Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

@HoneydewK It doesn't absorb immediately but I can maybe (maybe) get it to show 2 hours.  It does make the powder look less glittery and smoother (it's smooth and finely milled anyway but works better with the balm).  I also feel like the powder looks more pink alone, a touch more peach over the balm.

But wearing the balm alone is supposed to be the most subtle option...and on me it does absorb.

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

Urgh. I really want the balm (I mean, it's the "real" glow!), but maybe I should try some moisture sticks available in the market. I think the balm itself may work with other highlighter you own.

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

@HoneydewK I have a golden set I don't really want....totally unopened...with the glitter in the bag intact  Send me a PM if you're interested.

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

FYI for those who haven't received their order. I got my order in during the early access hour and did receive an immediate confirmation but never received any shipping or tracking notices. So since it seemed that many of you have already received your orders I started to get worried. Late last night I sent an email to customer service and received a very pleasant prompt response early this morning which included 2 tracking numbers (I made one order but with one of each color). Mine were shipped out last Wednesday and due to arrive next Tuesday (all within the US). Wow long time right? but happy to know they are on the way Smiley Happy

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

@PaletteAddict99 I'm not sure why, but I don't think her website sends out shipment notifications.

This is now the 3rd product I've ordered from them, and I've never received any sort of heads up that it's on the way.

Their CS is amazing, though.

@Mochapj Good to know and yes they are so very polite and prompt. I wonder why they split it up into two shipments.

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

I was breaking down a box for recycling and I noticed it said "golden" in a corner.  I think that they have all the products packed up and sealed and just slap shipping labels on them once they're sold to speed up the shipping process.

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

smart idea / makes sense

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

Ok I got my nude and got to swatch it!! It was SO hard to capture the pigment and how beautiful it actually is! In my photo, from top to bottom there's Colourpop's Monster, Nude pigment, balm, Nude cream highlighter.  I think that it is quite similar to Monster but the difference is that Monster is thicker and feels more cakey, also it has a white base, while the Nude pigment is very finely milled and has a clear base.  Also, the Nude pigment reflects a LOT more! It really is beautiful! I'm going to cave and try to get the gold one on Monday!pigment.jpg

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

Pretty! Can't wait for mine!

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

Mini Review!

I wore the golden color today.  I first applied the highlighter end, then dabbed on the balm and then stippled on the pigment.  A little goes a LOOOOOONG way.  I applied it the same way as I do my other highlighters, but I caught my reflection in a car mirror and holy cow I was bright.  It didn't emphasize my pores at all, which I love. And there's still some on my face almost 10 hours later and after walking in the rain.

The only cons that I can think of is how little product is in the highlighter/balm stick.  I twisted it all the way up and it's barely the length of my thumbnail.  The pigment is a decent(ish) size.  It's .02oz smaller than a Laura Geller highlighter (e.g. Gilded Honey)

That being said, the highlighter did magical non-pore emphasizing things to my face so I am happy with my purchase!

Good to know! Thanks Smiley Happy

Closer look at the balm (far right):

The balm smells like vanilla.  Despite the gray skies, I think the colors are pretty accurate, except the pink pigment is more intense in person. It actually looks purplish to me, so I'm not sure about how natural that one will be on.  The golden pigment looks more wearable.  But we're not exactly going for natural by layering three highlights.

I might try one on each cheek tonight to see which color I like better because I want to wear one of them tomorrow when I go out to lunch and bridesmaids dress shopping.

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

Thank you for the swatches!!!! Oh my, the gold is really gold Smiley Very Happy I wonder why both look so white in the pan.

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

[ Edited ]

Thanks for the swatches! The gold looks more gold in some of these pictures than the swatches she posted where it looks like a white/gold highlight.  Glad it smells like vanilla because it's one scent I know I can handle Smiley Wink  Thanks @kso1225 Smiley Happy

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

Same here - I'm very sensitive to scents and vanilla is always safe for me. I could smell the balm when I applied it to my arm.

The gold is definitely quite gold on me. When I think white gold I think Becca Moonstone (and that's closer to the promo swatches). The golden pigment looks quite white in the pan too, but both the stick and pigment swatch gold. My forearms are quite fair though so they show undertones easily.

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

Thanks for the info!  I'd have to show you a swatch of what I mean when I say white/gold.  I have an old MAC product that's exactly that. I'll try and swatch it later to show you... it's white but with a gold shift?  Always so hard to explain lol

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

[ Edited ]

This is what I mean when I say white/gold.  This is a vintage product from MAC and by far one of my all time favorite line.  There's a few more colors like a white with pink/purple shift (which I love just as much) and they also had a foundation (was my fav foundation ever!).  I tried to capture the shift as much as possible. I was hoping the Pat McGrath's gold could be similar. I haven't come across anything that beats this. Hoping one day MAC will bring it back.

Heavy swatch on left, somewhat blended on right... I just wanted the shift to show up well in pics. Direct sunlight. (my skin was a bit red that day Smiley Sad )

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

I went with the free shipping option and both of my packages came today (sometime between 1:30-5PM central). If it's relevant to anyone wanting to estimate their ETA: I'm in the chicagoland area.

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

UPDATE!

I emailed Pat Mcgrath's CS and told them about my situation and also wished they had offered the products on Sephora Canada or at the very least offer USPS shipping.  I was hoping for a reply that they'd look into that for future releases but instead I got an email back with an apology and partial refund! They paid my shipping and duties and said they made sure I wouldn't get duties on the second package. OMFG now that's what I call customer service!  I sure hope they look into the suggestions I made for future release... because I'll want to buy more stuff. Great CS is a sure way to keep me buying! Now I can't wait to get them Smiley Happy  Looks like Monday for me!

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

Oh that's great!  I was super peeved on your behalf.  I'm so glad to hear they're taking care of it!
