I want to get into contouring and I have light skin with pink undertones. I've heard good things about Anastasia's Contour Kit and Smashbox's as well but I'm at a loss here. What are your recommendations? Am I better off buying a highlighter and bronzer (I don't want orange!) or going for a kit. Do the kits work well for light skin? From reviews I've read I think kits tend to lean more towards medium complexions? Let me know what you recommend as far as products go. I prefer matte powders. Thanks!
I tried many foundations (acc to me) from drugstore to high end, but any foundation didn't match me i tried sephora color IQ test thrice, it suggested me stilla foundation, i bought it hoping it would suit, but it made me look dark at least one to two shades dark being asian, never want to look dark, when i remove foundation half side, i can clearly see dark and light shades of my face recently tried Dior foundation also, same problem. I have combi- dry skin, with very oily t-zone and very dry cheeks, i am 26. Please suggest me good foundation which has many shades, that i can find one which suits my color perfectly, like second skin.
Hey everyone, I need a good concealer to cover up my hyperpigmentation/dark spots and I heard this one was full coverage. I just wanted to see if people on here thought it would be a good concealer for my problem areas?
Has anyone gotten the Smashbox Master Class III Palette? I've been eyeing this one up, but I have to wait a few months to get it since I've already spent over my budget for the time-being! ;-) I found some closeup photos of it and swatches of it online via cosmeticblur blog, and all the colors look so absolutely amazing! Does anyone know if this is in the permanent line or is it limited edition? If it's limited edition will it still be here in a few months? I just can't stop looking at all the colors and really don't want to miss out on this one! *drool*
I really like the Rose color in the lorac pro palette 2. It's probably the only color I would actually purchase. Is there a single eyeshadow out there that is similar? Open to both mid-end to drugstore. I was looking at UD's scratch, described as a rose gold shimmer.
So, I've been around these boards for a while but I hardly ever see anyone mention Elizabeth Arden. I was never crazy about any of the perfumes, but has anybody been to a Liz Arden counter lately or looked at the site? There are some really beautiful lipsticks and eyeshadows. My friend just purchased the bronzer and it is gorgeous. Also, the Ceramide line of skincare has been a favorite for a long time. I know many people think of the line as for "older" women, but I was just wondering people's thoughts?
Eff! I have a feeling the $50 Louboutin red nail polish will end up at my house. I don't hoard cheapie polishes so it's okay to splurge on a luxury beauty product, right? Sephora will be getting it around August 6th if I remember correctly. http://www.sephora.com/product/productDetail.jsp?p roductId=P388556&om_mmc=oth-tum-20140723-Louboutin
Lately I've been reading articles about all of these scary ingredients in my cosmetics. Things like heavy metals and parabens. Is this something to be worried about? Where can I find unbiased/objective information about this issue? Thanks very much!
I have a basic 9-5 office job, and lately, I've been over-doing it with the makeup! 1) because I have a lot of new goodies and 2) because it's fun! I was wondering what a good neutral/natural would look like. Show me some looks or what you guys wear during the week! Thanks :-)
I used to use LORAC PERFECTLY LIT OIL-FREE LUMINIZING POWDER in Spotlight - it's sold out everywhere - and I've heard rumors it is being discontinued. I realize Sephora no longer carries the line and Kohls now does, but again, I can't find my fav luminizer anywhere. Ugh!!!! I need some Sephora help! Pretty please! I have a medium colored skin tone (yellow undertones) so gold tones tend to look more natural than pink ones - need recommendations on what other options to try to replace my old fav product. I have tried a bunch of things thus far and haven't had a lot of luck. I don't want anything too glittery.... help... And thanks in advance!
Hello All! So a little about me.. I am 25, am more Oily-skinned than not, very very fair and never tan. usually have at least one or two blemishes - I dont think i can ever remember a time when i had clear skin. I usually used Revlon colorstay on a day to day basis, and something like MUFE or MAC for special occasions. I am headed to the wonderful Disney World in humid, muggy, HOT Orlando soon, and need some makeup help. I want something that provides some coverage for my uneven skin + blemishes, but nothing too heavy. I would prefer something I didnt have to touch up as often etc. can anybody offer a suggestion? On a side-note... I would love to eventually phase out foundation all together. what would you recommend for doing that? I have horrible self esteem when it comes to my face and I feel like that is my main setback... I look forward to reading your suggestions!
I know it's soon, but is there a dupe for this shade? I'm a bit afraid to commit to this one only because of the matte formula. I know people say they are not too drying, but even when I prep my lips they end up looking flakey after a while. I was hoping someone knew of something a little more hydrating in this salmon-pink-coral shade? Thanks!
Which ones are your favorites? I'm thinking I might try Nars Siam Matte Multiple, but I'd love to hear some other better( and less expensive ) suggestions. I want a true red and something that will blend really easily. Thank youuu!!
I bought the SEPHORA COLLECTION IT Palette - Color Spectrum because I want to venture into colors rather than just neutral makeup. Any suggestions on how to use these colors? What do i put on the lid/crease? Just looking for tips. http://www.sephora.com/it-palette-color-spectrum-P 384685?skuId=1564343
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide pencils are my go to pencils and I probably have about 15-20 colors. Eek! While I love these pencils and I won't stray for them on the daily I would love to try out liquid eyeliner. Everytime I try liquid eyeliner it's a disaster. I want to acheive that beautiful dramatic black line that I see so often but I have such a shaky hand and the stiff thin tips on the pens and brushes don't help. Is there a liquid liner out there for people like me? Maybe one that is forgiving when it comes to errors and waterproof? : )
I need to upload a pic soon...but I am very pale with rosacea (redddd cheeks) that I cover up with foundation. I just dyed my hair a light reddish brown. I am totally clueless as to what color blush would look good on me. I have several: Nars Orgasm (too shimmery for my liking) Tarte True Love (too red), Tarte Achiote (too dark), Tarte Peaceful (not bad for a light coral), Stila Color Converter in Peony (not a fan of cream blush), and Tarte Flush (too purply), oh and also a NYX in a medium pink color, it's not too bad. I really do love MATTE & POWDER blushes.............maybe someone could give me a few suggestions. Thanks!
Help! For years the only foundation that has worked for me is Bare Minerals matte and either my skin is getting used to it or my pregnancy hormones are in overdrive since it's starting to make my pores look larger now and starting to cake after a few years of use. I have red sensitive skin with acne scars and large pores. My skin tends to soak up my makeup throughout the day if it's NOT Bare Minerals and then I break out. I can usually use any powder on top. I always moisturize and use a primer beforehand. What is a good foundation and primer that I can use for my skin? I've tried Nars, Urban Decay Naked, and MAC foundations but I always come back to Bare Minerals Matte. Any suggestions on primer, too? Currently using: Bare Minerals Primer, Bare Minerals Matte Finish Foundation, Nars Powder Foudation for powder or Halo Hydrating Powder.
I either get extremely dry to the point where my face looks like a desert, or I get extremely oily to the point where my face looks like I went swimming in the BP oil spill. I don't see a direct correlation between hormonal or environmental factors, and I wash my skin with oil controling soap along with using an oil controling lotion. Besides being completely at a loss when it comes to controlling my skin type, I am also a newbie at high end makeup. I would perfer a light to medium coverage but I would like buildability. Also, stating the obvious, it needs to be mattifying. Any suggestions of a foundation and finishing powder that can help me out? To set the record straight, no I was not attempting to go for the dewey look in any of these pictures

In the last few weeks sometimes I noticed my eye shadow wasn't appearing smoothly on my eyelids. I tried switching up my primer and using a MAC Paint Pot. Sometimes I'd get the wrinkling then, too. Now I'm starting to realize it's probably just me. I suppose people start getting crepey eyelids around 40. Any advice on a treatment or primer that will smooth them out? I've tried UD Antiaging and it wasn't that great as a primer.
