Thought I'd start a thread just for Viseart since so many of us LOVE them.

I love to encourage a small brand as opposed to a brand where you pay for the name. The eye shadow quality can't be beat!

Saw this on Facebook a while back and thought I'd add it here.

A 12 color Viseart Eyeshadow Palette is $80 USD (before pro discount). Each eyeshadow pan is 2 grams and valued at approx. $6 ($3.00 per gram).

MAC has reduced the price of their single eyeshadows refills from $10 USD to $6 USD each. So 12 colors at the new reduced price would be $72 USD (before pro discount). Add the $8 USD empty palette to store them and we're back to $80 USD.

EXCEPT: Each MAC eyeshadow pan is only 1.3 grams ($4.62 per gram). You're getting only 15.6 grams of product, as opposed to the 24 grams of eyeshadow in the Viseart palette. That's a loss of over 8 grams of product.

FINAL ANALYSIS:
It would cost $119 USD for MAC to duplicate the Viseart palette (24 grams of MAC eyeshadow at $4.62 per gram and $8 for the palette).

If I'd known the Ribbons Boheme would still be available (they made such a fuss as to how limited it was) I probably would have waited for this. I ordered this last time with another two palettes, the brushes are ok but I wouldn't let it sway you as to whether to buy or not.

I had to check to see if they were powder or cream...DANGIT they are powder nowI must have them.  I am a purple and orange fiend!  I plan to use them as eye shadows.  I'm so weak right now!

I love the Neutral Mattes palette, so when I ordered the Paris Nudes, I was so disappointed. I did not like the consistency and texture of the satin eyeshadows. The Bijoux Royal palette has gorgeous colors that I definitely want, but I hope that the texture is as smooth as in the picture.

@volta I think the Paris Nudes palette was formulated to be very muted color-wise. I also feel like they apply much more sheerly than shimmers and satins from other Viseart palettes I own. I know I can certainly get more evenly smooth color from the Bridal palette.

I also agree with mrsbaine — I think the texture of the shadows improves the more used they become.

@volta, I have Sultry Muse and Paris Nudes. I'm not a huge fan of Paris Nudes, but I absolutely love Sultry Muse. I found with all my Viseart shadows, as I worked with them more, the texture became better. The more and more I used it, the better it becomes. I don't love the colors in Paris nudes; they are a bit too muted for me, but the formula seems similiar to the others, although I haven't used it as much. The mattes do feel a bit different. They are by far my favorite mattes.

@volta I admittedly love Viseart's satin and metallic eyeshadows, and I have Paris Nudes and find it to be a fair representation of their other satin palettes. I haven't heard of a formula change for Bijoux Royal, so I'd expect it to be similar to Viseart's other shimmers.

Is it bad that I'm waiting for this to come out on Sephora.com?? I made a pact as to no new eyeshadow palettes (which I'm trying super hard to keep). I mean it has been a strugle not to go out and get the ABH Renaissance palette (so pretty!!).

While this is very lovely there are 2 totally different looking photos of swatches on the arm. Yes I know that lighting and skin tone can change the appearance of eyeshadow color nonetheless it still gives me pause as $80 is nothing to sneeze at. Plus I thought this would let me see everyone else's looks and thoughts. Is this foolish? I have the Boheme palette that I have yet to use (though it is so lovely) and I just don't want to become a crazy lady that hoards eyeshadows cause they're pretty 😄

Im waiting too but one day im gonna crack and buy all the Viseart Palettes at once. I Wait until I get 2000 points at Ulta and a 20% off and then splurge on $125 worth of free palettes that I don't need haha. But no Viseart at Ulta 😞

I know - I got the Boheme palette when they had it on sale. I think 20% off?? This was back in the fall and I got it on Muse's website. I'll just watch y'all have fun with it first 🙂
