how to stop summer shine

hey there!

I usually wear a tinted moisturizer with sunscreen in it, but I'm noticing that I'm looking pretty shiny after!

I think it might be the increased in humidity in the summer.  I like the "dewy" look, but this is too much!

What should I do? Change tinted moisturizers? Add a setting powder? Switch to a powder/mineral foundation?  switch to a bb cream?

I'm looking for medium coverage. I'm 28 and have redness and fine lines, but I don't want anything too heavy!

thanks for your help!!

There are also oil blotting papers that you can use instead of applying more product. They don't mess up your makeup and it prevents you from getting oiler without all the weight of too much product.

Yes...I agree with Maltipoo's suggestion.

Just use the Tarte Smooth Operator Finishing Powder over your current routine. I use a big fluffy powder brush and roll and push the powder into the skin. I works well and doesn't look too heavy.

..Tip: If you use a wedged crease brush and tap it into your crease and just under your lower lash line it will increase the longevity of your shadow and liner...prevent mascara creep on hot days or oily lids...Best if done before you apply mascara though.

I live in Tennesse and can relate to your problem.  I wear a tinted moisturizer as well, and I set it with Tarte Smooth Operator Finishing powder.  I love it!  I bought it back in November or December, so it lasts a long time.  While outside often and running around town, shine still does pop up.  When this happens, I use my compact of Urban Decay's De-Slick Mattifying Powder.  It works extremely well, and I keep it in my makeup bag at all times.

If you like your tinted moisturizer (and are not looking to switch), I would just add a touch of powder to soak up the shine. There are several colorless powders, or if you like a small amount of coverage, try Clinique Stay Matte Sheer Pressed Powder (http://www.sephora.com/stay-matte-sheer-pressed-powder-P122748, $22).

You can try a mattifying primer.  Korres makes a good mattifying primer.
