Hi BT! I've been hijacking threads lately with my various color challenges. It's time for it's own place! The rules: Each week (Sunday- Saturday), there will be a new color to incorporate into your makeup looks. It can be one item of that color or a whole face. Try to incorporate it 4-5 times during the week, and post your pic, or discuss your colors here with everyone! If you can only do a day or two, that's fine too! This should be fun! For folks on a No Buy, it's a great way to shop your collection. I hope you'll join me! Week 2: July 26- August 1: ORANGE!
Hey Beauties- We have ALOT of threads around here for Tom Ford products. I figured I'd start one thread where we can update each other on items as they come out or we see them available. For all my UK'ers, or people willing to pay for shipping from the UK, Harrods has Softcore and Nude Dip from the Fall collection available right now. Happy Shopping!
So I dragged myself down to the post today to get a new box for a TSB and was suprised to find a little box in my locker. I wasn't aware Formula X was sending me anything because normally they contact you before they send you something. Did anyone else get this?
Particularly with powder highlighters? I'm wondering if I should try sephora's brand fan brush, but the reviews are a bit mixed, and someone said the brush fell apart and lost it's shape after washing. I'm open to all answers and suggestion. (if you use liquid highlighter, feel free to share your favorite method for applying as well)
Hi, So, I'm a Genderqueer person. For those who don't know, it means that I don't identify with the regular gender binary (Male and Female), but instead identify as somewhere in between. I heard that this forum was a good place for beauty advice and wasn't too judgemental, so I thought this might be a good place for me to ask some of my questions. I was assigned male at birth (AMAB), and I'm looking for makeup that will help give my face a more androgynous look. I find this particularly difficult for myself, because I keep growing facial hair and my eyebrows are incredibly bushy (I have dark facial and brow hair, btw). I know the simple solution is to shave and get my brows waxed/plucked/threaded, but even though I do shave every single morning, I still have a lot of shadow left behind (Especially on my upper lip). What foundation, and also proper makeup regimen, would be right to help de-masculinize my face, and what proper tools will I need for it? If anyone can give me even a few pointers, I would really appreciate it. Some extra facts about me: -I have a round face. Would this need any altering? -My skin tone is very white with little tan. How can I figure out what shade would be best? -Overall, I have very sensitive skin that's also acne prone. How can I find a good makeup that won't cause at least too many breakouts? Are there any specific brands that are considered to be more safe than others? Thank you in advance for any answers. -I hope this is still a safe space-
A few photos showed up on my instagram through Beautezine, and apparently there is a Canada-Exclusive lip collection coming out in July for the fall from Bite, let's call it the Maple Collection. It apparently features 5 matte lipsticks with a maple scent, and a Maple Agave Lip Mask. So jealous, I'd love to get my hands on a maple-scented agave lip mask! Here are the photos that Beautezine posted on her instagram: and swatches:
As you may now have seen in the Summer/Fall collections threads, ColourPop Cosmetics is releasing next week their new collection of liquid lipsticks and the colors are to die for and just $6 a piece so I decided to create this new thread so we can share swatches for those interested. I'm pretty sure I'm getting a few. Here are the dominiquerldr swatches from IG And this one from lustrelux Also, if these babies do release next week you can use the Kathleenlights code for $5 off As of right now for this summer season I’m interested in: Spoiler (Highlight to read) Lychee Mars Ouiji Bumble Solow Donut Buds Pacific LycheeMarsOuijiBumbleSolowDonutBudsPacific What do you think?
I've seen things where people say they don't wear makeup to impress guys when guys can't tell the difference between black and navy, or Half Baked from Chopper in the Naked line. Things like that. I remember somewhere in the threads someone posted one with two lipsticks, I thought it was the funniest thing. So as a fun little game, fill in the blanks " You think I wear makeup to impress a guy who can't tell the difference between______and_____?"
I am trying to change my routine to include a foundation that is natural looking (light coverage, except areas with discoloration). I have tried the following three because they are a color match for my skin (SO hard to find in most foundation lines). They are... Cover Fx Drops, Urban Decay Naked foundation and YSL's Touche Eclat. Do you prefer any of these foundations? Why? I tried them all at the store and they all seemed nice. I would love to hear your thoughts! Thank you!!!!
I like my brows more on the thin side and I usually use a Maybelline pencil to define them and fill in sparse areas. I'm dying to try the Anastasia pomade lately but I'm worried it's mostly for thicker looking brows? Need opinions from those who have tried it please.
I use a spray brush cleanser on my brushes once a week. I have noticed that I need to clean my foundation and concealer brushes more frequently for optimal use. Should I be cleaning all my brushes everyday? I've heard of some people using oils and conditioners and was thinking of just leaving my bushes in a container filled with a mixture of water and shampoo after application while I am at work then removing them when I get home and spritzing them with hair oil (maybe once a week) then air drying them till morning. Is this a good idea? I would still clean them with the brush cleanser once a week. Do you think hair oil should be lightly spritzed after each shampoo/water soak?
Dates have been announced and tickets to the general public are on sale! Who's going next year? For those who don't know, IMATS [International Makeup Artist Trade Show] is a three day event where different makeup artists come to perform different panels/informational meetings and different vendors from various brands have things on sale!
I never find foundations that work with my combination/acne prone skin, however MUFE HD has made me look halfway decent these last two years. I have read so many reviews that the new formula does not cover imperfections/redness or last all day which is necessary for me (often at school or work 8 plus hours a day). Is there another foundation that is similar to MUFE HD in that it covers imperfections, is long wearing, and does not look cakey??? My last bottle of foundation is running low and I am getting very nervous.
