I have seen lots of new threads pop up devoted to specific brands and thought I would get some other opinions and ideas about the best of becca. I just in the last year have really fallen in love with this brand. We newest favs are backlight priming filter and blush in flowerchild. I feel like shimmering skin perfector is a must have for every makeup lover. I love using the backlight targeted colour corrector on my dark under eye circles. I have though about trying foundation anyone have any suggestions?what are your favorites?

A place to discuss new, indie and not so talked about brands. There's a few brands I'd like to know more about but didn't want to start a thread for each so decided to start a thread for all those brands that we don't often hear about.
I am new to the blogging community and I just wanted some feedback on my first review! https://reviewingwithlg.blogspot.com/ I love reading reviews and writing them, so I figured "Why not start a blog?"
I've had my fair share of drugstore and high end mascaras, but I have found that they all end up drying out or performing lesser and lesser the more I use, so I tend to stick to drugstore mascaras. Anyone else experience that? It's almost like I get great results the first or second time I use a mascara and then after that it becomes harder and harder to reach the same result. That shouldn't happen with a mascara I'm spending upwards of $20 on.. Anyway, I'm in the market for a waterproof mascara because that's the only way my lashes will hold a curl. I've tried Benefit they're real, Peter Thomas Roth Lashes to die for, Blinc, Tarte lights camera action, Urban Decay perversion, Lancome high definition, Bobbi Brown smokey eye.. As for drugstore I find L'oreal and Maybelline work best for me. I kinda just pick one up and test it so I have about 3 I'm rotating through right now. Any suggestions?
Anne gave me the all ok to start a new thread. I will be updating in the next few days with all the new coming products and info she shared on the chat. A place to help each other find dupes or color match. I often find myself looking up products that I wish I could find a dupe for or seeing something and trying to match the color. Thought this be the best place to ask
Hi ladies! (and some gents ) So recently I developed an obsession with getting my hands on the LE MAC Archie's Girls collection. I finally got all the items I wanted from Ebay, so I wanted to share! My last two looks on the What Are You Wearing Today thread used the blush in the picture. How cute is the packaging? It brings back teenage nostalgia for me. I'm sad I missed out on it when it was released, but I just wasn't that into makeup at the time and didn't know of its existence. Anyway, this got me thinking...what item or items, now discontinued or hard to find, have you been obsessed with getting your hands on? I know for some people, it's Meteorites, and I also saw a LE Tom Ford blush in the hauls thread! Feel free to share pictures if you have them
This thread is the place to post sneak peeks of new products and special collections and to discuss all things Marc Jacobs Beauty! If you are an existing fan or have questions about a particular product or want to explore the brand for the first time, feel free to join the discussion. And of course feel free to post about anything else related to MJ beauty should you be so inclined! I'm curious to know everyone's experience with the brand. Spoiler (Highlight to read) How I began the discussion back in December 2015: To start off, I recently purchased the LE Style Eye Con No. 20 Holiday Palette during the VIB sale, but I have yet to use it or even swatch the colors on myself. It is currently still in "sacred relic" mode in my mind, but I'm also intimidated as it is my first ever large palette purchase. I'm not an eyeshadow expert by any means, in knowledge nor in application. I would like to begin this discussion by inviting those of you who have this palette to post eye looks that you have created with it. I need some ideas! Hey Beauties- We have ALOT of threads around here for Tom Ford products. I figured I'd start one thread where we can update each other on items as they come out or we see them available. For all my UK'ers, or people willing to pay for shipping from the UK, Harrods has Softcore and Nude Dip from the Fall collection available right now. Happy Shopping!
Hey ladies and gents! I'm always on the hunt for new brands to explore. I love supporting smaller companies that are female and/or minority owned. (the ones you share don't have to be) What are your favorite indie brands? Makeup, beauty, body care, clothes etc? I've loved oyin handmade for YEARS since they started in 1999/2000 or so. They have really grown and are now available in target stores in some areas. I also love bake shop butters (the owner is so sweet) she just got married so her shop is closed for now, but her body butters are WONDERFUL and smell so good. Toni Daley makes some AMAZING jewelry! I have some of her earrings and any time I wear them someone always asks me where I got them. Rachel Stewart also make some incredible pins and earrings.
