Just wanted to spread the good news that Illamasqua is having a 50-70% off sale over on their site right now. Prime opportunity for us USA residents to get some deals on products we can't have in store anymore. I plan on taking advantage and getting my precious havoc eyeliner in bulk on sale for $13. What will you buy?
I am absolutely obsessed with getting the entire collection, it all looks so perfect for the usual makeup style I go with, plus I'm a shameless fan of the series. I even went in to a Sephora nearby [10 miles away!] on Christmas Eve to see if they possibly had any out. They said they had it in stock but they couldn't sell any yet because it wasn't released, which I know is today. So I've been waiting for the online order version to go from only VIB ROUGE to open to all, and it hasn't. How long does it usually take for things to be released online, if they are at all?
So I've been waiting for a few of the MUFE pro shadows that are OOS, set up email notification for the ones I want so I know asap if they are back, but seriously it's been a few months and rather than the few I'm after turning up again it seems like more and more of the shadows are joining the ranks of the OOS! It's as though the makeup deities are against letting me have what I want! Do I just keep waiting? Would whining to someone employed by Sephora help? Logically it seems like the better course of action is to find another brand of shadows to try out - UD singles look like they might be a promising option...maybe...As long as I don't have to get one of the naked palettes. I know, I know, everyone and their mother's cousin's sister's half-niece loves at least one of the three naked palettes - but I don't. The naked palettes and the matte naked basics feature a ton of shades that I realistically know I'd never use, so why spend all that money just for the few shades I'd want? (whispers-like-they-do-on-stage-or-when-drunk-and- the-music-suddenly-stops: grey is actually a neutral too, make up manufacturer people, just sayin'...) I tend to be drawn to brands that provide me the ability to choose my own color options so I don't feel like I'm trying to pick the least awful or half-decent option from a group of palettes that are someone else's idea of colors that work together. So, anyone have any advice? Opinions on the UD singles? Would rather I take my novel-length postings elsewhere? (You could just tell me in a PM if the last one is the case, you know...)
Merry Christmas everyone, A few days ago I purchased this foundation. I think it's pretty decent, the only issue I have is the application to my face. When I apply this foundation I take my time meticulously and do it in sections as to try and get an even layer/look. But when I leave the house and look in a mirror somewhere else, this foundation is clumped in some areas, looks almost scaly in some areas (around eyes and nose, YIKES!) some parts of my face look like there's no foundation at all. It's happened with the past 3 foundations I've tried and I returned them all thinking the foundation didn't apply well but I'm starting to think it's actually my brush... My question to you is: Do you use this foundation? What brush do you find gives you the best even application? The brush I'm using is a realTechniques expert face brush. I've tried moisturizing (with 2 different kinds even) before applying makeup as well as not moisturizing at all and got the same effect. I clean my brush very often so it's not because my brush is dirty either. Thanks for your input!
I didn't know exactly where to post this but here goes. For any of you interested in buying Naked 3 or already own it like I do.. I bought the Naked 3 as soon as it came out, I remember having to wait two weeks for it because it got delayed during bad weather some place. I received it, and that excitement wore off real quick. I swatched it and was happy with the colors.. but once it was on my eyes, I wasn't blown away. So, there's one makeup product that I got caught up in the hype with and it ended up being a boring ol' thing. It's easily one of the very few palettes that doesn't get any love. I think in total I've used it four times. The last time I had used it, I noticed 3 of the shadows popped out. It has never been dropped, ever.. yet here's these shadows popping out. Then another. WELL. They were so easy to depot, I just did so right now and put them in a Z palette provided by the wonderful DiVWA. I took all of them out because quite frankly, they were all pretty lose. Why do i care so much about an item I don't actually use? Because, I paid money for it, and for the amount it's worth, I shouldn't have problems with it coming off its palette. It doesn't get hit by direct sunlight so it's not like that's what caused the sticky glue to wear off. I don't recommend this palette to anyone, the colors i'm sure you can find dupes of, but if you want something that stays put, the packaging isn't going to protect your shadows if it DOES fall. I just wish it weren't too late for me to return this item, but it is, unfortunately.
