Does anyone here ever throw their makeup away per recommended guidelines? Below seems to be the standard suggested by experts, but aside from mascara I just don’t know. I feel like I’d be better off opening a window and throwing my money out of it. If the product looks, smells, and applies fine - do you ever toss it because of age? PRODUCT WHEN TO TOSS Powders (including blushes, bronzers, and shadows) - Two years Cream shadows and blushes - 12-18 months Oil-free foundation - One year Cream compact foundation - 18 months Concealers - 12-18 months Lipstick and lip liner - One year Lip gloss - 18-24 months Pencil eyeliner - Two years Liquid or gel eyeliner - Three months Mascara - Three months
I see so many girls on Youtube with absolutely flawless makeup, like Karisma Collins, and Andrea Russett, and I'm just wondering on how to achieve that look? I'm assuming using primer and makeup setting spray works? What would be some good long lasting makeup for sensitive, and oily skin? Any suggestions AT ALL will be welcomed!!!!
Male with amber eyes with a green ring around the outside and specks of red/brown inside that look normal brown unless light is shining in them..want to make them pop out (in normal lighting) without it looking unnatural or non-masculine. Any ideas? Eyeliners/shadows/anything? I read about metallics and purples and things but many of those ideas seem like theyd be meant for more feminine/stark looks
Hi Sephora! I was just wandering if you knew when the restock date would be for the Anastasia Beverley Hills liquid lipstick would be? I want to get my hands on a few shades but they've been out of stock for some time now Thanks anyway. Maria.
I need a whold semester on classes in eyeliner to every nail it halfway one day and not take 45min. What are some recommendations, I have dark brown hair and eyes and lighter skin. So black for the color. I always basically stuck with the drugstore glide on pencils with regular pencils tugging so much, and liquid not great for a shaky hand. recently tried a kajal i swore by, but it seems a bit dry in less than a week. easy to get on tho thick. I nonstop hear about maybelline gel point and use brush in kit. my hands wouldn't allow me the chance to succeed. Also, a lot seem to get rubbed of after im done applying mascara. have yet to find eye end or drugstore that stays
I live in South Louisiana...highest humidity ever! You can't make it to car without sweating. Feel free to give me any other ideas you have to make all the work i put into makeup last longer than five mintes!
Hi everybody, I bought a bottle of the Remarcable foundation in shade 36 Beige Golden online (I don't live near a Sephora so unfortunately I'm not able to look at in store swatches) but it's a little too golden for my skintone. I'm about an NC30/C3 and also a near perfect match to Too Faced Born This Way in Natural Beige; to those of you who are the same shade as me, what do you recommend? Thank you!
This is our Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid lipstick swatch + review video. We swatched all 29 shades on 4 models! Let us know what you think and what are some other products that you might want to see next!
Love this product! Would purchase for the brush itself. At first I was worried you would be able to see the difference between the pencil and my eyebrows, but it is so natural and long lasting. Definitely recommend!
Dior's lip glow is a favorite of mine, I go through about one a year and I absolutely love it. It's a little cost prohibitive to try all the colors, so I wish there were something cheaper I could try that's similar. I love the scent, the spf, the moisturization, and the light barely there color I get from lip glow. Any suggestions?
I have had trouble since I started wearing make up because I have freckles, I have Dark brown hair and brown freckles, This makes it very hard to match up foundation, powder, and lip sticks. I have been told I am warm, cool, and neutral by many different make up professionals. What is the best foundation for someone with freckles....I use hour glass right now. I am over 40 so need it to be moisturizing,,, Thanks in advance for help, Christine
Hi Ladies, Firstly I apologize if I post incorrectly or my photos are crooked. This is my first time uploading a photo here. I am having a problem with my Urban Decay Primer Potion (Original). I purchased it this past December. Previously I was using the same primer (UD) for over 3 years. I don't buy a lot at Sephora because I don't know what some of the best products are. I immediately noticed a change in my eye make up when I opened my second tube of UD primer potion. I hate the new packaging! Tons of product comes out of the tube at once, and the primer seems 'wet'. I am not happy with how my eye shadow looks. Am I doing something wrong? I am by no means an expert in make up application but I definetely noticed a change with the second primer. Perhaps they changed their formula? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!
I have tried flash testing from my iPhone camera. Not using the the front face camera. The actual camera from my phone. All the foundations cause a white cast to my face. I've tried MUFE HD foundation , smashbox 15 hour , milani 2 in 1, kat Von d lock it , Mac face & body, Giorgio Armani luminous silk. My mosturizor doesnt have SPF in it. I have tried these foundations with nothing else under or over it to just test the flash back on the foundations. Everything seems to cause a white cast. What am I doing wrong? These foundations shouldn't be causing a white cast.
So I really want to recreate this eye makeup look that Angelia Jolie is wearing, but cant distinguished the colors that were used. Any help, and ideas for colors for the eyeliner, and eye shadow, and lip.
I have very fair skin & color matched as Sephora's lightest 1Y01. I can't seem to find anything that works for me. I am so frustrated. I wrote a post on here once before and received a few recommendations that gave me hope but alas, my face is the same pain in the butt per usual. Not only is my skin fair, but also red and covered in hyperpigmentation from old acne. I also have a bit of ice pick scarring , large pores, and genetic dark circles. Every foundation I try is either too dark or emphasizes the wrong areas. -Makeup Forever Mat Velvet + in Alabaster 15 is what I'm currently using but it seems to move/powder a bit? It's the perfect color when I first put it on but then it oxidizes and is too dark! I'm thinking about switching to a primer like Benefit's Porefessional to see if that helps when worn under the foundation but I'm frustrated. I've been using Nars Chantilly which I like & prefer to the Urban Decay naked concealer. I don't know if I should try mixing with a white foundation but I feel like I should be able to find something that works for me if I'm paying so much money otherwise why not just mix through the drugstore? My large pores & ice pick scarring are also especially on the apples of my cheeks/cheeks and nose so they're front and center. I don't know if something like bare minerals matte foundation would work or be too dark. Any suggestions/insight would be greatly appreciated!
I'm looking for a new lipstick but I just can't seem to find the right shade now I'm more tanned. I'm an absolute Mac lipstick addict, but I find nearly all of their nude shades are more warm toned on me, rather than cool toned, which suits me much better judging by a few liquid lipsticks I've tried lately, but I'm looking for a lipstick (matte/glossy etc I don't mind the finish) so can I be cheeky and ask for some swatch pictures or links of any recommendations? I'm a medium skin tone and don't want anything too light Hopefully I can get some suggestions here ! Also, what's your favourite nude lipstick?
My eyes are this color https://www.google.com/search?q=green+eye+with+bro wn+pupil&espv=2&biw=1920&bih=911&source=lnms&tbm=i ... My eyes are dark forresty green and have brown rings around the pupils. I want to try a lipstick that will emphasize them. Is there a way to do that? Thanks!
Hi! I'm looking for a blush that is a similar shade to Sephora's rose petal no. 08. I believe rose petal has been discontinued so even if it is a different brand if anyone knows of a product similar I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
Hello! I've been playing with the Armani Luminous Silk foundation and while I like how natural it looks, I find that I really struggle with longevity with this foundation. I've got dry/dehydrated, sensitive/reactive skin and while this doesn't irritate or cause break-outs, it does wear off very quickly by the end of the day. I've heard that allegedly this foundation has a primer built in, but I don't think it does anything for longevity. For dry/dehydrated ladies that wear this, do you use a primer with it? If so, which one? If not, do you use anything to beef up the longevity (e.g.: powder, etc.)? Thank you!
Ok so I finally got through my stash of the Too Faced Secret To No Makeup palettes that I owned and I went to order more but I see they are no longer available. I love these palettes for traveling so I am now wondering what I can use to replace these? I adored these palettes. Any suggestions of a similar palette? I do prefer the creamy palettes versus powder due to my skin type. Does anyone know if they are going to bring these back out? Thanks heaps to everyone in advance for help.
I'm having an extremely odd allergic reaction and I can't get an appointment with a doctor until August, so I'm hoping some of you fab folks have some insight. My issue is primer and only on my lids. I used to use UD Primer Potion and, when they changed the formula, I began having a reaction. I then tried Trish McEvoy and also had a reaction. Both contained silicone (dimethicone in UD, cyclopentasiloxane in Trish McEvoy). I then tried Too Faced Glitter Glue, which does not contain silicone in any form, and had a reaction to that. My fiancé and I scoured the ingredients of the three, and the only ingredient they all have in common is phenoxyethanol. Anyone ever heard of an allergy to this?? I'm trying now to find a primer that doesn't contain phenoxyethanol, which is possible, but I'm just so tired of trying something, doing my makeup, and 3 hours later having to take it off because my lids are red, swollen, and itchy. Plus, then I can't wear any eye makeup for a week and it's really annoying.
Can someone please reccomend a setting powder to use under my eyes and set my concealer? If I don't use powder my concealer creases and does not last, if I do use a powder it tends to make my skin look dry and show all of my fine lines. At 38 I want to 10 years younger not 15 older. Help!
I'd so appreciate your recommendations. I got the Mirana lipstick (Urban Decay, Looking Glass), but since it's so much darker than anything I have none of my lipliners work. I have an uneven lip line, so am really hoping for your help. Thank you so much!