Since I got more views than I expected on my first post I decided to make a follow up with Asian mascaras I hauled from my Asia trip! I have stick-straight Asian lashes that get weighed down by almost every formula, so mascara wasn't something I wore often at all. UNTIL NOW! Here's the first thread with my experience with Western brands: http://community.sephora.com/t5/Makeup/TIPS-FOR-STRAIGHT-ASIAN-LASHES/m-p/2720734#M129691 I did a ton of research before my trip so I could grab all the holy grail mascaras on the Asian part of the Internet, and I'd like to share my feedback so that some of you straight lash gals don't have to waste your money. For the record, they're all amazing and each one holds a curl!! This was my biggest factor. For comparison, my Shu Uemura petal lash mascara was my old favourite because it holds my curl all day and doesn't smudge. The tradeoff though was that it looked too natural and gave me almost no volume. A close second is the benefit they're real. In no order whatsoever: 1. Fairy Drops Platinum Waterproof Mascara This was probably the most raved about in my research. I got it at Sasa in Hong Kong (like an Asian Sephora beauty haven) for about $20 CAD and it is my new favourite!! It does everything it says: curls your lashes and gives them volume. It even added length. My lashes look absolutely fantastic with this mascara and I wear mascara every day now when I never did before. Just to further explain how much this product is worth, my lashes literally are not visible with no mascara on them. I completely gave up on my lashes, eternally convinced they would never look good. But now I have this!! The wand is shaped really weird and looks like three balls put together but this stuff does the job. I can't say enough good things about this mascara. I only wish I bought 2 more as backups because I have no idea where to get this in Toronto 2. Isehan Kiss Me Heroine Make Long and Curl Mascara There are a few this brand makes: I chose the one with the pink packaging. The purple packaging one is volume and curl, which for some reason isn't talked about a lot. This mascara is also an Asian favourite and raved about over there so I had to pick it up. It was under $20 CAD and is amazing! Holds my curl all day and adds a lot of length. Not as much volume as the Fairy Drops one but it still makes my lashes look great. Definitely worth the buy. You can get it at some places in a combo with their equally famous liquid eyeliner. 3. Majolica Majorca Lash King This one is like a drugstore mascara, I picked it up when it on sale at Watson's (an Asian drugstore) in Thailand for around $15 CAD. This is also a waterproof formula (they all are) and works pretty well. However, it does smudge after a few hours whereas the other mascaras do not. It holds a curl and makes your lashes look pretty good still, but has more clumping. Not my favourite one out of these 4, and to be honest with my other discoveries I could have done without it. 4. Lancome Virtuose Divine Lasting Cuves & Length This is the only one out of the 4 that isn't waterproof. I couldn't find it at Sephora or Shoppers so I got it at the airport duty free for about $30 CAD. This is very comparable to my Shu Uemura petal lash in terms of curling and how natural it looks. It did nothing for volumizing my lashes, and is only good for a natural day. Despite it not being waterproof, it doesn't smudge much at all and lasts throughout the day. But again, with the first 2 being so great, I could have done without this, too. I hope these reviews helped you guys pick an Asian mascara! Please comment if you have any others I didn't try out and what you think. Let's end the fight for Asian lashes!!
Mine is the marc jacobs undercover coconut primer, bare minerals mineral foundation and tinted moisturizer, tata harper cream blush, becca champagne pop, benefit hoola bronzer, abh dipbrow and clear brow gel, shiseido eyelash curler, covergirl supersizer and full lash bloom waterproof mascaras, bite beauty lipsticks
Hello everyone! I am in need of an awesome eye primer. What I am looking for is something that will not only cover redness, veins, darkness but won't crease. I have major issues with eyeshadow creasing. Have used UD primer potion but was not impressed, shadows still creased and it did not even out the skin tone enough to keep shadows true to color. What are everyone's favorites?
**UPDATE**: I made a new thread on Asian brand mascaras I tried! They're actually so awesome and I highly recommend them if Western brands just don't do the job. It's here: http://community.sephora.com/t5/Makeup/Asian-mascaras-tested-TIPS-FOR-STRAIGHT-ASIAN-LASHES-PART-2/t... Loving the responses also! I've learned so much since posting this Hey y'all!! I have stick straight Asian lashes that get weighed down by almost everything. I've tried a ton (almost all) of the rumoured mascaras and curlers on the market, and I'd like to share what I've found, and also learn some new things! Keep in mind that everyone is different and what worked for me might not work for others, and vice versa. Key tips: waterproof>all, small>large wand, and really work hard to pump your curler and make a strong curl beforehand. Mascara What works: Benefit they're real! is great; holds a curl, volumizes and separates. Shu Uemura petal lash mascara! The Shu one holds a curl, rarely smudges, and looks beautiful. This is my current favourite. Shiseido nourishing base is a fantastic primer that holds a curl all day underneath almost any mascara. UD canonball mascara also holds a curl but it doesn't do much else... there isn't a lot of volumizing and it flakes onto my cheeks a bit. Too faced better than sex mascara waterproof is perfect in every way: curling, volumizing, clump-free, but it smudges onto my undereyes after just a couple of hours. If it didn't do that then my hunt would be over As for drugstore mascaras, I actually really like the Maybelline falsies waterproof and L'Oreal mascaras (million lashes, and the one in the big gold geometric tube) What doesn't work: YSL faux cils babydoll waterproof, Benefit roller lash (I KNOW... but this did absolutely nothing for my lashes and kept them straight. I tried using it every way possible before tossing it), Tarte purple tube (lights cameras lashes), Lancome hypnose, Lancome cils booster XL primer, toofaced better than sex, buxom lash mascara, blinc mascara (held my curl but did nothing else), and Clinique high impact. As for drugstore mascaras, the Maybelline lash sensational weighs my lashes down still and makes them straight (the pink and the black tubes both). U PDATE: I also tried the new weird small wand purple one by Maybelline (the push up? i think?) and that also weighed down my lashes just the same. Curlers I have the weirdest eyes on Earth and I've tried: Shu Uemura, Shiseido, Lancome, Tarte, Sephora XL, Tweezerman, Surratt and Revlon. The Shiseido one I really like but the Tweezerman Promaster curler is my new favourite. If you also have trouble finding a lash curler that fits your eye shape, try that one out. The Shu Uemura one is the curviest so it didn't work well for me. The Surratt beauty one is very heavy and well-made and has the flattest curve out of all of these curlers. If you need a flatter curler, try that one out. I returned it though because it somehow tore out some of my lashes on the first usage What I Haven't Tried I have just a few more mascaras to try before I give up on the perfect one. The Diorshow overcurl waterproof, Lancome definicils waterproof, Shu Uemura natural lash, and Tarte lifted. After my current tubes are out, I'll give these a try and hope for the best. Update: people have also said in the comments to try the following: Lancome hypnose star, burberry cat lashes, givenchy noir couture 4 in 1, and others you can see below. Since I'm not made of money, I won't get to all of these anytime soon LOL Feel free to reply with your experiences and make recommendations. I hope I helped edit: this post gained more attention than I thought I would so I thought I'd add some more information. Application Tips: We've all heard of the technique where you wiggle the wand into your roots and go up, but to hold a curl it also helps to rotate the brush as you apply the formula. Also, halfway through your swipe you can try holding the wand in the middle of your lashes up to hold that curling position, then after a couple of seconds finish swiping up. This helps a lot of the time even with a good, dry formula. Removing Mascara; The biggest drawback to waterproof mascara is that it's a pain to remove. Overtime, your lashes could also fall out or not grow properly. The key is using a cleansing oil or balm in a 2 step cleansing system. I love the Shu Uemura one, and the Clinique cleansing balm. Asian brands also sell cult favourites like the Clean it Zero by Banila & Co. You have to really take your time to gently massage the oil/balm all over your face and especially onto your eyes to melt everything away. After a good couple of minutes of working the product onto my lashes, I don't need any other remover to help me out. I know this because I've tried... I used a Q tip with the Lancome makeup remover to go over my lashline and nothing came off after the 2 step cleansing system. I used to soak a cotton pad with makeup remover and really work it into my eyes but I lost too many lashes from that. Keep in mind that tubing mascaras (they form a tube around your eyelashes to be more lightweight) such as the blinc mascara don't come off with any kind of makeup remover. You use water and you rub lightly, and the 'tubes' come off into the sink.
I thought I would create a thread for HUDA BEAUTY , so we could have a place to discuss news, upcoming collections, and of course post swatches! I double checked to see if there was a thread for the brand already, and I didn't see one, so here we go!
