I have a few questions today. Today I was planning to go to sephora. I was wondering if we are able to get a 15-20 minute free makeover. Is the makeover free? What will they do in the makeover? Do we have to purchases something after the makeover? Is the iQ foundation test free? Who do we tell if we want a makeover and a iQ test done and how long is the wait usually ? Can you please get back to me as soon as possible. Thank you?
I'm just starting Accutane. Mid 30s, have suffered since teens with mild/moderate very persistent hormonal acne. Already after four days I'm getting very dry. I've heard that the bare minerals Complexion Rescue is a great option. Problem is that I don't have a store where I live so I'm concerned about choosing the right shade. up to now I've been using pur minerals 4in1 liquid foundation in light, but would that translate over to Vanilla(02) or buttercream(03). Makeup isn't my forte, I've always been very basic about it despite the skin imperfections, so any thoughts from those with more knowledge would be appreciated!
Spoiler (Highlight to read) Hey all - I need some help! I start work at 8 and by about 1-2, all of my makeup has faded and started to break up on my face. I have acne as well so it unfortunately starts to peek through. Even if I touch up with concealer, it will only give me like another two hours or so and it still looks far from how I started the day off. My skin is pretty oily, but I also have dry patches that my makeup start to cling to by that time. I've always had issues with this even with using different products, but I currently use: Caudalie SOS Serum Smashbox Photo Finish Primer water L'oreal Infallible Pro Glow Foundation or Physicians Formula Organic Wear BB Cream Nars Creamy Concealer and/or Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer Physicians Formula Bronzer Tarte Blush Smashbox Photo Finish Primer water I've tried a couple of primers and powders with the above, but they didn't seem to make a ton of difference or they made my face super dry and cakey. Thanks!
My skin is EXTREMELY picky about SPF. I have found a physical SPF my skin can tolerate that I apply daily, but I guess I never noticed that SPF in foundations truly breaks me out until I recently started looking for more fuller coverage and longer lasting formulas. My go to's have always been Koh Gen Do Aqua and Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk - two formulas without SPF that provide a beautiful finish, but are not very long lasting. My skin is on the normal to slightly dry side. I have recently tried both the Dior Forever foundation (SPF 35) and the Lancome Teint Idole Foundation (SPF 15) and both seem to be giving me an irritated looking rash on my cheeks. Any suggestions for a good long wearing foundation WITHOUT SPF that won't completely dry my skin out?
I want to buy the Kat Von D lock it foundation and I have been doing extensive research on what shade to buy. The problem is that the shades of the foundation on the Sephora website looks different than the colors on her actual website.Color 42 neutral seems completely different. Please help.
I've been having severe foundation separation for about the last 6 months or so. I've tried everything that I can think of and I just can't figure out what the heck is going on. Currently, I'm using MUFE Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer in Hyrdation, MUFE Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation, KVD Lock-It Setting Powder, and tarte's Rainforest of the Sea Marine Boosting Mist. When I went into a Sephora get a full face makeover to try to fix this problem, I was told that my skin was "dehydrated" and that's why it becomes separated. However, I don't know how satisfied I am with this answer. I applied my makeup at 8am today and by 4pm I looked oily and blotchy and terrible. PLEASE SEND HELP.
I've been looking at the new brand that just launched at Sephora and I think that the eyeshow palettes look really pretty! Has anyone bought one yet or been able to swatch one? It's hard to know what the quality will be without any reviews...if you have seen them in person what other eyeshadow quality what you equate them with?!
I was sooo disappointed to find out that Dior had discontinued their Extase line of mascara and need a good alternative. Tried Better than Sex, Rollerlash, They're Real (different but better than the others), Diorshow, ect but haven't found one that lives up to Extase. Your suggestions are appreciated- thank you.
I'm just wondering if milk makeup sunshine skin tint has SPF? Some review say that it does, but it doesn't say anywhere on the product description. I received a sample with SPF 30 and I'd like to purchase it again, but only if it has the SPF.
I was posting to see if anyone has some recommendations on make-up routines/products. I've been currently using Smashbox Studio Skin foundation, Born This Way concealer and finishing it with a Becca loose powder. I'm never really happy with how my skin looks using these products (primer and finishing spray included). I have acne prone, combination skin, with some scarring. I wanted something a little more basic, then having to spend so much time on my face in the morning!
I realized that the last time I purchased any new eye palettes was almost two years ago and my oldest one being 3 years old (TF original Chocolate Bar palette). That explains why I am a little bored with what i have. My current collection is the TF chocolate bar, semi sweet and born bon palettes as well as the TF sugar pop palette and the Tarte Aqualillies (my absolute favorite palette) palette. I am incredibly fair (I wear TF Born This Way in Snow) with blue eyes and light brown hair. I don't know if it is the age of my palettes but the TF chocolate bar palettes seem to be harder to blend than they used to, unless that is my imagination. I am uninspired by a lot of the palettes out right now but the two I am eyeing are the TF sweet peach and the Tarte tartlette in bloom. I am looking for something that will create a nice daytime look but can go a little darker for nighttime if needed. It seems lately that all my looks turn out darker, but that could just be me getting carried away trying to use a lot of shades. I am curious to try more Tarte eye products as I love the Aqualillies palette and it is my only experience with Tarte eye products. Does anyone know if they have a new eye palettes coming out soon? What do you think of the two palettes I am eyeing? Are they good options or should I stear clear? I forgot to mention, I have cool undertones if that helps. Thanks!
I'm wearing a navy blue dress and I'm using the Modern Renaissance palette for my eyes. I have very pale neutral-toned skin, blue eyes, and very dark brown hair. I would really like something that doesn't need to be reapplied to often and doesn't look super weird when it wears off.
So, according to the laws of colour correcting.. Salmon/peach - dark circles Yellow - concealing blue/purple bruises, veins and under eyes Orange - dark hyperpigmentation and under eyes. I am medium skin with warm undertone, e.g. Wheat - 3N2 in Estee Lauder Double Wear. I have medium dark circles AND veins. How would I colour correct this? Thanks
It is finally the last day of VIB Rouge sale, and I am really struggling with which one to get for my last shopping! I know that I will love all of them cuz they are all perfect shades for my complexion and I am generally looking for great eyeshadows, but I have to get only one of these three. Which one is the best value and must have? Please tell me your opinion <3 1. Bobbi Brown Simmer Brick Palette - US$42 2. Marc Jacobs Object of Desire face and eye palette - US$44 3. Bite Beauty Love, Bite Lip set - US$32 Price is not the retail one, it is how much I can get these for for now.
I'm in desperate need of a pressed powder foundation for those days when I am just not feeling a full face. I often set my face with a loose translucent powder on full face days, so I'm unsure as to what would be the best pressed power to use? I would be using this alongside UD naked concealer and some liner/mascara/dip brow. My skin type is pretty normal, but gets oily from time to time. I don't want anything too heavy or cakey obviously. I was considering too faced pressed foundation, but many of the reviews say that it really only works best as a setting powder after using liquid foundation. So, whats the best out there? Thanks!
I'm addicted to Stila Smudge Stick but the caps are terrible, constantly fall off or crack, leading to dried up twist pencils and wasted $. I read I can re-soften with a little heat, but is the effect permanent or do I need to apply heat every time? Threw all my dried ones away and I'm trying to decide whether to re-invest in new pencils with bad caps. Also, the candle trick is described for wooden pencils but what about twist-up pencils from a plastic tube like Stila? Thanks!
Prom/Grad is coming up and I need a good foundation, problem is literally every foundation breaks me out. Tarte amazonian clay and the water foundation, Cover FX powder foundation, Estee Lauder Double Wear, Makeup Forever HD foundation, Too Faced Born This Way, Smash box CC and BB cream. I have oily skin and I'm getting desperate. I find the hourglass immaculate foundation didn't break me out, and neither did the nars all day luminous that I can remember. But both clung to my dry patches. So I need a foundation good for hella sensitive skin that will look good during grad!
Hi.. I am struggling with my makeup routine! No matter what I try I can't seem to have a flawless finish with my foundation. My skin is combo of dry and oily in t zone mostly. Currently using esteem lauder double wear. cleaning face with origins checks and balance moisturizing with jack black double duty applying makeup with a densely packed brush with a drop of boscia beauty oil Once I apply the makeup, I can't add any other products such as concealer, contouring, brightening or illuminating creams it results in shifting my foundation and leaving it looking patchy and colour has shifted My nose especially, I have a hard time keeping makeup on without it flaking off Please help! Thank you
I bought the oil free one in Bamboo Beige knowing it was too dark. It has very true olive undertones - not yellow or warm. It is very hard for me to find a true light olive color. However, I am acually fair. Right now I am tanned and this color is still 1-2 shades too dark. I thought I'd mix it with lighter foundations I own. Would Beige Ivory be a better match? In the store it didn't seem much lighter but it did seem less olive, and I need lighter but still olive. The lightest color is only a tad too light, but it's too bright yellow...I need a more earthy green tone. FYI, I am closest to Mac NC15 in winter and NC20 with a tan. In winter, Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet in 10 Beige is a good match, albeit lacking my distinct olive undertone. YSL in B10 is okay. UD in 2.0 is pretty good. All of these are a tad too yellow (as opposed to olive) and light for summer. I need very GREEN yet fair/light, which almost no one makes until you get to the light/med range. I dont like the wear of Makeup Forever, and their supposedly light olive 117 and 120 shades look more yellow on me. Similarly, the often recommended Nars colors are too yellow. I am a neutral, slightly warm leaning, earthy yet pale olive. Any ideas?
I've been having issues with foundation sliding off my skin and looking cakey shortly after application. I have tried every mattifying primer (Becca ever-matte, MUFE mattifying, estee edit pore vanishing stick, nars pore & shine control, tarte tinted BB treatment, hourglass veil mineral, smashbox, porefessional, etc.) and nothing works. I always pat the primer in rather than rubbing it in, as well, and this does not help. My makeup doesn't apply properly to my nose or upper lip area (slides off, looks cakey right away) no matter what I use. I've tried a beauty blender and several different types of foundation brushes. By midday, any foundation I try pills on my cheeks, and becomes very cakey and gross everywhere on my T-zone - particularly around my nose. Shine is also a major issue. Currently using Nars Sheer Glow foundation, but this also happens with tinted moisturizers, Lancome Teint Idole, and Smashbox BB Water. I also set with UD De-Slick. Current skincare: Olehenriksen Oil Control Toner, Good Genes, FAB Mattifying Moisture Gel or Clinique Dramatically Different Gel, and Origins GinZing eye cream.
