Laura Mercier Hydrating Primer
I recently received a sample and wore this primer underneath my chanel foundation (which i use on special occasions). I noticed that when i took a picture with a flash, my face was completely white which has never happened. I didn't think a primer could do that so i wore it again last night under a darker shade of foundation and my face was still white in photo's. Normally i use smashbox's primer so i'm definitely going back unless there's a better one someone can recommend?? I am ALWAYS in pictures. Need this problem fixed haha

What is your favorite indie brand(s)?
Hey ladies and gents!   I'm always on the hunt for new brands to explore.   I love supporting smaller companies that are female and/or minority owned. (the ones you share don't have to be)   What are your favorite indie brands?  Makeup, beauty, body care, clothes etc?     I've loved oyin handmade for YEARS since they started in 1999/2000 or so.  They have really grown and are now available in target stores in some areas.   I also love bake shop butters (the owner is so sweet) she just got married so her shop is closed for now, but her body butters are WONDERFUL and smell so good.   Toni Daley makes some AMAZING jewelry!  I have some of her earrings and any time I wear them someone always asks me where I got them.   Rachel Stewart also make some incredible pins and earrings.

Urban Decay Vice Limited will be on the UD site Dec 4
Sorry if someone already posted this...   December 4, 1:00 Am pst on the Urban Decay website.   My video review if anyone is interested. I really like it…lots of light shades and more of the old style UD shimmer (so not all will agree).  Reminds me a little of the Nars Dual intensity shadows.

StillGlamorus Cosmetics
Has anyone tried products from StillGlamorus Cosmetics before? (I know glamorous isn't spelled correctly, btw, it's how the owner spells it.) I placed an order on May 2 from their web site for some pigments and haven't received a shipping confirmation or my order yet. I tried using their online Contact Us to ask for help and got no reply. I texted the number and the person responded pretty quickly asking for my name. Then I didn't hear anything else. I looked on the Facebook page for StillGlamorus today and noticed Kasey (the owner and YouTube beauty personality) had created an e-mail address to address concerns. But I'm really getting kinda pissed. I've paid money and have no product. And even if/when it does arrive, I have no idea what the quality will be like. Do any of you have experience with this brand?

Brands You'll Never Buy/Hate?
The Lime Crime thread got me thinking, I don't know a whole lot about the companies I buy from, beyond what I can dig up on my own while reading reviews or looking for swatches. What other companies (let's keep them beauty related only, or we'll be here all year) would you never buy from, and why? Are there any you refused to try for a long time but have since changed your mind on?   Mine are:   1. Lime Crime (totes obvs, right) 2. Sigma -- I genuinely don't care whether they have a good product or not, but if I hear one more YTer say "I'm using Sigma #XX, I'll link it below" I will smack someone. I feel like they have over-saturated the online beauty community with affiliates and hidden sponsorships to the point that I just have no desire whatsoever to try anything from them. Ever. 3. Kat Von D - just don't like her, so I'm not giving her my money. 4. CoastalScents - sort of the same as Sigma, but I did buy several glosses from them a few years ago and the colors and quality were just way sub-par, even if they weren't expensive. 5. Savina - I bought two polishes from a Nordstrom Rack to try out and they were SO AWFUL that I vowed never to buy another one, not even if it looked gorgeous. 6. Enkore - same thing, bought a few eyeshadows and they were so awful I'll never buy anything from him again. I think he even quit producing eyeshadows, so I clearly wasn't alone in my dislike for them. 7. Any and all celebrity-backed perfumes. I think I have one bottle of J.Lo's Glow from back in the day (and it does smell lovely), but again it's that over saturation of the market that turns me off. I feel like I see Britney Spears/Jessica Simpson/Justin Bieber/One Direction fragrances in every single drugstore or discount store I go to.   One I Changed My Mind On: Glamglow! When their stuff first came out, it was SO EXPENSIVE and had so much hype that I was immediately skeptical. I think I tried one foil of the black mask and the flakes inside of it annoyed me to the point of dismissing the brand entirely. When the SeasonSet sample bag arrived, I pulled the Thirstymud sample out and it popped on me! The crimped end of it had blown apart and it was all over my hands.. and it smelled so good.. so I figured, better to smear it on my face and see what was up, rather than wash it down the drain. I'm glad I did; my skin was suuuuuuper soft, like crazy soft, when I washed it off. It also stayed really soft even after I washed with cleanser, and I felt like it was still pretty soft in the morning. I've got a trip coming up to cooler temperatures in the desert soon so I found another foil sample of it in my sample stash and ordered the kit before the VIBR sale ended, to have some on hand.   ETA: I hope no one takes offense to any of this stuff, it's just makeup. I'm positive there will be someone out there who dislikes a brand I like, so no hurt feelings.

