Hi ladies, I honestly canʻt decide what to get from the sale! A lot of cheaper items or some high end stuff? I love lip products (except lipgloss), skincare (except eye stuff), value sets, brushes, and palettes. I still donʻt have the clarisonic so Iʻm wondering if I should get it and which one? I have combo skin and it isnʻt very sensitive. Could you guys please suggest some products for me to get for the sale? Sorry I have so much questions! Iʻve been pretty busy with school so I havenʻt had time to focus on my shopping obsession. xo, Kelly
The Armani Eye & Brow Maestro Creams are supposed to be total game changers, which can be used as eyeshadows, brow color, and even hair color (hair color - seriously?). There are 9 shades (described as iridescent), they are (apparently) waterproof and they (apparently) last 20 hours. I have to say I'm intrigued. What do you all think?
I was thinking about this while I was applying a Chanel product this morning and thinking about how often it seems people dislike scented products, when the scent isn't the product's purpose (perfume/cologne, lip balms, namely). But the blush I was about to put on just smelled so lovely to me this morning. I feel like the fragrance/scent/smell/odor of products tend to get a bad rap. Anytime anyone mentions how something smells, it seems to be in relation to why they don't like it, or why they brought it back (foundations, hair products, lip products, etc...). What products have scents that you either love, come to adore, or remind you of something/someone?
I am interested in buying a bronzer, and I am debating between the Marc Jacobs Omega and Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder in Natural. I have light skin with neutral undertones, so I cannot use a color that is too orange or too red. I would love a bronzer that is easy to blend and looks matte/natural. Which bronzer is better? Thanks!

If you're interested in old Hollywood glam I would highly suggest checking out this brand. They have a small but beautiful collection of cosmetics including "Violet brightening powder" for your face and "Cake Mascara". I have never seen anything like the mascara before. It comes in a dry cake (obviously) which you then mix with water to get the right consistency. The really cool thing about this mascara is that you can spritz it with disinfectant to get rid of bacteria, fungus, and mold. Amazing! And because you wet it every time you use it never dries out prematurely. NOTE: Sorry this sounds a little bit like an ad, I swear they didn't pay me to say this, I'm just really excited about this brand. EDIT: I'll review the mascara and violet powder on this post when I get them.
I have the Dior Skin Forever Wear-Extending Invisible Retouch Powder, and I love it! The only thing that I am confused about is that the back of the puff it comes with is leather... I usually take this powder on the go for touchup, so I do use the puff constantly. But now it's getting nasty, and I have no clue whether I should clean it or what should I do. Could anyone please help me?
I first learned about this from Wayne Goss' FB page so I had to search for it. He said it will be available in Selfridges UK (GBP 180) on Nov 1. Does anyone have more info for US? So far I only found this pic from the Fashion North blog:
It is quite interesting to hear how we prioritize makeup usage. Some folks must do brows if nothing else. Others might be attached to foundation. Mascara is a favourite of many. I would love to hear what you think. If you could only use one makeup product, what would it be? If you could use 2? How about 3? Which products do you think add the most to your look? Don't include skincare ....just makeup. Mine are: Only 1 - lipstick Only 2 - lipstick, foundation or bb Only 3 - lipstick, foundation or bb, blush Only 4 - lipstick, foundation or bb, blush, eyebrow pencil Only 5 - lipstick, foundation or bb, blush, eyebrow pencil, concealer For me 3 products is the magic number - I get the most bang for the buck with the first 3. After that it is diminishing returns.... I do like lipsticks. They make everything better.
Hi Beauties, Okay, so we've all been there. We tell another makeup/skincare lover that you have some wacky, zany idea about some certain technique and-WHAM! They're blown away and don't think it works. But wait-it does! My tip is that when contouring, don't make a fishy face. Pull you hair back around your ear and take the end of a small brush. Move the end from your mid ear to your hairline-this is most likely where your cheekbone will be. If you don't feel it, move up. And once you have everything mapped out, take an eyeshadow brush and sculpt out a line. Then, blend it out with a big, fluffy brush and you have that AMAZING contour! So what's your makeup tips?
Hi People! I need help looking for a new berry/ cranberry lipstick for fall and winter. I'm fair skinned with light brown hair and blue eyes. I just don't want to look like a clown but I really want to push my style. HELP!
I'll be going as the notorious Harley Quinn I'll be wearing all black leather with a few strategically placed pieces of red, with the tips of my two ponytails sprayed red. Also either some kind of black mask, or black eye makeup. And a dark lip.
I posted a previous post about starting a traveling box with samples and deluxe samples and a few ladies were interested in doing one! This is the 1st traveling box I am apart of and of course the 1st that I am starting. So, we need to decide if we are going to do a medium or small flat rate box. RULES No used items. No open items DO NOT take more than you put in. Let's keep this fun and fair DO NOT take multiples of the same sample PLEASE try not to keep the box more than 3 days Make sure to send your address to the person listed above you Once you send the box off, post the tracking number in this thread ALL unused items allowed (well maybe not nail polishes if it will make the shipping costs go up) Post a pic of what you take out, what you put in and what is left in the box before you send it off We are going to have fun and try to keep this going as long as we can! If you are interested in being in the box, I have a few spots left so post a pic of what samples you have in this thread to be added. To start off, we are only going to have 10 people! 1. CuriousCannibal 2. MegEm 3.MLLECC 4. tessie84 5. Kittichick 6. NicoleFrat 7. NightKnight 8. Sweetxteeth 9. Nishcakes 10. Kariyava
Hello beautiful ladies and gents! I am in a crisis and need advice/help. About 9 months ago I changed by foundation from Bare Minerals to Cover FX. It was a huge jump for me to go from powder to liquid and I was very excited about the change. I learned a lot about make up and skin care from posts on here and by watching my favorite guru, Jaclyn Hill. This desperation comes after an embarrassing moment the other day when I hugged the President of our company after a huge deal and he moved away and all I could see was my foundation all over his shirt. It was such a cringe moment, I almost cried. My boyfriend won't even allow me to hug him either cause the same has happened to him. My current routine is moisturizing first with Perricone MD Photo Plasma with SPF 30, using Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer Broad Spectrum, then using a Beauty Blender to put on my foundation which is Cover FX Natural Finish Oil Free Foundation (my Color IQ is 2Y11). I use MAC Prolong wear concealer for the under eyes. I set my concealer with Laura Mercier Eye Brightening Powder and then set the rest of my face with Makeup Forever HD Powder (I use the compact). I find that after a few hours my makeup gets really shiny on my cheeks, nose and forehead. I begin taking paper towels to the face to blot the oil but it only helps so much. I do have oily skin, but around my mouth is a bit dry. I also have huge pores, but have come to terms that I may not be able to get rid/hide them. After a days work I look at my skin my cheeks looks like the foundation has create a layer of oil. It's pretty bad. So my fellow Beauties I come to you with an open wallet. I would like to know if you have any suggestions on controlling the oil (maybe I need a better foundation) and to stop the make up transfer. xoxo
Recently I was purging my collection when I came across these two items. They're the ones that have made it through all of my purges no matter how ruthless. Why? Because they have sentimental value. The Lancôme Color Design Artist Palette (2007-2008) was the first "high end" palette I ever bought and playing with it is really what got me into high end makeup. I also had a ridiculous amount of fun while wearing this palette and discovered both the purple and the navy smokey eye as my signature night time "go-to" look. The L'Oréal Laetitia Casta "look" combo (2007) is what really got me into thinking about "looks" and how everything goes together. What sentimental makeup items are you guys hanging on to?
I just thought that people would want to know that, as of 6:30 pm EST today, Nordstrom's has the Guerlain Holiday 2014 Meteorites in stock. I saw on BT that Sephora plans to have it in stock within the next few weeks, but for those who don't want to wait... P.S. They seem to have the rest of the holiday collection in stock, too.
I recently bought the Sephora Favorites Glitz & Glam Party Essentials Sampler which came with a matte red Smashbox Be Legendary lipstick. I instantly loved the colour and texture and was keen to wear it out for brunch (I've been on a daytime matte red lipstick kick, don't judge). I applied some liberally, took the lipstick I was planning on wearing out of my handbag, replaced it with my new pretty, and bounced out of the house. Roughly 30 minutes later, my usually very diplomatic boyfriend leaned over to me and said "when we get home, we're burning that lipstick in a fire, it shouldn't be allowed to exist". I was very startled and confused until he pointed out that it had transferred to my water glass, my tea cup, my cutlery, the food I had taken a bite out of..... Basically, it was like my lipstick had become a roadmap for everywhere my lips had been. I was horrified. He then started to look like he wanted to say something, but couldn't quite spit it out. Eventually he muster up the courage and whispered in a much lower voice " it also splattered all over your face". I nearly died. I tried everything to get the stain off my face and eventually had to give up and cover it with powder foundation until I got home. The worst. Which products have you tried that should be burnt in a fire? Real disasters only
Hey all, I got color matched a few weeks back as a 2Y03. I bought the MUFE HD foundation and the NARS TM in N117 and Finland per the IQ, but both are WAY too light! They make me look completely washed out and like I have a mask on. Anyone else tried and failed with Color IQ?
So normally getting a palette with a misspelled label isn't a huge deal. I mean, it does tweak my Virgo need for order, and it does irk when it's from a high-end brand. This misprint of "Deep Night", though, skates a little too close to the racial slur line for comfort. Obviously it's not intentional, but I wonder how many of these slipped through quality control. I'm debating whether to exchange it, or just try adding the letters in myself with liquid paper or something.
What are everyone's thoughts on these? Based on YT (even some of my non-biased "gurus") rave about these. I searched BT for any threads but didn't see any. I've gotten some good recs from here so I'd love to see if any of you all have used these! The prices are fair, and so is the shipping.
After a day of shopping I stopped at Target to pick up a few things and ended up at the beauty aisle. I was approached by a Target SA and she presented herself as a beauty advisor for Target. I didn't know they had beauty consultants at Target! She showed me some new brands of skincare and makeup. And best of all she had a lil tool like Sephora's IQ for foundation match up and she match me up to my foundation shade. She gave me a alot of samples of skincare and a few foundation shades. I was definitly impressed with Target.
Soooo Yeah this is happening. I like the eyeshadows and I plan on picking up more lippies and liners than I need. I should not be this excited about lipstick. They are only $5 for each lippie and $5 for the matching liner. The liner and lippies have the same name so you can match them easier if you choose to buy them both. I'm not going to get anything for Christmas...I've been nothing but bad (in a very good makeup way).
