I've been using bare minerals for years and decided I need something with more coverage. I just recently had a custom makeover and I LOVED how the sephora makeup artist did my makeup - my skin looked flawless and airbrushed! I have combination oily skin with large pores on my nose and a few dark spots from acne. I purchased all of the products she used on me - hourglass mineral veil primer, hourglass foundation and brush, hourglass ambient light bronzer and nars creamy concealer among a few other things..... I CANNOT redo my makeup the same way!! It settles in my pores immediately, and my face basically becomes an oil slick by lunchtime, especially my nose and forehead! What am I doing wrong? I'm so upset bc I love how she did my makeup and these hourglass products are not cheap! I really want to love everything I just bought! Help!! Thanks all!
Love the Ciate Triple Shot mascara but it is impossible to completely remove using Sephora eye makeup remover (rubbing, washing, rubbing again) anyone tried anything else as I'm tired of using so much remover and cotton pads everyday
I never wear anything on my lips and want to start. Need color suggestions. Nothing too bold. I gotta start slow. I'm a rookie. Lol. My lips always get lost in pics. I have blue eyes and brown hair. Thanks xoxo
Beauties, how Audacious have you gotten? I need to get some of these and am going to swatch tomorrow. If you have Audacious lippies, show us what colors you've picked up, and share what other colors you're still lusting after. Just from looking at swatch sheets last month, (on Temptalia I think) I saw about 15 I wanted How about you? Also, hat tip to jemly for inspiring this thread ETA: My current roster below. Hello BT! Disclosure: I was very lucky to have received a gift a little while ago from Sephora and Dior to try the new, reformulated Diorshow mascara. Here is my review below! There was a great review from annec322 recently, too, and some others. We had a death in the family that took some time and prevented me from posting sooner, so I know this is bit like old news. However, the extended time before posting the review has given me a chance to use it daily and so I probably have more to say than if I'd used it just once or twice. This was a VIBR exclusive online but now appears to be available to all for purchase. The last time I used Diorshow, it was actually a blue, that I used primarily on the tips of my eyelashes. Anyway, on to my experience with the new Diorshow in 090 Black. Here is the package, the one I got has the traditional box (on the left) with a sleeve on the outside to show results and the new packaging, which claims (from Sephora website): "The patented Air-Lock™ wiper prevents the formula from being in contact with the air, keeping the mascara from drying in the tube, thereby allowing for fresh application day after day." I really love the huge, full brush. My typical favorites are traditionally mascaras like Urban Decay Perversion, Marc Jacobs Omega, etc. so a big difference I noticed right away is that the Diorshow is not as "wet" a formula as those are. However, that doesn't diminish it's performance. I really liked it and here are the top reasons why (because I like lists): 1. I found it to be extremely clump-free and smooth to apply, even multiple coats 2. It is lengthening and volumizing and one coat is plenty, but two gives even a bit more volume 3. The tapered tip allows you to reach the inner and outer corner lashes easily 4. It wears all day on me (no primer was used) with absolutely no smudging or flaking whatsoever. I often get some flaking from other formulas but just thought that was normal! 5. It removes easily with any face washes I've tried, without any special removers, and without having to pull or tug at all. I didn't realize how nice this was until I realized my bath towel doesn't get covered with black smudges. I have some pics below of me with no mascara, with one coat of Diorshow and then with two coats of Diorshow. Not too much difference is obvious in the pictures between one and two coats. Just for reference, I don't ever curl my lashes and in these pictures, wearing no lash primer. As has been mentioned before, it does have a floral scent to it, but for me, it's not a bother and I only smelled it in the tube/wand - no smell at all once on my eyes. Please ignore my messy hair! Looking back, I should have done something with it, though I kept my makeup minimum so you could see my lashes a little better. I also probably should have tried a different angle because my eyes are so hooded, but I wanted to get this posted. Anyway, thanks for reading, and thanks to Dior and Sephora for letting me try this! Although I received this one for free, I would definitely purchase on my own in the future based on how well it performed. No Mascara: One Coat New Diorshow Mascara: 2 Coats New Diorshow Mascara:
Hey Beauties- We have ALOT of threads around here for Tom Ford products. I figured I'd start one thread where we can update each other on items as they come out or we see them available. For all my UK'ers, or people willing to pay for shipping from the UK, Harrods has Softcore and Nude Dip from the Fall collection available right now. Happy Shopping!
I have oily skin and makeup just fades away even with primer. I am interested in the Benefit cheek stains. I was wondering if you have any advice as to which one looks best on people with red hair, pale skin, and freckles?
In the spirit of all the other wonderful challenges on BT right now, I'm starting up a nail polish challenge for us. I have a ridiculous stash and I need to show my polish some love. With nail polish, once a day would be absurd (of course), so let's try and show off a new look and polish once a week. I'm personally going with manicures only, but if you'd rather do pedicures or even both go for it! I'm eager to see your collections and meet other polish junkies. It's past time for me to commit to using my stash! I would like to purchase the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer and the Creamy Concealer, but I do not know what shades I should purchase. However, I do know that my Color IQ Color Match is 1Y07. Thanks for your help.
What brand and/or product would you recommend for an everyday face foundation or bb cream. I will be starting Nursing school in the fall and want to have a quick routine so that I look presentable. I have acne and scarring but hope that they clear up with the Retin A by the time I start school. I want something that is about medium coverage.? I can never stand light coverage. Also, maybe long-ish wearing because of my oily skin. I have no idea what to use. i am so used to full coverage foundations.
Hello I'm a teenager; my face is very dry and has some bad acne spots. I have very fair skin so I like to cover my face to reduce redness and cover acne marks. Any good products that I should look into? I've tried Makeup Forever (too heavy) and Stilla CC Cream (not my color). Any help please?
I'm desperate for a PALE, pastel, cool-toned pink lipstick that has no frost or sparkle at all whatsoever. I don't look good in peachy or warm colors, so it must be cool toned. I prefer it to be a matte finish. I've looked all over and nothing really tickles my fancy,
What is the best liquid bronzer? I have not tried any yet but I know there are a few to choose from, I have been eyeing the Armani Liquid Summer but I'm not sure if I should spend the money if there's something better.
Can you suggest a blush? I have the Clinique cheek pop in melon which I love but I want another option for summer. Ginger pop is too red. Nude pop doesn't show on me. Peach pop is too pink. i tried the hourglass dim infusion which was too orange. i have NARS orgasm in the multiple but it's too shimmery. can you please suggest a warm blush for me?
We are going on vacay soon so I decided it would probably be smart for me to get some waterproof mascara. I wanted to get it from Ulta so I could redeem some points for a few dollars off. I decided on Tarte's Lights, Camera, Splashes. It's not as dynamic as the Guerlain I've been using, but it's still good. I would've gotten the waterproof Guerlain, but no one carries it and I don't have time to order it. ANYWAY- I have a purple streak in my hair and I've been wanting to try a purple lipstick (or gloss) to accent it. So I tried a few at Ulta. I was excited about UD's new glosses. But I tried a sample I got from Ipsy and the color payout wasn't that great. Plus it's GLOSS. Not my favorite. So on a bit of a whim, I purchased Too Faced's Melted Villain. It's dark but it's definitely purple. It's going to take some getting used to. But I pretty much feel that way every time I get a new shade of lipstick. So hopefully I will be rocking this one (out of the house) soon. Does anyone have any tips on wearing this shade? I'm currently wearing it with Stila's kitten eye shadow with Bobbi Brown's Cement (a glitter shade) on top. I really like it. Is it too much to wear it with a purple shirt? I like the combination, but not everyone is as into Matchy-Matchy as I am. What colors of clothing would you wear with it? TIA
Hi Beauties! I love the color Fig in the Smashbox lispstick line, however, I absolutely hate the formula. I have it on today and my lips feel super dry and are actually shredding (gross). Anyone know a good dupe for the color? Thanks!
Hi. I am having the worst time trying to pick my next foundation purchase. My number one requirement is that it is long lasting, but additional criteria includes light weight and/or medium- light buildable coverage, not dewy- I need something natural or matte. I have true combo skin, but I don't want something that is too drying. I found estee lauder double wear light to be too heavy, and a bit drying for reference. For the record, I did look up reviews (which every single one has a lot of good and then several terrible ones) and I searched, but all the searches that came up for long lasting also wanted full coverage and/or needed to cover a lot. I have a tiny bit of hyperpigmentation on my upper cheeks, but aside from that, I don't need anything too heavy. I would appreciate it so much if I could get some of your opinions, since I value the opinions of the girls on BT more than the average review- you ladies know what you are talking about! (Other info: I have tried Tarte- too heavy, cakey, Teint Idole is okay but I want to try something else. Also, I hate primers and have never tried one that works well under foundation for me. I've tried several and most of them suck all the oil out of my face and make my skin look really dry, while others caked up underneath and/or made my foundation roll.) Oh, also, I don't care if the suggestion is Sephora brand or something else. Sorry so long, just trying to get all the details in. Thank you so much!
