Suddenly I'm into liquid lipsticks…and I'm not sure which to get. So what are your favorite brands and shades…I'm not asking best because I have so many great items I never wear…then others I wear all the time. Thanks!
So, I did the lipstick challenge with Greenchilli and all the ladies in that thread and I thought it might be fun to do the same thing with blush. I don't have enough blush to get through a month, but I figure I'll go until I have gone through all my blush. So the challenge is: wear a different blush every day until you run out of blushes or reach 30 days. Anyone want to join me? So I bought a tube of Rosebud Salve a couple months ago when I was looking for a good lip balm, but I kind of wrote it off after trying it because I didn't like the texture, it felt runny. But I don't feel like I'm really getting good results with the lip balm I've been using, so I pulled it out again a few minutes ago (I'm having trouble sleeping and am a little bored) and it doesn't feel anything like I remember and I noticed the slight rose scent for the first time. Why did I write this off so quickly? I'm going to give it another go. What kind of lip balm do you use?
BeautyTalkers, we want to hear from you! Estée Lauder asked us to help name their newest Pure Color Envy Shine lipstick shade, coming to Sephora in February. What's your vote? Post it in the thread below by Friday, January 23.
Im kinda excited about this. Out now on nars, and will be available at sephora Feb 1, $48 comes with a pump I hope to find a shade in this, gobi in the original sheer glow was too light and i think the next shade up was a touch dark "This new formula creates instant polished perfection with full coverage in a single, weightless drop. Its uniquely fluid, oil-free formula defies the expectations of long-wear foundation, delivering full, natural-looking coverage with unexpectedly weightless, 16-hour wear. Ideal for all skin types and tones in 20 global shades that leave skin at its most beautiful. Yet this formula is also, dermatologist tested. fragrance, paraben, alcohol free. The innovative new formula features a unique Weightless Long-wear Technology that moves with skin, delivering up to 16 hours of wear while always feeling light-as-air and an Even Tone Technology that immediately neutralizes redness, dullness and discoloration to improve skin’s appearance over time."
Seems like liquid matte lipsticks are huge right now and Anastasia is joining the club with a collection of 20 shades, launching Jan 7th on her website and on Macys.com $20 each. Here are the swatches for your viewing pleasure I think the colors are gorgeous and there are at least three shades I know I will be buying. What do you think? EDIT: I basically stalked Norvina (Anastasia's daughter) because she's been wearing those lippies and testing them for I while and I got you some pictures so you can see how gorgeous these actually look... which might be not a good thing for us. IMATS LA 2015 is next month! I will be flying out there for about a week with some ladies from BT. So I want to know... who's going? What vendors are you excited to see? Any products in particular you'll be hunting down?
There are makeup and skincare items for which the search will likely never end for the beauty junkie, no matter how awesome his or her current product is. Foundation, concealer, mascara, treatment serum-- I'm always looking for the next big thing that will top my current favorite. But then there are products that spawn seemingly fruitless searches altogether-- there's a decent product out there, maybe one that's likable, above average, pleasant... but it's just not the full package. It doesn't have the qualities that make it HG. I'm looking for a red lipstick (isn't everyone?). Not just any red lipstick. I'm looking for the one formula, the one color, the ONE perfect match that satisfies ALL of my criteria: long wearing not drying at all not prone to feathering applies smoothly mostly opaque to fully opaque not matte (or does not emphasize lip lines) mostly neutral; neither too blue nor too orange Have you found your HG red lipstick? If so, what is it? What qualities does it have that make you love it?
Hello! I want to purchase the MAC pro long wear concealer but have never bought a MAC product (this will be my first and I'm so excited!) so I don't know what shade to buy. I'm currently using the NARS Radiant Creamy concealer in the shade Medium1 Custard. I was thinking MAC NC20 or NC30 matched the best to that. Im purchasing online and not in-store so I want to make sure I get the best match. Any help would be appreciated!
I know everyone love IMATS, but it seems like a huge crowd and I have some anxiety with very large groups...even when there is makeup LOL I want to go to TMS-NYC in May, but I'm not sure how to go about getting tickets. The site says you have to have credentials. I'm just a makeup lover. I can buy tickets, but I have no credentials. I could probably make up a "business card" but I'm no MUA, and it feels sleazy to lie. So is anyone been to this show? Anyone else going? I've seen YT videos and it seems a bit less crowded than IMATS and it has some of the vendors I would love see. Crown Brush MUFE &MUFE academy Kevyin A. Inglot Bdellium Graftobian ...to list a few.
I haven't seen anything on the Sephora website, but I've seen a few of these in some stores, so I just want everyone to see. I picked one up because I love the color red! Plus side, it feels exactly the same as the pink one! I haven't tried it yet but I will tomorrow *here's hoping it applies the same*

I love a luminous look, but I feel like because I'm pale (really pale) nothing is enough of a contrast to actually make my skin look luminous. Anyone have any suggestions of foundations, powder, or any other product that would achieve this look? For reference, I have tried and do not care for the following as it just seems to not show up on my skin: Benfit Watt's Up, Nars Albatross, MAC Mineralize Skinfinish, Bare Minerals Illuminating Mineral Veil. I'd like an all over glow, so perhaps a luminizing foundation (eyeing the Nars one), but am also interested in any finishing powders or highlighting creams/sticks to apply to my cheekbones.
