I like a lipstick, but some are drying and I add a gloss to help. I just discovered a new favorite combo ( Mac snob and nars born this way) I rarely wear one or the other i like the formula when I mix them. Let's share our favorite combos, maybe I can get some new ideas! Some of us have huge piles of lippies and we may find we have a combo we have never tried! This will be just for pinks... I'll let someone else take the reds and nudes. Pics are welcome!!
C'mon, let's admit it, we've all hidden make-up or made up what we use to our family. Remember the days for some of us where we had to pretend we didn't wear make-up and we put a lipstick under the bed so mom wouldn't see? Or lied about how much you've spent? Welcome to: Make-Up Confessions! (Just please don't tell my grandma about my extensive Guerlain collection! I think she may have saw the packaging though...) My grandma prefers I use cheaper make-up from drugstores... oh man, that VIB card is not going to make her happy...
Spoiler (Highlight to read) Boy oh boy, am I blown away!! Naked 3 is the absolute ULTIMATE in eye shadows! I have never seen such perfect pinky-brown shades, and I have looked far and wide. I have blue eyes, and talk about a color making your eyes pop? There are many, many options here that do the job. As a side note, I got a sample size of the Yves Saint Laurent Vernis A Levres Rebel nudes, and the 106 Rebel Anarchist shade turns out to be the ultimate lip color for me! Who knew? Sephora, I love you! Patty
Hi, I'm looking for an eyeliner recommendation from those more experienced with eyeliner than me. Here are what I am looking for in an eyeliner: Black. The eyeliner recommendation has to be a highly pigmented black. Easy to use. I am pretty new to using eyeliner, so I want an eyeliner made for beginners. Not too expensive. My price range is $25 and under. Thanks in advance for the recommendations.
I was on Reddit's Makeup Addiction and user MyLittleLabMonkey posted a sneak preview of the new Too Faced Summer Collection. I didn't find a previous discussion on it, so sorry if it's a repost! All I could find is that the launch date is in April. First pics are from reddit, the last one I found on a UK site. I'm getting married in 5 months (wow, that really snuck up on me), and I'd love some help deciding on my wedding makeup! Foundation/primer: In the summer I have oily skin and am about NC20. I want a full coverage foundation that will last me most of the day in the heat and humidity (we are doing a destination wedding). I was thinking MUFE HD but am not sure how this will hold up in those conditions. Blush: Would love some suggestions! One of the new Hourglass maybe? Eyes: Naked 3 possibly? I think I want to go the neutral pink route but am open to suggestions! Lips: Again, something pinky nude. MAC Creme Cup possibly? I will post a picture shortly!
Hi lovelies! I've been thinking of lashes all day & wanted to see what your faves are! While we don't carry any, I'm currently obsessed with Mink lashes. I love that they can be worn multiple times & look so fluffy <3 Here's my current go-to's
MUFE 156 Genevieve - Special Occasion lashes
MUFE 108 Allison - Major Drama/Nights Out
Sephora Collection in Flutter - Daytime Lash Loves
Hi, I was looking at MAC powder eye shadows today, in my search for the perfect under-brow highlight color to wear with any eye shadow look. (I posted a conversation asking people for eye highlight colors they liked a few days ago.) After I tried several different possible MAC shadow colors (such as Vanilla, Blanc Type, Brule, Orb, etc.), and didn't find anything that looked right, I spoke with the MAC SA and she suggested I try MAC's Pro Longwear Concealer. She said that usually concealer can't or shouldn't be used on the eyelid and under the brow but that this MAC kind could. She pegged my color as NW20 right away and gave me some concealer and a brush to try this out. My upper lid immediately drank this stuff up and I must admit that I liked how the concealer blended right in and covered up some red/purple discoloration. I asked the SA if eye primer would be used first or after the concealer and she said that the concealer replaces the eye primer. She suggested I try some shadows on top of the concealer and compare to using the primer. She said that the benefit of the concealer is that I may find I don't need to use a highlight color to get a "finished look" if I don't want to. (I assume she said this because the concealer hides flaws and smooths out some imperfections.) I looked at my eyes in the bright sunlight when I left the store and I couldn't tell the concealer was there at all, in terms of color, but my eyes looked better without the red/purple areas showing. The SA gave me a sample of the concealer so I could take more home. I just played with using it on one eye and under brow and my primer on the other eye and under brow, and I didn't see much difference in application. I do think that the skin under my brow is a bit dry (which I never realized until lately) so that perhaps the concealer works a little better. Does anyone use this MAC concealer as an eyelid primer? Or as a highlight under the brow (perhaps in a lighter shade than their MAC foundation shade)? The whole concept is a bit intriguing.
I have oily lids (specifically in the inner corners) and am in need of a great primer. I'm currently using Urban Decay Original Primer Potion, but am wondering if either Too Faced Shadow Insurance or NARS Smudgeproof Eye Shadow Base will work better. I would like to know which one you guys prefer and why. Thanks!
I'm looking at new eyeliners and I came across this set. Price is good and a variety of colors. I mostly wear brown liner because black doesn't look good on me. i was also planning on buying the UD smoked palette and ammo palette so I was thinking these liners would go good with them. Has anyone purchased these?
