Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

Fun! I want to go! If only I lived anywhere close!

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

My nude video, for those interested.  Wearing it and swatched

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

So VIBRouges and VIB's only got early access to this for one day? I was going to buy the golden today but it looks like I have to try on May 10th.

I'm still unsure about whether I should also get the nude as well. I'm a Mac NC42 so I don't know how well it would show up as a highlighter on me.

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

Oh that's weird/disappointing. I totally thought it was available for VIB/R *beginning* on May 2. I didn't realize it was *only* on May 2. On the bright side, there should be plenty of reviews for you to make an educated decision before the 10th!

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

I really want to try this but not sure its worth $75.

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

I don't know if you caught it earlier, @makeitup305, but if you're curious about the price you can try to break it down for the entire kit.

This includes a brush (I find it HQ and can definitely use this for multiple things), pigment (I don't have the amount on-hand, but it's a decent amount - especially for how little you need), and a highlighter stick & balm stick, both of which can be used independently. When I wasn't sure if this was worth it, I looked at the prices of brushes & highlighter sticks. A nice brush is pretty pricy, and then most of the stick highlighters I was looking at were 30-40$ on their own.

Breaking down the components, I think for what you get, 75$ is a pretty fair price. Your mileage may vary though, based on how you use highlighters!

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

@frametheface thanks for that. It probably is worth that not sure if I would get that amount out of it. I am super curious about it though. I wish I could swatch it in store!

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

I'm interested in buying just the wand and not the pigment if anyone wants to trade or sell, please message me

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

I am also wearing nude pigment today.  I had tried it on quickly yesterday and was not super impressed, but I like it more today.

So a little goes a long way?

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

I like!!

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

You look gorgeous!

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

Thank you @lipstick4soul! ❤️

Have you gotten the chance to play with your's yet?

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

I actually think it's a fabulous look on you! Was this just the pigment or pigment layered over one of the other products? So pretty! (Your lip color is also amazing.)

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

Thanks @frametheface! I did the balm + highlight + pigment combo :).

Ah, that's Tom Ford Revolve Around Me mixed with Aphrodite :P.

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

Loooove it! I think you applied a great amount ;).  I like that from the front it's subtle and then when you shift your face, it's like BAM but in a good way BAM!

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

Thanks @sabrinas 😄

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

Got mine! I got both. Too dark out for some swatches but I'll give my first impressions.  @meganlisa @pixiedust2 I think you wanted to know what I thought.

So I don't know what to think... I know I could pass up that bag full of sequins and glitter... It's kinda messy. I thought the pigment itself would be bigger and for some reason when I am handling it I feel like I might drop it. I just don't like the packaging all that much...  I also thought it might be a dupe for my fav and long discontinued MAC products but it's not. The balms seem pretty but I'll have to play more with them. They aren't the reason why I bought these.  I bought them for the pigments. So I really wish they would have sold the items separately. I thought I would prefer the gold but I think I am loving the nude more. It's has this pink/red/lilac flash and it's really pretty.  The nude is more iridescent and the gold more glittery... it's very very fine but I find it's more glittery than the nude. They are nice and soft and seem to swatch and mix well so far (with what I played with on the back of my hand) I also see these pigments as being very versatile. I have a few ideas in mind, I just have to play more. I also don't think I own a dupe for these. I might have some stuff that is close but it won't give off the same effect.

Hope this along with all the other wonderful reviews/pictures can help some people decide if they want to purchase or not.

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.  I haven't swatch-compared them yet, but when I swatched the nude pigment this morning, it strongly reminded me of NARS Cassiopeia.

I like the look of the packages of sequins and sparkles, but I hate the actuality of it; such a mess.

The thing I thought I was going to be meh about (balm) is actually my favorite part of the kit.  I'm most meh about the brush as mine has a very chemically smell.

I quickly applied all 3 before I went out to run errands, but I need to play with it some more before I make up my mind about it.

The funny thing is I bought one kit for me and one for a girlfriend who was having issues getting onto the site.  Hers is the gold, but after swatching my nude, I have a feeling she's going to want to switch with me, LOL.
