Have you guys seen these?! There are tons of shades and finishes to choose from, and you can build your own palette! I can't wait to try these; I wonder if Sephora will carry all of the shades? There are so many and I'd really like to go in and test a good chunk of them. http://www.sephora.com/artist-shadow-P387670?skuId =1622745

So I was watching a youtube video of Vintageortacky and when I saw her Charlotte Tilbury blush, my jaw dropped. I had my eye on the YSL peachy one but .. this... just beats it, and can I say cute packaging? I wasn't going to jump on the CT bandwagon, but according to Cora this gives a nice natural peachy touch.. yep. This blush is called Ecstacy. And this one is the one Cora used called First Love.
We've all seen this on youtube, if you haven't.. go do so and have a laugh - maybe I'm always laughing and thinking to myself that it'd be fun to try this. Sometimes I say "there's no way they can mess up that bad, come on.." So I decided, why not make a thread about it? I want to see pictures, be it one or a ton, to show how good we can apply makeup without a mirror - it's hard! I used all products I use when I do the works, which is almost every day. A lot of people know my liquid liner skills.. I used it here.. but it didn't come out as great as I wanted! If you're interested in the lipstick shade, it's Shanghai Express by NARS. Sorry for the lighting, it's either this or suffer a heatstroke in my bathroom (it's hot in there).
Have you seen this baby yet? So pretty! Temptalia posted this today. $250.00 U.S. / $295.00 CDN (Limited Edition) "Availability: September 2nd for VIB Rouges, full release on September 9th at Sephora and September 2nd at Make Up For Ever Boutiques." Temptalia
I don't know if I'm just picky.. But I'm so picky when it comes to foundations matching me well.. Does anyone else have that problem? I have foundations and they look good in some lighting, but in other kinds of lighting they look weird. Is that normal? Like is it normal for foundation colors to look different in different lighting? I went to the mall today, and I looked in the Clinique mirror and it had some lighting around it and I looked so yellow! Lol I was like geez this lighting is so unflattering or my foundation isn't a good match. I'm just so picky when it comes to foundation because I don't want to look like a clown lol
I posted a previous post about starting a traveling box with samples and deluxe samples and a few ladies were interested in doing one! This is the 1st traveling box I am apart of and of course the 1st that I am starting. So, we need to decide if we are going to do a medium or small flat rate box. RULES No used items. No open items DO NOT take more than you put in. Let's keep this fun and fair DO NOT take multiples of the same sample PLEASE try not to keep the box more than 3 days Make sure to send your address to the person listed above you Once you send the box off, post the tracking number in this thread ALL unused items allowed (well maybe not nail polishes if it will make the shipping costs go up) Post a pic of what you take out, what you put in and what is left in the box before you send it off We are going to have fun and try to keep this going as long as we can! If you are interested in being in the box, I have a few spots left so post a pic of what samples you have in this thread to be added. To start off, we are only going to have 10 people! 1. CuriousCannibal 2. MegEm 3.MLLECC 4. tessie84 5. Kittichick 6. NicoleFrat 7. NightKnight 8. Sweetxteeth 9. Nishcakes 10. Kariyava
Hi! I've been looking for a nice pressed powder foundation. My skin is not oily or acne-prone. I'm 17 and I want a nice coverage, without having the foundation blocking my skin from breathing. Ideally the powder would come with an applicator because I don't have any brushes and can't invest in one. Thank you!
Okay ladies and gents I'm going to VEGAS 8/27 first time ever!!! I have a list of places I want to go...makeup wise. Inglot, sephora, CCO (is the CCO worth a special trip?). Any places (makeup) I should hit, ones I should avoid? I DO NOT (just not worth it for me) do VERY high end brands. Marc Jacobs is the most expensive brand I have. I have been saving my coins for a while and now it's time to just buy buy buy. I'm NW45/MUFE 178 so I usually only buy from companies that make products for the deeper tones. It's principle for me. Post your ideas (please please please), previous adventures, and best kept secrets! I'll post what I get when I return home and decompress. May the makeup Goddesses and Gods be forever in your favor. May your holy grail products never be discontinued or in short supply. May your favorite product drop on the floor and never break. May your makeup storage be all that you dream and cleaned and organized by sweet smelling fairies. Be makeup blessed! *can you tell I'm super excited*

Guys, my current foundation shades just aren't doing it for me, but my concealer is a great match. So I am looking for a foundation that is closer to my concealer shade. I am using MUFE Full Cover Concealer in #6 Ivory. I am open to any brand, any coverage, and finish. I just need that right color. So please feel free to suggest any foundation that is a match to my concealer. Thanks guys!
I have recently learned that Hakuhodo has an office in LA. LA is close, but not close enough for me to just go there because I want to (its 6 hours drive from the bay area) Has anyone been there? I've heard that they offer 20% discount too. if anyone is planning on going, may I ask for a favor of a couple brushes (I will pay full price plus shipping)
I'm under the impression that natural hair brushes work better for powder products and synthetics for liquid. I've been eyeing the RT blush brush? or the one that is shaped like a cone for bronzer application but I know that all RT brushes are made of synthetic hairs. Is my general rule concept mistaken or is it the quality of the brush that matters more?
Can you mix powder foundations like, MATTE Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 - Golden Medium (from BAREMINERALS), with water to make it a liquid foundation? It may be best to just buy liquid foundation but it does not sit well on my face! So I was just wondering if it were possible to turn the matte powder into a liquid, with water, and apply it with a brush? Thanks!
I didn't start wearing makeup until I was in my 30's. The learning curve has been steep and there are still things I struggle with learning. How do I find makeup classes in my area? I don't want to go to a makeup counter, I want a true sit down and learn class. Everyone and their mama is a MUA these days how do I go about finding a TRUE MUA and taking a class? I really want to learn how do a winged liner (hooded eyes), apply eyelashes, contouring, highlighting and different shadow techniques. Can you all help me? I'm in the northeast close to DC/DelMarVa/Philly areas. TIA NAA
So, I really want to try a really vibrant violet lip color. I looked in past threads to get ideas but the last post was about a year ago and, let's be real, a whole lot of new makeup products come out in a year. So I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions! I am not looking for anything dark or vampy. I am contemplating Too Faced Violet Melted Lipstick. If anyone has any other ideas I would really appreciate it!
Hi, everyone I could really use some color match help. I'm currently living in Japan, so I can't really go into a Sephora myself and get color matched, however I can order from Sephora online and they'll ship to me here. Anyway, I would love to order the Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation. I have been using Mac Studio Fix in the color NC20 for years. I'd like to try this new foundation but am not really quite sure, which color. Is there anyone out there, who might be able to know which color would best suit me? Thanks, sincerely.
Please help! So, I have the tarte 12 hour foundation in medium tan and I am in love with it. I used to hate it because I bought the duel ended foundation brush (flat top and pointed) to apply it and it looked streaky.. but I now use the real techniques pointed foundation brush and I like how it looks like now. HOWEVER, everytime I wear this foundation I can see the bits of glitter or shimmer on my face. I tried blending it away and its still there...And its really noticeable when I'm in the sun! It's really embarrassing and my sister asked me why I wore glitter on my face. I want to know if any of you have had this problem or had and know how to sort of deal with it. I really love the coverage, consistency, and the overall look of it and want to use it up! I'm not sure if its the brush I'm using or whatever.. I do use a primer and I put a powder or it (either my benefit or rimmel stay matte or BM mineral veil) and it still looks shimmery.
So I purchased two of these last week and just tried them out today. They are very odd to me...like a watercolor for the eye (I think that may be in the official description), very light and transparent but color is buildable. I bought two colors and applied one to each eyelid just using the soft application tip. The color was patchy and it took awhile for it to dry before I could put on a second and then third coat. Plus, these contain a moderate amount glitter (definitely not shimmer) which almost strikes me as odd for a product so transparent. I think using a brush to even out the color would definitely help tremendously but I was doing this as my little girl was in the tub so I didn't have much time! The colors I got are Chartreuse and Ginger Lily. The first swatch pic is without flash, the other with. The top two colors are one coat only and the bottom is three coats. I know these pics are not great but I felt the need to include something. If anyone's tried these, let me know what you think and if you're having success with them and how. Also, any of you MUA's (or anyone else!) even if you haven't used these, if you have suggestions, lay 'em on me. BTW, the pics are without primer and just using the applicator to apply. When I put them on my eyes I used primer and then I also tried them with NYX white shadow base.
Some campaigns from Charlotte Tillbury, Rodarte (Nars), Chanel and Dior (pics posted below) have featured pink/red/fuscia eyeshadows for their Fall campaigns. My question to all of you is, what are your makeup application tips for me to try that same trend and interpret for a casual day look? I may even want to wear that to work too. I don't want to look like I have a bruised eye or a puffy eye that has been crying all night. I"d like to be able to take my sunglasses off and look my friends in the eye at lunch and not get funny looks. Just for reference my complexion is pale with subtle yellow undertones but can pull more neutral at times. (3yo3, Chanel B10 or BR20 approx). Does anyone have shade recommendations? Application tips?? Thanks!
