Sephora is my favorite store and website of course, but if I could make just one improvement, they would carry Nyx products! My Nyx products are the only cosmetics I do not buy from Sephora, I really wish I could. With that being said, what are your favorite Nyx Products? I have the PhotoFinish Primer and about 9 of the Soft Matte Lip Creams. I also have about 6 lip pencils, which I think are just as good as the MAC lip liners. It feels good to be able to buy about 5-6 Nyx lip liners for the price you could buy just one MAC lip liner for. What products do you recommend from Nyx? And do you consider any of these products "dupes?"
Hi everyone! I'm looking for my correct shade for the Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation. I know my color IQ is 1Y11. I previously purchased it in the color tan honey but it was too light for my skin. Before I waste money on another wrong shade, I wanted to ask you guys for advice on the right color. Thank you so much for all your input!

Lippie junkies united!!!
I know this is comparing apples and oranges (or berry to mango as the case may be) but I am only going to buy 1 more lipstick right now. Should it be Givenchy Violine Précieux or Bite Lip Lab Mango Dacquiri? I have light, neutral skin and enjoy both downplayed and bright colors. A pic of me for reference:
Hi Everyone! Here are some photos of Lip Lab Limited Release shade 006, which will be available tomorrow on Sephora.com at 12pm e.s.t. We've called this one Mango Daiquiri - it's a tangy coral/rose. Let us know if you have any questions about the shade! XO BITE
So a few hours ago Trendmood posted on their page a look at the new UD Naked Smoky palette. I haven't seen a picture of what the packaging looks like but I'm guessing it'll be the same design as N2 and N3 in a gunmetal color. This will be released on July 8th on the UD website. Is anyone else interested in this palette? I think I may pick it up to round out my Naked palette collection. Radar, Armor, and Black Market are repromotes from the Vice 1 and 2 palettes. All the other shades are new. They look very similar to current UD shades so hopefully when comparison swatches are released they are significantly different.
Image from Temptalia. When I first saw this my visceral reaction was "I'm getting this" but after looking at it for a few minutes I'm thinking I'm going to pass on this because UD just keeps tweaking a few of their colors and putting them in every single palette. Looking at you half-baked. At this point, I think I'd rather get the Smashbox double exposure palette than another iteration of a Naked palette. I'm wondering if anyone else is as disenfranchised with the Naked palettes as I am? I skipped #3 and all the basics, and I think I'm skipping this one, too.
Two weeks ago I pumped out the last few drops of my foundation and I never knew the fortnight ahead would be so troublesome #firstworldproblems I am a 2Y07 according to color IQ but since I contour using warmer colors, I prefer to buy 2Y06 or lighter The bottle I emptied was MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Invisible Cover Foundation Color 127 Dark Sand - for medium skin with yellow undertones (and that is neither the match for 2Y07 nor 2Y06). It was making me a little too yellow and oily (now that summer is back in the Carolinas). So I decided to go shop for a new foundation - but without success! Searching my foundation online I start with: My skin type is oily. I am 29 years old. Got post acne scars - so need medium to full coverage. Ingredients: OIL-FREE for sure I walked into Sephora and told the beauty advisor the above pre-requisites. She put on Hourglass Illusion® Hyaluronic Skin Tint Color Sand - medium with pink undertones (which looked medium coverage in store - probably because of amount and tools she used, she did not apply primer or setting powder). I was very happy with the dewy look but next day used it and found it to be too sheer for me. Walk into another Sephora: she said Hourglass Veil Fluid Makeup Oil Free Broad Spectrum SPF 15 No. 1 - Ivory ( SkinTone match for # 2Y06) will be very white for me AND Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation Mattifying Oil Free will be very mattifying and will not give the dewy/radiant look We tried Smashbox Liquid Halo HD Foundation SPF 15 ( Color 2 - warm vanilla for fair/light complexions ) on one half of my face AND NARS Sheer Glow Foundation Color Vallauris - medium with pink undertones on another. The color for NARS matched my skin tone perfectly and I walked out happy but once hope I realized it doesn't have a pump and isn't as medium/full a coverage as I want. I have ordered Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation SPF 15 Color Beige but I wanted to ask all you beautiful women for your expert advice. If Bobbi Brown's coverage/color doesn't work out I will go back to MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Invisible Cover Foundation Color 118 Flesh - for light skin with beige undertones. (also, if you suggest a color, please note I use NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer Color Custard - yellow tone for light to medium complexion for triangle of light - so I want my foundation lighter than 2Y07 but darker than custard/nars concealer). Thank you for your time, Aaks
So as most of ya'll know I live in Louisiana. Where mother nature has been on a tear as of late. Over the weekend the creek that my house backs up to finally went over its banks. Which left one place to go. My house. Thanks to great friends, great insurance, and great thinking, most of my stuff managed to escape the worst of the damage. But alot of my makeup didn't. My foils and minis are ruined for the most part. Alot of my full size was in a higher place, but not all. So at this point I am going to have to start rebuying. I have tended ( as ya'll can tell from my posts and reviews ) stick to the same stuff. Everything that I have used has been my HG. But maybe i need to step outside of my box. Try new things. So i turn to my fellow BTers who always have great product recs for the girls that are just now starting out with makeup. So i wanted to get some new ideas from ya'll of new things to try. Just across the board. I generally stuck to MAC foundation, overcurl Dior mascara, Naked eye shadow, 24/7 and stila eye liners, orgasam blush, the porefessional primer, and tarte setting powder. I figure i may try and turn a negative into something positive. At least in this small way!
