Trying on different makeup at sephora...?

[ Edited ]

Ok so in 2 days my school is going to NYC for a field trip. We have a shopping block and a bunch of my friends and I want to go to the times square sephora. I've been to different sephoras in the past but am unsure on one thing. I want to get good blend-able face makeup ( foundation etc) and also find a way to make my eyes pop. I know to get a makeover it costs $50 but I don't want a makeover just to try on a few products. So would trying to find a good foundation/concealer and a way to make my eyes pop be considered a makeover? Would it cost any money? (I'm planning on buying some products)

All the above posters have accurately answered your question! :smileyhappy: Luckily, Sephora experts in store will take the time, at no charge, to help you find your exact shade in concealer or foundation OR ANY cosmetic you're looking for! :smileyhappy:

I had just walked into the store and asked the first SA I saw (she was really talkative and really helpful).  I had gone a little early in the morning so there wasn't a lot of people.  The girl that helped me stayed with me for about 20 mins-30mins and she tried on a foundation with 2 different primers, a blush, a luminizer, and a lip color.  I did buy everything she put on but I hadn't made an appointment.  The only thing I asked her was to kind of show me how to apply blush as a contour and she explained it to me.

Hi pinkgemstone,

Beautytester is correct, I totally agree with her :smileywink:

If you can get an idea of what sort of coverage you'd like and are familiar with your skin type you can absolutely ask a cast member at the store to find a match for you and even give you a few samples. If you are not ready to purchase just then you can just try your samples and then order online. You can even do a quick express service to match your foundation and concealer and those are totally free. Have fun at the store!

Well, if you want help to find your ideal make up product and advice on what you want to buy, it's not a make over and they should help you. If you want to learn how to apply make up, like a lesson, or let them do your make up for you, like a make up artist for prom etc, that is a makeover and comes with $50.

If you do want a make over (beauty lesson, a new look), I think you might need to make an appointment. Also, I think somebody mentioned that you can get $50 giftcard and it also qualifies you for a makeover? if not, well, you mentioned you are going to buy some products.
