The Bobbi Brown thread.  Bobbi Brown was the first brand that got me excited about makeup.  So I'll always have a soft spot for BB.  And now Sephora has the amazing 25 year year palette. Note, the holiday lip shade is sold out on Nordstrom.  I'm going to be watching for it on Sephora's site.

Spoiler (Highlight to read) Guidelines: Trade items that are equal in value and brand quality or better. For example, Dior for Guerlain would be a good trade, as would Too Faced for Tarte. Do not trade Dior for Tarte. Do not take more than you put in. Please ensure your trade is adding value to the box. Trade full sized items for full sized items. Do not take all of one category from the box. For example, do not take all the palettes or masks. If you’re not sure if an item is appropriate, post the item and ask the group. Allowed in the box:  Mid to high end products (think brands sold at Sephora, The Bay, Nordstrom, etc). Anything that is sealed (as long as it fits with the other guidelines) Skin care items in tubes & bottles. Jars only allowed if it's sealed or unopened. Keep non-beauty related items to a minimum (please do not overload the box with makeup bags, cases, etc). Packaging & Shipping All participants must provide a tracking number for their shipment, posted to the thread upon receipt. You will ship priority shipping not ground! Package things carefully (bubble wrap or tissue paper if possible) and put things in labeled Ziploc bags. Try to leave the TSB in better condition than you found it Items that are more fragile (like perfume bottles) should be bubble wrapped individually Shipping should be within 3 days of receiving the box!! In other words, the item hasn't been used more than 3 times. Deluxe samples: calculate based off largest size available of said product. For example, if a deluxe sample is 0.5oz, and the full size is 2 oz and worth $60, then the deluxe sample is worth $15.  These must be new, untested, unswatched. Do not swatch items in the TSB. I saw many items that were swatched in the last box that didn't start out "swatched" or "used". 2. If an item is swatched, put "swatched" with the stickies notes I included in the box. If the items has been used (UP TO 3 TIMES ONLY), then put used and then the number of times. 3. If the box gets lost while you are sending it to the next person (for whatever reason), you will either pay a $50 deposit (to the organizer of the box)  to replace the items or you will have to put enough samples/deluxe items to make up for the box. If you are not ok with this rule, then please refrain from joining the box. 5. DO NOT INCLUDE ANY LOW END MAKE UP/ SKIN CARE (No Sephora or Ulta brand deluxe or sample!) This is a high/mid end box unless it is an Asian or Indie brand that someone wants. 4. Ship the box within 3 days to the next person. If you can't, post a message here on the board right away. 5. Post pics of your trade and wait until at least half of the group has agreed on your trade. 6. The box is based on trust so don't steal from it. It is meant to be a fun experience for everyone. 7. **So, I know that there's a similar thread out there for this for someone's trip to Japan, but since it's 2 years old now, I thought it would be okay to create a new one with updated information.**   So, I am fortunate enough to be able to take a trip to Tokyo in a few weeks, and, as a lover of beauty and a person intrigued by Asian skincare, I was wanting to create a short list of beauty items or brands that I should be on the look out for while I'm there. Any suggestions? My skin is pretty sensitive, so I'm leaning more towards makeup (as my skin tolerates that better than skincare). However, I am open to any sensitive skincare as well.   Thanks!

Smokey eye gives that sexy, flirty look that calls for attention, hence, it is dearly loved by every lady. Smokey eye could be as easy as it is to say “jack” if the right products, tools and know how are on the ground. That is why we will share some knock em dead tips to achieve the beautiful smokey eye you always want. 1. Start your makeup with your eyes: To save time and frustration that you may experience when applying your eye makeup after the face makeup is done, you should consider doing your eye first. So the first step and tip are to give your eyes your absolute concentration first, after which you will go to the face.     2. Get a primer: You may have noticed that we always suggest using a primer before applying any eyeshadow, this same rule is more particularly applicable to a smokey eye makeup. The smokey eye needs a lot of blending, and the best bet is the primer’s advantage of smoothness and an even base. You will also avoid creasing and fading with the use of a primer.   3. Good color selection: Make sure that you get a nice color collection in the same color family. A smokey eye doesn’t always have to be black. It could be teal or silver, it all depend on your preference. Since the idea of the smokey eye is a color gradient, it becomes necessary to have color varieties and shades to work out the gradient. Take, for instance; a black smokey will require a dark black, the light shade, some gray shades, and silver or white shadow. 4. Keep your eyeliner close enough: Eyeliners are critical for a smokey eye. Pencil liner type is best for this. With the liner, the top lashline, bottom lashline and waterline will be lines. The lines will also blend into the shadow so having a perfect line is not necessary. 5. Quality makeup brushes: You will find that you are investing into some quality brush quite rewarding here. For a perfect smokey eye, you will need a flat shader brush for application of eye shadow to your lid. You will also need a mid-size brush for the crease, and a pencil brush is also required for tear ducts and the lashline. Finally, you will need a fluffy one for application of highlight and for blending. For best result, buy quality brands. 6. Blend them smooth: With the fluffy brush, blend out any harshline that may still be standing out. For the crease, circular motions are best at smoking it out. 7. Browbone job: You will need a shadow that is a little lighter than your tone for your Browbone. Again, with the fluffy brush, apply the shadow on your Browbone. 8. Highlight color: Just a dot of this at the middle of Browbone will be blended out to the end of the brow, the upper part of tear duct and some under the tear duct. Because the smokey eye makeup is a heavy one, the highlight will brighten the eye. 9. Load up on lashes: use mascara on top lashes and a little waterproof mascara for bottom lashes. Flare and strip lashes alike, they are all about making the smokey eye more traumatic. 10. Do justice to the face: For a smokey eye look, a natural lip color, some bronzer on a medium coverage foundation works perfectly.

