I have fair skin but it tends to have a lot of redness. My t-zone can get oily but I also get a lot of oiliness on my nose. I like a more matte look and full coverage. Any suggestions? Let me know if any other info would be helpful.
Just wanted to spread the good news that Illamasqua is having a 50-70% off sale over on their site right now. Prime opportunity for us USA residents to get some deals on products we can't have in store anymore. I plan on taking advantage and getting my precious havoc eyeliner in bulk on sale for $13. What will you buy?
SO EXCITED!! 11/28/14, they are coming out with 50 LE miniature lipsticks, selling at $32 each. I need them all. A snippet from an article about them: " In the Lips & Boys lineup, there are 10 shade ranges, encompassing nude browns, violets and plums, metallics, reds and light pinks. The high-pigment shades are done in a base of soja seed extract, Brazilian murumuru butter and chamomile flower oil. Thirty-six offerings are new shades; 10 are from Velvet Suede, Ford’s current seasonal color story, and four are from previous seasons. Ford predicted bestsellers will include Tomas, a coral hue; Matthew, a coral pink; Flynn, a light pink; Giacomo, a deep rose, and Patrick, a muted coral pink. Each clutch-size lipstick will retail for $32. The lipsticks can also be packaged in sets of any three hues in the collection."
In the article posted in the Glossy dated 12/12/14, Pro artist Chris Sams makes reference to a Color IQ Lip guide that can give recommended lip shades in a variety of finishes if you know your IQ number. Does anyone know how to access it? I don't believe my local store has one.
I didn't know exactly where to post this but here goes. For any of you interested in buying Naked 3 or already own it like I do.. I bought the Naked 3 as soon as it came out, I remember having to wait two weeks for it because it got delayed during bad weather some place. I received it, and that excitement wore off real quick. I swatched it and was happy with the colors.. but once it was on my eyes, I wasn't blown away. So, there's one makeup product that I got caught up in the hype with and it ended up being a boring ol' thing. It's easily one of the very few palettes that doesn't get any love. I think in total I've used it four times. The last time I had used it, I noticed 3 of the shadows popped out. It has never been dropped, ever.. yet here's these shadows popping out. Then another. WELL. They were so easy to depot, I just did so right now and put them in a Z palette provided by the wonderful DiVWA. I took all of them out because quite frankly, they were all pretty lose. Why do i care so much about an item I don't actually use? Because, I paid money for it, and for the amount it's worth, I shouldn't have problems with it coming off its palette. It doesn't get hit by direct sunlight so it's not like that's what caused the sticky glue to wear off. I don't recommend this palette to anyone, the colors i'm sure you can find dupes of, but if you want something that stays put, the packaging isn't going to protect your shadows if it DOES fall. I just wish it weren't too late for me to return this item, but it is, unfortunately.
Hello there, I need help with my face!! I have very pale skin, like "Dita Von Teese" pale but with freckles. I also have an extremely neutral undertone, there are no pinks or yellows in my skin. My skin type is combination, I get pretty oily in my T-zone and I am normal everywhere else, can get dry and red with the occasional break out. My current routine gives me a very matte finish, and since I'm so pale it pretty much makes me look dead... I need a new PRIMER, FOUNDATION, POWDER routine that looks natural!! Not too matte and not too dewy. I would prefer a light to medium coverage so if I do get oily I don't turn into a grease ball monster. I have tried two products so far that have failed, the Smashbox Halo powder and the Lancome Nude Miracle foundation. I wanted to love them both, but the lightest shades were both too dark for my skin and also too drying and matte. Any recommendations would be extremely helpful, thank you!!

So I'm starting to think I need some concealer. Generally, I have always had really good skin. But lately, I have a spot on my chin and neck that is always broke out. I'm not sure who the best brands are for concealer. Something easy would be good. Any recommendations? I'm gonna have to get a color match because I'm also clueless about what shade I would wear. So far, online, I've looked at NARS and Stila. Thanks!!
Hiya. I went it to try the Hourglass Veil Foundation, I was colour matched to Porcelain, but both the shop assistant and I agreed it was much too dark. She then asked what foundation I usually use, and when I mentioned it was NARS Santa Fe, she was shocked. She told me I have "the weirdest skin undertones" she's ever seen. Basically, why does something meant for pale people come up incredibly dark on my skin, while something meant for medium skin tones work? I'm a neutral undertone and I guess a light-medium skin tone? I can provide a half makeup/half no makeup face if it's wanted. Cheers xoxo
I am absolutely obsessed with getting the entire collection, it all looks so perfect for the usual makeup style I go with, plus I'm a shameless fan of the series. I even went in to a Sephora nearby [10 miles away!] on Christmas Eve to see if they possibly had any out. They said they had it in stock but they couldn't sell any yet because it wasn't released, which I know is today. So I've been waiting for the online order version to go from only VIB ROUGE to open to all, and it hasn't. How long does it usually take for things to be released online, if they are at all?
So I've been waiting for a few of the MUFE pro shadows that are OOS, set up email notification for the ones I want so I know asap if they are back, but seriously it's been a few months and rather than the few I'm after turning up again it seems like more and more of the shadows are joining the ranks of the OOS! It's as though the makeup deities are against letting me have what I want! Do I just keep waiting? Would whining to someone employed by Sephora help? Logically it seems like the better course of action is to find another brand of shadows to try out - UD singles look like they might be a promising option...maybe...As long as I don't have to get one of the naked palettes. I know, I know, everyone and their mother's cousin's sister's half-niece loves at least one of the three naked palettes - but I don't. The naked palettes and the matte naked basics feature a ton of shades that I realistically know I'd never use, so why spend all that money just for the few shades I'd want? (whispers-like-they-do-on-stage-or-when-drunk-and- the-music-suddenly-stops: grey is actually a neutral too, make up manufacturer people, just sayin'...) I tend to be drawn to brands that provide me the ability to choose my own color options so I don't feel like I'm trying to pick the least awful or half-decent option from a group of palettes that are someone else's idea of colors that work together. So, anyone have any advice? Opinions on the UD singles? Would rather I take my novel-length postings elsewhere? (You could just tell me in a PM if the last one is the case, you know...)
What are your favorite Tom Ford Makeup products? And what are your experiences with the brand? Makeup brush inputs will help tremendously as well! Do you own any? If you do why do you buy his line? If you don't have any products, what is stopping you from purchasing his line?
Merry Christmas everyone, A few days ago I purchased this foundation. I think it's pretty decent, the only issue I have is the application to my face. When I apply this foundation I take my time meticulously and do it in sections as to try and get an even layer/look. But when I leave the house and look in a mirror somewhere else, this foundation is clumped in some areas, looks almost scaly in some areas (around eyes and nose, YIKES!) some parts of my face look like there's no foundation at all. It's happened with the past 3 foundations I've tried and I returned them all thinking the foundation didn't apply well but I'm starting to think it's actually my brush... My question to you is: Do you use this foundation? What brush do you find gives you the best even application? The brush I'm using is a realTechniques expert face brush. I've tried moisturizing (with 2 different kinds even) before applying makeup as well as not moisturizing at all and got the same effect. I clean my brush very often so it's not because my brush is dirty either. Thanks for your input!
Hi there guys, I've been on the hunt for my holy grail foundation and i just cant seem to find the right one. I've tried various of foundations, i think almost the entire store of sephora and still no luck. My skin is currently semi-okay, currently using something similar to retina. When I apply foundation, I make sure to moisturize before with clinique dramatically different gel, and I still somehow get dry spots on my cheek, I mainly just use a beauty blender but I'm open to buying a new brush. Could anyone recommend a foundation and brush that'll help with pores and oily/combination skin that somehow gets dry spots? I'm also wondering if MAC's studio fix concealer is good at hiding pores aswell
Happy Monday all! So I'm at my wits end here. I never noticed over time just how small/thin (I'm not even sure what the correct word is) my upper lip is. I noticed most recently when playing w/ lippies and then taking a pic that when I smile my upper lip literally disappears. It looks very odd...I would never had said I had full lips in the past, but I don't recall this. I continue to get frustrated w/ this and just give up w/ a lippie all together. I searched techniques to make my upper lip more pronounced. I've tried applying a bit of concealer/foundation and lining the top, but only a portion of the bottom, but Nada!. Any of my lovely ladies have some tips, or can direct me towards some? I've got so many pretty lippies I want to wear, but as I said it just looks quite odd. Thanx in advance. ~KAM
Edit: I now have Rapture, Naked, and Catfight. If you have any other colors other than those or the ones in the Full Frontal set, I'm interested in a trade still. I have various minis: either mini in the Black Friday KVD set; Lolita and one I cant remember but I'll look when I can. I also have the lipglosses in the Bite Black Friday set, and 3 of the full sized (I think) Bite lip pencils in the tin. I only kept one from that set. I'll post colors when I can or PM me. Thanks guys. I'm not sure if others are interested? Ebay is way too high to buy freebies when I know there is a possiblility of Bters willing to trade!
Hi my wonderful BT friends! I'm thinking about starting to wear falsies, and I'm not sure where to start. Does anyone have any recommendations for brands and styles? I'm looking for lashes under $20 to start with, and I'm interested in a "natural" fluffy/fluttery look, as well as more dramatic lashes. I'll attach a photo so you can see my eye shape. My eyes aren't deep-set or hooded, but I'm not sure which lashes would be best. TIA!!!
Oky doky. I've been browsing for hours trying to find something exotic or new to try. I almost bought the alaska glacial mud, mostly because that is my home state, but had a bad feeling so didn't buy it. Does anyone have any recommendations for any products that you just never hear about?
Beauties, how Audacious have you gotten? I need to get some of these and am going to swatch tomorrow. If you have Audacious lippies, show us what colors you've picked up, and share what other colors you're still lusting after. Just from looking at swatch sheets last month, (on Temptalia I think) I saw about 15 I wanted How about you? Also, hat tip to jemly for inspiring this thread
