I thought this would be an interesting challenge as well as difficult, but also help you discover creative ways and/or using up something you feel guilty of buying but never using. I'm a bit of an impulse buyer when it comes to eyeshadows. I have several palettes but I usuall end up just using the same one or switch it up with another commonly used in my collection and I thought that should stop. Recently I've been good about rotating palettes but it still doesn't get much use that makes me happy I bought it. At first I thought "a month should do it" but I know not even I would be able to keep that promise. The challenge is this. To pick a product that you haven't really got much use out of, and use it for an entire week. So an example would be "I haven't used much of the Kat von D sinner palette so I'll use it for a week now." Here's a loophole to this. You pick your item but you can still use other shadows from other things, the point is that the item you've picked has to be in your daily look. It doesn't have to be palettes or singles only as long as you pick the item and stick to it for a whole week. That way we won't feel so guilty about not using it so much. The item that I will be picking will be the Kat von D Monarch palette. I use it every once in a while but I haven't for 7 consecutive days. So starting this Sunday, that palette will be part of my every day routine until Saturday. Summary: It doesn't have to be a palette, it can be a single eyeshadow. It doesn't have to be eye shadow, it can be a lippie, blush, or mascara. *edited to add foundation to the list* Yes, you can mix it with other products but this will be the item you won't leave behind in your daily routine for the 7 consecutive days. You don't have to post a picture of yourself if you don't want to, but if you want to take a picture of your item of choice, you can, and if you want. All you have to say to yourself is I can commit, I can accept, and I succeeded!
Why can't they just get a discount on the product and have it available for everyone??! Its ridiculous. I was really looking forward to it and I received an email today saying that it is in stock so I click on it and it says YOU MUST BE A VIB ROUGE. Im a VIB (although online it says I'm not... seriously can someone explain to me why the lady at sephora gave me the VIB card when it says I'm not one online?) anyways i thought to share this in case any non vib rouges were gonna get it. I think its available for the general public october 1
Finally found pics from some blogs of the Holiday collection! Can't wait to pick up all of the matte lipsticks! I believe there will be 6 permanent matte lipsticks and 2 limited edition colours (possibly a matte black orchid!) Doesn't seem to be any new eyeshadow quads though, so I'm a bit disappointed as I wasn't able to get Nude Dip before it sold out everywhere here and Holt Renfrew never called me back when I had put my name down for one! There will also be new men's items. Please add any more pictures or swatches you come across of the Holiday collection. Can't wait to see swatches of the lipsticks!
Ok so, I have a really hard time finding a foundation that looks natural on my face, I have really fair skin , but my cheeks and chin are always extremely red , while the rest of my face is pretty pale, I have yet to find a foundation that can cover the redness and basically make my face look natural and one color. It usually looks slightly orangey or just way too light. Any suggestions on what I can use to fix this never ending issue of mine?
Whenever I watch fashion shows, I would watch them for the makeup more so than the clothes (which are fantastic in any case!). I thought it'd be fun to start a thread of favourite inspirational makeup photos Here are a few of mine from the latest NYFW SS15.
Zadidoll just posted this find from Urban Decay's website and I have to say I'm smitten. $39 and not yet for sale on their website, but I'm sure it will be available soon. Assuming it will also be available on Sephora at some point? The set contains six deluxe minis with three new shades, Ladyflower (bright rose-pink), Crush and Illicit (sheer baby pink) and three bestsellers Gash, Liar and F-Bomb. Also included is a full-size 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in Ozone. What do you think?
i need a eyeshadow and a eyeliner that will last me 2 days without creasing because i wont be able to aply makeup for 2 days ik its a hard thing 2 find but does anyone have any suggestions i do use a eye primer by benifit
Have you guys seen these?! There are tons of shades and finishes to choose from, and you can build your own palette! I can't wait to try these; I wonder if Sephora will carry all of the shades? There are so many and I'd really like to go in and test a good chunk of them. http://www.sephora.com/artist-shadow-P387670?skuId =1622745
So I was watching a youtube video of Vintageortacky and when I saw her Charlotte Tilbury blush, my jaw dropped. I had my eye on the YSL peachy one but .. this... just beats it, and can I say cute packaging? I wasn't going to jump on the CT bandwagon, but according to Cora this gives a nice natural peachy touch.. yep. This blush is called Ecstacy. And this one is the one Cora used called First Love.