hey loves, i am looking for foundation for estee lauder double stay foundation ..i am 1y10 but wondering what my color may be. i thought wheat but not sure .. and do you guys have good canceller for my acne i tried urban decay and nars and they are not good covering my acne
I just purchased the Cover FX Custom Drops. I have really dry skin, fine lines and large poor's. Wow what a combo HAHA. Now that these drops have been out for a while, I was wondering what mixes have worked best for you. I have tired mixing the drops with Argon Oil and that separated on me badly. I also tried it with the FAB moisture cream and that did the same thing. Any suggestions?
Hi! I need a full coverage foundation for oily skin. It needs to withstand Texas heat and sweating. I currently am using Clarins but I can't find a right color and it seems to be fading as the day goes on. I prime with Smashbox and set with IT mineral veil pore minimizer! Any help is appreciated!
Currently I am in love with Dior lip liner in Grege, its a perfect darker nude shade that I just love under every lipgloss I have tired with it BUT...the issue I have is that it is just beyond dry. I am wondering if anyone knows of something similar in shade but a less drying/creamier formula? Thanks everyone
The best eyelash curlers really depends on people's eye shape and preference. After terrible experience with a couple of the hyped/popular curlers, I decided to do a comparison between the ones Sephora carries: Shiseido, Lancome, Tarte, Sephora and Tweezerman. Hopefully it will be of help to you, too. Tarte, 1 replacement pad+mascara : smaller and rounder than other 4 curlers and have the squishy-est pad. Parts a bit loose and the middle comes together first so if you don’t squeeze firmly, it looks like ><. Tarte (left) and Shiseido (right). You can see tarte is smaller and rounder. Sephora, 2 replacement pad : Have the firmest pad of all 5 curlers. Comparable to Shiseido, both a tiny bit flatter than other curlers. When I use Shiseido and Sephora, the middle part press against my eyes first, when using Lancome, the whole side+middle press against my eyes at same time. Shiseido, 1 replacement pad: Medium/normal firm pad, comes together evenly. It have a unique dip on the corners, unlike any other curlers. Due to vertical curve of the curler and dip, it actually irritates my eyes and it water every time I use the curler. =/ Shiseido (left) and Lancome (right). You can see the dip in Shiseido while Lancome and other curlers don't have the dip. Lancome, 1 replacement pad : similar to Tweezerman, both very slightly rounder than Shiseido and Sephora, medium firm pad. Tweezerman ProCurl curler, 3 replacement pad : very nice weight, feels durable. 3 replacement pad. Curls all my lashes at once. Couldn’t tell the difference between this and Lancome, except this have a nice weight and feels sturdy (none of the parts feel loose). It also says free sharpening and life time warranty (why would you sharpen your curler?) All in all, if you've got smaller or rounder eyes, go for Tarte. If your eyes are deeper set, Shiseido curler's dip corner will help you get the corner lashes. If you like a firm pad (pro: no sharp kinks/angle. con: require more force to squeeze for a good curl), go for Sephora. Tweezerman feels nicer in my hand than Lancome, but honestly my eyes don't feel a difference when I was curling. I ended up getting the Tweezerman cuz it's got the most replacement pad, and Sephora one cuz it's sturdy and I tend to be heavy handed but don't want to crinkle/cut off my lashes. Happy curler shopping!
