Hi, I hope it is ok to post this here but I have a question about how to spot if something is fake. I am asking because I really want a Guerlain Meteorites shade that was from 2 years ago and one eyeshadow palette I wanted sold out before I could get them and I have seen some on ebay and amazon and I was just wondering if I take a chance what should I look for? (I know buyer beware...but it is for myself and I am wanting the palette and I ran out of my meteorites in the shade I loved for years so if it turns out to be fake then it was my bad luck but I am hoping there are some that are legit....I have googled and looked for any info on signs to look for on the palette but I have not found anything...plus I see that you can get copies from Alibaba already on the palette and I was floored to see how many fake meteorites there were so I am just wanting to make sure they are legit if I can) 1. Guerlain Meteorites....is it true that they are all smooth on the inside of the top of the container? 2. Lorac Mega Pro Palette - Signs to look for? QR codes not working? Alignment off? Are there fakes that are really close to original?
I am looking for a nude lip gloss that is going to go well with my fair-light skin w/ cool undertones. I have White Russian (Buxom) which I love but I am looking for more of a browny nude than a pinky nude, but not too brown. Make sense? Haha. Thanks.
Hey guys, I'm new to this whole eyeshadow palette thing but I want one thats like really go to, so I'm having a hard time choosing between the Too faced Chocolate bar or Vice 3? Know they're completely different but I those are my options lol
Hello everyone I am really hoping that the BT community will be able to help me find a dupe for NYX Flamingo. I love the shade, but unfortunately it is quite powdery (borderline chalky) which makes it hard to use. I am looking for a dupe, preferably in a form of a single eyeshadow and not a palette. Here are some swatches: I would describe it as a light pinky-mauve with a golden (almost) duochrome. It looks more golden when applied over an eyeshadow base (top picture, right-most swatch), otherwise it's pretty sheer. I've seen people comparing it to MAC Rose pigment, but Flamingo is nowhere near that pink (and I'd rather not bother with pigments tbh). Do you have any other suggestions that I should check out? Drugstore or high end, anything is fair game
I recently purchased 'Dior skin Forever Compact Flawless Perfection Fusion Wear Makeup SPF 25' from Sephora store. I realized the box had a sticker on its product name, and when I pulled the sticker out[out of curiosity], I see that SPF 25 is erased on the sticker. What does this mean? Does it mean that Dior Forever Compact Flawless perfection powder is NOT SPF 25?
Hey my lovelies, Just wanted to give a heads up about the Stila "In the Moment Palette." I bought this palette several months ago, and it is so gorgeous. Pigmented and really, really pretty. It's one of my favorites that I can I use all year long. It's the palette I'm using this week. And the colors work all year long! http://www.sephora.com/in-the-moment-eye-shadow-pa lette-P300604?skuId=1381235
So I recently purchased the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H foundation in Buff N (210). I initially thought it was going to be too light for me (in color), but surprisingly, it blended really well. I need advice on the best way to apply this foundation. The first time, I didn't use a primer at all since I don't have super oily skin, but more combination, and I know some of these full coverage foundations can really stick to dry patches. I applied it with a damp Beauty Blender. Kept me pretty matte, but the coverage wasn't great at all. The next time I used the Korres Pomegranate Mattifying Treatment primer, my holy grail primer (again applying with a damp Beauty Blender), and I was OILY about 5 hours into the day, which is unusual for me...usually my T-zone gets oily, but not my whole face...it's like my makeup slid right off. I'm thinking of trying it with the Hourglass Mineral Veil primer and a buffing brush rather than the Beauty Blender. If I want GOOD coverage and to STAY matte...would this be a better combo? Or should I forego primer altogether with this particular foundation (again, keeping in mind I have combination skin, so I have propensity for dry patches in the winter)? Oy, the trials and tribulations of full coverage foundation application lol....