Is MAC worth the hype?
I watch a lot of YouTube beauty videos and everyone always raves about how amazing MAC is, so I always assumed it was fabulous. After reading around on here for the last few months I've noticed a lot of people say that it is not that great. I know YouTube isn't the best place to find accurate product reviews, but is MAC as great as the gurus make it out to be? I planned on buying all of my holiday makeup at MAC this year because I thought everything would end up being amazing, but now I'm kind of doubting that. I tried a lipgloss and pressed pigment form them, but I don't think that those purchases are enough for me to make an accurate judgement about the brand. Lip gloss is lip gloss to me, and the shadow was a highlight shade so it's nothing fancy. Anyone have any input on whether or not I should splurge on MAC?

Your best eyebrow product
I feel like my looks aren't complete until my eyebrows are done and a lot of you probably feel the same way. I was looking at threads but it's mostly 'what can I use to so and so, and this causes this and that' type of deal.   I use several products for different things.I recently discovered the PERFECT product for a natural brow, and well for a more polished brow I have a favorite one as well, so let's begin.    What brow products are your HG?   Natural brow - Giorgo Armani Eye and Brow maestro Defined brow - (For a dark brown I use UD brow box and set it with abh  tinted gel) Defined brow - (for a black brow I just use any matte black eyeshadow)     Now t hat I've listed my products.. I have both wenge wood and jet black for the GA and I thought that the black would be a bit too dramatic (my thoughts before trying it on) but WOW, it actually keeps my brow looking as thick as i want it and natural. Seriously. This product is foolproof.    If I were to suggest any products to anyone, it'd be the ones I listed (ud brow box and GA). I still wnt to try the brow zing from benefit though.

Disney Makeup/Orlando Shopping
In less than a month I'll be going to Disney. Last time I was there I noticed Disney rolling out makeup geared more towards adults. Has anyone tried anything from Disney's revamped makeup line? Anything good? Worthwhile? Collectible?    Additionally, I'll be spending most of my days shopping (my husband will be at a conference) so are there any hidden gems I should know about? I'll obviously hit up the two outlet malls in Orlando, but is there anything glorious between St. Pete/Tampa and Orlando?   Feel free to throw out your favorite food spots as well. I have some favorites (Yellow Dog Eats and 4Rivers) but I'm always looking for new places.   Also pictures. I like memes, gifs, and photoshop masterpieces. Don't care if they have anything to do with Disney or not.   For your help, I shall offer you this VERY realistic picture of what some BT members would look like if they were on the teacups with me.

Popular Make-Up Brand Word Association
Okay, since this is a Sephora board, I'm sticking with the popular brands of make-up that are sold at Sephora.   What words, terms, concepts do you associate with the following brands? It doesn't matter if your associations are logical, rational or completely batsh!t crazy - what do YOU think of when you think of the following brands?    I'll do mine in a separate post to keep things clean for copy/paste purposes.   Anastasia Beverly Hills -   Bare Minerals -   BECCA -   Benefit -   BITE -   Bobbi Brown -   Buxom -   Clinique -  Cover FX -  Dior -  Estee Lauder -  Givenchy -  Guerlain -  Hourglass -  Kat Von D -  Lancome -  Laura Mercier -  MAKE UP FOR EVER -  Marc Jacobs -  NARS -  Smashbox -  Stila -  Tarte -  Too Faced -  Urban Decay -  YSL -  I think I got almost all of the common ones talked about on this board... but if you don't have any thoughts on any of them, feel free to leave them blank or ? or whatever... it's just for fun to see how people view things differently!    Also it's Friday and this is definitely a fun time-killer and a version of a Friday Questions!

