so i used to use the mac 217 and i remember liking that brush, about 2 years ago i lost it somewhere and i picked up the sephora classic crease shadow brush #73 . Its decided to crap out on me and is actually hurting my eyelids when i'm using it . Any reccomedations on a new one? I'd like to spend $20 or under maybe a little more for something amazing that will last me a few more years. Ps i wash and care for my brushes often
I need a new foundation, preferably liquid, but I don't know which kind to get. My skin is dry/combination, and I have a light and neutral skin tone. Also, what is the best brush to apply it with? Help!
I've seen a lot of YTers do this video and I thought it would be fun to do a makeup edition. This is just for fun and giggles So here are the guidelines, you don't have to name companies(but you can if you want), but just post things about makeup that you DON'T like. I'll go first. LOL Mid to high priced foundation that don't come with a pump! If I'm paying 40+ for a foundation give me the 5 cent pump! Lip products that you have to use your finger to apply. That is so nasty to me, even if you wash your hands you still putting OTHER stuff on your lips when you use your fingers OR those products that you have to use a brush (OCC lip tars!) I love those colors but I don't have time or the inclination for a brush. (My microbiology prof had us wash our hands, then wipe our fingers on a slide. We left it in the warmer (which is kept at body temp) and came back and 2 days. OHMYGAWD what grew on that slide was DISGUSTING. I can't do finger only applied products to my lips. NEVER.) Makeup lines that don't expand their colors! GRRRR! women of ALL colors love makeup why don't companies think of that or seem to care about that!? So that is that stuff you don't like?
So as we know, prom night is right around the corner (3 weeks for me!), and a girl's biggest stress is hair and makeup. This year, more so than last year, I chose to be daring in my dress choice: a vibrant sea foam green sequin and rhinestone sweetheart neckline beaut. As I vowed to never wear a green dress, I am now posed with the question, what color shadow would look best? Keep in mind I am a brunette with green eyes as well. I'm all for the flashy red carpet look as you can see, and dare to look the best. Any advice/tips?
I desperately need your advice ladies. For days I have been going back and forth from what brushes to order to where to buy them from. One thing is for sure.....I want the F80 brush. Options to purchase at: Sigma site - shipping is about $9 and there's a 10% discount code plus a free gift over $30 spent. Amazon - free shipping over $35. Even though the item is from an authorized seller, I was reading reviews that they may be dupes Charmiss which is a store in Jersey that carries Sigma but it's a bit over an hour away. Im thinking I should just order from Sigma and get a few more brushes since the S&H is the same and I won't place more than one order. Sigma Kabuki Kit has the F80 brush plus 4 others and I was thinking about the Synthetic Precision 4 piece set. It's on sale for $45 but I'm. It sure if I can actually use them as eye brushes. Sorry for the lengthy thread but I'm having such a difficult time deciding which doesnt happen offen
I've been such a slave to Sephora & Ulta that I no longer own any drug store makeup. I'm on a tight budget right now so therefore I must downgrade on a few items. What are you favorite drug store or department store makeups? Eyeliners/Mascaras/Gloss/Eyeshadow...anything...Th anks!
I've seen women who can wear a full face of make up while working out - foundation, eyeliner, everything! I wouldn't wear any myself, because I frankly sweat like a pig and looking pretty/decent/presentable/human is probably the last thing on my mind, but I do marvel the ladies who can look so put together even when they're running or doing reps. I'm really curious how their makeup stays put. I can barely get my eyeliner to stay even when I'm not exercising and not end up with raccoon eyes! :/ (I'm a totally new makeup noob, btw....) Any workout goddesses want to share their secrets?
There was someone who was going to do a foils/small sample TSB. I do not believe that person is still going to do it. If they are, I apologize and will not do one. I have been in two boxes and loved it but I have never started one. If anyone is still interested, I am willing to try to start one. We can use the same rules from the other TSB. Please let me know if anyone is interested. Also we need to decide if we want to do this with a small flat rate box (I believe shipping is around $6.00) or a medium flat rate box (I believe shipping is around 13.00). If you are going to participate, please be prepared for the shipping costs! This box is open for US shipping only. Shipping becomes more expensive for Canada. Once we decide if we want to do a small or medium box I will post pics of what I will start the box out with. If at that time someone decides they don't like what I am starting the box out with just let me know. I want this to be fun for all. Once I get the box back I will go through it & give the leftover items to the local youth group who works with the homeless shelters in Fredericksburg VA. Has anyone come across make-up removing wipes that don't have a smell to them? I've tried nearly every Neutrogena wipe out there (as well as Olay, etc.) and all of them seem to have perfumes in them. It's not a huge problem for me as my skin doesn't break out because of this, but I just personally would prefer to not have my skin smell like pink buttfruit every time I try and clean my face. Any recommendations?
