The Highlight Challenge

[ Edited ]

Not to generalize, but I think it's fair to say a lot of us on BeautyTalk have a slight obsession when it comes to highlighter. For me, my highlight is the finishing touch before running out the door. Some days I aim for a natural look and other days I want to look like a glistening unicorn and I know I'm not alone. Many of us have a lot of love for each of our highlighters so it's time to show them off!

Now, onto the challenge: From March 13th- April 14th let's give our highlighters some love each day by sharing details in this thread. I encourage you to get creative and be experimental with your product and technique. There are many highlight formats (liquid, powder, balms, etc.) and you can play around with the intensity of your highlight as well. Share as much or as little as you'd like, including pictures, swatches, products, tools and your favorite tips.

Can't wait to see your lustrous highlight looks!

I love the idea of Halo combined with Amethyst, and it looks lovely on you, @KatieBT

OMG Yesss so pretty!!! When Candace  posted her look with the halo drops we had a little discussion of how awesome the becca amethyst would look over it and you did just that! Now I know how it looks layered, thank you @KatieBT!! 🦄🌈

Re: The Highlight Challenge

Just got this one in the mail today and Swatched on my daughter's arm. These are pretty though way more metallic /frosty than I prefer but I can use a light hand or end up using them as eyeshadows 😉

Re: The Highlight Challenge

Saw this at the end of the day.  Here's what's left of my highlighted cheeks...I think the nose shined brighter 😊

Becca's Opal, after 9.5 hours. I think it began to fade right after lunch, so full shine for about 6 hours.

I have to use my Opal!! I was staring at it yesterday. That used to be my fave! <3

Re: The Highlight Challenge

Today I was feeling the grey's and pinks, so used ABH Star from the Moonchild palette on my cheekbones and undereye.

It was glorious Smiley Happy

Re: The Highlight Challenge

Can I ask you guys about preferred highlighter application? I want to try to get a glowy/dewy look, but I generally end up with more of a sparkly/glittery look. I don't necessarily mind it and sometimes I want an all out sparkly look, but I want the option of going more subtle sometimes. I generally use matte and full coverage foundation/powder so that might be the problem, but I was wondering how you guys get that lit from within look. Thanks Smiley Happy

Re: The Highlight Challenge

Have you tried mixing a liquid illuminator with your foundation. Do you spray your face with a mist after applying your makeup?
