Prom Makeup

My senior prom is quickly approaching, and I've been trying to figure out what I should do. My dress is pretty simple, it's a light turquoise, one shoulder, with silver beading on the shoulder.  I'm getting my hair done, though still trying to decide what I want... So any hair, makeup, and nail color suggestions?

Turquoise is one of my favorite colors and I love to wear turquoise eyeshadow and eyeliners so immediately that's what comes to mind when I think of a turquoise dress.  I think you would look great lining your eyes with a turquoise eyeliner to really make your eyes stand out or you could wear a light turquoise eyeshadow.  If you wear turquoise eye makeup, I would pair it with a nudish-pink lip.  Here are a couple of photos giving examples of what I mean by wearing a turquoise eyeliner or eyeshadow:

I think a silver nail polish would look great since your dress has silver beading and you can't go wrong with an up-do for your hair.

I hope this helps and I hope you have a wonderful time at your prom! :smileyhappy:

my friend has a blue dress as well. i think your best bet would be to not wherre blue eyes shadow. to much blue will drown it out. i think that a sparkley silver color would look really nice. not too thick just on the lid... even if you can make it have the winged look that would be pretty :smileyhappy:

or you can go nuetral with a brown and tan and pink color. what color eyes do you have?

You have a few options with this dress. I love the ideas tenngal gave you! They're sure to make a splash.

I think Silver on your nails would look very chic. But I do like the pale pink or lavender polish idea A lot!

I'm going to use NARS eyeshadow duos to illustrate my ideas but you don't have to buy these, there are plently of dupes out there that are great!

You could go for a smokey eye using NARS duo in Brumes. Put the lighter shade on the lid and the slightly darker blue shade on the outer corner and crease and blend. put a silver highlight on the browbone and inner corner and you will have a great eye look.

You could also go with a more angelic look with Egea. if you choose to wear pale pink or Lavender nails this would be especially nice. Again sweep the lighter shade all over the lid and put the darker shade in the crease and outer corner. You could line your eyes with a teal or turqouise liner and top it off with dark blue/ navy mascara for an extra nice touch.

Other options are Habanera, Misfit and South Pacific.

I think that a pale pink blush would be really pretty with any of these lucks and Benefit's High Beam would look especially pretty as a highlight : http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P1281&categoryId=B70

Good Luck!