Prom is right around the corner and I desperately need to find a foundation that is good for taking pictures! I tried looking at some at target and ulta, but can't find one that I like so if anyone can help me, that would be great!
I am making a short trip to Tokyo this summer. While a lot of it will be sight seeing, I most definitely will curve out time for shopping. So I just want to hear everyone's suggestions on things worth picking up! I am am not looking for foundations, concealors or powder (unless it's absolutely amazing, contemplating on Cle de peau concealor which is cheaper there). No eyeshadows either, maybe a few mascaras, liquid eyeliners, lip products and as many blushes/cheek products as I see fit and most certainly brushes. (I want to get some hakuhodo or chikuhodo, but any other suggestions are totally welcome) I would prefer something that's more accessible. I recall reading about some products that aren't sold outside of Japan (makeup), and I remember making a note to myself that I should get them when I go but I can't seem to remember. Anyone? So far (just so we don't duplicate) I have my eyes on -Kate mascara base -Kate cream blush (that comes in a jar) -Jill Stuart blush (just because it's so pretty) -Majorica majorca mascar Lastly any tips on good stores, getting around, places to see? Any suggestions are highly appreciated! Last lastly, any other non-makeup related must buys? Thanks tons!
Hi ladies, I'm wondering if anyone else has the same problem as I do with the liptars? They're so pigmented, long lasting, and the colors are amazing , but it's so messy! It's so hard to put on sometimes and you really have to be patient in my opinion. It's also really drying so I'm trying to decide if it's worth the hassle. xoxo, Kelly
so i got an email the other day for a delux sample of the guerlain meteorits sample the other day i was so thrilled because i wanted to try this . I could go in the store and try it on but the idea of getting to play with it was much better lol . I went to check out with the code the next day and it was expired already. Does anyone know if i can get these in store or is it gone forever lol
Has anybody contacted Hourglass and/or received a response about the missing mini primer? When I ordered my palette, it was included in the description on their website. I checked when I heard rumors it was missing in packages and it looks like it was removed from the description at some point (after many orders were placed). I think Sephora removed that part before it went live so at least they were upfront about what we're getting in the mail. That mini-primer pushed me over the edge and got me to order the kit because it added value to $45 worth of product for $58 (plus value for the different shades available I guess). Plus, I really like my primer and would have liked a travel size for when I visit my family this weekend.
Hi all! Sorry I haven't been around lately. Life got in the way. Anyway. Summer is coming up, and the inevitable wearing of fewer clothing items, which means chest will be showing. My problem is this: My face is pink, my neck is a darker yellow, and my chest matches my face (pinker and lighter). I've heard that you'd want to match summer foundation to your chest, so there isn't an obvious color difference. Thing is, there's a color difference even if my foundation matches my chest. My neck won't cooperate at all, so I have a foundation line at my jaw. tl;dr If a foundation matches my face and chest, it won't match my neck. I'm not sure what to do in this situation, so any advice would be appreciated.
so after swatting urban decay's newest pen liner i was super excited!! The felt tip is perfect and the liner is SUPER black. after having it for about days & using it maybe 3 times......THE LINER DRIED OUT! I could not believe this!! It was perfect while it lasted =/ better than my HG Stila pen liner. Im so upset by it. i did take it back. It gave the perfect wing liner too =(
Are any of you clean freaks? I absolutely hate it when my products get dirty. I hate when I have to pour foundation out and it gets around the mouth of the bottle and I can't clean every last bit of it and it just ends up dirtying the entire inside of the cap. I also hate getting concealer around the opening and dirty mirrors from powder fallout.
I have heard many great things about the KGD foundations. The only drawback is that none of the Sephora locations near me (Canada) carry this brand. I didn't want to purchase without testing for compatibility, shade, etc. So I wrote to KGD and they were nice enough to mail some samples of their Moisture Foundation, Aqua Foundation, (in 5 shades) and some skin care samples to address my dry, acne prone skin. They delivered beyond my expectations. I was only looking to find my foundation shade. But ended up receiving a bunch of samples to help with my skin issues as well. I'm truly happy with all the skin care samples I get to try out tonight. I may have to break my no-buy commitment
