What's in for spring?

I haven't seen too much on what makeup looks are going to be in for spring except for the natural looks, which never goes out of style (thank goodness). Google and Bing aren't giving me much.

These are great suggestions! I wanted to add that I also love reading beauty blogs -- my favorites are probably Café Makeup, The Beauty Look Book, Karla Sugar (excellent for real images of products) and Temptalia. :smileyhappy: I also can't get enough of Lisa Eldridge -- while she doesn't always specifically cover trends, her videos are outstanding and cover tons of interesting topics -- from why dark circles occur to how to pull off certain looks. :smileyhappy:

Thanks, everyone.

I always like when"power brows" are in since mine are naturally black. I never have to buy any of those brow enhancing pencils or kits. Not crazy about orange makeup, though. Loving the nude eye, though. Need to see if I have anything in my current makeup collection or if I have an excuse to hit up Sephora in the near future.

Oh and I also realized why I couldn't find anything on Google or Bing: I typed in 2102 for the year instead of 2012. LOL oops. Well, if they could predict makeup trends that far ahead and I live to be 124 years old, it would've worked.

One of the easiest ways to find out the spring trends is to visit the official websites for your favorite makeup or fashion brands. The majority of sites have updated to display and offer their spring collections.  More Natural and fresh looks are prevalent this spring.

Light color/natural eye (easy on the liner and light mascara) and the bright/bold lips-  Bobbi Brown Neons & Nudes; Smashbox; NARS

Flushed cheek:  Givenchy

Light/fresh (some remind me of watercolors) eyes soft lips - Dior, MAKE UP FOR EVER, Shu Uemura, YSL, Armani Beauty

Influences of wearable pinks, oranges with eye makeup:  Shu Uemura, Chanel, Anna Sui

I've seen quite a bit of nail polish varieties in colors that remind me of spring flowers.  I have a feeling that a noticeable manicure is also fashionable -Chanel April May June; Sephora by OPI, OPI, Shu Uemura, Dior, Laura Mercier, Butter London, etc.

Red eye makeup - runway(s), NARS trio palette

Interesting random spring collection:  Paul & Joe.

I am more than likely missing out on tons of brands.  I hope what I have provided is sufficient enough.  (:

Re: What's in for spring?

Well said @ran8, I usually find out what's hot in fashion and makeup by skipping through my favorite magazines. Everything that has been listed already is spot on. Some other things that are hot are long nailes filed to a point, nude eyeliner, renaissance flushed cheeks (when blush is applied just below the cheekbones), jewel tones, pastels, and earthy tones. Very feminine and natural looks are going to be very big this season.

Whimsically yours,
Janine

Hi Shyvicki,

According to the article on shine.yahoo.com posted on 01/27/12 titled "7 Spring Makeup Trends to Look Forward To", here are the trends it states:

1) Different Shades of Red Lips

2) Power Brows

3) The Cat Eye

4) Soft Metallics

5) Rosebud Lips

6) Extreme Smokey Eye

7) Sun-Splashed Cheeks

Also, check out Allure.com and Sephora TV, they always have trends for the seasons.

Hope this helps! :smileyvery-happy:
