I thought it would be fun to post our drugstore finds that are as good or better than the high-end stuff. Most of my makeup is high-end and NARS is one of my favorite brands. But there are two products that I think beat their high-end competition: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream. I cannot love this product more! Beautiful colors and so pigmented. And for $6, it's a steal. Maybelline Dream Finish BB Cream. A little goes a long way with this product. I also have the Smashbox BB cream, and the Maybelline goes on better and doesn't look cakey and doesn't dry out my skin. Love it! And it's only $8.
Okay ladies and gents I'm going to VEGAS 8/27 first time ever!!! I have a list of places I want to go...makeup wise. Inglot, sephora, CCO (is the CCO worth a special trip?). Any places (makeup) I should hit, ones I should avoid? I DO NOT (just not worth it for me) do VERY high end brands. Marc Jacobs is the most expensive brand I have. I have been saving my coins for a while and now it's time to just buy buy buy. I'm NW45/MUFE 178 so I usually only buy from companies that make products for the deeper tones. It's principle for me. Post your ideas (please please please), previous adventures, and best kept secrets! I'll post what I get when I return home and decompress. May the makeup Goddesses and Gods be forever in your favor. May your holy grail products never be discontinued or in short supply. May your favorite product drop on the floor and never break. May your makeup storage be all that you dream and cleaned and organized by sweet smelling fairies. Be makeup blessed! *can you tell I'm super excited*
Here's the first Sneak Peek for the September Ipsy Bag: I actually unsubscribed last month which is a little surprising because I was a fan of the products I received in August but with holiday sets/collections coming soon I've decided that I would rather put my money there. For all of those still subscribed enjoy!
Hi ladies! In about a week and a half, I will be going on a trip to New Zealand for two weeks. I'm super excited Obviously I cannot carry all my skincare and liquid foundation etc. in their original containers, so I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for travel-size bottles and containers? The Sephora brand sets don't have such great reviews unfortunately
Hi. I am in search of a bb/cc cream with more beige/yellow color. I have tried a few, but haven't found one that matches my skin perfectly. I've tried Clinique CC, but it was too pink for me. I've also tried Dr. Jart Premium, Black, and Water Fuse and all of them had pink/gray finish. Dr. Jart's Radiance was more yellow than any others I've tried, but it was a bit too pale for my skin. Asian light skin with black hair and brown eyes. Bare Minerals powder foundation color LIGHT works well on my skin during the winter, and mix of LIGHT and GOLDEN MEDIUM work best during the summer. I'm hoping to find something that matches my skin color + a little bit of coverage. I hope to only wear sunscreen + bb so finding a right bb is so important to me. Thank you in advance.
Have you guys seen these?! There are tons of shades and finishes to choose from, and you can build your own palette! I can't wait to try these; I wonder if Sephora will carry all of the shades? There are so many and I'd really like to go in and test a good chunk of them. http://www.sephora.com/artist-shadow-P387670?skuId =1622745
Hi beauties!!! I need your help finding a bronzer. Throughout the year, my skintone is light, and I wear UD's Naked Skin in 3.5 (or ED DW in Fresco, NW20, L'Oreal true match C3) for reference. In the summer, I get quite a bit tanner and all my foundations become too light for my skin. I try to mix these shades with darker ones I have, but they still end up being too light to match my body. My face is also lighter than my body because I exfoliate it. I don't want to buy a darker foundation, as I switch up what foundations I use daily, and I don't want to be limited to 1 foundation. I've been trying different bronzers to lightly use all over my face to warm up my complexion and darken my face a bit to match my body, but I haven't had any luck finding one that is dark enough/looks natural. I've tried: Too Faced Chocolate Soleil - doesn't seem to have any effect at making my face any darker? I have the regular and not the milk chocolate, but it just doesn't seem to be dark enough or something... NYC Sunny - way too orange Benefit Hoola - good to contour, not good for allover my face, as it makes me look muddy Nars Laguna - similar to my issue with chocolate soleil, it doesn't seem to do all that much to warm up my face, unless I'm contouring I've tried a few others from Wet n Wild and Physician's formula and haven't had anything that I've liked. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Had this foundation for about a year and the packaging finally broke on me and the cap ALWAYS is so loose and ALWAYS falls off. Especially, in travel. However, I LOVE this foundation and I've never had a truer color match. Anyone buy a bottle recently and have trouble with the cap?
Please tell me Sephora will have them soon. Charlotte is a red to die for, and Jeanne and Ingrid are also at the top of my list. Can't wait! Hoping Sephora also has the NARS fall collection soon. The new Satin Lip pencils are already in stock, (cranberry and rose brown, I forget the names), but Jardin Perdu where are you? Waiting on pins and needles!!!
Since fall is upon us and the collections are slowly being unveiled, I thought maybe we'd all share what we have currently in rotation while summer is still holding on, and maybe if you want, share things you know you will be transitioning in for fall. I will start -Armani maestro liquid foundation -illamasqua hydra veil -lancome efracernes concealer -naked 2 palette -burberry effortless mascara -Elizabeth arden ceramide cream blush in nectar -Givenchy le rouge 103 -Armani lip in heat Bringing out for fall: -kevyn aucoin sensual skin enhancer -clarins primer -kvd ladybird -new reds/darker lipsticks -less bright blushes
Hi dolls, Another palette from ABH?! I'M IN LOVE. The beautiful mayamia (on youtube and instagram) collaborated with them AGAIN to create this gorgeous palette. I'm so excited <3 P.S The Contour book will also be avail in January for anyone interested.
I love a guy who knows his skincare and makeup, and you guys certainly know your stuff! I'm really curious to know - what got you so interested? Were you encouraged by anyone or did you discover it all yourselves? Do people notice when you wear makeup? Do you get hassled about it? Do you get positive comments? I think it's great that you are here. I'd love to know how you got here, if you don't mind my asking. Girls are marketed to from practically infancy about beauty products - guys not so much! So, how did it all start for you guys?
I posted a previous post about starting a traveling box with samples and deluxe samples and a few ladies were interested in doing one! This is the 1st traveling box I am apart of and of course the 1st that I am starting. So, we need to decide if we are going to do a medium or small flat rate box. RULES No used items. No open items DO NOT take more than you put in. Let's keep this fun and fair DO NOT take multiples of the same sample PLEASE try not to keep the box more than 3 days Make sure to send your address to the person listed above you Once you send the box off, post the tracking number in this thread ALL unused items allowed (well maybe not nail polishes if it will make the shipping costs go up) Post a pic of what you take out, what you put in and what is left in the box before you send it off We are going to have fun and try to keep this going as long as we can! If you are interested in being in the box, I have a few spots left so post a pic of what samples you have in this thread to be added. To start off, we are only going to have 10 people! 1. CuriousCannibal 2. MegEm 3.MLLECC 4. tessie84 5. Kittichick 6. NicoleFrat 7. NightKnight 8. Sweetxteeth 9. Nishcakes 10. Kariyava
Hi BTers! I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations on an inexpensive fluffy crease/blending brush similar to the MAC 217. I see a ton of tutorials where people use this brush and it looks amazing, but I'm not sure I want to spend that much on a single brush right now. Does anyone know of any other good ones?? Thanks!!
I am starting to care more about how my makeup looks and trying to figure out that would look good together and on me. I have dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, light to medium olive/yellow completion. What type of colors would look best for eye, cheek and lip for me. I sort of am looking for a daytime look as well as a night time look.
I am moving in a few days, and because of the moving truck's schedule, my stuff will have to stay in the truck for about two weeks. I'm in the south where it's been well over 90 degrees every day. I know it will get very hot in the truck. I am already sending an overnight chilled box of my medications to the new place where someone will pick it up and keep it at room temperature. I'm also putting lipstick and creams in the chilled box because I know they can melt and/or separate. What about powdered stuff (eyeshadow, pressed powder, pressed blush), eyeliner, mascara, primers, etc? Will they go bad if they stay in a very hot truck for two weeks? Thank you!
Hello! I got color matched yesterday for MUFE Mat Velvet " No. 30 - Porcelain - for medium skin with beige undertones." All of the blushes I have that I purchased in the summer are way too dark/bright for me now. Today I am wearing Tarte "Peaceful" with a real light hand and it seems to be ok, but still not 100% natural looking. I would like a nice, natural peachy color as well as a lighter pink. Thank you for your help!!
I don't know if any of you ladies know about this but Sonia Kashuk just came out with a LE 15 piece brush set in celebration of their 15th anniversary. I just picked up the last one in my town today during my lunch break. I personally think this is a steal. It is $40 at Target. If you can find it, I suggest to get it right there and then because this set is sold out almost everywhere and each Target in the US and Canada each get 2 sets. Go on to Target's website and use the "find in a Target store" and click on "pick up in store" if it shows up to reserve it. Sonia Kashuk is trying to keep it in stock but it keeps selling out. This set will be available until October according to their customer service line. If anyone wants to know how they perform, let me know and I will do a small review here on BT.