I have been crushing on Stila ever since I fell in love with the liquid lipstick and heard some many great recommendations for the eyeshadow. I just discovered this set that's only available online and I think I MUST HAVE IT!! http://www.sephora.com/come-up-roses-makeup-set-P3 87038?icid2=Stila_WhatsNew_Carousel_P387038_link
Hi! I have some blue dark circles under my eyes wich I can conceal more less with my nars creamy concealer in vanilla shade, but what bothers me much are my puffy eyes. Does anyone here conceals puffy eyes? With what products and wich brushes do you use? thanks!
I need to get Christmas present for my friends. During Black Friday, I had a chance to grab some such as Nest mini rollerball, MUFE shine duo, and a bite Lip trio. I went to sephora store today I saw they have the benefit Bob 3 scps of sexy. I bought it anyway. When I got home I wondered which one would worth it and they would love it
I really need a brush for a liquid foundation and the lady at sephora recommended the sephora collection airbrush #56. however, it's so expensive! i've seen a lot of beauty vloggers rave about the real techniques brushes, but are they really that good? they're just so cheap that it seems to good to be true. if not, which brands/brushes are your favourites? http://realtechniques.com/shop-collection/expert-f ace-brush - i've also had my eye on this brush for liquid foundation.

Hey my lovelies, Just wanted to give a heads up about the Stila "In the Moment Palette." I bought this palette several months ago, and it is so gorgeous. Pigmented and really, really pretty. It's one of my favorites that I can I use all year long. It's the palette I'm using this week. And the colors work all year long! http://www.sephora.com/in-the-moment-eye-shadow-pa lette-P300604?skuId=1381235
This morning I checked the sale section and to my surprise there was a nice Bite set with 3 lipsticks. So I went to checkout and guess what... ITEM DOES NOT SHIP TO CANADA... Bite is a Canadian Company. So I called the rouge line since I thought it was an IT mistake... and I was told... Oh no this is a holiday set restriction. WHAT????? So apparently this holiday set is only available to the US. Like come on!!!! So again this proves that Sephora HATES Canadians... we can't even buy products that are made in OUR OWN Country!!!! This is the stupidest excuse I have EVER heard!
I was about to purchase Immaculate Liquid Powder by Hourglass, but decided to try to find something less spendy. I saw that the two recommended foundations for oily/combination acne-prone skin are this Hourlgass and the Clinique Acne Solutions. It's too close to Christmas for me to want to go anywhere near a brick-and-mortar store and I love free samples, so I've decided to purchase online. However, Clinique's shade selection names are VERY far from helpful compared to Hourglass's offerings. No undertone descriptions, very vague shade descriptions. My skin is probably somewhere between fair and medium with yellow undertones. I'm basically a WASP with some Filipina thrown in...I tan very well but I will burn if I'm out long enough, red hair looks great on me, and I gravitate towards silver colored jewelry. I figured that Nude would work for the Hourglass foundation. I once purchased Kat Von D's Lock It Foundation in L46 and it was way too pink, so I'm thinking that warm/pink undertones aren't for me. And I have Almay Clear Complexion in Ivory 100, and that seems too light on me. So...Does anyone have any experience with the actual undertones and shades that Clinique offers for Acne Solutions? Especially helpful if you have medium/light skin with yellow undertones. Sorry for the wordy response...first post here, and although I know things are returnable, it would be great to get it right on the first try. Thanks!
So I just checked Ebay and there are resellers selling these for $500-$600. One seller listed it at $799.95! Would you buy it? I personally wouldn't, the vault was supposed to be a good deal and at $799.95, you're just paying for the case that comes with it since all the other products aren't even limited edition! I am just shocked to see that people have actually bought these. Would love to hear your thoughts!
I'm looking to learn more about applying makeup. (namely eye shadow) But anyone can make a youtube video. So who makes the best ones? Especially videos that are good for those who know NOTHING to start with. Thanks so much!!!
Please help me select a super special Christmas gift for my son's 17 year old girlfriend. I posted this in the wrong category by mistake so decided to repost in case it was overlooked. I'd like to buy this girl the most highly coveted / Holy Grail item for girls in this age bracket. I was thinking of holiday collections that I like, (Tarte or Too Faced for example ) but considered that my taste may be far from what young girls prefer. I don't know her well, my son didn't have much luck prying info from her, so I don't know what her preferences are aside from that she wears eyeliner, mascara & occasionally neutral or light coloured lip gloss. Also, I don't know if this helps or not, but she's into horses. Thank you so much for any ideas or advice!