I posted a previous post about starting a traveling box with samples and deluxe samples and a few ladies were interested in doing one! This is the 1st traveling box I am apart of and of course the 1st that I am starting. So, we need to decide if we are going to do a medium or small flat rate box. RULES No used items. No open items DO NOT take more than you put in. Let's keep this fun and fair DO NOT take multiples of the same sample PLEASE try not to keep the box more than 3 days Make sure to send your address to the person listed above you Once you send the box off, post the tracking number in this thread ALL unused items allowed (well maybe not nail polishes if it will make the shipping costs go up) Post a pic of what you take out, what you put in and what is left in the box before you send it off We are going to have fun and try to keep this going as long as we can! If you are interested in being in the box, I have a few spots left so post a pic of what samples you have in this thread to be added. To start off, we are only going to have 10 people! 1. CuriousCannibal 2. MegEm 3.MLLECC 4. tessie84 5. Kittichick 6. NicoleFrat 7. NightKnight 8. Sweetxteeth 9. Nishcakes 10. Kariyava
Hey guys! I am a 17 year old girl with very oily, acne prone skin. I find that my makeup usually looks great in the morning, but by the afternoon is extremely oily and splotchy. I need a great primer, foundation, and concealer option which will stay all day. I am a teenager, though, and don't want my skin to looked caked in makeup. I would like the foundation/ bb cream to be natural looking. Thanks!
I've been looking at reviews and everything for a good gel liner, so far I think UD has a good one, I've swatched it and it does a nice job at staying put. But if anyone else has any other brand suggestions. I tried the benefit they're real push up liner and when I get it right, I love the way the formula looks, just a real deep black matte, but I don't like the applicator form. If anyone has good suggestions I'd like to know but so far UD remains inthe lead. I looked up if anyone was raving about this product in the thread but I didn't have any luck finding anything.
I have sensitive skin in general. If I put on any kind of eye makeup, I am fine for 8-12 hours. But when I remove the makeup (does not matter how I do it: using a wash, wipes, makeup remover), my upper lid swells up for a day or so. I have to skip a day of eye makeup to go back to normal. I have thrown mascaras away thinking the tube is too old, no difference. I truly think if I sleep in my makeup, I will be fine (not that I want to do that). I have noticed the more tugging I do on the lid, the more the swelling. I use UD primer on lids, I also tried too face primer with no difference. I use origins eye cream on lower lid but nothing for upper lid.I use dior mascara, UD shadows, smashbox concealer for lower lid( which is starting to cake for no good reason). Any suggestions? thanks in advance. I would go to a sephora store for advice but the closest one to me is an hour away!
I don't know if these are new for all of you but this is the first day I see these up. I received Vice 3 and got to wear it yesterday. I found the shadows super soft and buttery. I have a lot of UD palettes and singles, but Vice 3 kind of reminds me of the shadow formula in their Pulp Fiction palette. Anyone else? i was particularly interested in the reds. I used Sonic yesterday and it did not look like the color I thought it would when it went on my lid. I didn't dislike it but was just surprised - I was expecting kind of a ruby color. But I loved the base shade I picked and my crease color. It is a palette with lots of options and possibilities! i have that and Ten. I will try to swatch them, especially the liners since I have so many other UD liners already, I can see if there are any that exist that are close. just wondering if anyone else had thoughts on the shadow formulas in Vice 3 or LTD, or on the colors in Ten.
I have normal, acne-prone skin and fair asian skin color. I don't have any acne, but I have a little bit of acne scar, acne marks, and redness. I would prefer medium coverage. Full coverage would be nice, but I don't like to look heavy. I have tried some foundations and it is just so hard to find the right one for my skin. I recently purchased bareminerals matte foundation, but the sales associate gave me the wrong color. I really like the finish, but I think the foundation is giving me red spots. I will be visiting the store later this week so I just wanted some idea before I visit the store. What would you recommend me? I have tried Bobbi Brown skin foundation and that didn't give me enough coverage. Nars sheer glow & sheer matte didn't work out for me.
Hi everyone! I've been using Benefit Boi-ing concealer for the past 2 years, but i've recently noticed it's starting to look a bit cakey. Good news though, I'm almost out of it! So I figured it's time for a new concealer to try. What are some good ones? I am on a college-student budget though, so something preferably under $30. I have a light complexion with pink undertones, green eyes, strawberry blonde hair, and a normal-dry face.
I often lick my lips and I like to wear lip gloss that is bold colors like a vibrant red. However, I am an amature at make up. Any tips on which lip products to buy (preferably 15 and under) that'll last all day?
I don't know if drugstore swatches are allowed on this board, but I really love the L'Oreal Infallible eye shadows. They are super pigmented and buttery. And they really last!
