Hey Beauties- We have ALOT of threads around here for Tom Ford products. I figured I'd start one thread where we can update each other on items as they come out or we see them available. For all my UK'ers, or people willing to pay for shipping from the UK, Harrods has Softcore and Nude Dip from the Fall collection available right now. Happy Shopping!
A lot of the other big beauty brands have their own threads now, so I thought, why not NARS? Let's share news about new collections, feedback on products, etc here. I've been hijacking threads lately with my various color challenges. It's time for it's own place! The rules: Each week (Sunday- Saturday) there will be a new color to incorporate into your makeup looks. It can be one item of that color or a whole face. Try to incorporate it 4-5 times during the week, and post your pic, or discuss your colors here with everyone! If you can only do a day or two, that's fine too! This should be fun! For folks on a No Buy, it's a great way to Shop your collection. I hope you'll join me! *schedule to the end of the year Spoiler (Highlight to read) Nov. 1- 1-7: drugstore week Nov. 8- 14: brown Nov. 15-21: my new things! *give those newer things some love Nov. 22-28: bronze nov. 29-Dec 5: oldies but goodies*give your lesser used items love! dec 6-12: green dec. 13-19: Champagne dec. 20-26: Red Nov. 1- 1-7: drugstore weekNov. 8- 14: brownNov. 15-21: my new things! *give those newer things some loveNov. 22-28: bronze nov. 29-Dec 5: oldies but goodies*give your lesser used items love!dec 6-12: greendec. 13-19: Champagnedec. 20-26: Red
I've just recently found out this brand was a thing, and I am really interested in them. But, while I am a sucker for witchy themed makeup (shocking right?) this brand is pretty steeply priced, so I'm afraid of shelling out for something that might end up being a dust catcher. I didn't find many of the reviews for them, though I tend to not really like reviews unless I'm at least passingly familiar with the reviewer anyway. I signed up for their newsletter and they sent me a nice coupon ($10 off $50+ if memory serves) so I will probably end up going for it but I would love to hear what BT has to say about them! (They sure know how to grab attention though don't they?)
I already have the Filmstar bronze & glow palette but looking into some of her other products. Does anyone have any experiences they would like to share esp with her Light Wonder Foundation, her blush and the Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder? I'm interested in getting these three things but still on the fence about taking the plunge! Please let me know, many BTers opinions have helped me out on products before Thanks in advance!
Update...after 15 minutes on hold, Sephora refunded the amount. As long as the refund goes through I'll drop this....but can't delete the post (what customers do when they're put on hold for 15 minutes). My package arrived via UPS repackaged, and missing the two Christian Louboutin lipsticks I'd ordered (the boxes were empty). UPS picked up the packaging; empty envelope and not the box Sephora sent it in. The label had been cut out and repasted on to the envelope. Ups confirmed that the packaging had been damaged and repackaged and that the new label was theirs. Sephora's outcome...no refund. I pay for 2 Louboutin lipsticks and get repackaged empty packaging. I have pictures, as does Sephora, of the envelope. I want my money back or the lipstick I ordered. Sephora told me to contest the charge with my credit card company (love you too Sephora).

It's very easy, convenient, does a random draw, lets you make a wishlist, and allows for the asking of anonymous questions so you don't have to wonder 'will they hate this color or not...'. You will have to add your address to elfster, but no one will see it except for the person who is your santa . Let me know you are interested and I will message you the group URL. ❤❤ Gifting Rules ❤ The minimum is $35 and there is no max. Now note, it doesn't have to be a single item that is $35. It can be multiple items from off of the persons wishlist that total up to be $35. ❤ Feel free to add random goodies to your box to make it more personal, not a requirement, but just throwing it out there that you can. ❤❤ Deadlines ❤ To Sign Up: November 2nd. My Color IQ is registered 4Y06 (tested in store) - Any idea what my closest color match would be for the Makeup Forever HD Stick ? Unfortunately it doesn't come up in my short list. Not too sure how else to find it... suggestions? Thanks in advance
Random question to all: Which brush is the "grandparent" in your collection? By that I mean, which one have you had/used for the longest? I was thinking the other day, and I realized that my blush brush (a Sephora Collection angled blush brush, from back when the handles were silver) has been with me since I was first allowed to do my make-up... At 15. So now i'm interested in other people's personal stashes. Which brush is your "oldie but goodie"?
Here's a rose-steeped look for anyone who loves the colour! Comment below your favourite colour and I'll see if I can make a makeup look based around it. Face: I'm going for a natural, dewy face with a rosy glow. 1. A tinted moisturizer will give you that natural look: http://www.sephora.com/moisture-surge-cc-cream-hyd rating-colour-corrector-broad-spectrum-spf-30-P378 ... 2. This blush/highlighter hybrid is perfect for achieving that glow: http://www.sephora.com/ambient-lighting-blush-P384 963?skuId=1581313 Eyes: These rose gold eyes will match perfectly with the natural glow of your face. 1. Rosy eyes: http://www.sephora.com/naked3-P384099?skuId=157333 6 Apply the colour Limit through-out the crease using a fluffy blending brush. Apply Burnout to the lid for more colour. Use Factory as a liner if you want to stick to the soft look, or use Blackheart for a more dramatic wing. Apply a favourite mascara. 2. Natural brows: http://www.sephora.com/tinted-brow-gel-P187202?sku Id=829721 Lips: to finish off the look apply a rose-tinted lip. You can stick with the natural look by going for a simple lip, or class it up a bit by doing a matte finished look. 1. The simple (apply this starting in the center and use a moisturizer blend all over) : http://www.sephora.com/high-pigment-matte-pencil-P 283905?skuId=1321645&icid2=bite_lp_bestsellers_car ... 2. Matte and fancy (first use a lip primer - Bite Beauty has a great one. Apply this all over, first using the pointed tip as a liner, the again start in the center and apply outwards): http://www.sephora.com/matte-creme-lip-crayon-P387 705?keyword=1619691&skuId=1619600&icid2=Bite_Effec ...
I'm looking for a Powder Foundation for Highlighting. Not those glowy product, but a tinted setting powder instead. I'm now using the MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Foundatin color 120 soft sand, and I'm thinking to get the MAKE UP FOR EVER Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation in a lighter color for highlighting. Does anyone know which shade I should use? Or is there any other tinted powder foundation will be good for highliting and in what shade?
I tried the "light golden " and it's the absolute perfect tone but too pale so I'm looking for slightly deeper version of it, so I thought medium golden would be the logical next step but it's described as having some peachy undertones as well as golden ones so I suspect it would be too orange ...soooo. ..which is darker in the amazing concealer products - the shade "tan" or "tan golden'?.. I looked at other options and the "tan" and the "tan golden" sound nice and warm and hopefully not too dark...not sure which of the two is most like a medium to light with golden undertones, not peachy or pink. any guidance would be appreciated. If I could go to Sephora and try them on or get a face to face advisor I know that would be best but I can't do that now. Thank you for your assistance!
Halp. I need inspiration for my undereye dark circles. Theyre BAD. I used to use MAC NW35 but the grey would still shine through. Right now Im using Tarte maracuja concealer in DEEP as a corrector and that seems OK. But creases a bit and its a dark shade so it corrects the grey but doesnt brighten at all. My undereyes still seem... gloomy lol. Brightening and/or concealing agent that might work for me? Im tanned-medium skin. (NC42 MAC). I tried the Touch Eclat in 3 but It didnt do much.... ? Any other suggestions?
In light of being one of the lucky recipients of a very generous gift from Sephora and Touch in Sol, I would like to dedicate a thread to the Korean based brand and it's products. I personally am not familiar with Touch In Sol. I have seen it on the Sephora site and have overlooked it many times due to a lack of familiarity with the brand. I am a blank slate. I'm eager to try it out and see how it compares to other products and try my hardest to give unbiased reviews. Let's face it, they were a gift and I already love that! Please feel free to share about any products you've tried, loved and cherished, or hated and thrown out the window. This is an information sharing thread, not a fan page- Anything goes!
I'm sure that I'm not alone in saying that I'm obsessed with palettes. So many different eyeshadows in one handy dandy place, plus some even come with blush which is awesome too! There are so many palettes out there and I personally feel like Urban Decay and Too Faced are the only ones that get attention (much deserved) but I want to know about other palettes too! Which palettes do you use the most? Which ones are on your wish list?
Hello all! I was just wondering what everyone's favorite part of their morning beauty routine is just for fun!! Whether it's playing around with all your different eyeshadow colors, putting on your blush for some rosy cheeks, swiping on your favorite lipstick, making your hair look flawless, or even that last spray of perfume. Personally, I just love picking out what lipstick/lipgloss combo I'm going to finish off my look with. I am a lipstick girl all the way!! What's your favorite??
If you're interested in old Hollywood glam I would highly suggest checking out this brand. They have a small but beautiful collection of cosmetics including "Violet brightening powder" for your face and "Cake Mascara". I have never seen anything like the mascara before. It comes in a dry cake (obviously) which you then mix with water to get the right consistency. The really cool thing about this mascara is that you can spritz it with disinfectant to get rid of bacteria, fungus, and mold. Amazing! And because you wet it every time you use it never dries out prematurely. NOTE: Sorry this sounds a little bit like an ad, I swear they didn't pay me to say this, I'm just really excited about this brand. EDIT: I'll review the mascara and violet powder on this post when I get them.
So, I did the lipstick challenge with Greenchilli and all the ladies in that thread and I thought it might be fun to do the same thing with blush. I don't have enough blush to get through a month, but I figure I'll go until I have gone through all my blush. So the challenge is: wear a different blush every day until you run out of blushes or reach 30 days. Anyone want to join me? I use Kat Von D's tattoo lock it foundation (which I love) and a primer from Bare Minerals for oil control (very oily skin), but I have noticed some patchy-ness and a very dry flaky nose as the day wears on. I moisturize and so on, yet my nose seems catch the foundation in a way that looks like I am going to peel at any minute. Any advice?
Do you need to wash your foundation brush every day? Is that the only way to keep bristles from separating/clumping together?I am currently using the Sephora Collection Classic Must Have Foundation Brush #10 with a liquid foundation.
I really want to try out Burberry's new contour pen, foundation and base moisturizer, but I'm not sure what shade I should get; if I should go lighter or darker. I'm Chinese and have lighter skin on my face, possibly a light olive tone? I just have no idea. I currently use Laura Mercier's liquid foundation in "nude," but I don't know how that translates across brands.
Hi I'm really struggling with makeup at the moment and I'd be so grateful if I could have some advice! Here's a few things you should know about my face: - at the moment I only wear concealer, mascara and lipstick as well as Vaseline and an old clear mascara wand on my eyebrows. - I find it really difficult to apply face makeup because I have quite big pores all over my face plus my skins not that great and I get quite a few spots. My skin, although it can get quite shiny, feels very very dehydrated so when I apply concealer on my face it gets really cakey quickly. I also apply it with my hands which probably doesn't help. I have lots of freckles on my nose and teeny barely visible ones that spread under my eyes which I wish I didn't have to cover up because I think they're kind of nice but because I apply concealer under my eyes they have to get covered up too. I never put makeup on my forehead as I have quite a lot of light hair on there and my forehead's really pale so for some reason it never looks right when I apply makeup there. I also don't put makeup on my nose because I have quite big dark freckles so it looks really weird when I put makeup over them- plus my nose has loads of pores. However, because I apply makes on my cheeks, when I blush I only get a red nose and forehead! I also hate my nose because it's quite big and I have quite chubby cheeks and my cheekbones barely show through. I feel like my skin is also quite dull and unhealthy looking. - I have MASSIVE dark circles under my eyes and lots of blue/purple pigmentation. I have very visible veins too and the skin under eyes is a bit bumpy and very thin and delicate. As a result I apply loads and loads of concealer to cover up all the ugliness under my eyes. However, it takes ages to cover up as I have to apply loads of coats of concealer as even one coat of the most full coverage concealer isn't enough and because the texture of my under eye skin is bumpy and dehydrated it gets cakey pretty easily. Because I apply so much concealer under my eyes and not as much on my cheeks (I naturally get quite red cheeks) when I blush it looks like I have massive white circles under my eyes. -Because I have quite thick hair, my eyebrow hairs are also very thick and they are very long so they stick up all over the place and look really unruly! Sometimes I'm tempted to trim my eyebrow hairs but I'm worried that they will just look really stumpy. I some hairs growing above my eyebrows and the ends of my eyebrows are quite sparse because I practically plucked half my eyebrows off when I was younger! However I feel like it would be so difficult to fill my eyebrows in because they are so thick and all over the place. -I have very straight, thick eyelashes which clump SO easily so I find it really really difficult to keep them separated, clump free and with a curl. My eyelids are also a bit hooded which makes it difficult to apply flattering eye makeup and my eyes are often quite bloodshot. My eyes are also pretty small and I think they're quite close together which means I can't really apply eyeliner or eyeshadow on my tight line or under my eyes as it makes them look even smaller. I do quite like my actual eye colour though- my eyes are a grey/blue ocean colour with green flecks. - I have quite small lips/my mouth itself is quite small and not very wide but I have a quite prominent Cupid's bow and my bottom lip is much fuller than my top lip. Despite being quite pale, my natural lip colour is pretty dark (very dark pink/almost red) so I can't really wear any nudes/light pink colours. My lips are also quite dry so my lips almost look flaky when I apply bright/matte lip colours and the lipstick fades quite quickly. So... That's everything! I have a lot of problems with my face but I also don't want to wear too much makeup and I also want to keep it really really natural. And if possible I don't want to wear foundation. Any advice? What makeup products would you recommend i need for a complete makeup collection?? I have no idea what makeup products I need in my makeup bag... Thanks so much for your help, it will be greatly appreciated!!
