I have seen lots of new threads pop up devoted to specific brands and thought I would get some other opinions and ideas about the best of becca. I just in the last year have really fallen in love with this brand. We newest favs are backlight priming filter and blush in flowerchild. I feel like shimmering skin perfector is a must have for every makeup lover. I love using the backlight targeted colour corrector on my dark under eye circles. I have though about trying foundation anyone have any suggestions?what are your favorites?
I already have the Filmstar bronze & glow palette but looking into some of her other products. Does anyone have any experiences they would like to share esp with her Light Wonder Foundation, her blush and the Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder? I'm interested in getting these three things but still on the fence about taking the plunge! Please let me know, many BTers opinions have helped me out on products before Thanks in advance!

A place to discuss new, indie and not so talked about brands. There's a few brands I'd like to know more about but didn't want to start a thread for each so decided to start a thread for all those brands that we don't often hear about.

this tag has been going around youtube vids for over a year now, i thought this could be a bit of fun for us BTers on a lazy sunday. the questions are: 1. Favorite balm/treatment 2. Best eye-catching red 3. Best luxury & best drugstore 4. Favorite MAC lipstick ** 5. Most disappointing 6. Liner- yes or no? 7. Best gloss 8. Something extra (shout out to a product not covered here / a lip product story / your first lipstick love / whateveryouwant) **i know not everyone here loves MAC or goes for MAC products, so i figure for this question, feel free to say whateveryouwant or just skip it. i'll post my answers below as to make for an easy copy & paste. feel free to include photos if you want but no biggie. just have fun and feel free to cheat and give multiple answers
So I'm looking to buy the Dior Airflash foundation and am unsure which color I should grab. I'm currently about NC25 or so in MAC, and I wear UD Naked Skin and mix #2 with #4 to make the perfect shade. I was thinking that Linen 201 would be perfect, but not sure if maybe it'll be too light? I will probably get a bit more color this summer, but no darker than UD #4 or MAC NC30. Thanks everyone! I'm light with olive undertones btw.

