I thought this would be an interesting challenge as well as difficult, but also help you discover creative ways and/or using up something you feel guilty of buying but never using. I'm a bit of an impulse buyer when it comes to eyeshadows. I have several palettes but I usuall end up just using the same one or switch it up with another commonly used in my collection and I thought that should stop. Recently I've been good about rotating palettes but it still doesn't get much use that makes me happy I bought it. At first I thought "a month should do it" but I know not even I would be able to keep that promise. The challenge is this. To pick a product that you haven't really got much use out of, and use it for an entire week. So an example would be "I haven't used much of the Kat von D sinner palette so I'll use it for a week now." Here's a loophole to this. You pick your item but you can still use other shadows from other things, the point is that the item you've picked has to be in your daily look. It doesn't have to be palettes or singles only as long as you pick the item and stick to it for a whole week. That way we won't feel so guilty about not using it so much. The item that I will be picking will be the Kat von D Monarch palette. I use it every once in a while but I haven't for 7 consecutive days. So starting this Sunday, that palette will be part of my every day routine until Saturday. Summary: It doesn't have to be a palette, it can be a single eyeshadow. It doesn't have to be eye shadow, it can be a lippie, blush, or mascara. *edited to add foundation to the list* Yes, you can mix it with other products but this will be the item you won't leave behind in your daily routine for the 7 consecutive days. You don't have to post a picture of yourself if you don't want to, but if you want to take a picture of your item of choice, you can, and if you want. All you have to say to yourself is I can commit, I can accept, and I succeeded!
Whenever I watch fashion shows, I would watch them for the makeup more so than the clothes (which are fantastic in any case!). I thought it'd be fun to start a thread of favourite inspirational makeup photos Here are a few of mine from the latest NYFW SS15.
Hello! I've been using Bare Minerals Ready Foundation for maybe 2 years now and it has worked great. Not sure what's changed with my skin, old age? But for some reason it just doesn't look great anymore. I'm 36, have oily skin in the T-zone and have big pores. I've never really liked liquid foundation, but I'm willing to try other things. Any recommendations? Thanks!
Why can't they just get a discount on the product and have it available for everyone??! Its ridiculous. I was really looking forward to it and I received an email today saying that it is in stock so I click on it and it says YOU MUST BE A VIB ROUGE. Im a VIB (although online it says I'm not... seriously can someone explain to me why the lady at sephora gave me the VIB card when it says I'm not one online?) anyways i thought to share this in case any non vib rouges were gonna get it. I think its available for the general public october 1

I know that Cle De Peau Concealer is supposed to be one of the best out there, so I recently went to a department store counter to try it out. I am very fair and usually match the lightest shade of foundation/concealer in most brands. When I swatched the lightest CDP concealer shade, Ivory, it looked very dark on my hand. I compared the concealer to my foundation at home and it was darker than my foundation. Is there anyone else who has noticed this with CDP? Is this supposed to be more of a corrector? Or is there anyone who is pale but still uses CDP concealer that can explain to me how it works for them? Thank you!
I have sensitive skin in general. If I put on any kind of eye makeup, I am fine for 8-12 hours. But when I remove the makeup (does not matter how I do it: using a wash, wipes, makeup remover), my upper lid swells up for a day or so. I have to skip a day of eye makeup to go back to normal. I have thrown mascaras away thinking the tube is too old, no difference. I truly think if I sleep in my makeup, I will be fine (not that I want to do that). I have noticed the more tugging I do on the lid, the more the swelling. I use UD primer on lids, I also tried too face primer with no difference. I use origins eye cream on lower lid but nothing for upper lid.I use dior mascara, UD shadows, smashbox concealer for lower lid( which is starting to cake for no good reason). Any suggestions? thanks in advance. I would go to a sephora store for advice but the closest one to me is an hour away!
I received Vice 3 and got to wear it yesterday. I found the shadows super soft and buttery. I have a lot of UD palettes and singles, but Vice 3 kind of reminds me of the shadow formula in their Pulp Fiction palette. Anyone else? i was particularly interested in the reds. I used Sonic yesterday and it did not look like the color I thought it would when it went on my lid. I didn't dislike it but was just surprised - I was expecting kind of a ruby color. But I loved the base shade I picked and my crease color. It is a palette with lots of options and possibilities! i have that and Ten. I will try to swatch them, especially the liners since I have so many other UD liners already, I can see if there are any that exist that are close. just wondering if anyone else had thoughts on the shadow formulas in Vice 3 or LTD, or on the colors in Ten.
I have very, very, VERY pale skin. Pretty much any product I use to contour always ends up being way too dark and noticeable against my pale skin. I've been using a bronzer by Estee Lauder to contour recently, but I almost out of it so I need a new product, and it is way too dark on me for me to ever reconsider purchasing it. I've also tried a couple eyeshadows from Estee Lauder to contour (all of them were brown with gray undertones), but they still seemed to dark for my skin. Anyone know of a good LIGHT contour product? I really want my contouring to look natural, but with my pale skin that seems almost impossible. I would love to hear suggestions that anyone might have! Brand or price do not matter to me so I'm open to pretty much anything. I'm also eurasian so I have a yellow undertone on my skin if that makes a difference.
Is anyone else in love with this new collection? While I think both the mirrors are crazy over priced, everything else is AMAZING. I have only gotten the eyeshadow palette so far but oh my god its perfect. Has anyone gotten anything from it? Is it worth getting any of the other sets??
I have been haunting the HK section, hoping a few leftovers may turn up (Other than the two that are always there). Look what I found! Already signed up to be notified. Looking forward to seeing this collection, and I hope they have a launch party for Rouge!
I just watched NikkiTutorials video on Chanel's Cruise F/W 2014/2015 runway and I AM OBSESSED WITH IT! I'm recreating it tonight on my sister. I also love Chanel's S/S 2014 My favorite hairstyle would have to be from Dolce & Gabbana What's everyone's favorite runway makeup or hairstyle?
Zadidoll just posted this find from Urban Decay's website and I have to say I'm smitten. $39 and not yet for sale on their website, but I'm sure it will be available soon. Assuming it will also be available on Sephora at some point? The set contains six deluxe minis with three new shades, Ladyflower (bright rose-pink), Crush and Illicit (sheer baby pink) and three bestsellers Gash, Liar and F-Bomb. Also included is a full-size 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in Ozone. What do you think?
I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but when I use liquid lipstick (mostly Too Faced Melted and OCC Lip Tars), sometimes after a short period of time there will be a lighter ring on the inner part of my lips. It's extremely obvious and extremely unsightly. I wish I had a picture to explain it better. This problem mostly happens with the lighter shades of lipsticks. Does anyone else have this problem or know of a solution?
Hi everyone! I recently am looking for a new brush cleaner that is in a good price range and of course has good reviews. Do any of you girls have any reccomendations? I was exploring in the brush cleaner section online and I stumbled upon an exclusive brush cleaner from the Sephora Collection, and it was only $7. Should I buy that for $7 or should I buy a different brand that is better quality? Also, should I possibly get the $15 one that is bigger and can last longer. Thanks for your help!
I posted a previous post about starting a traveling box with samples and deluxe samples and a few ladies were interested in doing one! This is the 1st traveling box I am apart of and of course the 1st that I am starting. So, we need to decide if we are going to do a medium or small flat rate box. RULES No used items. No open items DO NOT take more than you put in. Let's keep this fun and fair DO NOT take multiples of the same sample PLEASE try not to keep the box more than 3 days Make sure to send your address to the person listed above you Once you send the box off, post the tracking number in this thread ALL unused items allowed (well maybe not nail polishes if it will make the shipping costs go up) Post a pic of what you take out, what you put in and what is left in the box before you send it off We are going to have fun and try to keep this going as long as we can! If you are interested in being in the box, I have a few spots left so post a pic of what samples you have in this thread to be added. To start off, we are only going to have 10 people! 1. CuriousCannibal 2. MegEm 3.MLLECC 4. tessie84 5. Kittichick 6. NicoleFrat 7. NightKnight 8. Sweetxteeth 9. Nishcakes 10. Kariyava
Advice needed. Looking for a makeup that has coverage but isnt heavy. I have trouble finding a foundation (liquid) that has coverage but doesnt settle into my pores and look heavy. Any suggestions? P.S. I have combo skin type... oily only in the T-zone
I am looking for a fuller coverage face powder to wear over a liquid foundation. I have tons of freckles, I am a nurse so work long hours so it also needs to be long wearing. I love the coverage of liquid and powder together. The problem is that recently my go to powder was discontinued. It was a drugstore brand. I have tried Clinique and it gives me a cakey look. I am not adverse to wearing only a liquid foundation but I don't want it to settle in my lines and again I want a full coverage. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi, beauties! I need some brow help -- my eyebrows are a light-medium ashy brown and my hair is a light red (almost strawberry blond, but still red). My colorist is leery of lightening them. I had been using the left side of Anastasia Brow Powder in Caramel (formerly Strawburn) to warm them up, but because they're ashy, they still look so dark. I tried MAC Brow Set Gel (the newer one) in Toasted Blond, which works well sometimes but it doesn't deposit enough color. I've also been to the Benefit Brow Bar, but they don't lighten, and the auburn shade they have is very dark. My colorist says she cautions against brow lightening because she said they have the tendency to go orange(!), but I'm wondering if anyone has successfully done it themselves, gone somewhere, or if there's a product you recommend that would really lighten the appearance (and add warmth), because they're driving me crazy. (Luckily, my bangs cover them a bit.) Thank you in advance! ETA: Maybe I should have posted this in "Hair" instead of eye makeup.
Hey guys! Just wanted to let everyone know about the ABH event happening on Sep. 20th at Toronto's Eaton Centre. It's appointment-only, from 12-7pm. Anastasia herself will be there, as well as her brow team to give you a mini brow makeover. The makeover will consist of filling in/shaping brows and showing you different techniques for what you want to achieve. No plucking/waxing involved! Also, I heard from an SA that if you buy any Anastasia product during the event, you will get a GWP (a clear brow gel & brow powder, apparently).
