In the spirit of all the other wonderful challenges on BT right now, I'm starting up a nail polish challenge for us. I have a ridiculous stash and I need to show my polish some love. With nail polish, once a day would be absurd (of course), so let's try and show off a new look and polish once a week. I'm personally going with manicures only, but if you'd rather do pedicures or even both go for it! I'm eager to see your collections and meet other polish junkies. It's past time for me to commit to using my stash! I need swatches!!! As I see the new collection fly out of stock online, I've been scouring the internet for swatches to get a better feel of how the shades look. Most of them also look to be multiple shades of pink on the Sephora site, which doesn't seem to match up with the shade descriptions provided. Can anyone share their experiences so that, you know, I'm hopefully not compelled to get 18 out of 20 of them?
What is a good foundation that photographs well, especially in flash photography? Medium, or medium-full coverage.I have combo skin(Oily T-Zone, normal around, with dry patches) Any help is appreciated (i have the MUFE HD but it doesnt last as long as i'd like it too, i have tried the new nars all day luminious and i did not like it at all. )
Is this better used a powder foundation or setting powder?Does it settle into any lines.I was having a hard time picking between shade 5 or 6.I am Mac NC35-37.I'm currently using Laura Mercier Smooth finish flawless fluide in dusk.
I'm new to the whole Sephora make-up thing/trend. I have always bought drugstore make-up because unfortunately, I don't have tons of money to put towards myself for make-up, however, I do have some, and I care about how I look. I would greatly appreciate suggestions on the best quality of make-up without having to go way out of my budget. I really need help, please? In need of: Foundation Foundation brush Powder Powder Brush Mascara Brow Pencil Concealer Brushes necessary for all of these /\
Dose of Colors is coming out with a new liquid lipstick! This new fuschia berry shade is the sequel to the popular Berry Me. Berry Me 2 will launch on March 27and Black Rose launches officially on the site on March 31. Happy shopping!
While browsing Milani web site, I came across their nail polishes. The colors are beautiful, and they only cost $3.99. Has anyone tried them? Thoughts? I am thinking about picking up a few next time I am a store that sells their products.
Hey there. I would like to try out the Sheer Glow Foundation by NARS. Since there is no Sephora here in Germany I need some help to find the correct color. At the moment I'm using Estee Lauder's Double Wear Make-Up in 2C3 Fresco. Which color matches this best?
Hey Beauties- We have ALOT of threads around here for Tom Ford products. I figured I'd start one thread where we can update each other on items as they come out or we see them available. For all my UK'ers, or people willing to pay for shipping from the UK, Harrods has Softcore and Nude Dip from the Fall collection available right now. Happy Shopping!
My fiance and I ride motorcycles and lately I've noticed my ALWAYS oily skin becomes cakey and dry after a ride. We have full helmets on so I'm not getting too much wind. I normally use Make-Up Forever setting powder after my foundation and spray it with a setting spray as well. Any suggestions for a medium coverage foundation or powder that won't blow off while riding a motorcycle but won't cake in the sun either?
I'm trying to decide between the Hourglass Veil or Cover FX illuminating primers. My skin is sensitive (very easily breaks out), dry in the winter and oily in the summer. I have also developed these lovely eczema patches on my eyelids this past winter. Please help!
I have been in search of a foundation that will give me a flawless matte look. I have oily skin that is prone to breakouts. I want something that is easy to apply, buildable coverage, not cakey, and doesn't look like its melting by noon. Also something that is sweat proof or doesn't transfer easily would be great. Right now I am using Covergirl Outlast Stay foundation and then MAC blot powder to set it. I feel like it doesnt stay on and looks cakey up close. Any suggestions are appeciated.
I am 1.0 in Urban Decay's Naked Skin liquid foundation and I am looking to see if the pinky toned shade in the Too Faced Candlelight Glow would work for me. I like the option of having the two shades and the Absolute Candlelight will not work for me as it is not oil free.
It comes in 7 different colors and everyone's been raving about it. The colors are taupe, blonde, auburn, espresso, chocolate, ash brown, and brunette. I personally haven't tried the brow wiz yet. I find it super hard to find a color that matches my brows that looks natural. So far MAC's twist up brow pencil in "fling" has been my holy grail. If I find a color I think I might take the plunge and try it out. What do you guys think of it and has anyone tried it yet?
I have red hair and very very fair skin, I have a few several different contour palettes and they are all just too dark, so it looks like I rubbed dirt on my fact and the highlighters don't even show up on my skin because I am so pale. Do you have any recommendations for contour makeup for very pale skin?
First off, let me be clear I do not like beach vacations. I hide under a huge sunhat under an umbrella, and get panic attacks at the thought of the sun touching my face - even when I'm wearing Bioderma's SPF 100 + Institute Esthederm's 100% block! We do 4 beach vacations a year because the children like them, and I never have any idea about what makeup to take with me, or when to wear what. So I note that all the other women look ultra glamorous day and night, while I look ... lost. Please, please, please give me tips for what makeup to wear to the pool/beach/dinner/breakfast/bar/stores etc.? Specific product ideas would be very welcome indeed! Thanks in advance for any ideas and advice you are willing to share!
hi guys. alright, here's a little thing about me: i don't use powder. i have 1 compact, it's covergirl clean powder. i've had it for ages, very very rarely use it, and i frankly don't even know it's intended purpose (it's not translucent and it sets and covers a little). i don't think i always need powder. but there are days i very much do. i like a glow rather than a matte face (i work too hard on this skin just to mute it) and i struggle with dehydration even though my skin is typically combo/normal. because of these variables, powder scares me (past experiences have dried me out and highlighted dehydrated areas). but i'd like my makeup to be set and help my foundation look as flawless as possible. i can't be bothered with both a setting AND finishing powder, so, i'm interested in a few things: NARS loose light reflecting powder and the compact pressed version (i've heard better things about the loose, but like the portability of the compact, so would like to know people's experiences with either). i'm also interested in their new powders--they contain hyaluronic acid--but these may be too new for anyone to really report on them. the hourglass ambient lighting powder in diffused light has my attention, though i'm so pale it worries me as well. open to any and all suggestions and input. help guide me, friends.

I'm looking for a new bronzer. I am 45 and have light skin, light brown hair and hazel/green eyes. Ideally I'd like something that looks natural, but has some luminous qualities. I don't want glitter, but I don't want all matte because I'm not using this as a contour but as a true bronzer for the summer. My preference is powder for ease of application, but I would try a liquid or powder. Thank you!
To all of you ladies who wanted Heat Wave, missed it and don't want to pay an arm and a leg for it, it will be rereleasing in Estee Lauder's Summer 2015 collection!!! I'll update this thread with the release date of the collection as soon as it is available. EDIT: Heat Wave will be releasing in March with new circular packaging and the amount of actual product has been reduced. I personally dislike that they reduced the size and changed the packaging. The old packaging is very luxurious and classic Estée Lauder. The new packaging, frankly, looks cheap
I'm using kat von d shade 48... it's just a little too light and a little yellow for me. I love the way it covers and would like to stay with this brand. unless anyone can suggest a similar brand with this coverage. back to kat von d - should I try shade 49? this looks dark on the Sephora website. is this really that much darker than 48 or does it just look this way? thank you for any input...