Hello BT! Disclosure: I was very lucky to have received a gift a little while ago from Sephora and Dior to try the new, reformulated Diorshow mascara. Here is my review below! There was a great review from annec322 recently, too, and some others. We had a death in the family that took some time and prevented me from posting sooner, so I know this is bit like old news. However, the extended time before posting the review has given me a chance to use it daily and so I probably have more to say than if I'd used it just once or twice. This was a VIBR exclusive online but now appears to be available to all for purchase. The last time I used Diorshow, it was actually a blue, that I used primarily on the tips of my eyelashes. Anyway, on to my experience with the new Diorshow in 090 Black. Here is the package, the one I got has the traditional box (on the left) with a sleeve on the outside to show results and the new packaging, which claims (from Sephora website): "The patented Air-Lock™ wiper prevents the formula from being in contact with the air, keeping the mascara from drying in the tube, thereby allowing for fresh application day after day." I really love the huge, full brush. My typical favorites are traditionally mascaras like Urban Decay Perversion, Marc Jacobs Omega, etc. so a big difference I noticed right away is that the Diorshow is not as "wet" a formula as those are. However, that doesn't diminish it's performance. I really liked it and here are the top reasons why (because I like lists): 1. I found it to be extremely clump-free and smooth to apply, even multiple coats 2. It is lengthening and volumizing and one coat is plenty, but two gives even a bit more volume 3. The tapered tip allows you to reach the inner and outer corner lashes easily 4. It wears all day on me (no primer was used) with absolutely no smudging or flaking whatsoever. I often get some flaking from other formulas but just thought that was normal! 5. It removes easily with any face washes I've tried, without any special removers, and without having to pull or tug at all. I didn't realize how nice this was until I realized my bath towel doesn't get covered with black smudges. I have some pics below of me with no mascara, with one coat of Diorshow and then with two coats of Diorshow. Not too much difference is obvious in the pictures between one and two coats. Just for reference, I don't ever curl my lashes and in these pictures, wearing no lash primer. As has been mentioned before, it does have a floral scent to it, but for me, it's not a bother and I only smelled it in the tube/wand - no smell at all once on my eyes. Please ignore my messy hair! Looking back, I should have done something with it, though I kept my makeup minimum so you could see my lashes a little better. I also probably should have tried a different angle because my eyes are so hooded, but I wanted to get this posted. Anyway, thanks for reading, and thanks to Dior and Sephora for letting me try this! Although I received this one for free, I would definitely purchase on my own in the future based on how well it performed. No Mascara: One Coat New Diorshow Mascara: 2 Coats New Diorshow Mascara:
My hair is naturally dark brown. Therefore, my eyebrows are a a darker brown too. I'm getting my hair died a pastel-y lilac and was wondering if I should buy a lighter shade of brow pencil and if that'll cover up my dark eyebrow hairs? Thanks in advance!
Just wanted to let all you Viseart addicts know that ALL of the palettes (including the newest ones — Cool Mattes, Dark Mattes and Editorial Brights) are available online at Musebeauty (google it). Happy shopping! I ordered Dark Mattes yesterday!
Hey Beauties- We have ALOT of threads around here for Tom Ford products. I figured I'd start one thread where we can update each other on items as they come out or we see them available. For all my UK'ers, or people willing to pay for shipping from the UK, Harrods has Softcore and Nude Dip from the Fall collection available right now. Happy Shopping!
So I'm really trying to find this colour lipstick. It's like a neon pinky coral, but it has a definite yellow tinge to it, and it's lighter than your regular coral shades. It's almost like a pink and yellow highlighter got it on and had a baby. Here's a pic of what I'm aiming for: This colour, but for lips! I'd prefer for it NOT to be a drugstore brand.
In the spirit of all the other wonderful challenges on BT right now, I'm starting up a nail polish challenge for us. I have a ridiculous stash and I need to show my polish some love. With nail polish, once a day would be absurd (of course), so let's try and show off a new look and polish once a week. I'm personally going with manicures only, but if you'd rather do pedicures or even both go for it! I'm eager to see your collections and meet other polish junkies. It's past time for me to commit to using my stash! So, I stopped into one of my local SiJCPs today and the Chrysallis palette was on sale for $20. But they were sold out. They said if any more came into the store, they would also be priced at $20 because they are being discontinued. I called the rouge line and was told they could not price match the item and that it would continue to be sold at the $46 price online. This really aggravates me. I'm so sick of the whole two seperate companies thing. Technically couldn't I just buy it online, take it into the SiJCP, return it for $46 and re-buy it for $20? So what's the point? End rant.
Hey everyone, Ive noticed that my color IQ isnt a very popular one (4Y06) and there is literally one foundation. I really want a good product thats full coverage. Can anyone help suggest a color or shade that may work for me? I tried Nars' new foundation in Stromboli and it make me look SOOOO yellow. Any help would be greaty! Thanks!
So I have blackout from UD in my Naked2 palette, and it is one of my HG products because it is amazing at setting liner. I use it on any eyeliner that I use to tight line (usually Maybelline's gel eyeliner), and it will not smudge all day. I'm going to college in the fall, so I need something that will set my liner to make it last all day, but I do not want to bring my Naked2 palette with me to school, and I don't want to buy the single because I figured that since the eye shadows in the naked palettes are full sized, I might as well get a palette due to the bargain. I've been eye the original Naked palette for awhile, and I was wondering if Creep is good for setting black liner that is used to tight line. I know it's shimmery and not matte like blackout, as well as not being as dark, but I'm fine with that as long as it will keep my liner from smudging all day.
Hi beauties, I'm planning on sending purses for my sister in laws in India. I wanted to pack them with some fun makeup as well! They all have kids and range from ages 30-50. I was thinking of adding drugstore makeup- particularly lipstick and mascara and then the fresh sugar mini and MAYBE some eyeshadows (wish Urban decay Ammo or pulp fiction was still on sale!). I'd love some suggestions for the lipsticks! I don't have any drugstore lipsticks and am sure they've come a long way! I think for mascara I'm going to go with the maybelline's in the teal package, but not 100% sure. I'd love to hear any ideas you might have on anything all the way from the handbag to any makeup product! I'm also limited on time So i need to be able to buy stuff at the store or ship from somewhere that isn't too slow. TIA!
hi im looking for a foundation that has a light-medium coverage, applies smoothly, does not sit on my pores or fine lines, and doesnt look patchy on my dry spots and doenst give me a white cast on flash photography and if its possible with a natural finish please help
