that in mind, do any of you have recommendations for these items:     Makeup Remover Wipes/Brush Cleaners Eyeshadow/Face Palettes (in neutral, soft, vivid/bold colors and/or a combo of any of these) Single Eyeshadows/Blushes/Highlighters/Bronzers Colorless Lip Balm  Mascara Eyeliner Lipstick/Gloss/Stain/Colored Lip Balm   Thank you!

Q. whats a good face primer for dry, tan skin?
Hello everyone! I just need some help finding a good face primer.  I have normal to dry skin and i need a hydrating primer but I also have tan skin with yellow undertones. I've used the Rimmel London Stay Matte primer from the drugstore, its mattifying but it doesn't work well with my dry skin and it makes my skin tone look lighter and it makes my foundation appear lighter.  So I'm in the hunt for a primer that wont lighten my skin tone and make it look white or washed out. Do you guys know of any primer that's hydrating and wont lighten my skin tone or make my skin look washed out/ashy?  Would a primer that's clear or have gel like consistency would work? What products do you recommend? Thank you! Hope you can help me!

Q. Beach Wedding Makeup Help
What is the best CURRENT foundation for a beach wedding?  I was looking into Smashbox Studio Skin, Dior Airflash, and Makeup Forever Ultra HD foundation.   I plan to do a moisturizer for SPF underneath my foundation so no worries about ghostly images.  I want it to stay put (for the most part) and not melt off my face but simultaneously let me not look like I'm caked on.  Any suggestions, ladies, would be greatly appreciated!

Q. Is it annoying to return something?
I work in retail, so the last thing I want is to be annoying but I just bought the Nars matte tinted moisturizer for oily skin and just absolutely hate it. I should've asked for a sample but I love the brand so much that I trusted it would work great, especially after seeing some reviews on youtube. When I put it on this morning I could just tell the consistency was off as I was applying and then literally 15 minutes after I applied it, it started settling into my pores so bad. I have a lot of pores around my nose and chin area and it looked really bad, and it settled in certain areas of my skin but then got really really oily and pretty much disappeared in other areas. I'm so disappointed in the product, and I hate the thought of having paid 45 dollars for something I really dislike. I really don't want to be annoying though, what do you guys recommend I do? Should I return it, or should I keep it and try mixing other foundations or stuff with it? Will I be annoying if I return it?

Q. Makeup for beginner.
Hello everyone It's my birthday and my friend gave me a $50 Sephora gift card (so nice of him). I'm 22. I don't know anything about makeup and never wore makeup before (I actually did a few times but didn't feel confident or pretty at all). So with this gift, I think it's a good idea to start learning.  For my first purchase ever, what should I buy to utilize the money. I may chip in my own money but I don't want to do anything too crazy since I don't know anything yet. I don't want to spend all the money to get like 1 full-size product, so I think the gift set may be a good idea. What do you guys think. If I bought the gift set, should I get a lipsticks set or the mini makeup set which has a little bit of everything? I saw the Dandelion makeup set from Benefit and I find it really cute, or something like that. For the rest, I may have to experience first with drug store products before spending money on expensive stuff at Sephora, don't you think so?  Also, I feel kinda intimidated stepping into the store. Do you have any advice how I can take advantage of the help of the makeup artists in store? Should I tell them I don't know anything and please give me advice on what to buy?  Lastly, what should I ask to get for the first 3 free samples with my purchase? Skincare, foundation? I have no idea lol.  I hope someone would answer my question. Thank you so much for your help. Rachel

Q. Prom makeup!
Hi, I'm trying to decide how to do my makeup for my senior prom! I usually do more edgy looks but for prom I'm probably going to tone it down some.  I have blonde hair (w/ dirty blonde roots), hazel eyes, and I'm pretty pale. My dress has gold beading, so since gold compliments hazel eyes I'm thinking of incorporating that as a shadow or liner? My main goal is to have flawless skin for photos but I usually struggle with redness or small breakouts. Any advice is appreciated!

Q. Favorite Brushes/Tools?
I have been in the process of revamping my entire beauty and skincare routine because I was way overdue for an overhaul...While I have replaced my three most commonly used brushes, for the rest, this is still one of the "categories" I am still on the fence about. Call me crazy but I feel that if you use something every day regardless of what kind of look you are going for for that day the way we might use a foundation brush or blush brush, I feel that is should be something you love and look forward to using and I'm looking for some inspiration to shake things up a bit. I'm hoping everyone here can chime in on what you prefer and how they work best for you (IE, gel, cream, pressed powder, loose powder, what level of coverage it gives, do they multi-task, etc). For the record, I am including tools like the BeautyBlenders, etc. in the umbrella term of "brushes" here.   Ok, with that being said: What are your preferred all-over/face brushes? Cheek brushes? Eye brushes? Lip brushes? Body brushes if you use them? Any that you use solely for application of skincare products? Any brushes that you use for an alternate purpose than what they are marketed as?    As for my current faves: Spoiler (Highlight to read) Sephora Classic Multitasker Powder Brush #45 - I use this for foundation. I like that it can apply full coverage as many of the ones originally recommended to me as "full coverage" or "can build up to full coverage" weren't actually achieving full coverage. I currently use it for pressed powder foundation but have heard from multiple people that it works well with liquids or creams too but I'd have to experiment with that some more before I could give any accurate reviews of its performance in that field. I have the Mini version of this for travel too and while it does take a bit longer for application because the bush head is smaller, it does work well if you are short on space but still want to create the same effects while out on vacation.   Hakuho-do + Sephora Pro - Wedge Sloping Powder Brush and Fan Cheek Brush: I just picked these two up recently and use the Wedge for setting powder when I do wear my liquid foundation on occasion but am still experimenting to learn all it can do. I am using the Fan Cheek Brush for crush currently but like I said with the Wedge Brush, since it is still very new so I am still getting adjusted to it. I love how soft they are and how luxurious they feel on my skin. Another added perk I discovered is that when I clean them in the afternoon or evening, they are dry by the next morning. Having a dry time of less than 12 hours as opposed to my Sephora Classic #45 brush taking 3-4 DAYS before it is fully dry tells me they are a higher grade synthetic that is absorbing much less water during cleansing and therefor also product during use. I did experiment a couple times with using the Hakuho-do brushes to apply my liquid foundation which I almost never wear anyway. However, I am so used to using a Beauty Blender to apply the liquid that I would have to practice more to really get the hang of this before I could really say how well they performed with liquid applications.   BeautyBlender and BB Micro-Mini: Like I said, I almost never wear my liquid foundation currently but when I do decide to, my full sized BB is truly on the Holy Grail list for application. I can build coverage as needed, and while it did take a little bit of experimentation to learn, I chalk that up to never having used anything similar prior to picking this up. I use the MicroMini for application and blending of concealer pretty much daily and love it too.    As for eye brushes and pretty much anything besides those three and the BBs, I am still looking for replacements for my old ones. I can still use the old ones as needed until I can find some I truly love but got caught up in other things and haven't gotten to look around at options at all.  Sephora Classic Multitasker Powder Brush #45 - I use this for foundation. Q. How long do you keep makeup?
Hi all,   We've seen the lists of recommended expiry times of different types of makeup. They honestly seem way too soon unless you're wearing the same face every day. Given the fairly large makeup collections a lot of us own, do you think that advice doesn't really apply as products would get used (and exposed to air/bacteria) maybe once a week or so?    I currently have in my collection some lipsticks/liners, eyeshadows/liners and blushes that are 4-5 years old. I also tend to keep mascaras *much* longer than 3 months as I keep a few in use at a time for different looks...   How long do you personally keep things if they're still good, and have they ever caused any infections or other problems?   ------------   Thanks, I feel a bit more confident about my old makeup now haha. Will also try to ditch the mascaras sooner. Most of them basically last forever though. I kind of doubt anyone's actually finished one. They either dry out, go bad, or you worry about how long you've had it. They should just halve the amount of product and sell it cheaper.
