foundation for rosacea

I need help with a foundation for rosacea - I am 69 years old, with somewhat dry sensitive skin and today for some reason my cheeks are on fire and don't know what I did to cause this.  have not used anything different - any help will be appreciated.

Hi Djroutine, I recommend the following foundations to help to treat and cover redness:

Clinique Redness Solutions Makeup SPF 15 with Probiotic Technology: Calming ingredients help minimize flare-ups and redness.

Cover FX Natural Finish Oil Free Foundation: Vitamins C and E soothe inflammation and reduce redness while protecting against premature skin aging.

It also helps to use a color correcting primer underneath your foundation:

Smashbox Photo Finish Color Correcting Foundation Primer, Color Adjust - green - minimizes redness

Make Up For Ever HD Microperfecting Primer, 1 Green - minimizes redness

It's always best to visit your dermatologist to help diagnose the issue and help with other possible solutions. :smileyhappy:

If your skin is easily inflammed, looked into make up that is designed for sensitive skin like Tarte or Lorac, which are brands that don't include many fillers or extra ingredients that can irritate.

Tarte's Maracuja Foundation gives natural wear and also infuses skin with anti-oxidant rich maracuja extract (passion fruit) and Lorac's Break Through Performance formula is a good anti-aging formula with natural coverage as well.

Try consulting your doctor to be sure they're safe for use on your skin, you might even check in to see if revamping or making some changes to your skin care routine can better help calm the rosacea. :smileyhappy:
