Re: What is TSB?
TSB stands for "Travelling Sephora Box".
Users have put together goodie boxes that get mailed from user to user where you can take out what you like and replenish the box with products from your collection before mailing it off to another user.
These boxes are not covered or regulated by Sephora so the company is in no way responsible or liable for them as there have been instances where boxes have been lost during shipping and even select items break or get damaged during the shipping and handling process. These boxes also may have their own particular set of rules/guidelines that may vary from one another.
Re: What is TSB?
The purpose of the box is for users and beauty enthusiasts here to essentially clear their stash and even try new products. Many users either have multiples of an item, products purchased that they won't get to use, or have products that they've changed their minds on and rather than toss them or have them go to waste, they get put into a TSB so another user can get a chance to use/try them. It allows users to trade and swap products on a more massive manner and normally the last person who ends up with the items donates them to a shelter or local organization that takes goods/donations.
Since the rules/guidelines can vary, I'd suggest checking into the actual TSB threads and reading through what they cover. The majority of them will require a balanced trade, for example, if you take out 3 products, you have to put 3 in, or at least make it balanced by monetary value in which if you remove one item, lets say a perfume that costs $65, you need to place at least $65 worth of product back into the box whether that's in the form of one item or several. Tracking is also crucial, communication between users next in line is important and tracking numbers/information is shared to ensure the next user can best anticipate their delivery. Boxes will also have rules in regards to what is/is not allowed, some boxes will only allow for new items, while some may not accept "home made" samples, or some will take gently used/tried make up but it has to clearly be marked with whether it was "just swatched"/"tried 1-2x"/"tried and color didn't match/flatter".
Again, the boxes can vary, for example, some are for foil packets/samples while others are for full sized/actual product. Some may require you to have a certain title/name next to your screen name (for example a "HOF TSB" is for "Hall of Famers" only) or will only consider participants with "x" amount of hearts and participation in Beauty Talk.
