Hi all, so I've been using makeup a long time, and I've always bought the less expensive items, NYX is probably the most luxurious makeup item I own but I want to change that and begin buying some higher end items to add to my already large collection. With that said what are the top five items I should look into picking up first? Thanks!
Hello all! I was just wondering what everyone's favorite part of their morning beauty routine is just for fun!! Whether it's playing around with all your different eyeshadow colors, putting on your blush for some rosy cheeks, swiping on your favorite lipstick, making your hair look flawless, or even that last spray of perfume. Personally, I just love picking out what lipstick/lipgloss combo I'm going to finish off my look with. I am a lipstick girl all the way!! What's your favorite??
Hey ladies (and gents?) – As 2013 is coming to a close, I thought we’d like to share the best products we discovered/tried/bought this year. Let’s break it into sub-categories. I’ll go first Face – Laura Mercier Silk Crème foundation – I feel like this is my holy grail foundation, but I still want to try others. Eyes – Laura Mercier Artist palette – It won’t be a Laura Mercier list, I promise Lips – Dior Crème de Rose lip balm Best deal – I’m going to cheat and say two: All the mini perfumes for 100 points instead of 250 points and the Nars Guy Bourdin blush palette PS – Sorry I’ve started waaay too many threads the past few days. That’s what cabin fever will do to ya! Well, that and draining your wallet from all the online shopping you do. Lol PPS - Feel free to add other categories as well, these were the only ones I could think of at the moment.
All images courtesy of Musings of a Muse Still a little ways away, for this collection, but I'm drooling over it. That shadow palette looks gorg, same with the blushes, and so many pretty shades of the La Creme lipsticks! (didn't post pictures with all the shades)
I have a couple of work holiday parties to go to and would love to try something new and dressed up while remaining professional. Does anyone have any ideas? I've done the pale eye with heavy winged liner and red lip a couple of times and want to switch it up (although I do love a red lip for the holidays!)
I won the Benefit 2 truths and a lie contest so I will get to chose $250 in products. I'm new to the brand but entered because I loved the birthday gift this year but now I'm wondering what to get. I'm thinking of getting the Advent Calendar full of minis and trying Gimmie Brow. Any suggestions for me? Best concealer, best highlighter, maybe the Hoola big size for contouring? Any brushes you love? Please help me out! *edit* Final prezzie haul arrived! Thank you for all your wonderful suggestions
So I'm just starting out with makeup and don't have much of anything or can afford anything expensive (well sort of saving up with a job and all) and I'm really fond of the "No Makeup Look." I honestly don't know where to start or buy. I have some things that I hear are really good and light but not too sheer to cover up my blemishes. Here are things about my skin: I have an olive/ light tan skin tone (sand in stay-matte clinique, NC42 in Mac) I have combo oily skin but my nose gets so oily that makeup comes off in an hour. I have dark spots and acne around most of my jawline that I really want to get covered up. I was thinking of buying Tarte's BB primer or Benefits Oxygen Wow along with the naked basics but I'm afraid I don't have any primers that would work for me. I have the bare minerals primer along with the porefessional (which I love for minimizing pores) but those just dont seem to work with my skin. I'm not sure about a blush either. I also want to control the oil that swipes my makeup away in an hour (seriously most makeup comes off in an hour for me.) I'm just hoping to hear some suggestions or cheaper alternatives or maybe some of the products you go for during a "natural look" day.
I've been setting myself up for buying the Sigma brushes. Read numerous reviews, watched many many many youtube video for the past month or so. Recently however, I've became doubtful and searched for a "honest" review (which I strongly believe ALL reviews should be) and found out that for many if not most of the youtubers and reviewers, Sigma sponsored, paid, or gave them free stuff for writing or filming positive reviews. Which I have strong opinions about. (basically, we are not only paying for their profit when we buy their brushes, but for other people's fake reviews) Super annoying. I know there are great brushes from Sigma though (the whole entire brand can't be bad) and I acknowledge that. people who are sponsored or affiliated in anyway with Sigma please don't reply because I'm already frustrated. To people who can give honest opinions, which brushes from sigma are actually worth it? and my real question I guess is, what might be a truly, genuinely good quality brushes? I love bobbi brown brushes from the past but I do think they are too pricey for a college student's budget....
Hey guys! So i'm 13 years old, about 5'4 and 124 pounds. I just kinda want to lose a few pounds cuz y'all probs know how hard it is to be even the slightest bit "bigger" in this society. I'm not like fat or anything but losing the weight wouldnt hurt. My boyfriends pretty supportive of it. I'm generally active... I do cross country therefore I run everyday. Please answer soon i'd really appreciate it. xoxo, Jessi
Has anyone received theirs yet? I just took a peek at my glam room (though I always tell myself not to) and I am pretty pleased with my goodies! The Pop eyeshadow trio is so pretty, I hope I get the natural palette. We always get Be a Bombshell items, which I don't mind. I've never owned an "all over" stick so I'm excited to get it. Nail polish again, which is okay for me. I'm not a big nail person. And I own and love a lot of NYX lip products and Ardell lashes so I am very happy about those! What's in your bag and what do you think of your items? Is this month's bag worth the ten dollars for you?
Hi Loves, So I had purchases the Too Face Beauty Bloggers set, and I fell in love with the Chocolate soleil bronzer; what a great contour shade! I love it so much that I bought a full size over the weekend. The thing is...the texutre of the full size is different than the smaller deluxe sample in the beauty blogger set. The full size is much more finly milled...like I press my brush to it and whoosh! The smaller size was more packed down, and I feel it lent to a more even appication of color. Does anyone else have the full size chocolate soleil? Is yours as finally milled as mine?
The best eyelash curlers really depends on people's eye shape and preference. After terrible experience with a couple of the hyped/popular curlers, I decided to do a comparison between the ones Sephora carries: Shiseido, Lancome, Tarte, Sephora and Tweezerman. Hopefully it will be of help to you, too. Tarte, 1 replacement pad+mascara : smaller and rounder than other 4 curlers and have the squishy-est pad. Parts a bit loose and the middle comes together first so if you don’t squeeze firmly, it looks like ><. Tarte (left) and Shiseido (right). You can see tarte is smaller and rounder. Sephora, 2 replacement pad : Have the firmest pad of all 5 curlers. Comparable to Shiseido, both a tiny bit flatter than other curlers. When I use Shiseido and Sephora, the middle part press against my eyes first, when using Lancome, the whole side+middle press against my eyes at same time. Shiseido, 1 replacement pad: Medium/normal firm pad, comes together evenly. It have a unique dip on the corners, unlike any other curlers. Due to vertical curve of the curler and dip, it actually irritates my eyes and it water every time I use the curler. =/ Shiseido (left) and Lancome (right). You can see the dip in Shiseido while Lancome and other curlers don't have the dip. Lancome, 1 replacement pad : similar to Tweezerman, both very slightly rounder than Shiseido and Sephora, medium firm pad. Tweezerman ProCurl curler, 3 replacement pad : very nice weight, feels durable. 3 replacement pad. Curls all my lashes at once. Couldn’t tell the difference between this and Lancome, except this have a nice weight and feels sturdy (none of the parts feel loose). It also says free sharpening and life time warranty (why would you sharpen your curler?) All in all, if you've got smaller or rounder eyes, go for Tarte. If your eyes are deeper set, Shiseido curler's dip corner will help you get the corner lashes. If you like a firm pad (pro: no sharp kinks/angle. con: require more force to squeeze for a good curl), go for Sephora. Tweezerman feels nicer in my hand than Lancome, but honestly my eyes don't feel a difference when I was curling. I ended up getting the Tweezerman cuz it's got the most replacement pad, and Sephora one cuz it's sturdy and I tend to be heavy handed but don't want to crinkle/cut off my lashes. Happy curler shopping!
Anyone else get uber starstruck when someone you admire comments on your social media posts? Ahhhh I about dies this morning when valerievixenart commented on the picture of her facechart that I tried to recreate. I hope one day I can be as skilled as this woman!
I read on a post that the Guerlain Meteorites were being revamped. What is the difference between them and the Hourglass Ambient lighting powders. I have not tried either but just order the ambient lighting powder in difussed tonight.
The glam room has finally updated, pretty fast considering it usually take around the 12th. Im so excited in trying the mirabella brush, nyx lipstick (never tried it), and be a bombshell. Love to know what you guys are gettings!
One of my biggest problems, beauty wise, has always been makeup transfer. My makeup rubs off everywhere! It has turned me into the most awful hugger because I fear the embarrassment of getting my makeup all over somebody's clothing lol I also had a very embarrassing experience recently and got makeup on a guy's nose from kissing and rubbing noses. He didn't seem to mind, but still totally embarrassing for me. Any suggestions on how to prevent this from happening?
Use Verve on the inner corner of eye as well as brow bone. Then take pistol and cover lid. using black out on the outer corner of eye, under the lash line and up into the crease, blend up and out. Use urban decay 24/7 glide on pencil in zero above lash line and smudge into lash line. Instagram @marissapasick
so i am about to purchase the KVD foundation and i cannot decide which brush to go along with it, i would want a brush that will give me a full coverage, airbrush look. there is just so many i can't decide and i don't wanna risk buying the wrong one. is there anyone who uses this foundation, and if so which brush do you use to apply it? oh i am going to purchase the beauty blender to try it out, i still want a brush though.
I've never been somewhere that someone applies makeup to my face, so Sephora in JCP just opened up next to me and suppppper excited since I don't have to travel more than an hour away to one anymore! That said, I'm going tomorrow for their Too Faced : Joy to the Girls event for BIs. WOOHOOOO!!! So is it proper to go bare faced or should I wear atleast my face makeup (foundation / powder)? I mean I don't want to waste my personal product nor do I want to look like a zombie walking in there. lol
Are NARS blushes overrated? Will the color 'Orgasm' show up on my skin tone which is medium/tan? Good for oily skin? Also someone told me that Elf's Candid Coral is a good alternative for NARS Orgasm because it cost less, anyone else agree or know anything about Elf's blushes? Sorry I'm just a little hesitant to buy NARS. But thank you to anyone that replies(:
