The Highlight Challenge

[ Edited ]

Not to generalize, but I think it's fair to say a lot of us on BeautyTalk have a slight obsession when it comes to highlighter. For me, my highlight is the finishing touch before running out the door. Some days I aim for a natural look and other days I want to look like a glistening unicorn and I know I'm not alone. Many of us have a lot of love for each of our highlighters so it's time to show them off!

Now, onto the challenge: From March 13th- April 14th let's give our highlighters some love each day by sharing details in this thread. I encourage you to get creative and be experimental with your product and technique. There are many highlight formats (liquid, powder, balms, etc.) and you can play around with the intensity of your highlight as well. Share as much or as little as you'd like, including pictures, swatches, products, tools and your favorite tips.

Can't wait to see your lustrous highlight looks!

Going subtle today with Chosungah 22's Raybeam Highlighter in Pink Glow. I love the packaging since the top has a mirror that doesn't get dirty and you press down to pump out a tiny bit of product at a time. Apparently this can be used as a base under foundation, has anyone else tried this product?

Re: The Highlight Challenge

Its almost the last day of our Highlight Challenge! Heres my glowy highlight look today, thanks to Sephora Collection's Beauty Amplifier Afterglow!

I use Sephora Collection Beauty Amplifier Afterglow Primer & Luminizer alone as my primer and over top my cheekbones after foundation! Hope you like it and feel free to ask any questions about highlighters!d2h.jpg

Re: The Highlight Challenge

Oh it looks very natural like a glowy complexion instead of a obvious highlight.

Yea, its more of an all over glow! If I want to intensify it, I add powder highlighter to the high points of my face and then I get a really luminous finish!

Re: The Highlight Challenge

I feel my skin is way tooo oily for highlighter any advice ? =)

Re: The Highlight Challenge

@vero24205  I have crazy oily skin, too, but luckily since a little glow is in style, I honestly don't feel as self-conscious about it any more.

I recommend using a good matte primer - I really like the NARS Pore and Shine Control or Tarte Poreless Mattifying Primers.  I also recommend a more matte foundation if you use one (I use EL Double Wear), but I often mix liquid highlighter like Cover FX into my foundation.

I lock everything in with powder and then add on some bronzer, blush and highlight.  I prefer powder highlighters (although cream stick highlighters are awesome for touchups during the day).

Good luck!

I love the ABH Nicole Guerriero Glow Kit SO much! Today I'm wearing Forever Young but I usually mix the shades depending on my mood (and pastiness). I like to use the Sephora PRO featherweight blending brush (93), which works just as well as a fan brush.

This palette has been at my desk for a couple weeks and I end up putting it on almost every day, I just can't resist! This is one of my favorites when it comes to intense shimmer highlights.

Re: The Highlight Challenge

This looks so amazing!  the ABH X NG Glow Kit is awesome.  (Really, any Glow Kit by ABH is awesome!)   @KatieBT

Re: The Highlight Challenge

@Tamara76 this is my first Glow Kit but I'm starting to understand the obsession Smiley Very Happy Here we go...

Re: The Highlight Challenge

Been slacking on posts because I've been in spring cleaning overdrive lately. This is from a week or so ago. Please excuse the red nose & face, I'd had a long day in an overheated building.

Here is Chanel Plissé Lumiere. Sometimes it looks subtle, sometimes it's BAM! And it is so so pretty with its embossed surface. I'm quite happy with it.
