In the spirit of all the other wonderful challenges on BT right now, I'm starting up a nail polish challenge for us. I have a ridiculous stash and I need to show my polish some love. With nail polish, once a day would be absurd (of course), so let's try and show off a new look and polish once a week. I'm personally going with manicures only, but if you'd rather do pedicures or even both go for it! I'm eager to see your collections and meet other polish junkies. It's past time for me to commit to using my stash! Alright, wise people of Beauty Talk. I have a lipstick holder and keep all my MAC lipsticks in it. I spend so much time on the morning pulling them out and turning them to read the label and find the one I want. I was complaining to my sister about this morning ritual and I said I was probably just going to store them upside down so the labels are easy to read. She gasped as though I had suggested that I give them all to my daughter to use as crayons and just buy a tube of Chapstick as replacement. She said all of the bullets would break off due to gravity and they'd be ruined! Is she right? Do you store your precious tubes of coloured happiness upside down or right side up?
I have not liked other highlighters I have tried and have even thrown a few away. However, I am completely in love and obsessed with the Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes and have *almost* every single shade. Does any use these as a highlighter as well?

As some people might know (mainly Canadians lol), Murale (from Shoppers Drug Mart) is having their semi-annual "fab and free" gwp. I only own a mini blush from Nars in the shade "Super Orgasm". I'm definitely on the pale/fair side of things and was looking to pick up a blush or two as part of my qualifying purchase. Any shade suggestions? If anyone has any other suggestions as to what I should look into picking up from Murale, please let me know! Thanks!
I'm looking for a new eye primer. I have Too Faced Shadow Insurance and it's too thick and makes shadow clumpy on me. I also have UD classic eye primer and that's too sticky and doesn't work for me. Any other suggestions? Thanks so much!! :-)
Hi, my name is Alyssa and I'd like recommendations and/or advice on what foundation to use for my skin as well as skin care. A little background about my skin, for starters I have a very pale complexion. Also, I have very oily skin which is very acne prone; at the same time it dries out if I wash my face and don't use face lotion afterwards. Walmart and Target sell makeup that are porcelain and ivory colors which usually have pink or yellow undertones which in turn make my skin orange or gives me that dreaded makeup line along my jaw. I have found foundation before, at Sephora, that was my skin color but it made me look dull and dead and I was just not a fan of it and eventually got rid of it after a handful of uses.
Ladies, in the spirit of February being the dead of winter, let's bring some extra warmth to BT. I've noticed many ladies mention over the past few months that they lack the confidence or comfort level to rock a red lip. In that vein, I've decided to do a red lip a day for the next 28 days (or until I run out). Please feel free to pop in and join me by posting a pic of your red lippie, even if you don't want to don a red every day. And who knows, you might even find your next great red this way! I need swatches!!! As I see the new collection fly out of stock online, I've been scouring the internet for swatches to get a better feel of how the shades look. Most of them also look to be multiple shades of pink on the Sephora site, which doesn't seem to match up with the shade descriptions provided. Can anyone share their experiences so that, you know, I'm hopefully not compelled to get 18 out of 20 of them?
I recently bought the Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage 12-hour Foundation, does anyone have any tips or tricks on how to apply it and what to apply it with? I've always struggled with putting on foundation without it looking splotchy and chalky. I have normal skin with minor breakouts and post-acne marks. Thanks everyone!
Hi guys! I just recently received my Kat Von D contour palette, and i must say, its AMAZING! I was going back and forth with the Anastasia palette and this one but Kat Von D won simply because i love her eyeliner and lipstick so i figured why not give it a try right? Plus it looked like the container had way more product (and it did, this is actually a very large palette). The colors were great if you use it with your Beauty blender, i found that using it with a brush can get really dusty and messy quickly. But the palette is way better than the Makeup Forever palette and the Ben Nye powder I had, just because Kat Von D colors show up way better. It looks like my makeup got done by a professional! What did you guys think of it?
Hey Beauties- We have ALOT of threads around here for Tom Ford products. I figured I'd start one thread where we can update each other on items as they come out or we see them available. For all my UK'ers, or people willing to pay for shipping from the UK, Harrods has Softcore and Nude Dip from the Fall collection available right now. Happy Shopping!
So the contour cream kits are now available at Anastasia Beverly Hills. They come in 3 shades: Light, medium & deep. I've heard great things about the contour creams and I'm sooo interested in getting one since I've started doing more contour work. However, I haven't had the greatest experience ordering directly from ABH. Does anyone know if Sephora will be carrying the ABH contour cream kits any time soon??
Hey guys! Have you tried the Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks from Kat Von D? I'm curious to know if they dry out your lips since it does have a matte finish. Would applying lip balm beforehand help with the dry feeling? I'm hoping it's not a product that will make my lips feel dry the entire time I have it on because that bothers me so much!! Any pros and cons would be helpful!
Spring break is coming up and I'm wondering what the best type of foundation is to use...a light, normal foundation, bb cream, cc cream? The problem is I need something with full coverage, since my biggest problem is acne scars that I need to hide. Right now I have a whole procedure involving moisturizer, primer, liquid foundation and powder foundation, and I'd rather not lug all that on vacation. Anyone have any knowledge or experience for the best hot weather, lightweight, full-coverage makeup?
SO EXCITED!! 11/28/14, they are coming out with 50 LE miniature lipsticks, selling at $32 each. I need them all. A snippet from an article about them: " In the Lips & Boys lineup, there are 10 shade ranges, encompassing nude browns, violets and plums, metallics, reds and light pinks. The high-pigment shades are done in a base of soja seed extract, Brazilian murumuru butter and chamomile flower oil. Thirty-six offerings are new shades; 10 are from Velvet Suede, Ford’s current seasonal color story, and four are from previous seasons. Ford predicted bestsellers will include Tomas, a coral hue; Matthew, a coral pink; Flynn, a light pink; Giacomo, a deep rose, and Patrick, a muted coral pink. Each clutch-size lipstick will retail for $32. The lipsticks can also be packaged in sets of any three hues in the collection."
Hello everyone! Hope everyone's having a gorgeous day! I need some good recommendations for an undereye setting powder and maybe a new concealer recommendation while I'm at it. My major concern is having the concealer look natural and having it not settle into fine lines. Here's some info about me: -I'm a 2y09 with the IQ system here (so I'm kind of a coppery/tanned tone irl) -I have dry/normal skin with no blemishes anywhere besides the eye -Genetic dark circles that are a ***** to cover -I have seasonal allergies (Spring/Fall mostly) -Right now I use MUFE HD Concealer in 12 -I use LM Tinted Moisturizer in Tawny I heard a lot of people recommend the Anastasia contour palette but I don't want to buy a whole palette if I'm going to use one color, you know? But I also have to do what I have to do so if it's highly recommended I'll bite the bullet. Thank you for your help!
Hey there Right now UD is having a 20% on there site im quite new to the High End world and Was wondering doesnt Sephora have a 20% there site and store in april?? I saw that some where. There are some ud products i want and i was wondering if i should wait til then? I am 131 from VIB do I have to be VIB before then to get the 20% off in sephora?? Thanks Ladies!
can they be passed from a bottle of polish? About 2 weeks ago, my sister borrowed an as yet unused polish from me, and her HH aide did her nails. Yesterday she turned up with infections in both thumbs. We're drowning all the nail tools in the house in alcohol, but what about the polish? We think she got another manicure in between the one with my polish and the infection showing up, but we just can't be sure, and her aide is on vacay so we can't even check to see if it came from her tools! Just to be safe, I tossed the bottle and ordered a new one (Deborah Lippmann in LE Dark Side of the Moon). So aggravating, I bought it in the Fall, then proceeded to break nails, rip cuticles, and get blisters so I've been unable to get them done. Now everything's healed and grown to a decent length, and I was just thinking of getting a mani/pedi tom'w and this happens! And since I never wore it, I'm not even certain that I really like it enough to have spent $36 on it! Aaah, the things we do!
i would go to a counter but i just really hate going to the mac macy's store for this kind of thing. i can go in for lipstick and lipliner and anything else but i can never go in and get shade matched. they either recommend a different concealer i do not want or they match me way too dark and orangy im custard in nars creamy concealer and im fiji in nars sheer glow. please and thank you i do say im cool toned but than again im not that sure im pale and turn red easily so i assume im cool toned
I've always tended toward lighter coverage foundations, but lately I've been making my way through my sample stash and I realize I also really like the more flawless look that full coverage gives. But the ones I've tried so far are incredibly matte and seem to dry my already dry and sensitive skin out further, even when I use a hydrating primer and more hydrating products on top. Are there any fuller coverage concealers that have more of a dewy look and that don't feel as drying?
I've come to the realization that I tend to buy a lot of the same colors of shadows, largely because I don't like how really vivid, true colors look on me so I tend to gravitate more towards neutrals. I have a lot of dusty purples and warm browns and light pinks. For me it feels like the hole in my collection is some cooler toned neutrals. I already have the Naked 3 palette, the Smashbox Photo Op Trio in Sepia, Nars Ondine, Clinique / Colour Surge Eye Shadow Trio Come Heather, a Sephora Smokey Eye Palette that doesn't seem to be around anymore, Benefit Peek a Bright, the Boudoir Eyes Palette, and the latest urban decay ammo palate for fun. I've heard people recommend Naked 2 as being cooler, but it still doesn't seem that cool to me. Are there any others you'd recommend. I'm open to single shadows as well as palettes, trios, etc. Bonus if it's UD given there is a sale right now, though I also really like the Smashbox and Nars formulas on my skin type and am open to other brands.
