I am currently using bare minerals matte powder foundation in medium, along with tarte timeless smoothing primer and tarte bb tinted primer in light. I wanted to switch to the Tarte Amazonian clay full coverage powder foundation, but when I was color IQ'd at my local sephora the color she put on me was way too light. I went back yesterday and switched almost all the colors but can't decide between the light to medium shades as to which one I should use. I am also concerned about the amount of sparkle I saw in the tarte powder because I like a matte finish. Does anyone have any suggestions of a different powder foundation? I have oily, ance prone skin. I am not sure what my color IQ number was, but also a suggestion on the best match for the tarte powder would be appreciated also! Thanks in advance!
Hi everyone, I'm looking for a lipcolour, of any brand or formulation, that's similar to the Nars Rikugien in the birthday set, but a bluer/cooler pink. Any suggestions? Do you have any favourite cool/blue-pink or lavender lipcolours?
I have very dark under eye circles. Is there a product to help me brighten them, and are there any really good concealers to cover them up? I've used NARS radiant creamy concealer, and makeup forever's full cover concealer and they can't quite cover them up.
I know everyone love IMATS, but it seems like a huge crowd and I have some anxiety with very large groups...even when there is makeup LOL I want to go to TMS-NYC in May, but I'm not sure how to go about getting tickets. The site says you have to have credentials. I'm just a makeup lover. I can buy tickets, but I have no credentials. I could probably make up a "business card" but I'm no MUA, and it feels sleazy to lie. So is anyone been to this show? Anyone else going? I've seen YT videos and it seems a bit less crowded than IMATS and it has some of the vendors I would love see. Crown Brush MUFE &MUFE academy Kevyin A. Inglot Bdellium Graftobian ...to list a few.
I haven't seen anything on the Sephora website, but I've seen a few of these in some stores, so I just want everyone to see. I picked one up because I love the color red! Plus side, it feels exactly the same as the pink one! I haven't tried it yet but I will tomorrow *here's hoping it applies the same*
Bad idea... Doing a bright red lip before putting on my white dress. I now have a big red stain on the collar and can't figure How to Make it dissapear! I tried my Make up remover and my Tide-to-go stick but it is still there. any idea?
I have an apt at a counter tomorrow and am looking to pick up a few new things. I'm a Chanel girl at heart and wanted new recommendations. What are some of your must haves from the brand? * Nordstrom is having an event tomorrow. Spend $120( I believe) and receive a bag full of chanel goodies! Ladies call your Nordstrom counter
Last year, I bought some Mally stuff at Ulta. I'm not in love with any of it, nor do I really dislike any of it. It's just ok IMO. However, did anyone else watch her the other night on QVC or HSN? She was so obnoxious and it was quite a turn-off. Every other phrase out of her mouth was "cray cray"! I actually turned the channel. What do you guys think of her line of cosmetics?
I purchased NARS illuminating powder foundation. As I apply the foundation to my skin it starts visibly separating on my skin in within 30 minutes or so- makes my face to have visible powder marks/cracks all over. I use very good moisturizer abd do not understand why this happens. What can I do and what is your recommendation?
First things first, I have nothing against MAC and I do use their products (Powder & Concealer) However, whenever I go into a MAC store the employees have a "I KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT MAKEUP, YOU'RE A MINION WANNA BE AND YOU KNOW NOTHING" kinda vibe. Is it just me? ha ha I know it can't only be me! Please let me know what your In store MAC experiences have been like.
I, like most of you, are a beauty addict. I make at least one purchase at Sephora each week. It's kinda ridiculous, sometimes. In my browsing for a new foundation (currently wearing Dior Nude in 060, but it's looking more red on me lately), I found that I matched to a new Giorgio Armani foundation! Never before seen at Sephora or on Sephora.com. I am excited about this. Could this mean Tom Ford is to come in the future? I can finally try Armani's Eyes to Kill Mascara that MakeupByTiffanyD loves so much and work towards VIB Rouge again. Any one else excited about new high ends brands coming to Sephora?
I am between a 110 Ivoire and a 140 Ivoire in Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24H foundation. What shade would I be in Clinique Even Better Foundation? They look extremely light I just don't wanna end up having a geisha face! Thanks
For those of you who don't frequent the 'Found in the Wild New' thread, the lovely hackneyfl posted that Armani Beauty is available online ( http://www.sephora.com/giorgio-armani?node=1050000 ). None of the items are in stock yet, but I though that it warranted a separate post because OMG I'M SO EXITED!!!!!!
I know I've mentioned a couple times that I am going to be in Las Vegas next month for a few days. I have one day pretty much to myself - my husband flies home in the morning and I don't have any obligations until a work dinner that evening. I've set that day aside as my shopping day. I know that I want to hit up the MUFE Boutique in Sephora at the Venetian and probably also the Inglot and NARS stores at Caesar's Palace, but I am looking for suggestions of anywhere else on the strip that I should stop into that day. I have a few questions -- 1. For anyone that lives in or has visited Vegas, where should I do my beauty shopping? Any unique or interesting stores that I should know about? 2. Since I have a work dinner that evening, I was thinking about getting a makeover. I could get a free makeover at Sephora, but I was thinking about getting a makeover at the MUFE boutique instead. Anyone had a makeover at a MUFE boutique? From my research, it looks like you have to buy $120 in product for a full face makeover (this may be outdated info, I need to confirm). I know I am definitely buying at least two 3-pan eyeshadow palettes, so it certainly wouldn't be hard for me to get to $120. Worth it? Any opinions? Thanks!
