i was wondering what concealer would be good to put over the bobbi brown corrector, without spending a lot and that would be a dupe for the bobbi brown concealer that you're supposed to put over the corrector and would last all day?
I'm honestly always on a hunt for a better eyeliner. eyeliners that glide on smoother, that stay on longer, and is better value.. I have purchased and used the Bobbi brown's gel liner 2 times, but I'm not crazy about them. They stay on a bit better than Nars cream liners, but still isn't enough.. my undereye area gets very very messy after about 4 hours. I'm interested in the YSL gel liners, but like all other YSL products, the reviews are "too glowingly positive" For ex. their stick concealer and touche eclat foundation are nice, but they're not worth 5 star reviews. (at least in my opinion) Has anyone with eyes that are prone to smudging easily tried he YSL gel liner? (monolid reviewers would be even more helpful)
So I see that a lot of folks are not liking this new eyeliner, mainly because the formula is so dry that it doesn't go on smoothly. I tried this little trick this morning and it improved things greatly. The trick is gentle heat. You could probably just give the pen a little blast with a hairdryer, but mine wasn't handy so this is what I did. Make sure lid is screwed on nice and tight Place pen tip side down in a mug of hot tap water for about a minute Prep the tip by wiping it clean with a tissue dipped in the hot water and cleaning off any old product Twist and do a couple of test swipes on the back of your hand Ready to go It improves performance quite a bit, as the indirect heat softens the formula just enough. The downside to it is that it can be a little wasteful, as the heat will push out more product than you probably want. But I figure it's not as wasteful as having a $25 eyeliner sitting there that's impossible to use AMIRITE?
The lightest Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation is still too dark for me and I was wondering if there were any good dupes for this foundation and the wonderful formula it offers. I heard the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24hr was good, any thoughts?
It's not letting me post pictures-whyyyy???? Anyway, there is a new eyeshadow palette and the Rose Gold SSP in Liquid Form out! Yay! I really want to compare swatches between the pressed and liquid. The palette is all matte and really pretty, but the last three colors look pretty similar. There's info. and pictures on Temptalia if you want to go see, but the pictures are not uploading...
I'm currently looking for the best waterproof pencil eyeliner for tightlining my upper and lower waterline--I'd like to stay within about a $22 budget. (I do not want to use liquid eyeliners, or eyeliners in a pot.) My face perspires easily, especially during the summer, so even waterproof eyeliners bleed and smudge underneath my eyes--even when I use Benefit Stay Don't Stray primer below my eyes. I have tried Urban Decay's 24/7 waterproof eyeliner and Sephora's waterproof eyeliner, and both bled terribly. It does not look professional, and I hate having to constantly wipe off the smudges in the restroom--which is probably not great for the delicate under-eye area. I am thinking about trying MUFE's Aqua Eyes, or possibly Tarte SmolderEYES. Any other suggestions for around $22 or so? **There was a best waterproof eyeliner pencil question from 2010, so I thought I would start a newer discussion
So my UD Perversion Mascara and Primer came in the mail today, and so far, I really like it! While it doesn't quite compare to my HG YSL BabyDoll, it does give some nice volume (especially when layered over the primer) and lengthens my lashes quite a bit. Plus the packaging is gorgeous, all though not quite what I would call perverse lol. Anyone else tried it yet? Thoughts? Pictures?
Okay... not to complain but I was trying on one of my KVD lippies and for some reason for which I don't know, I rolled up the whole lipstick tube and there wasn't much product in there. There's probably about less than an inch of actual lipstick. I got curious and looked at the Marc Jacob's lippie and while there's not a lot in there either, it's more than Kat's lipstick. I'm not complaining about the quality of the lipstick... it's great I just wish that for $21, they could have put more than 3/4's of an inch of lipstick in there. I mean her Monarch palette size is huge... why can't the lipsticks be too? I just looked and the Studded Kiss has .10 oz., her original line has .11 and Marc Jacob has .12
I recently bought the HOURGLASS Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil, because of the great reviews. I was going through a Brow Wiz way too quickly. When I found out the Hourglass pencil is 0.014oz, for $32 ($37CAD), compared to 0.003oz $21($27) for the Brow Wiz, I was sold. If you compare the 2, the brow wiz is so much more expensive! You would pay $98 ($126 CAD) for the same amount of product! I even compared it with drugstore products and it's still a better value. So, my question is, do you have any other go-to products that you think have such a great value?
When Is the Sephora Favorites " Give Me Some Lip" Coming to stores? I would love to buy it but I dont want to pay for the shipping. And has anyone tried the SmashBox Pout Lip Color? I dont know what other makeup to wear with it?! http://www.sephora.com/give-me-some-lip-P388033?sk uId=1634898
I have rosacea and my dermatologist recommended using a green based foundation to calm down the redness. I currently use Bare Minerals is this a green based foundation? What do you recommend? I like using a powder.
Wouldnt it be great to have your own recipe box of great looks from eye pallets just like a cooking recipe box? When you want a certain look, bam! Pull the recipe!!! Share your best look, and name the colors/pallets by name! Come on girls, share your best!!
Hello! I have a question I am sure is asked a lot. I am having trouble finding a foundation, well kind of. I was matched in store for MUFE Mat Velvet+ in No. 20 Ivory. I do really like this foundation but since its summer I went back in to find something a bit lighter looking and a more natural finish. (I have Combo Skin that gets oily through the day on the forehead). I was matched with the tool they have now and was told I was 2Y04. Well now I am really lost, how do I know what color I am and how do I go about finding a shade for me with out having to go and try them all on and not get pushed into one I don't really like. When I go to find my color matches through the foundation I already have it comes up with 1R03 and a totally different set of colors. Now I have also gotten my hands on MUFE HD in 115 Ivory and it also looks good on me. So If you can help me out I would much appreciate it.
Hello makeup lovers! I'm looking for a new blush, but I have some requirements: 1) must come with a brush, for touchups on the go 2) powder, since I use powder foundation 3) nice natural tone, prefer pink or peach, I have fair skin (I wear MUFE Mat Duo in shade 200, can't remember what I am in MAC, maybe NC20?) I recently tried Clinique - while changing nothing else in my routine - and after 2 days had two large blemishes. I tend to be sensitive/break out on my upper cheeks just below the orbital bone (redness, small blemishes, clogged pores). I'm very careful about washing my brushes and with my skincare routine, so going to chalk this up to either blush (or maybe my Nars undereye concealer?). Here's what I'm considering - what do you recommend? Any other brands? Lancome Blush Subtil (regular or shimmer) Shiseido Luminzing Satin Face Color Givenchy Le Prisme Blush ($30 is usually my limit, but willing to try this) Thanks in advance!
