Tatcha Lipsticks
Has anyone tried these?  I just got an email from them announcing their Spring release, the Plum Blossom 23-Karat lipstick.  It's a gorgeous color (rose/nude) and I'm dying to get it.  But for $55?!!?   I figure someone on BT must have tried their lipstick.  I'd love to get some feedback, about their lipsticks in general and/or this color in particular.  I like their skincare, so have high hopes for this, but their lipstick is a mystery to me.  Any help?

I was chosen by Sephora to receive lab samples of all the shades in this new product from NARS.  I'm so thankful to Sephora for reaching out and sending me this.  I thought I'd start a thread where I can share my opinion about this line once I start testing it.  I'm sure I'm not the only BTer to receive this so feel free to voice your opinions here as well.

Best liquid lipstick?
I do this periodically.  I can't judge liquid lipsticks.  Yes, I can tell the difference between 1,000 red regular lipsticks but the liquid ones leave me confused.  So, to update my never ending question, which liquid lipstick is your must have?  Brand, shade, both, whatever.  Thanks!

Vent + need advice
I've had it with Sephora, guys. Some of you might have seen my posts last month when it took me three visits to the store to buy a bb cream and a bronzer (the MUAs basically kept telling me I'm out of luck with my skin tone and kept suggesting products that didn't suit my skin tone at all).   Anyway, yesterday, I went to Sephora to look at Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder and pick a new blush. They didn't have all the testers for Hourglass, so I didn't get to buy one. I picked up NARS in Orgasm because I ran out of it and wanted to get one more blush. The person helping me convinced me to get NARS in Torrid. It looked like a lovely shade and since the light at the store is crappy, I trusted her advice and bought it.   This morning I took a look at Torrid and it's SO not a match for me. I have a light/fair skin with cool undertones and I think Torrid would be more suitable for someone with medium skin tone. It looks orange on me, even pulling some red. Ew.   So, I decided to drive to another Sephora location, since the one by my house proved to be useless time and time again. I went during the day, so that I could see the products on my skin in natural light. I want to use the Hourglass powder all over my face.  The MUA showed me Radiant. It's obviously way too orange for me but she just said: "Well, I use it as a highlighter, it should work for you". Um, are you serious? The girl has medium with yellow undertones... I asked her to try Dim Light or Diffused Light on me. She applied the Dim Light and it looked fine, I think. I asked her about Diffused Light and she applied it OVER Dim Light, so while my skin looked nice, I have no idea which shade I should get.    I also asked for advice on blush. I told her that I re-purchased NARS in Orgasm and that I got Torrid but didn't like the colour. I asked about Tarte and Too Faced blushes because I've heard good things about them. She said that her favourite blush is TF in Captivating. I said that I don't think it'll work for me because it looks really warm. She proceeded to apply it to my face anyway. It looked horrible. She kept saying it's her favourite shade but, again, she has a very different skin tone from mine.  When she asked me what I think, I told her that it's definitely not a match for me. To this she responded "Maybe you should just stick to Orgasm then". WTF?    So yeah... This was not a pleasant experience and I'm pretty sure I'll just stick to online shopping.     I am a brunette with brown eyes, fair/light skin with some pink (I use Bobbi Brown tinted moisturizer in Light and Nars concealer in Custard). Help me make a decision: 1) Hourglass - which shade? After looking at more swatches, I'm leaning towards Diffused Light.  2) Blush. I love NARS Orgasm but would like to try something new.    TIA!