Hi, I'm getting married and would like a long wear lip stick that wont rub off also I i need a good concealer to cover a few blemishes from acne (i have a caramel complexion). What are good brands what do you recommend?
Hi, I am 14 and pretty new to makeup. But I do want a makeup routine that will be fast so I can do it before school and have more than mascara and blush on. I have brown eyes and black hair. I also have olive skin. I am willing to invest in products too. I love the look of like a 50s cat eye, think Kate Spade. If you could make me a list of products and directions on how to apply them that would be great. Please help me! Thank you so much!
i got this as a sample awhile ago and i really loved it it covered my dark circles under my eyes and wasn't drying like most other under eye things i've used . but i can't bring myself to spend $41 for something so small and also one of the reviews said she liked the sample but the product was different which has happened to me before does anyone know of something similar for a better price
I'd love to know what you gals (or maybe guys) use or suggest as a primer. In addition to longevity I'm looking something with a smoothing effect for pores and baby wrinkles. I am finishing up my Stila color correcting primer which did nothing for my slight redness but it def gave staying power. I had been waiting for months for sephora to restock illamasqua hydra veil buttttt it seems like they won't be restocking it at all. And I don't want to pay the ridiculous taxes and shipping to have it sent from the UK. I was looking at the Clarins or too faced. Any suggestions??
I have recently been reading an article that said wearing blue eyeshadow makes you look like a clown so NEVER wear blue eye shadow. So no blue eye shadow at ALL! Well I highly disagree with this. Blue is a graceful color. If you wear it and put it on right it won't make you look like a clown! I wear blue eyeshadow when its night time.
There was someone who was going to do a foils/small sample TSB. I do not believe that person is still going to do it. If they are, I apologize and will not do one. I have been in two boxes and loved it but I have never started one. If anyone is still interested, I am willing to try to start one. We can use the same rules from the other TSB. Please let me know if anyone is interested. Also we need to decide if we want to do this with a small flat rate box (I believe shipping is around $6.00) or a medium flat rate box (I believe shipping is around 13.00). If you are going to participate, please be prepared for the shipping costs! This box is open for US shipping only. Shipping becomes more expensive for Canada. Once we decide if we want to do a small or medium box I will post pics of what I will start the box out with. If at that time someone decides they don't like what I am starting the box out with just let me know. I want this to be fun for all. Once I get the box back I will go through it & give the leftover items to the local youth group who works with the homeless shelters in Fredericksburg VA. Hi I am from Minnesota, and will going to Kauai, Hawaii for an eight day vacation, in February of 2015 and was wondering if I will melt if I wear any eye make up, or foundation? I went to the Virgin Islands last year and didn't have a problem, but I feel this might be different then that, mainly because when I went to the Virgin Islands it was on a cruise and this upcoming trip will be directly on the island renting a cottage by the ocean with some friends. I also don't want to bring high quality makeup with me and have it be ruined by the humidity? anybody have any good suggestions aside from going to the Virgin Islands last year I haven't gone on a vacation aside from visiting family living in Grand Rapids Michigan since fifth grade. I'm kind of out of my element here. LOL.
I've had my eyes on the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector highlighter for a while and I really want to go ahead and purchase one of the shades. I'm in between moonstone and opal. If any of you have these highlighters let me know your opinion on them. I have very fair skin, which of the 2 would work best for me?
I am in a desperate search for this in shade #42. I'm getting ready to relocate to Singapore and even though there are Sephora stores there, I want this to take with me to cut down on the stress of finding the store and then locating this shade. Since I have seen inquiries about this particular shade so much on Sephora....why was it discontinued????
Calling all palette addicts! Considering a LOT of us all have the same ones, let's swap some of our best "recipes"! I do with some non BT friends and we have a blast. Hi everyone! I can't decide what powder foundation buy, I have the MUFE Pro finish powder foundation (I'm the shade 117 golden ivory) I have very oily skin and I feel the pro finish don't do much against that. Which one do you recommend?
What happened to the Make Up Forever lip shade finder? I used it previously to find the most perfect neutral shade for me in the Aqua Rouge line. I'd like to get a darker, more burgundy-ish shade now since I know I LOVE the Aqua Rogue, but the shade finder seems to have disappeared. Help! Thanks!!
So, last weekend a couple of friends and I decided to go to a bar/club in town to hang out. I got way dolled up and, in the process, discovered a new style of lipstick application that I love! And to be frank, I discovered in completely by accident while trying to decide what color to wear. So, I'm wondering, does anyone else wear this style occasionally? (Weird and awkward selfie included to show off what I mean! Not to mention, I'm a camera queen. )
My Guerlain foundation is a serial oxidizer! I use Tenue de Perfection and without a primer, I STILL LOOK LIKE SNOOKI. I went from shade 23 to 04 (ok, not much of a difference there), but it'll look fine with a primer (me thinks) I only got a few days to exchange (stupid online orders!) and I'm looking at the Joli Teint. Should I give my Tenue de Perfection another chance or switch out? This is the second oxidation problem since I had Lingerie de Peau. Joli Teint is new. I'm getting into fights because I really A. plan to get it for Chic Week or I have to use my VIB intro coupon that I saved from last year. Plus Joli Teint seems better in terms of formulation. It's lighter coverage...
