I am in a desperate search for this in shade #42. I'm getting ready to relocate to Singapore and even though there are Sephora stores there, I want this to take with me to cut down on the stress of finding the store and then locating this shade. Since I have seen inquiries about this particular shade so much on Sephora....why was it discontinued????
I've had my eyes on the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector highlighter for a while and I really want to go ahead and purchase one of the shades. I'm in between moonstone and opal. If any of you have these highlighters let me know your opinion on them. I have very fair skin, which of the 2 would work best for me?
So, last weekend a couple of friends and I decided to go to a bar/club in town to hang out. I got way dolled up and, in the process, discovered a new style of lipstick application that I love! And to be frank, I discovered in completely by accident while trying to decide what color to wear. So, I'm wondering, does anyone else wear this style occasionally? (Weird and awkward selfie included to show off what I mean! Not to mention, I'm a camera queen. )
I'd love to know what you gals (or maybe guys) use or suggest as a primer. In addition to longevity I'm looking something with a smoothing effect for pores and baby wrinkles. I am finishing up my Stila color correcting primer which did nothing for my slight redness but it def gave staying power. I had been waiting for months for sephora to restock illamasqua hydra veil buttttt it seems like they won't be restocking it at all. And I don't want to pay the ridiculous taxes and shipping to have it sent from the UK. I was looking at the Clarins or too faced. Any suggestions??
My Guerlain foundation is a serial oxidizer! I use Tenue de Perfection and without a primer, I STILL LOOK LIKE SNOOKI. I went from shade 23 to 04 (ok, not much of a difference there), but it'll look fine with a primer (me thinks) I only got a few days to exchange (stupid online orders!) and I'm looking at the Joli Teint. Should I give my Tenue de Perfection another chance or switch out? This is the second oxidation problem since I had Lingerie de Peau. Joli Teint is new. I'm getting into fights because I really A. plan to get it for Chic Week or I have to use my VIB intro coupon that I saved from last year. Plus Joli Teint seems better in terms of formulation. It's lighter coverage...
I feel eye shadow is the most universal item. So many colors, brand, prices. But, even if eye shadow is not your favorite you crave more. Last year I bought stila in the lights, Bh cosmetics's party girl. Now I want Too Face Chocolate Bar, The Divergent Multi collection, Naked Basics, Naked 3. Anyone else have a hard time finding a reason for more.
I have recently been reading an article that said wearing blue eyeshadow makes you look like a clown so NEVER wear blue eye shadow. So no blue eye shadow at ALL! Well I highly disagree with this. Blue is a graceful color. If you wear it and put it on right it won't make you look like a clown! I wear blue eyeshadow when its night time.
I know I'm not the only one who desperately misses Kat Von D's Lock-it Tattoo Foundation in Shade 42. It was an ivory / porcelain, almost white shade. I bought it online for the first time recently (Christmas) and was so happy with it, I went to my local Sephora to buy more. Sadly, it's gone. I bought the shade that's now the lightest and should've worked for me -- 44 -- but it was too dark. It's terrible!! Why is 42 gone? I know many of us wore it because it was the only full coverage foundation that lived up to everything I wanted (long lasting, stayed matte, covers well), and actually MATCHED my super-fair skin for once. Before I found Lock-it shade 42, I was using Hourglass Vanilla. I love the coverage -- stays put, doesn't break me out, lasts a long time, looks elegant, doesn't get greasy -- but it's just a smidge too dark. I've also tried Porcelain (same as vanilla shade but for yellow skin tones) but I obviously need something pink because it made me look sallow and weird. Anyway, the characteristics I'm looking for: 1. matches my very light skin 2. full coverage (buildable is fine) 3. long lasting - doesn't get greasy or require touch ups My Kat Von D Lock-it Tattoo Foundation in shade 42 was everything I ever wanted and now it's gone... just to reiterate. I want to try Illamasqua but the light shades are always shown as "out of stock" online and I've been told they don't know if they'll get them in stores either. I've tried a few others. Occasionally I use a Chanel foundation that's been a fall-back for years, but it still looks a little too dark / yellow for me in natural light (even though the girls at the Nordstrom counter swear it matches me - it does NOT). The worst one I've tried lately that was supposed to match me was YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat in Beige 10 - really bad. Not only was it a bad match, but it must be made for someone with really dry skin. I have combination skin. Not only was I yellow and greasy in an hour, but it didn't cover, at all. I don't want another experience like I had with YSL. I have combination skin that's less oily these days (lots of chemical peels to help close pores) and I need a makeup that will last even on my oilier days. Any help would be appreciated. I am subscribed to a few threads already. I'm posting this because I'm extremely frustrated that I finally found the perfect foundation after all this time and it's now discontinued. I sometimes wonder if it's a conspiracy to get us ultra-light porcelain people to use self-tanner. Maybe that's why it's impossible to find makeup in our perfect shade.
I was on Reddit's Makeup Addiction and user MyLittleLabMonkey posted a sneak preview of the new Too Faced Summer Collection. I didn't find a previous discussion on it, so sorry if it's a repost! All I could find is that the launch date is in April. First pics are from reddit, the last one I found on a UK site. C'mon, let's admit it, we've all hidden make-up or made up what we use to our family. Remember the days for some of us where we had to pretend we didn't wear make-up and we put a lipstick under the bed so mom wouldn't see? Or lied about how much you've spent? Welcome to: Make-Up Confessions! (Just please don't tell my grandma about my extensive Guerlain collection! I think she may have saw the packaging though...) My grandma prefers I use cheaper make-up from drugstores... oh man, that VIB card is not going to make her happy...
I recently had my color IQ captured at a store and I am a 1Y02. One of the matches that comes up is for Marc Jacobs Beauty Marvelous Mousse Transformative Foundation in Color 12 Ivory - for very fair complexion w/pink to beige undertone. I think I might like to try Marc Jacobs Beauty Genius Gel Super-Charged Foundation, but the colors are listed without the nice descriptors like the Mousse variety. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what color would be the closest match? Thanks in advance for your advice!
Hi! I would like a recomendation to choose a foundation for my wedding day! It will be taking place in the summer, so I need something to stick on my face but still look like myself. I have combination skin, and a little bit of redness. And im pretty sure it will be hot that day, so I dont want to be oily-shiny. Hope you can help me!! I was thinking about studio skin 15 hour wear foundation, but im not pretty sure! I linked a photo of myself so you can have an idea, I have make up on, and the other one with the pink t-shirt with no makeup at all HEEEELP!
Any of you tried one, or both of these pretties? I am trying to decide between the two, as they look pretty similar in pictures. I love the Chanel but I get points and dollars towards Rouge requalification if I choose the Dior, so....decisions, decisions!
Hi everyone! I can't decide what powder foundation buy, I have the MUFE Pro finish powder foundation (I'm the shade 117 golden ivory) I have very oily skin and I feel the pro finish don't do much against that. Which one do you recommend?
Calling all palette addicts! Considering a LOT of us all have the same ones, let's swap some of our best "recipes"! I do with some non BT friends and we have a blast. It's just a great way to get and share ideas or try something you might not have thought of! It's also fun to see how the same thing can look different on someone else. I mentioned the other day in the palette parade thread that it would be cool if someone started a thread with a picture of a cool eye look and we all tried our hands at it. So CalamityJane (the bully) told me to start it. My immediate thought was "But I wanted someone else to do it!!" Then I decided I was being a whiny little b*tch and should get to it. So without further ado, here's the first Eyeshadow Inspiration! I had been wanting to try a green/bronze eye look for awhile and thought this one looked fun. Here is my not-very-good attempt at it: As always, lighting was a bit of an issue (why won't my blush ever show up?!?), but even though the colors aren't captured perfectly you can still kind of see them. Anyone else want to try? Feel free to substitute colors and change it up (maybe using whatever your palette-of-the-week is?). I love seeing what people here come up with!
I just got my Sephora order with the Chocolate Bar palette and the Stila 100 point lippie... And they both look used. The Chocolate Bar had one of the pans popped out, and all the rest have smudges of other colors on them and look like there have been fingers wiped across them. The Stila lippie is squashed and there's color all down the side of the tube! What the heck, Sephora?!
This is a small Indie cosmetics company, and I'm currently lusting after their Arcane Magic Eye Shadows. They're these loose eyeshadows that are very sparkly and get this; THEY CHANGE COLOR. Depending on the angle and lighting, these shadows will change in color. Now in theory, that means they'll change to lighter colors when light is hitting them, therefore they will darken by themselves in the creases. This would mean that the days of using a billion colors and shades to do eyeshadow are gone because the shadow would adjust its shade and color to match your contours. Here's the link: http://www.fyrinnae.com/index.php?_a=viewCat&catId =14 Apparently their fairy epoxy primer/glue is very good too. A lot of bloggers rave about it.
What happened to the Make Up Forever lip shade finder? I used it previously to find the most perfect neutral shade for me in the Aqua Rouge line. I'd like to get a darker, more burgundy-ish shade now since I know I LOVE the Aqua Rogue, but the shade finder seems to have disappeared. Help! Thanks!!
My name is Bombshell and I continue to be an eyeshadow addict enthusiast !! However, five weeks ago I began a quest to actually start using my mountains and mountains of palettes and shadows. Along with some awesome ladies who have joined in I have committed to using the same palette 5 days in a row and posting the results at the end of five days. Those with single shadows are welcome to join in as well! If you are interested in the original rules & lists posted they can be found in off topic, (take the challenge: palette parade). the gist of it is make a list, plan to show all your shadows love for extended period of time (5days), if you hate it first day move on. I am also planning to add weeks of singles by brand (Stila week, UD week, Nars week). I think instead of posting and editing lists it would be easier to report what we plan to use at the beginning of the week and the report the results at the end. We meet here at the end of the week to discuss what we wore for the week, how it worked for us and most importantly to share pictures and advice! Anyone can join as we all started at different times and have different numbers of palettes, and will finish at different times. I am looking at 38 (?) more weeks if I don't buy one more palette! Xoxo I look forward to more fun parading with all you girls!