I LOVE makeup... but I'm not allowed to wear it!
I have a major obsession with makeup. I would literally spend all of my money at Sephora. There is just one problem. I can't wear nearly any makeup! Here is a complete list of what I'm allowed to wear: mascara- If my mother can't see it lippies, in most colors except reds (pinks, neutrals, and berries)  neutral eyeshadow for special occasions only maybe blush for special occasions but very little This is a very sad list- at least for my makeup obsessed mind. I want to browse the aisles of each and every Sephora, with a perfectly made up face. I love makeup so much. My mom, although she is wonderful, doesn't see eye to eye with me on this. I view makeup as a form of freaking ART ON MY FACE! It's awesome.  Do you, my fellow beauty lovers, have any tips on how to convince my parents to let me wear makeup? Do you guys have any similar stories? Ideas, mutual support, anything is appreciated.

Josie Maran Cleansing Oil doesn't remove makeup
I recently bought a set that includes a Josie Maran argan oil, cleansing oil, and argan oil moisturizer. The argan oil and moisturizer exceeded my expectations and I am really loving those two products, but I have not been able to get the cleansing oil to work. I used to use a cleanser from Neutrogena because it easily removed all of my makeup; I just used my ring fingers to very gently graze over my skin with this product and it would easily remove everything. But it really irritated my skin. With the Josie Maran one I have to really tug and stretch my skin to make it remove my makeup, and even when I do this it still only removes about 40% of my face makeup (and all I wear is face powder, bronzer, and blush), but it really agrees with my skin. Does anyone have any tips on how to make this remover a bit more effective? I really love how it agrees with my skin so well so I don't want to waste it.

What Is Your Makeup Sweet Spot?
Beauties, when you apply your makeup for the day, when is the point that you are happiest with it?     I know some love the look of freshly applied makeup, but I personally feel the best about my makeup after it has had an hour or two to "set" and warm up against my skin.  I never really gave this much thought until I started participating in the WAYWT thread, and noticed it because I take those pictures right after I'm done applying makeup, but I always feel like my makeup ends up looking better later on.   What about you?  Does your makeup have a sweet spot?

Sephora Harmony Trio? Replacement highlighter/luminizer?
Hi Everyone!   Sephora used to sell a highlighter/luminizer set called the 'Harmony Trio'.  I had bought the item a few times over the years and loved it.  I accidentally took the one I had on vacation with me over the weekend and it BROKE in my checked bag! You'd think baggage handlers would be more considerate of the fact that I had fragile makeup in my suitcase Anyways, I checked the website as soon as I got back so I could order another and they're no longer sold.  I'm heartbroken.  Does anyone else have a recommendation for a powder highlighter set?  The palette I used had three colors: a peachy tone, rose, and white which I used as both eye shadow and for highlighting.  They were really pigmented which was awesome.  Thanks!

Newsflash Sephora: This is why you should give us free stuff
We've talked about this before, but I thought I'd give Sephora a friendly reminder as to why they, and makeup companies, should shower us with deluxe samples.   Never would I have allowed myself to even think about Dior quints, $60 for a small eyeshadow palette isn't something I could justify. Well that resolve lasted a whole 10 seconds after using the mini quint (came with the Dior mascara, but some of y'all got it as a promo).   And so with one mini baby version of a shadow quint you got me to spend $60x2, and that's just the start of this obsession.   Samples are also what got me to buy and love Better than Sex, Lights Camera Lashes, Nirvana White, C'est la Vie, Bright Crystal, UD Liar, Hourglass Child, Bite Musk, Porefessional, HG Veil primer, Nars eyeshadow primer, etc etc. I could go on and on and on. Reallly.    Unfortunately most of these samples I bought myself, now you're lucky I'm a mini lover and go out of my way to buy little things, which make me love the bigger versions, but for those non mini lovers, you really should consider just making it rain samples. At least for the products that are worth it like the GG masks, or things you know people will fall in love with.   Except Orgasm. The world has spoken and they're over it. Really. Stop