Hi loves! So I came home to my parent's house for the holidays and I have a limited makeup collection with me. I am staying for New Years, and I completely forgot my Too Faced Glitter Glue for the MAC pigments that I'm planning on using for my NYE look. I could run to Ulta and use my 20% off coupon and buy another tube of it, but I was wondering if anyone had an suggestions for an alternative product. I'd be willing to try anything out, as long as it costs as much or less than the Glitter Glue ($20). I also have MAC Fix+ in my collection, but unfortunately, I forgot that product as well. Ugh! Any suggestions would be great appreciated! Thanks so so so much! xoxox
This morning I checked the sale section and to my surprise there was a nice Bite set with 3 lipsticks. So I went to checkout and guess what... ITEM DOES NOT SHIP TO CANADA... WTF??? Bite is a Canadian Company. So I called the rouge line since I thought it was an IT mistake... and I was told... Oh no this is a holiday set restriction. WHAT????? So apparently this holiday set is only available to the US. Like come on!!!! So again this proves that Sephora HATES Canadians... we can't even buy products that are made in OUR OWN Country!!!! This is the stupidest excuse I have EVER heard! http://www.sephora.com/deconstructed-rose-lipstick -trio-P393240?skuId=1674266&country_switch=ca
My friends in different locations of Sephora have gotten color-matched for different foundations and were given samples with the help of a worker. *This is going to be a rant, sorry I shouldn't feel any anger but yet I do So I went to my closest Sephora with a friend and I wanted to get find the right shade for 3 foundations (Urban Decay, Lancome, Laura Mercier for combo/oily skin) and get samples of them to try to see if they last on my face instead of buying full sized and returning them... When I got colored IQ it didn't work well because it said my shade is ebony and I'm a pale to medium yellowed toned Asian...so I couldn't really use the number to find shades on my own... I'm not confident in finding the right shade by myself, which was why I wanted to get help ... They could have just told me straight up in the first place that they were not allowed to check my color for 3 different things instead of walking away immediately after giving me 1 sample of the first foundation (I said wanted to check for all 3) and when I came back an hour later because I just assumed they were so busy they forgot to help me look for the next 2 brands) asked again. A worker who went to look for help found the same person who gave me my first sample and they stared at me and were possibly talking behind my back. They told me to wait again and I was said okay, I don't really mind. So, I awkwardly browsed and pretended I didn't notice the weird looks from those workers. There were other workers there not attending to other peoples' needs. I wondered if they wanted me to wait so long that I would give up and leave. Later someone else asks if I needed anyone and I told her I was just waiting, so I don't need anymore assistance ... and she was like I'm going to find you someone now and then I followed her and got stuck through people (the location is pretty small so it gets crowed easily with strollers and kids) and she was with the same person who gave me my first sample ( who possibly talked behind my back while occasionally glancing at me)... When I got my 2nd sample after she found the right shade and i asked if could get a shade from Laura Mercier's Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer she told me couldn't serve me again and I would have to guess myself but anyone could get me a sample of it...Of course I apologized but I wished she told me before so I didn't have to wait like an idiot. I never got a full makeover, the worker just put some of the foundation on my cheek to check the shade and never offered me the stuff to remove it again...I just quickly put hand sanitzer on my face (I kept finding alcohol instead of remover ahhh) because I just wanted to make a quick purchase and get out... I was going to buy some stuff from Marc Jacobs and Bosica but after feeling like an Idiot, I just bought the cheapest thing I could buy to compensate them giving me service so it wasn't a total waste of their time.... Sorry if I was being an Idiot, I thought it would be silly for me to make myself drive to the mall 3 days in a row just to find the right shades but with the service I received I don't think I won't spend my money there for awhile... Thanks for reading long post...rant over... cooling off...
So I'm on the hunt for the perfect everyday mascara! I'm currently using Too Faced Better Than False Lashes and while I absolutely adore it, I'm finding it a bit too much for everyday use and think it's probably better suited for evening/weekend wear. In the past I've used Benefit's BadGal and They're Real, Diorshow Iconic Overcurl, Lancome's Hypnose Drama and Definicils, Diorshow, and a multitude of drug store mascaras. I got a sample of Bobbi Brown's Smoky Eye Mascara with my last order and so far I'm absolutely loving it, but was hoping ya'll could throw some other suggestions my way. I'd like something that is lengthening with maybe some volumizing powers as well.