Sorry to hear about your bad experiences although I've had similar ones. I'm fair with neutral undertones and I've been very happy with Tarte's AC 12-hr blush in Glisten... see post

I am really struggling to find a good foundation colour!!
So first off I have super dry, sensitive skin and the reddest cheeks ever! So straight away thats an issue for me, and heavy foundations make it look like around my cheeks somebody has gotten a pin and pricked loads of holes!    So anyway, I have tried using to colour iq with Sephora on the website, but since I'm in the UK I can't go to a store. So I've done it with two foundations I've used. I tried with my Estee Lauder Double Wear and I'm 1c1 cool bone which puts me at a 1y03. However when I try my Bare Minerals Bare Skin which is porcelain I come up with a 2y03. So I don't know what to do and what colour to do with as it gives me completely different shades and I don't want to order something, open it and discover its the wrong colour as I would literally be devastated as I don't mind spending money on a good foundation but if its too dark or doesn't sit right with my dry skin I wouldn't want to spend loads of money.   Please can you help! I would appreciate it greatly!

milk makeup?
can someone explain this to me. i just don't get it. there was so much hype and i got the highlighter which was basically a glitter stick (and i haven't liked glitter like that since my 4th grade art projects) and the lip/cheek thing that was greasy. it's supposed to be high concept, low maintenance so why are there 85 products if it is about the no-makeup look and low maintenance. seems like they tried to manufacture a brand and make it cool and launch a bunch of random stuff...deodarent anyone?!! ha! but the quality is way off and the packaging looks very cheap in person (worse than on sephora.com) and doesn't even function properly. you twist stuff up and it won't go down. anyone share my thoughts?

No foundations work for me!!!
Tell me what foundations to use!!! I have very pale, red skin, acne, dry skin, and big pores. Throughout the day, no matter what foundation I use, I get dry flakes (usually on my chin) and then the rest of my face looks like an oil slick. I've tried so many things and I just want to find one foundation that gives me the coverage I need but still has a natural finish. Thanks!!

Drugstore TSB
Hi everyone,   I've been cleaning out my stash and have a TON of drugstore products I'd like to pass along to others, so I was thinking of starting a drugstore TSB for anyone who's interested.    If you'd like to participate, you must have at least 500 hearts. Once we have a confirmed list of participants, I'll ask that everyone PM their shipping address on to the person before them.    Since I live in a tiny town with no nearby shelters to donate to, Missey1973 has agreed to take the box at the end of the round and donate it to her local shelter, where she has taken a previous TSB. (I want to add that Missey mentioned that there are guys at the shelter as well, so definitely feel free to include men's products if you have any!)   Pretty standard TSB rules: Spoiler (Highlight to read) Rules DO INCLUDE: -new and gently used beauty products -sample and full size items are all ok -mainly drugstore products, but high end products are welcome too -labels for anything that's used/swatched -sanitized products if they're used/swatched -pictures of your proposed trades, and await the approval of a couple other members before shipping it off -the same amount or more than what you take -men's products if you have any DO NOT INCLUDE: -anything gross or items that can't be adequately sanitized -premade samples -less than what you took -Heavily used items (unless someone requests it specifically) SHIPPING: -We'll use a USPS large flat rate box for priority shipping ($17.90) -Please post the tracking number once you ship the box -Please don't hold on to the box for more than three days. Q. Favorite Brushes/Tools?
I have been in the process of revamping my entire beauty and skincare routine because I was way overdue for an overhaul...While I have replaced my three most commonly used brushes, for the rest, this is still one of the "categories" I am still on the fence about. Call me crazy but I feel that if you use something every day regardless of what kind of look you are going for for that day the way we might use a foundation brush or blush brush, I feel that is should be something you love and look forward to using and I'm looking for some inspiration to shake things up a bit. I'm hoping everyone here can chime in on what you prefer and how they work best for you (IE, gel, cream, pressed powder, loose powder, what level of coverage it gives, do they multi-task, etc). For the record, I am including tools like the BeautyBlenders, etc. in the umbrella term of "brushes" here.   Ok, with that being said: What are your preferred all-over/face brushes? Cheek brushes? Eye brushes? Lip brushes? Body brushes if you use them? Any that you use solely for application of skincare products? Any brushes that you use for an alternate purpose than what they are marketed as?    As for my current faves: Spoiler (Highlight to read) Sephora Classic Multitasker Powder Brush #45 - I use this for foundation. I like that it can apply full coverage as many of the ones originally recommended to me as "full coverage" or "can build up to full coverage" weren't actually achieving full coverage. I currently use it for pressed powder foundation but have heard from multiple people that it works well with liquids or creams too but I'd have to experiment with that some more before I could give any accurate reviews of its performance in that field. I have the Mini version of this for travel too and while it does take a bit longer for application because the bush head is smaller, it does work well if you are short on space but still want to create the same effects while out on vacation.   Hakuho-do + Sephora Pro - Wedge Sloping Powder Brush and Fan Cheek Brush: I just picked these two up recently and use the Wedge for setting powder when I do wear my liquid foundation on occasion but am still experimenting to learn all it can do. I am using the Fan Cheek Brush for crush currently but like I said with the Wedge Brush, since it is still very new so I am still getting adjusted to it. I love how soft they are and how luxurious they feel on my skin. Another added perk I discovered is that when I clean them in the afternoon or evening, they are dry by the next morning. Having a dry time of less than 12 hours as opposed to my Sephora Classic #45 brush taking 3-4 DAYS before it is fully dry tells me they are a higher grade synthetic that is absorbing much less water during cleansing and therefor also product during use. I did experiment a couple times with using the Hakuho-do brushes to apply my liquid foundation which I almost never wear anyway. However, I am so used to using a Beauty Blender to apply the liquid that I would have to practice more to really get the hang of this before I could really say how well they performed with liquid applications.   BeautyBlender and BB Micro-Mini: Like I said, I almost never wear my liquid foundation currently but when I do decide to, my full sized BB is truly on the Holy Grail list for application. I can build coverage as needed, and while it did take a little bit of experimentation to learn, I chalk that up to never having used anything similar prior to picking this up. I use the MicroMini for application and blending of concealer pretty much daily and love it too.    As for eye brushes and pretty much anything besides those three and the BBs, I am still looking for replacements for my old ones. I can still use the old ones as needed until I can find some I truly love but got caught up in other things and haven't gotten to look around at options at all.  Sephora Classic Multitasker Powder Brush #45 - I use this for foundation. For those of you that have a mini set for traveling with, what do you use?  If I have forgotten anything else you feel is relevant, feel free to add that in too!

Oily skin + foundation (Setting powder?)
I recently went in to pick up a new foundation to use in winter (I have a summer look I love with Dior Forever Flawless), but unfortunately I'm paler in winter and it doesn't have a match for my paler complexion. I picked up one that matched with my skintone in-store and that came recommended to me by Sephora staff (makeup forever ultra HD invisible cover stick foundation). I like everything about it except how shiny/oily it makes me look/feel after a few hours.   To that end, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a foundation that worked well with combination skin (I have dry cheeks in winter, but a fairly typically oily T-zone). (My color IQ is 1R04.)   Alternatively, I'm open to the idea of keeping the make up forever foundation if I can find something to mattify it: is there a pressed/setting powder that someone might recommend? (Flash photography is a concern of mine - I do need something that won't show up oddly with a flash.)   Thank you so much for your help!

Hello my fellow Sephora ladies, I'm looking for a new foundation. I've always stuck with my trusty BareMinerals but I want something different. I typically use a BB cream underneath my powder since I don't like to use so much product at once. I'm looking for a very build able foundation, I don't mind if it's matte or a dewy-ish finish. Foundation help needed!
Hey all. So I have a issue I need help with. I recently bought the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation and Concealer. I love the coverage and lightweight feel of it, but here are my issues with it, when I got hot, and started to sweat a bit and get oily a bit, it all slid right off my face (I used primer and setting spray), and the color range sucks, they run way to dark. So my question is, does anyone know of any foundations that are amazing coverage, sweat proof, transfer proof (if possible), humidity proof, and water proof? Does not have to be from sephora, it can be any brand y'all think would work. I have neutral undertones (not overly pink, or yellow) and have combination/oily skin. Thank you.