I am trying to find out how I may attain the "milky white complexion that many women sport. Is there a cream that I can use to get that complexion. I have heard the term BB cream being mentionned, so I went out to purchase it and it didn't work at all. In addition, apparently many of these women rub on their body too.
I was doing some reading on the ambient powders. I'm probably the last girl on earth to own this. But there's one shade I feel like wouldn't suite me or look natural. Then I came across this. ..... Does this exist, ,? If it does where on earth do I go,.!?????
First things first, I have nothing against MAC and I do use their products (Powder & Concealer) However, whenever I go into a MAC store the employees have a "I KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT MAKEUP, YOU'RE A MINION WANNA BE AND YOU KNOW NOTHING" kinda vibe. Is it just me? ha ha I know it can't only be me! Please let me know what your In store MAC experiences have been like.
I'm looking for a burgundy or wine colored lipstick, mostly from NARS but I don't know which color works best for my skin tone. I'm not really sure about my undertones because my veins are hard to see, but I wear the shade medium-tan sand in tarte, so hopefully that helps.
To all of you ladies who wanted Heat Wave, missed it and don't want to pay an arm and a leg for it, it will be rereleasing in Estee Lauder's Summer 2015 collection!!! I'll update this thread with the release date of the collection as soon as it is available. EDIT: Heat Wave will be releasing in March with new circular packaging and the amount of actual product has been reduced. I personally dislike that they reduced the size and changed the packaging. The old packaging is very luxurious and classic Estée Lauder. The new packaging, frankly, looks cheap
I'm going to post a picture of me without makeup. Because hey, I love makeup, but I'm also working on embracing my face au naturel, too. None of this "I'm not wearing makeup" when you're wearing a tinted moisturizer, brown mascara, and have a slight flush to your cheeks and lips. I'm talking no makeup AT ALL (No, not even clear lip balm). This is me, about 10 minutes out of the shower. Anyone else brave enough?
Hello beautiful ladies and handsome gents! I hope everybody's 2015 will be a wonderful one...sprinkled with gorgeous shades of Marsala. I was very fortunate to be gifted by Sephora part of the new collection with Pantone and have just received it and had to share. Facets of Marsala Multi-Finish Eye Palette Pure Marsala Matte Lip Creme so far, I'm impressed with my first experience with the Sephora + Pantone Collection. and will post swatches in different light below..(and on the last page) Spoiler (Highlight to read) Left to Right, Top to Bottom Autumn Blonde, Burro, Desert Mist, Carob Brown Toasted Nut, Deep Taupe, Butterrum, Bracken Marsala Matte, Marsala Metallic, Macaroon, Russet Marsala Satin, Marsala Glitter, Chutney, Hot Chocolate Shifting Sand, Kelp, Nimbus Cloude, Castor Gray Cocoa Brown, Dusty Olive, Moonlight Blue, Red Mahogany Left to Right, Top to BottomAutumn Blonde, Burro, Desert Mist, Carob BrownToasted Nut, Deep Taupe, Butterrum, BrackenMarsala Matte, Marsala Metallic, Macaroon, RussetMarsala Satin, Marsala Glitter, Chutney, Hot ChocolateShifting Sand, Kelp, Nimbus Cloude, Castor GrayCocoa Brown, Dusty Olive, Moonlight Blue, Red Mahogany Also, I was watching Cora from Vintage or Tacky and she was showing some Marsala colours from her pre-existing makeup collection and that got me to wondering what I had...and what you have. I'd love to hear your suggestions of colours that are similar, dupable and/or compliment the new colour of the year. And swatches...please . I'd love to see this palette on every complexion, whether they are your swatches or from Google... Thank you Sephora for these wonderful gifts (and brightening an otherwise dreary existence.) Thanks everybody for sharing. Take care..
Last year, I bought some Mally stuff at Ulta. I'm not in love with any of it, nor do I really dislike any of it. It's just ok IMO. However, did anyone else watch her the other night on QVC or HSN? She was so obnoxious and it was quite a turn-off. Every other phrase out of her mouth was "cray cray"! I actually turned the channel. What do you guys think of her line of cosmetics?
you guys know i love my NARS. and i am SUPER EXCITED about this release. as they put it: "a study in nudes for eyes, lips and cheeks--daring, baring, anything but neutral". it's all very chic. it's live on NARS website and their boutiques, but i have no information on when this will be released elsewhere. if anyone knows, please chime in ! (they've also launched a new foundation, thread on it can be found here: http://community.sephora.com/t5/Face/Nars-All-Day- Luminous-Weightless-Foundation/td-p/1858795 ) i'm particularly intrigued by the "reckless" blush. i know it'll be mine. but this looks made for very pale skin. i guess this should be called "a study in nudes for very white girls" which is a more than fair criticism and worthy of discussion. regardless, here are some releases for spring 2015: lips : a sheer lipstick, liguria (i'm kind of new to the sheer lipstick world and very much wonder how a "nude" lipstick can differ much. i suppose this one looks warmer / oranger than, say pago pago). it's described as a nude caramel. this one is LE. and two lipglosses which are a seashell pink and a sheer silvery highlight color. Guyane: and Vent Salé (LE) cheeks blush in reckless. (want. want want want). described as "sheer pink shimmer" i think this is the pinker answer to the apricot Luster. eyes there is a eye paint in porto venere (a pale pink), a single in valhalla (shimmer shadow in pinky peach) and a duo in st paul de vence (shimmery nectarines; this one is LE). here is queen tilda in the collection.