I've been using more face powders lately (finishing powders, mattifying powders, light coverage powders, etc.), and I'm starting to realize that my Sonia Kashuk face brush may not be the best choice for my skin. As soft as it feels on my hand, it seems to be irritating my face regardless of what face powder I use. My skin feels itchy afterwards and gets red -- ugh. I've been looking at face brush reviews, but there just seems to be so many to choose from. Do I really have to buy a NARS Kabuki brush at $55 to get what I need, or are there other soft options?
Why is it that the best products get discontinued? I hate Laura Gellar's "replacement" for her amazing Medium Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20. There must be something that works as amazing as the so very missed tinted moisturizer.
New year So lets see what everyone is loving right now! 1. Best Packaging? 2. Best Color Payoff? 3. Most Versatile 4. Best For Travelling? 5. Biggest Regret? 6. Best Color Names? 7. Least Used 8. Most Used 9. Most Loved 10. Desert Island? 1. Best Packaging? I have to give this to the Laura Mercier holiday palette from this year! I am a sucker for zebra print, plus its sturdy with a large mirror so great for throwing in my makeup bag. 2. Best Color Payoff? My loran pro 2! I've had it for maybe 4 months and I have hit pan on 5 colors! Love it. The color payoff is amazing! 3. Most Versatile? In terms of selection, the lorac mega pro! There's so many things you can do with it. 4. Best For Traveling? Stilla in the light. It's small and has amazing shades. or naked basics one and two. I usually have both on me if I bring them. 5. Biggest Regret? Naked one. Not because I don't like it, it was my first eye palette, but because I don't reach for warm tone shadows very often so its not used often, that is all I regret. 6. Best Color Names? Naked 2. Something about the names I just love 7. Least Used? Naked one 8. Most Used? Naked 2! pretty sure I only have like 4 shades left in it.. 9. Most Loved? Naked 3! It was a valentines day gift from my husband. I love the shades and of course it means a lot to me because it's from him 10. Desert Island? Stilla in the light! I've been using it like crazy lately. I don't think I will ever be able to part with it!
I have been looking for a good laydown eye shadow brush for a while. I recently purchased Bobbi Brown eye sweep brus h, but I'm not completely satisfied.. so I'm thinking of doing a purchase from Hakuhodo. So please help me decide. I was looking at K006, S121, and B127 I'm also ordering BJ004G.. (which is MAC 239 dupe). I have Wayne Goss #6 which is similar to J5523 so I need something that will cover a wide area with base color lightly. Any opinion will be more than greatly appreciated Thank you so much in advance! May I also get opinion on J4003 and J110 for contour/bronzer brush? I'm also thinking about Wayne Goss 12 brush.. I've had MAC 168 before, but I hated how it splayed and lose shape to make my bronzers look really muddy..
Hey guys! I'm making the decision to purchase my first foundation and any help/tips/recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I've only ever used BB creams (Clinique Age Defense BB cream + Boscia's) but I've found that they don't provide enough coverage for my skin. I have oily & sensitive skin, as well as breakouts & blotchy skin on my cheeks. I would love a foundation that wouldn't look cakey on me and provide good coverage. I would appreciate any suggestions, thank you
To all of you ladies who wanted Heat Wave, missed it and don't want to pay an arm and a leg for it, it will be rereleasing in Estee Lauder's Summer 2015 collection!!! I'll update this thread with the release date of the collection as soon as it is available. EDIT: Heat Wave will be releasing in March with new circular packaging and the amount of actual product has been reduced. I personally dislike that they reduced the size and changed the packaging. The old packaging is very luxurious and classic Estée Lauder. The new packaging, frankly, looks cheap
As a college student who's both on a budget, and looking to begin her collection, I need as much help as I can get! Does anyone know if there are any student discounts here on Sephora? And if not, are there any good 'basic collection' products that I could get my hands on to try that won't completely deplete my bank account?
I recently bought the Real Techniques Expert Face brush and I've been using it with the Estee Lauder Double Wear. I find it doesn't apply that smoothly and looks a bit cakey but I'm not sure if it's just the way I'm applying or the brush or the foundation itself… also the brush sheds like crazy ugh. I'm thinking of investing in a Beauty Blender - which do you prefer? Brushes or sponges?
I'm 47 years of age with normal skin in the cheek area, oily skin in the T-zone and slightly dry between the outside of the nose and lips area. My skin care and anti aging routine is the Paula Choice line. I've been wearing Estee Lauder Double Wear, color Ecur for several years along with powder for blotting. The problems I'm tired of are: 1) Constantly blotting my T-zone, 2) Looking cakey and made up, 3) Make up rubs right off, 4) Looks fresh for about 3 hours before I have to powder 5) Make up sinks into expression lines around mouth, fine lines under lip and in-between forehead. I know with age and skin changes I need to make a change! I would really like to find a foundation that has a matte powder finish, medium to full coverage. A foundation that is good for outdoor wear and active busy people who like to apply once and keep looking fresh all day. Can anyone Please give me some advice?
Hello.Ive been looking into trying a new full coverage concealer that is not drying.Im using the nars radiant creamy concealer I just feel like i run out of the product so fast.I have very dark circles (i also use a peach corrector) I have dry under eyes with fine lines, I do use cliniques all about eyes rich moisturizer.I was wondering if anyone has tried MUFE's lift concealer?Any other suggestions will help as well. I'm having a hard time finding the perfect match for my skin with the Kat Von d foundation. In Mac I am NC15, in make up for ever hd I am 117. I have light skin with yellow undertones, the color I currently have in kvd is light 45, I picked it because the description is light with yellow under tones which seems perfect for me. I also was recommended this color from the color iq. I been wearing it for a week now and sometimes i like it but then other times I feel like something is off about it like it not 100% right. I feel like maybe this color is too dark, but none of the lighter shades are for yellow under tones, 42,44, 48 are only pink and beige but I'm not sure how a beige undertone would blend into my skin. Please help !