Hi everyone!    (Loyal VIB Rouge member from Santa Monica; first time posting here, so I'm a little nervous! )   Has anybody else really liked the First Aid beauty Gentle Cleansing Wipes but discovered that they've been yanked? I went into my local Sephora and the associates there (yay to Carla and Cary! hehe..) were also equally puzzled because they said that it was a popular item and they're not sure why their store no longer stocked it.   And then I went on the Sephora website and realized that they no longer stock it either.    Has anybody else liked their wipes and/or also noticed this in their own Sephora stores?

A place to discuss new, indie and not so talked about brands. There's a few brands I'd like to know more about but didn't want to start a thread for each so decided to start a thread for all those brands that we don't often hear about.

I already have the Filmstar bronze & glow palette but looking into some of her other products.   Does anyone have any experiences they would like to share esp with her Light Wonder Foundation, her blush and the Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder? I'm interested in getting these three things but still on the fence about taking the plunge!    Please let me know, many BTers opinions have helped me out on products before Thanks in advance!

Hello Beautiful Friends,   Spring and summer vacations are upon us and I want to know what are some of you favorite brands you bring with you? Are there brands you buy when you go overseas to stock up on or do you try new products at local stores?    Any beauty or skincare products I should be on the lookout for while in Portugal or France?    Enjoy your beautiful travels and adventure.

This thread is the place to post sneak peeks of new products and special collections and to discuss all things Marc Jacobs Beauty!   If you are an existing fan or have questions about a particular product or want to explore the brand for the first time, feel free to join the discussion. And of course feel free to post about anything else related to MJ beauty should you be so inclined! I'm curious to know everyone's experience with the brand.     Spoiler (Highlight to read) How I began the discussion back in December 2015: To start off, I recently purchased the LE Style Eye Con No. 20 Holiday Palette during the VIB sale, but I have yet to use it or even swatch the colors on myself. It is currently still in "sacred relic" mode in my mind, but I'm also intimidated as it is my first ever large palette purchase. I'm not an eyeshadow expert by any means, in knowledge nor in application. I would like to begin this discussion by inviting those of you who have this palette to post eye looks that you have created with it. I need some ideas!   How I began the discussion back in December 2015:To start off, I recently purchased the LE Style Eye Con No.

Since the brand is coming to Sephora. A couple weeks ago I noticed that it was out of stock online and selected the option to be notified when it's restocked but now I don't even see it being shown in the Smashbox primer photos or articles (Smashbox Primer Finder) on here.   I'm hoping that's not the case! Guess I might just have to just get it from Ulta or straight from Smashbox now, it was my usual purchase on here and the only primer that worked for my combination skin.

Hey Beauties- We have ALOT of threads around here for Tom Ford products. I figured I'd start one thread where we can update each other on items as they come out or we see them available.    For all my UK'ers, or people willing to pay for shipping from the UK, Harrods has Softcore and Nude Dip from the Fall collection available right now. Happy Shopping!

I have seen lots of new threads pop up devoted to specific brands and thought I would get some other opinions and ideas about the best of becca.     I just in the last year have really fallen in love with this brand. We newest favs are backlight priming filter and blush in flowerchild. I feel like shimmering skin perfector is a must have for every makeup lover. I love using the backlight targeted colour corrector on my dark under eye circles.   I have though about trying foundation anyone have any suggestions?what are your favorites?

In need of inspiration for eye looks! I recently purchased the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette and i'm not the best at color combos, so any pictures or suggestions as to which colors to use and where on my eyes? btw i have blue/green/hazel eyes and blonde hair with fair skin(: Thanks!
Hey all, This May I'm graduating from college and I never really wore too much makeup other than my Maybelline BB cream. I'm hunting for a good sheer/medium coverage foundation, blush, and concealer for that day! I know it's a lot of product recommendations but I would appreciate any help! My skin has some dry patches around my mouth and I can sometimes have an oily T-zone. I have a small amount of acne but I would mostly want a foundation that evens out my skin tone and hides any small blemishes. I have tan skin and dark brown hair.  Thanks!
