I think you could also accomplish a similar effect using a glittery powder shadow, a synthetic brush, and some mac fix+. Spray brush with fix+ and apply the shadow wet. I do this all the time with my urban decay shadows and they come out super pigmented and really pretty.

@purly I think for the Stila ones, the chunkier ones at least (the silver, taupe, and gold) loose glitter might be closer, which is why people like them so much, you avoid the possible mess you can make when using loose glitter (I've never used it, seemed too much work). Using fix+ with eyeshadow definitely helps foil it though.

Oh cool.  I wonder if the patchiness could be concealed with a similar coloured base underneath the drugstore ones...  they're still quite beautiful.

@heartsmyface I do like the Revlon ones, they're just more tricky. I do think you can't tell very much if you have a base underneath it, the glitter is shiny enough that I think no one would notice.

Wow!!!!   That is a huge difference in quality!  I just love looking at all these swatches - glitter is totally  my favorite color! 🙂

OMG!  So beautiful!  And the Bite Peacock Shade is not nearly as mesmerizing as the Stila when they are next to each other.

(....and my eyes keep going straight back to Into the Blue...but until I get the hang of applying these shadows so I don't look like a 5 year old who just spent all her birthday money at Claire's, I can't justify buying more....Sigh.)
