There's clearly an underlying trend with my faves, but I promise they all translate differently on the eyes and for different purposes . These are all part of the permanent range and/or are still available for purchase. -Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in B-day Suit: This is my favorite base to use on days when I'm wearing neutral powdered eyeshadows. Despite its sheer nature, it really amps up any taupes or grays I layer over it. I find that Benefit Creaseless shadows aren't too long-wearing, which is why I prefer using them as bases. One pot will also last you for a couple of years without drying out. (MAC paint pots, I'm looking at you!) -Chanel Illusion D'ombre in Initiation: One of the best holiday purchases this year, this bad boy is packed with shimmer and glitter -- perfect for this time of year! However, the glitter particles do not migrate throughout the day. This is probably one of the more opaque Illusion D'ombres Chanel offers, and it's just beautiful. Just go and pick it up. You'll be thanking me later -Diorshow Fusion Mono in 821 Chimere: This is perfect for days when I'm running late but still want something on my eyes with minimal effort. Chimere pulls rose gold under some lights and goldish brown in others -- truly a multi-faceted shade! The shimmer is quite noticeable, don't get me wrong, but it's still toned down enough that I would say is work appropriate. -Maybelline Color Tattoo in Barely Beige: Maybelline really outdid themselves with these Color Tattoos, as I find them far superior than MAC paint pots in terms of staying power and not creasing as the day goes on. I particularly like using Barely Beige as a base for champagne and peachy-pink powdered shadows. I haven't had any issues with these cream shadows drying out, but even if they did, I'm not complaining as they're a fraction of the price of most higher end ones. -Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Cream Shadow in Slate: I'm a huge fan of the Tarte Amazonian line for the eyes, and the huge dent in the pot is a good indication of how often I reach for this product. It's the perfect taupe shade in a cream form for me, as it pulls neither too warm nor too cool on my eyes. Again, another one of those pop on the lids and blend into the crease with my fingers of a shadow and I'm out the door. What are some of your favorite cream shadows?
I've seen swatches of both of course, and the Unzipped palette looks more warm/golden? Whereas the Naked 3 looks very pink. But then when I see pictures of the actual Unzipped shadows IN the palette, they look pink. Does anyone who maybe owns both of these think these have a close comparison?
I am NOT getting a consensus from the answers I've been receiving from the nyc stores and from the posts I've seen IDK if the answer has been made clear yet, but my apologies if I missed it somewhere. Do we have a definitive launch date for Sephora for UD's Naked 3? Thanks, and again so sorry If I overlooked something, I really want to used my $20 off on this not spend it too soon only to have N3 come out a few days later!
With the VIB card promo I am hoping to purchase a new foundation and I just can't seem to choose one. I LOVE MUFE Face and Body but don't feel like it has enough coverage. I understand that it is buildable but I am just hoping that there is something similar with more coverage. I do not like their HD foundation. My skin is dry during the winter months and I just don't think that formula works well with my skin. My second choice is NARS Sheer Glow. I like this foundation as well but it's still not HG for me. So if anyone has any suggestions they would be gladly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
I'm trying to stick to 45-50 per pay...and over 26 pays per year I should still qualify for rouge every year, although I've been going over budget a lot. How does everyone else budget or find extra funds to support their addiction?lol
I just recently started using liquid foundation again and I never realized how dirty your brushes can get and how quick it builds up! So my question is, what's the best brush cleaner? I'm looking for a weekly cleaner/cleanser, not a daily one.
I have bad dark circles....genetics and three kids. Even if I'm well rested I look exhausted! I can't seem to find a good full coverage concealer that doesn't a) wear off easily or b) settle into fine lines under my eyes. Any suggestions?
I read on a post that the Guerlain Meteorites were being revamped. What is the difference between them and the Hourglass Ambient lighting powders. I have not tried either but just order the ambient lighting powder in difussed tonight.
Hi everyone, So I have been a lover of Urban Decay's Primer Potions for a few years now. Recently I have noticed that my eyelids are starting to crease no matter what eyeshadow I wear. I have even just put the primer on alone and I still see it crease! I find this really strange because it has never creased for me before and I know that my primer isn't old because I just bought a new one a few weeks ago and it creases as well. I'm not sure if it may be the new packaging of the primer that makes the formula not mix properly but I really don't know what's going on! Thanks for the help!
I know there are quite a few posts about the Naked Palettes, but the responses I've read haven't really told me what I want to know and it's hard to keep everything straight so here Naked 1 vs Naked 2 I have medium tan (think NC30- NC35, NARS Stromboli etc) skin with olive undertones and I have dark brown hair and eyes. I've been eyeing up the Naked 1 palette for years but haven't committed yet because I didn't know how much I would use it. I think I'm ready to get one now though, since I do have the $20 off waiting to be used, and I've started getting into eyeshadows more but I do not have a neutral palette yet. I would like to know which of the palettes you own, how often you reach for each and whether or not you find them to be worth it, compared to other neutral-ish eye palettes out there. Lastly, I think out of the three (I don't think I can wait for Naked 3 to launch on Sephora but still), Naked 1 would likely be the most useful/flattering for me, but if anyone has any other opinions, they would be really appreciated.
my dear BBFFs, I thought you would know (since you collectively know EVERYTHING!) whether it's appropriate to touch up lipstick at work and how do you do it? I've been wanting to wear more pigmented lipsticks at work instead of my normal reapply-without-needing-to-look lip gloss. However, since my lips are dry I need to apply gloss sometimes once every half hour. If it's lipstick I definitely need a mirror. Popping off to the ladies room every half hour just to touch up lipstick is probably not a great idea. Is it ok to pull out the mirror at work, in a meeting, in the cafeteria, etc? Or should I just stick with the boring non-pigmented gloss?
I have acne prone skin, but I really only break out when I wear makeup. If I don't wear it my skin clears up in a week or two, but I want to wear makeup to cover up acne marks I got a while ago. What is the best makeup to use?
I was at the movies recently and it made me feel slightly bad about my makeup. How on earth do the makeup artists get foundation to look so perfectly skin-like? I think my makeup is usually pretty natural but most girls would be able to tell I'm wearing foundation. I want to find a foundation that has decent coverage but doesn't look like foundation.... maybe I'm asking too much. Makeup isn't magic. Can any of you recommend foundation like this for me?
Hey everyone, I am just on a hunt for yet another foundation.. I'm currently using the Makeup forever HD an the Guerlain lingerie de peau. I'm just really curious about the Givenchy photo perfexion fluid foundation because it does have great reviews, but I can't find them in stores anymore because the Teint couture has replaced them. I like light weight foundations that has a fair amount of coverage, and those that have a nice glow/brightening effect to them. (I have combination skin that tends to get a bit oily during the summer months) What are your experiences of using Givenchy's photo foundation?
I can't decide between the three offered right here on Sephora: Parure de Lumière Tenue de Perfection Lingerie de Peau Thoughts/opinions/reviews would be much appreciated, especially any comparisons. Thank you!!
I'm 15 and I have blue green eyes, lighter skin, but not exactly pale, and a rounder face. I don't usually wear a lot of makeup... However I was wondering what kind of makeup would look good on me. Thanks
Hi Beauties! I love seeing before and after pics, makeup makes such a big difference and for me my favorite dramatic product is mascara. I have very light lashes and its my favorite step of makeup application. Today I chose Armani Eyes to Kill I would love to see yours! Post your before and after pictures of your eyes - any mascara. Note: I do not have a fancy camera, so I just used my phone, I will try to zoom in more next time...
(Not sure if I should ask this here... Considering Sephora doesn't sell Zoya lol) I LOVE the look of the Pixie Dust polishes but I'm just wondering how difficult they are to remove? Anyone have any experience?
The holidays are coming up and so travel time is near. What products do you bring with you on trips? What are you must haves for travel? How do you pack them? I usually put my foundation and primer in small sample pots to bring because it's easier that way. I also usually bring my Kat Von D Saint palette as it's small enough to fit in an cosmetic bag I have but very versatile. I also love to carry deluxe samples of products like the Tarte setting powder and Bad Gal Lash to save room.
Hi everyone I am just now getting back into makeup after years of not wearing any and my dear husband would like to get me some new shadows for Christmas and I am feeling a little overwhelmed by all the choices. I keep looking and it seems like there are a ton of palettes to choose from but I want one or two that are good for everyday use, as well as to glam it up for social functions. I am a stay at home mom so I don't go out a ton and tend to do a more natural look when I do my makeup. I have medium brown hair that has mahogany in it, my eyes are a piercing blue (I normally wear glasses but do occasionally wear contacts) and my skin tone is fair with pink undertones. Budget is $100 so I was hoping to get a few palettes I just feel a bit overwhelmed. Thanks!
I want a new highlighter, but I dont want something that looks like a unicorn sneezed glitter in my face! I'm looking for something that gives me a luminous warm glow and doesn't look greasy from too much sheen (oily skin here) I think I've picked two contenders : Too Faced Candlelight Duo Highlighting Powder OR Dior Shimmer Star Has anyone used one or both??
http://www.sephora.com/colorful-eyeshadow-portfoli o-P377681?skuId=1596121 Is it just me, or is Sephora tripping? $600 for 80 of their no name eyeshadows? You can buy those Coastal Scents palettes for like $40. I can't believe anyone would buy this.
I'm just getting into eyeshadows, and I'm wondering if anyone can suggest which Naked Palette would look best on my skin tone? I've attached a picture for reference. Just wondering if I should spend my December coupon on Palette #3, or instead go in store and test all of them at some later point when the hype has died down.
Did anyone get the MAC Hautecore lipstick on Black Friday? Or if you didn't get your hands on it, will you get it in the upcoming Punk Couture collection? I kinda wanna get it because it is LE but I kinda don't and I wanna try black lipstick. I've seen more and more ladies wear black and it looks amazing. It's the ultimate vampy lip. Wet N' Wild has a matte black lipstick called Pagan Angel that is better quality and it's $2.99 compared to Hautecore's $15 price tag. Do you think its worth getting Hautecore or should I get Pagan Angel instead?
All I have been hearing about lately is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders! They all look so lovely but without seeing them in person I'm not sure what color would be best! I'd like to use it as an all over finishing powder, and I have seen online that Dim Light is great for that. I am super duper fair (like the lightest foundation shade in any brand) and was wondering if there were any other pale ladies out there who have a suggestion? <3
I was going to give the Too Faced set to a coworker who loves makeup, but when I opened the lip injection and rolled it up I noticed something... interesting. Has anyone else noticed this? You'll know what I mean if you've seen it.