I was about to purchase Immaculate Liquid Powder by Hourglass, but decided to try to find something less spendy. I saw that the two recommended foundations for oily/combination acne-prone skin are this Hourlgass and the Clinique Acne Solutions. It's too close to Christmas for me to want to go anywhere near a brick-and-mortar store and I love free samples, so I've decided to purchase online. However, Clinique's shade selection names are VERY far from helpful compared to Hourglass's offerings. No undertone descriptions, very vague shade descriptions. My skin is probably somewhere between fair and medium with yellow undertones. I'm basically a WASP with some Filipina thrown in...I tan very well but I will burn if I'm out long enough, red hair looks great on me, and I gravitate towards silver colored jewelry. I figured that Nude would work for the Hourglass foundation. I once purchased Kat Von D's Lock It Foundation in L46 and it was way too pink, so I'm thinking that warm/pink undertones aren't for me. And I have Almay Clear Complexion in Ivory 100, and that seems too light on me. So...Does anyone have any experience with the actual undertones and shades that Clinique offers for Acne Solutions? Especially helpful if you have medium/light skin with yellow undertones. Sorry for the wordy response...first post here, and although I know things are returnable, it would be great to get it right on the first try. Thanks!
What would be a match for this, if i wear mufe hd in 117 and UD in 2.0? I am wavering between a 1 & 2' My coworker showed me her 1.0 and it seemed like a good match. I am looking to go and get samples later
Hey beauties, its been a while Ive missed you all so much! I think im the youngest one one here, but you have all become my BT sisters. I started my first year of high school and its been hectic. I still remember becoming a hall of famer at just thirteen! Anyway, just wanted to show y'all a quick diy lip plumping method, with cinnamon! All you need to do is apply a little vaseline and cinnamon, rub a dubdub and wait a few mins. Then wipe off and apply more vaseline or your fave lip balm and there you go!
So I just checked Ebay and there are resellers selling these for $500-$600. One seller listed it at $799.95! Would you buy it? I personally wouldn't, the vault was supposed to be a good deal and at $799.95, you're just paying for the case that comes with it since all the other products aren't even limited edition! I am just shocked to see that people have actually bought these. Would love to hear your thoughts!
I'm looking to learn more about applying makeup. (namely eye shadow) But anyone can make a youtube video. So who makes the best ones? Especially videos that are good for those who know NOTHING to start with. Thanks so much!!!
Please help me select a super special Christmas gift for my son's 17 year old girlfriend. I posted this in the wrong category by mistake so decided to repost in case it was overlooked. I'd like to buy this girl the most highly coveted / Holy Grail item for girls in this age bracket. I was thinking of holiday collections that I like, (Tarte or Too Faced for example ) but considered that my taste may be far from what young girls prefer. I don't know her well, my son didn't have much luck prying info from her, so I don't know what her preferences are aside from that she wears eyeliner, mascara & occasionally neutral or light coloured lip gloss. Also, I don't know if this helps or not, but she's into horses. Thank you so much for any ideas or advice!

Hello! I am a beginner who would like to learn how to highlight and contour. I typically don't wear a lot of make-up just mascara and eyeliner, but would like to add definition to my face. For a beginner what are the basic or main items that I would need to highlight and contour my face (such as brushes, foundation, primer, etc.)? Any particular items that anyone would recommend for a beginner that is a reasonable price since I am just starting out? In addition, my face is normal but because of winter it tends to be on the dry side if that helps. Thanks!
I've been using one of Clinique's Indian pinkish blush (came as a GWP one time) with the MAC Cranberry but it somehow hardened and doesn't work.. I'm looking for something to pair with the Mac Cranberry eyeshadow because its honestly one of my favorite to wear.. I usually go for a softer yet defined look... so something subtle would be great. I've been wearing Bobbi Brown bone all over the lid, Clinique Indian pink blush lightly on the crease, and Mac cranberry over my eyeliner, extended to soften the harsh lines. any suggestions would be great!