Hi! So it's my first time posting here and I'm looking for an eyeliner I can use on my waterline and also lower lash line. I'm new to eyeliner but have really been loving looks with a pop of color on the waterline and also lower lash line. I love make up forever so I thought about trying their new Aqua xl liners but I have seen some good reviews for the urban decay 24/7, Marc highliner, and the nars larger than life as well. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
I'm going crazy! I swear, no matter what mascara I use or eyelash curler, my eyelashes refuse to hold a curl. I've noticed that this has been happening for the past year. They use to hold a curl and look how I wanted them too, but not anymore. I've used heat on my curler, tried a few different curlers AND used waterproof mascara and they still refuse to stay curled for more than 5 seconds. My eyelashes now look straight and always clump together whenever I wiggle the mascara wand. I have even tried applying fake eyelashes a few times but I'm awful at it. Currently, I use a tweezerman & cover girl eyelash curler as well as the waterproof Maybelline Full 'N Soft mascara.
So I'm turning 18 in October and for my birthday present I would like permission from my parents to wear makeup (I don't even want makeup for my birthday I just want PERMISSION.) My parents are the stereotypical strict Asian parents. They are very controlling over everything I do including what I wear, how my hair needs to be done, etc. So basically how they want me to look like. Makeup is strictly forbidden so far but I have an obsession with it. I've been sneaking my makeup in school and wearing it there then take it off when I come home. By doing this for years I am now pretty experienced with it and have done every technique possible on my face. Now you're probably thinking that I'm 18 and I'll be an adult and they have to give me leeway. However in the Asian culture, it is VERY different because you get to do what you want when you move out and/or married. The number 18 means nothing and they still see me as a 12 year old. I just went to prom recently and even my mom didn't allow me to wear any makeup besides a little lipstick. I am mature though, I do my chores around the house, I do my homework, I definitely do not party or drink or smoke. It's just they are very controlling (way more than American parents) and yell at me for everything. I understand they care but sometimes there are limits. Anyways besides my rambling... So how should I talk to them about wanting to wear makeup when I'm 18? Obviously I'm still going to be under their roof and when I wear makeup I am not going to cakeface (never did). I'll just do natural bb cream, tightlining, neutral shadows, and a lip tint...just to accentuate my features and look cute and confident. Please help and thank you!
So I am a big supporter of To Write Love On Her Arms. I have a whole collection of TWLOHA shirts. Every September is National Suicide Prevention Week. You are supposed to wear orange. Especially on National Suicide Prevention Day (I can't off the top of my head remember when in September that is). Anyway, every year, TWLOHA releases a new t-shirt with a message on it to help supporters spread the message that we are not alone, people care, and we want you to stay alive. I have three of their special NSPW shirts. But I don't wear them as often as I'd like to, and it's for a really silly, somewhat embarrassing reason. It's because I am ridiculously addicted to lipstick but I can't figure out what shade of lipstick to wear with these shirts!!! My go-to, fall-back shade is of course Besame's Red Velvet. But the shirts are orange or orange and yellow. Does Red work with Orange? I don't own any orange-y or coral-ly shades because I don't like how they look on me. But I'm willing to try it if someone can suggest a shade that is easy to find and not too expensive. (We're on a bit of a spending freeze at the moment) Recently, My brother-in-law tried to end his own life, so I feel more led than ever to support TWLOHA and their mission. Thank you for reading through this randomness. I am attaching pictures of the designs of my shirts for reference.
so I'm currently taking accutane to clear up annoying acne that I've had for the past 7 years. I use to have extremely oily skin so all of my foundations catered to that. Now my skin is SO dry and I'm in search of a foundation that will look pretty and natural and not make my face dry. Medium coverage is fine. Any suggestions would be so helpful!
I have hazel eyes and fair skin, but black eyebrows and eyelashes, what are some nice blushes and highliters? I know Becca Champagne Pop is a popular one, but that just doesnt work for me. It's too yellow on my skin
A place to post photos of whatever part of your makeup collection you want. All your black eyeliners. The nail polishes with the funniest names. Your summer vs. your winter foundations. All your perfume minis. Your most treasured items. Whatever. (Shout out to our beloved @Mochapj for reminding me to do this. Also, we can "at" mention people now?!) To start, here are all my mini Urban Decay lipsticks.
alright, here it is. use this thread to request swatches. the guidelines are up to you and your needs: single swatches, comparison swatches, specific skin tone swatches when comparisons are requested, feel free to provide whatever you have of that request--i want anyone to participate and contribute if they want to. have fun, hope this is helpful !
Thought I'd start a thread just for Viseart since so many of us LOVE them. I love to encourage a small brand as opposed to a brand where you pay for the name. The eye shadow quality can't be beat! ************************************************** ******* COMING SOON New eye shadow palette - Bijoux Brilliant on Aug. 15th Muse Beauty Pro Blush - possibly palette called Faye NEW PRODUCTS Theory palettes - Cashmere, Minx, Chroma (6 pan) Ribbons Boheme 02 (12 pan) (should be pulled from the market shortly) WHERE TO BUY Sephora Muse Beauty Pro Beauty Bay Beautylish Alcone Frends Beauty Price breakdown for those interested Spoiler (Highlight to read) Saw this on Facebook a while back and thought I'd add it here. A 12 color Viseart Eyeshadow Palette is $80 USD (before pro discount). Each eyeshadow pan is 2 grams and valued at approx. $6 ($3.00 per gram). MAC has reduced the price of their single eyeshadows refills from $10 USD to $6 USD each. So 12 colors at the new reduced price would be $72 USD (before pro discount). Add the $8 USD empty palette to store them and we're back to $80 USD. EXCEPT: Each MAC eyeshadow pan is only 1.3 grams ($4.62 per gram). You're getting only 15.6 grams of product, as opposed to the 24 grams of eyeshadow in the Viseart palette. That's a loss of over 8 grams of product. FINAL ANALYSIS: It would cost $119 USD for MAC to duplicate the Viseart palette (24 grams of MAC eyeshadow at $4.62 per gram and $8 for the palette). I find rust colors and gold tones look the best on me, there's so many palettes like that I have no idea what to get. Green and purple don't really work for me. I've been using the eyeshadow palette from the lancome holiday beauty box, but I'm extremely low if it helps. I could try something outside my comfort zone too.
A lot of the other big beauty brands have their own threads now, so I thought, why not NARS? Let's share news about new collections, feedback on products, etc here. Looking for a Mascara that doesnt smudge??? I have tried so many different mascaras and i find after a couple of hours there is black under my eye and it isnt from my foundation but it creates a terrible look.. What are the best mascaras that dont leave back eyes ?? THanks
So I've been struggling with contouring for a while now, and I thought I'd come here for some tips. So for some insight, I have an ovalish round face if that makes sense. This means my face is not so round that it's wider than it is longer, but it's chubbier than an oval face is described. Anyways, I especially have really chubby cheeks and a rounded jaw. It's one quality of mine I've always hated and I'm always trying to find ways to make my jawline and cheeks look slimmer, hence the need to contour. But I feel like I have ZERO cheek bone to work with and so when I do contour in the hollows, my face just looks dirty. I cannot for the life of me make my face appear as though it has definition. I have contoured on the cheekbone, under the cheekbone, along the jawline, in a swooping C formation..nothing looks good, lol. And the shade is not the problem either as I purchased the Anastasia contour kit and love it. I just wish I could get it to work with my face shape. Here's some pictures of me if this helps I want to learn to contour in such a way that makes my face appear more angular and tapered instead of round. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
i have very light skin (the lightest of ivory), blue eyes, and dark brown hair. most brown eye shadows look too overwhelming on my complexion. besides pinks and purples, what would be a good eye shadow color?
