Happy Friday all! Lately I've been obsessed with concealing my under eye circles (mostly from lack of sleep I'm guessing). I feel like when I conceal them - I make them worse! I'm using Benefit's erase paste right now and also tried to use that on the inner part and then YSL Touche Eclat on the outter part to highlight and take away from the inner dark circles. Nothing seems to worse so I'm thinking I am doing something wrong - any advice? Thanks!
heyyy~ ive been researching the different naked eye palettes and I still can't decide which one to get. I'm asian, with double eyelids and fairly big eyes. I want one for an everyday natural look. I did pick up the naked basics palette two days ago,....but it's either I have no idea how to use it or I'm doing something wrong with it. (I also did watch many youtube tutorials so I have no idea whats up) Thanks!
I received an email from QVC the other day that said Kat Von D makeup will be launching on their network on September 21, 2015. It will be an hour show from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm CST (3:00 pm PST, 4:00 pm MST, and 6:00 pm EST). For those of you who have never shopped with QVC before, they often offer exclusive products in each beauty line they offer. I buy Tarte products from both Sephora and QVC, and QVC: (a) offers exclusive Tarte products available nowhere else, including holiday kits and palettes (there is a QVC exclusive Tarte eyeshadow palette with brush available on QVC's website now) (b) often packages products to provide a better value (i.e. will include a brush with foundation and palettes, will sell a set of three lipsticks for the price of two, and will offer super sizes of popular products for the price of a regular size), and (c) launches beauty products and maintains exclusivity rights for a period of time (such as Tarte's Rainforest of the Sea Water foundation coming out this month). I know at this point it sounds like I work for QVC, but I promise I do not, I'm just excited about the potential of obtaining exclusive Kat Von D products, having her products packaged to offer a better value, and seeing Kat present her products and any tips or hints she might provide. I would be remiss if I did not mention the drawbacks of shopping at QVC - shipping is expensive ($3.00 for each product, not each order) and it seems slow. Sephora has me spoiled with free 2 day shipping, and that is why I will continue to split my beauty purchases between Sephora and QVC. :-)
I decided to do swatches and dupes of the Melt Cosmetics Lovesick and Dark Matter stacks for those who are contemplating purchasing them. These are the closest dupes I could find in my collection. I hope this helps. (Dupe is on the left, Melt on the right except for Promiscuous which is reversed) Promiscuous- a violet blue duochrome. Blue comes out over a black base. Dupe: MUG Caitlin Rose. Caitlin Rose doesn't have the blue duochrome, is lighter and has a foiled finish. Fixated- a matte blue-gray Dupe: LORAC Gray eyeshadow (Mega Pro palette). A few shades lighter and not as blue. Amelie- a gold-peach duochrome. Dupe: ABH China Rose. China Rose is a few shades darker and the duochrome isn't as strong. Lovesick- a matte wine burgundy. Dupes: MUG Bitten and Marsala Matte from the COTY palette. These are a few shades lighter and are less pigmented. Blurr: a matte light peach Dupe: LORAC Camel (Mega Pro palette). A shade or two darker and leans more yellow. Unseen: a matte medium brown Dupe: ABH Caramel. Exactly the same as Unseen. Enigma- a matte rust brown Dupe: Hot Chocolate from the COTY palette. A few shades darker. Not as rusty. Dark Matter- a matte black. Leans a bit gray. Dupe: ABH Noir- Noir black. My favorite black eyeshadow.
I recently made an appointment to get my make up done and I was just wondering if the people that do your make up are certified? And i mean really certified like they are at Mac, i know it is tough to get a job there. I see a lot of mixed answers and just want to be sure. I love the variety at Sephora but do not know much about the ppl that actually work there. I am getting my make up done for my 21st birthday and don't want to be disappointed. THANK YOU!
SO! My inner goth child gets to come out and play because Manson is coming to town Halloween weekend. And of course I am going because this is a can't miss even for most of the folks around here of a certian age lol I am already thinking about looks because this will be one of those times that I don't realy think that a few swipes of taupe eye shadow and MAC Rebel will cut it. So i turn to my lovelies on here to get some ideas
I was wondering why, when I sort products by "new" on the website, some new products come up, but also some products that have been around for a long time come up, but say "new". For example, when I sort foundations by what is new, the Lancôme Teint Idole 24 Hr comes up with "new" under it, although I know it has been around a long time. When I click on it, it has the same description and reviews from a long time ago. Does this just mean that the formula has changed? If so, I think it would be nice if it was put into an entirely new category so that the old reviews and answers to questions don't come up when I am trying to decide on the new formulation. Thanks.
I recently ordered the Becca The One Perfecting Brush. When I received it, some of the bristles were bent (I think it's from the flap of the box...it might have gotten wedged between the bristles in transit). Or is this the way the brush is supposed to look like? I haven't used it yet and am considering bringing into a store to exchange. Thoughts? UPDATE: realized I added this as a question, so I can't reply to myself (oops...first time starting a thread on BT), but thank you for all the replies. I am definitely going to go in store so I can compare to the brush on display and probably also exchange for a new one. Thank you everyone for your answers! They definitely helped me feel like an exchange is the right route here.
Hi ladies! I'm interested in trying the Marc Jacobs Re(marc)able Foundation, but I'm having trouble choosing a shade. My color IQ from last month is 2Y04 and that matched to Bisque Light 22 - fair with pink undertones. That makes no sense to me, as I definitely have a yellow undertone. I'm a MAC NC20-25, and I'm currently wearing MUFE Ultra HD in Y313. The MUFE is a shade too dark, as my summer tan is starting to fade. Does anyone have any swatches they would be wiling to share with me? I'm torn between Bisque Neutral 27 - fair with yellow undertones and Bisque Medium 26 - fair with neutral undertones. Any advice, comparisons or swatches is appreciated, as there's no way I can make the trip to my local Sephora this week.
This is more about helping me understand what the girl at Sephora wrote on my foundation sample. So I've been looking for a good foundation for some time now and since I don't know much about this I decided to visit my local Sephora. I found the foundation I liked but I'm just having a really hard time finding it since what the girl helping me wrote down doesn't seem to match any of the foundations online. Would someone please help me find this foundations by MUFE or tell me if she just wrote random numbers down? The foundation is MUFE #4365
Hi I recently started using Nars sheer glow foundation and I am in the shade punjab and I really was wanting to try Nars concealer stick but unfortunately i don't know what shade i would be so i was wondering if you would mind helping me. Thank You!!!
So I just picked up some of the UD.com exclusive Revolution shades, and I was looking around for a place to post swatches and realized (thanks guzelkiz!) that Urban Decay was not yet represented among the various brand threads. A travesty! So here it is. The shades I picked up are Protest and Matte Carnal. I was afraid they would be dupes of things, because I apparently tend to buy the same-ish shades of nude/muted colors over and over. The good news, they're not! Both are close to things I have, but they're not exact dupes, at least in natural light. Here's Protest, between NARS Audacious Anita on the left, and Raquel on the right, with Jane underneath. It's close, but it's still warmer than Anita and darker than Raquel, so score! Here's Carnal, between Jeffree Star Celebrity Skin on the left and NARS Audacious Jane on the right. Again, close, but warmer than CS and darker than Jane. Anybody grab the other UD.com exclusives yet?
Wasnt there a way to choose UPS for shipping? Or am I confusing it for USPS? I won't go into my issues with Ontrac, everyone's experience is different, some will understand some won't, I'm just looking for a solution to a problem (besides walking into a store to buy then shipping it myself).
I've been contemplating making an order for some Tarte items, but I haven't used much of the brand aside from the Maracuja Oil, the Lipsurgences, a brush I bought recently and of course, their mascara. I want to try some new products. I have my eye on: The Tartelette palette, Rainforest After Dark palette, Tarteist Clay Paint liner Amazonian clay full coverage airbrush foundation (powder) Timeless smoothing primer Amazonian clay 12-hour full coverage foundation Amazonian clay BB tinted moisturizer Smooth operator™ Amazonian clay tinted pressed finishing powder Phew, that was a lot lol . Does anyone have opinions on these items, or have suggestions for something else to try? Thank you so much in advance!
Ladies, I need help in deciding between peony or orange blossom, but I have yet to find either color on somebody with a medium skin tone. I've seen these on pigmented lips, but not on cheeks! Any help would be most welcome. Also, is that champagne pop really worth it? I have shied away from highlighter my whole life, and I keep hearing/reading about it, so please let me know if you love it, or loathe it. Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!
Hey everyone! I'm still something of a newbie to makeup myself, and I was wondering who everyone like to follow for makeup tutorials. So far, I'm a fan of Makeup Geek and Jaclyn Hill, but I know I'm only scratching the surface here. I thought it would be nice to have a resource available for other newbies, so if you guys post your favorites, I'll add them here for everyone's future reference. Makeup Geek The Education section of the website is a great resource, and if you're tempted, you can purchase her products right there. The YouTube channel is also linked below. She does fashion posts, too. www.makeupgeek.com https://www.youtube.com/user/MakeupGeekTV Jaclyn Hill If you don't already know Jaclyn Hill, she's really risen in fame recently, and I think for good reason! She's a professional makeup artist who does mostly nude looks. She recently collaborated with Becca to launch Champagne Pop. http://www.jaclynhillmakeup.com/ https://www.youtube.com/user/Jaclynhill1
Hi, my hair gets really frizzy easily (though it is not curly) and I was wondering which product you would recommend that I could use to avoid this (either shampoo/conditioner, leave-in, or both!). I also have straight eyelashes that are not too hard to curl, but once I put mascara on the curl falls almost immediately. Any recommendations? Lastly, I am looking for a very lightweight foundation that looks naturals with a medium coverage. Thanks!
I have the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder. I generally use it in the crease between my nose and eye duct to help with "shadows" and underneath my eyes for brightening. Are there any additional ways I can use this product?
