Hey Beauties- We have ALOT of threads around here for Tom Ford products. I figured I'd start one thread where we can update each other on items as they come out or we see them available. For all my UK'ers, or people willing to pay for shipping from the UK, Harrods has Softcore and Nude Dip from the Fall collection available right now. Happy Shopping!
So I finally got this with my 500 points perk! Woot! I tried it out today to contour and brighten and highlight as well. But I guess cause Im semi new at all this highlight and contouring, my face was all red and you could see that I have LOTS of makeup on. So I ask, what is the first step before contouring and how do I get it to perfection? Yes, the steps are in the back of the box but I still dont understand it.
In the spirit of all the other wonderful challenges on BT right now, I'm starting up a nail polish challenge for us. I have a ridiculous stash and I need to show my polish some love. With nail polish, once a day would be absurd (of course), so let's try and show off a new look and polish once a week. I'm personally going with manicures only, but if you'd rather do pedicures or even both go for it! I'm eager to see your collections and meet other polish junkies. It's past time for me to commit to using my stash! Beauties, how Audacious have you gotten? I need to get some of these and am going to swatch tomorrow. I know we've all talked about specific vloggers and YouTube gurus that we love, but I want to see which YouTubes inspire you! Post looks, tips, whatever! For those who don't know, you can click the little film strip along the top toolbar (3rd from the right) and paste a YouTube link which will then appear in your post. I flippin' love this video of Lisa Eldridge doing the quintessential Alexa Chung look on Alexa Chung.
Hello beautiful ladies! I hope one of you is able to help me out with this question. So I know nothing about lip liners other than those from MAC. Now that I have run out of my beloved MAC Cork, I thought this was a good time to test other lip liner formulas. Can any of you tell me of a solid dupe for Cork? I'm super interested in seeing what other brands have to offer. Thank you!
Hi everyone, I recently bought the Marc Jacobs Twinkle Pop in the shade Leila. I LOVE the color so so much, which is why I am hesitant about returning the product even though I've had some difficulty using it. Even if I do a few thin layers to build up color, it looks very patchy on the lids. The color is not smooth-it looks like a layer of sparkles with a light tint(even less than an hour after application) Does anyone have any tips to better use this product? It would be much appreciated! Thank you!
have you ever had an a-ha moment after a very simple suggestion was thrown your way? i'm not talking years of practice leading to mastering the craft here. but rather when your makeup game changed for the better after a tiny tweak in technique and / or perspective. i was chatting with a friend about it, i realized i had a couple and thought it would be a cool thing to discuss here--for fun, and to share what could possibly be a-ha moments for others ! my first proper simple suggestion to how i approached makeup was years ago, but still after years of struggle to find a foundation that really did match my skin. a friend makeup artist told me i had neutral-to-yellow undertones (she also said 'olive but too pale to even tell'.... too pale to even tell will be the name of my memoirs ) and to try out japanese brand foundations. i eventually found bobbi brown, giorgio armani and nars, too, and that struggle was put to rest. my second ohhhhhh moment was relatively more recently, when i was advised to apply liner (particularly winged, liquid/gel liner) with my eyes open, rather than closed. this. changed. everything. for me. i'd always struggled because i have ever-so-slightly hooded eyes, and when i applied the perfect wing to closed eyes, everything was pointing the wrong way when i opened them. and with this simple suggestion, suddenly something i felt i'd never learn how to swing was remarkably easy and almost foolproof. same goes for eyeshadow (particularly in the crease) though to a lesser degree. how about you ??
Can anyone recommend a shade/color of the Buxom full-on lip polish that doesn't have glitter (or at least the glitter is very mild) AND isn't too neutral? *I have an olive complexion and a pink tint to my lips already. Thanks, in advance, for any suggestions!
So I feel like i've tried almost every mascara out there, including those primers before the mascaras and nothing helps. I have really long lashes and it's great and I get complemented on them all the time with people asking me if they're real and what not. The problem is they are stick straight. They look great for the first few hours but after that it's game out. I can play with them to give them a little boost but who wants to keep going that. I curl them, I apply the Diorshow primer and I feel like i've used every mascara under the sun but i'm still open to suggestions so throw them at me. Ones to avoid because i've already used them Guerlain Maxi Lash, Urban Decay Perversion, Benefit They're Real, Too Faced Better Than Sex, Dior Overcurl, Diorshow, YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils, and too many drug store ones to name and one that I thought actually worked pretty well but flaked Also, lash curlers, does brand really matter? And why is it that sometime my lashes will curl the opposite direction, like out instead of back? It's also frustrating because I feel like one eye always curls perfect and other always sucks, kind of like eyeliner, it's the worst!
So I don't wear much makeup besides mascara. I'm looking for a good moisturizer, since i'm starting to get fine lines around my mouth ,,, i think there called laughing lines. Anyways... I also want a good foundation, preferably a powder. I want to look as natural as possible. I dont want to look like i have makeup caked on my face... Any suggestions? I like my Bare Minerals powdered foundation, except I look too blan after, like i need some moisture to my face... plz help out... any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated
Has anyone with rosacea used the Makeup Forever Face and Body foundation? It's very hot and humid where I live, and I am looking for a foundation that will even out my skin tone and will stay put in the heat. Thanks!!