I don't know about you ladies, but I rarely wear makeup on dates. Maybe just mascara (Guerlain Maxi Lash sample). I don't want foundation or lipstick rubbing off... or heck, even sweating off sometimes. What would you guys wear for a date? My dates are usually brunch, movie and dinner. (If you're wondering what I do instead, I usually get a sheet mask and prep my skin the day before or day of.)
With all of the various threads dedicated to particular brand releases, I thought it would be fun to have one specifically for new and upcoming BITE Beauty. This thread will be for products and collections separate from the Lip Lab Limited Release collection of this calendar year, which can be found over here: http://community.sephora.com/t5/Lips/Bite-Lip-Lab- Sephora-color-of-the-month/m-p/1847087#M18730 Upcoming Releases: July 7 - U.S. Frozen Berries Matte Crème Lipstick Collection and 'Opal' gloss and lipstick toppers launch on Sephora.com (thanks to niki172 for sharing the info on release dates) July 14 (or 16?) - Canadian Maple Matte Crème Lipstick Collection and Maple Agave Lip Mask launch on Sephora.ca (thanks to Mochapj for sharing the info on release dates) July 17 - U.S. Frozen Berries Collection and 'Opal' toppers available in U.S. Sephora stores July 17 - Canadian Maple Collection and Maple Agave Lip Mask available in Canadian Sephora stores Frozen Berries Matte Crème Lipstick: http://www.sephora.com/frozen-berries-collection-P 398405?skuId=1718691 Opal Matte Crème Lipstick: http://www.sephora.com/opal-matte-creme-lipstick-P 398401?skuId=1718733 Opal Crème Lip Gloss: http://www.sephora.com/opal-lip-gloss-P398403?skuI d=1718741 Original post (6 June 2015): Spoiler (Highlight to read) To start things off, I recently came across this image on Instagram, describing a shimmery BITE lipstick topper to be released through Sephora in July (!). Has anyone else heard of this? I did some quick research and tried to gather more information before posting, but I cannot find anything else about it from any other beauty bloggers. Honestly, I can't see the shimmer in this photo, but it's not high quality nor is it a closeup. I also haven't managed to find any product shots yet. I have started cleaning my mascara wands using a makeup brush spray cleanser. I started doing this to keep the wand nice and free from clumps. Does this extend the mascara/help keep bacteria from forming in the tube?
I already have the Filmstar bronze & glow palette but looking into some of her other products. Does anyone have any experiences they would like to share esp with her Light Wonder Foundation, her blush and the Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder? I'm interested in getting these three things but still on the fence about taking the plunge! Please let me know, many BTers opinions have helped me out on products before Thanks in advance!
I don't have acne, but my skin easily breaks out with new products or products that are too harsh. I prefer medium to light coverage and something that doesn't feel heavy on the skin. I would characterize my skin as combination.
I'm going to post a picture of me without makeup. Because hey, I love makeup, but I'm also working on embracing my face au naturel, too. None of this "I'm not wearing makeup" when you're wearing a tinted moisturizer, brown mascara, and have a slight flush to your cheeks and lips. I'm talking no makeup AT ALL (No, not even clear lip balm). This is me, about 10 minutes out of the shower. Anyone else brave enough?
Anyone else find this super annoying? I have a bunch of foundations in my current collection that I love - both drugstore and some high end that I've tried that all seem to have SPF in it. Now during the day when I'm just going to work or whatever obviously I don't mind, I wear moisturizer with SPF on a daily basis anyways. But my foundations I prefer to wear on a night out (due to coverage, flawless-ness, etc..) always seem to have SPF as well. I'm alright pretty white as it is lol so it's pretty frustrating. I kind of wish they didn't include it in foundation so that if you feel you need it, you could just add a moisturizer underneath.
I've just recently found out this brand was a thing, and I am really interested in them. But, while I am a sucker for witchy themed makeup (shocking right?) this brand is pretty steeply priced, so I'm afraid of shelling out for something that might end up being a dust catcher. I didn't find many of the reviews for them, though I tend to not really like reviews unless I'm at least passingly familiar with the reviewer anyway. I signed up for their newsletter and they sent me a nice coupon ($10 off $50+ if memory serves) so I will probably end up going for it but I would love to hear what BT has to say about them! (They sure know how to grab attention though don't they?)
My eyelashes are VERY straight and thin. Do any of you know of a mascara that can thicken them and keep them curled? They always go flat after a few seconds! I've only ever been able to use CoverGirl's LashBlast Waterproof mascara and want to try something else.
I normally just use my finger to create the line and then brush with my bronzer brush to remove the harsh line. Ive been debating between the mars kabuki brush and the kat von d's new brush.... any advice??
I have blonde hair, blue eyes and fair skin and I'm looking for a berry lipstick that won't wash me out too much. I love the way darker, more purple berry colors look on women with tanner/darker skin tones, but I'm not sure if I can pull those off with my pale/fair skin (and I don't want to look absolutely ridiculous!). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
I was wondering if Opal could work on fair skin (I have slight yellow undertone). I would most likely will be mixing it with moonstone though, but curious if it could work alone as well? I bought Champagne Pop, but I'm on the fence about it. It's not too dark at all, but it just kind of sits on top of my skin, if that makes sense. It doesn't really "melt" into the skin. It's obvious I put some shimmer on my skin. Any feedback would be wonderful!
If I have the Rose Gold highlighter from Becca or even NARS Orgasm illuminator, would I really need Champagne Pop? I feel like they're all a bit similar but I could be wrong. I think Champagne Pop is gorgeous but dishing out another $38 for it makes me sad. LOL.