Hey everyone! My bestie is looking for a facial mist that is good quality but cheap. They've had some life changes lately, and money is tight. She has asked me if any of my friends here have any suggestions? Preferably drugstore prices? But I'm willing to listen to whatever you recommend. I don't use a mist myself. Thanks!!
I'm going to post a picture of me without makeup. Because hey, I love makeup, but I'm also working on embracing my face au naturel, too. None of this "I'm not wearing makeup" when you're wearing a tinted moisturizer, brown mascara, and have a slight flush to your cheeks and lips. I'm talking no makeup AT ALL (No, not even clear lip balm). This is me, about 10 minutes out of the shower. Anyone else brave enough?
hey! so i've been looking for a good foundation for a really long time and can't seem to find one. I've tried everything drugstore brands and high end brands, but they never seem to have the coverage that I want. I'm looking for a foundation that can't be seen by anyone i really want it to blend in with my skin. I also have acne scars and acne that I would want to cover up. Is there a foundation that can do all this for me?

I tried to attach a couple photos to my public Sephora review of this palette, because I couldn't find many pictures online, but they didn't attach correctly and Sephora wouldn't let me add them later. Lame. Anyway, here's the colors! No matte shades, although those 2 satin shades are close enough that they could be used as a transition/crease or liner without being TOO shimmery. Pigmentation, blendability, texture is all perfect, as can be expected with the nude artist shadows. Overall, I recommend this palette if you want to try a variety of the artist shades with a lower pricetag. I am bummed about the lack of finishes (I really wanted to try at least one matte shade), and I don't think the colors are extremely unique. My skin is approximately NW10-15, so I am very fair, but those two lightest shades are not going to get a ton of use for me, as they are fairly similar and I have other comparable colors, and I prefer a matte browbone highlight than something with that much shimmer. And the satin black is something I think everyone has at this point. The packaging is great. It's weighty, and the size is nice. (A square slightly smaller in length to an iphone 5, for reference.) 3.5 out of 5 stars, in my opinion. I would love to hear your thoughts!
I have a few neutral palettes and I'm bored to tears with all of them. I also have Kat Von D's Chrysalis and Monarch. Do you know of any palettes that have more eye popping colors? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Just curious, I thought I'd ask to see what makeup product others find themselves buying the most of. (For example, eyeshadows, mascaras, foundations, blushes... etc..) For myself, I am perpetually buying more lipstick than I probably need. It usually takes me forever to even finish ONE, but yet I still seem to be always looking at/buying more of them, haha! :-)
Hey all! I am looking for a good concealer to cover up ache without looking too dark. I am currently using bare minerals powder matte in fairly medium (C20). It's a good match but I have red spots and ache that stand out underneath. The sephora smoothing and brightening concealer in medium (06) is a perfect match when I blend it in but I am looking for something more substantial. Can someone recommend a good product to use?
Hi BTers, do we have a thread for this? I'm on the Tom Ford Updates thread and I thought some of us might also want to share on Chanel. Eagerly awaiting the Chanel Mediterranee Summer 2015 and of course what's new for Les Beiges this summer. Share some pics, news, what are your 'must haves' for Chanel releases coming up? I'm really interested in this nail color and seriously debating about the bronzer. I'm trying to decide what road to go down for bronzer, the new Estee Lauder illuminating gelee, or the new Guerlain Terracotta powders, or this beauty... As far as the date, I've been talking to my Chanel SA and the collection seems to be coming out later than they thought. I think I saw somewhere it would be May. Share some Chanel here The cheek stick…and the neutral nails :-)
So, I did the lipstick challenge with Greenchilli and all the ladies in that thread and I thought it might be fun to do the same thing with blush. I don't have enough blush to get through a month, but I figure I'll go until I have gone through all my blush. So the challenge is: wear a different blush every day until you run out of blushes or reach 30 days. Anyone want to join me? Oh man, I just received this in my email, and this is the first I'm seeing of it! I'm loving this collection! I'm a total NARS addict, and LE NARS is even more addicting! I already want the 'Starscape' blush, the eye duo, and the lilac multiple. Hopefully Sephora will get some of this for the summer as well... Anyone else as excited as I am?!
My skin has a tendency to be very oily, while at the same time being extremely dry and flakey. What product would you recommend that I use? I have very pink undertones, and my foundation tends to look extremely flakey, and almost like I have fish scales by the end of the day. HELP PLEASE
Hello, I am 23 years old and right now I am currently dealing with sensitive skin and acne issues at the moment. While I am currently getting treatment for my acne through a doctor I still have trouble finding a good face makeup for me. It seems that all the face makeup products I have used ALWAYS cause me to break out the next day. I have tried everything from maybeline, rimmel, physicians formula, and mineral wear. NOTHING works. I end up breaking out the next day. I like wearing face makeup because it makes me look nice and hey who doesn't want to look nice. Any help or advice you can give me in terms of choosing a good face makeup product? Also what would be a good conturing kit for me to use too? Please help!
