Favorite makeup removing towelettes?

I've used Burt's Bees Facial Towelettes w/ White Tea Extracts, Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towelettes and Korres' Milk Proteins Cleansing Wipes.  Love the first and last for different reasons.  Just wondering what ya'll thought about them, fav brands, least favorites, etc.  Thanks!

Re: Favorite makeup removing towelettes?

I have used different makeup remover towelettes. I do like the Neutragena blue bag ones. However, I did find they did not remove the eye makeup quite as well as some of the reviews I read. The makeup on the face seemed to come off with ease, although i dont wear heavy foundation. I think MAC has great makeup remover towelettes.

Hi Mightlyclassy07,

My favorite make up removing wipes are the Josie Maran Bear Naked Wipes. I find that they are extremely gentle and remove everything!

Re: Favorite makeup removing towelettes?

Never used any Josie Maran products before!  But the name alone intrigues me...  I don't think my local Sephora carries Josie Maran sadly.  (And no more Korres which makes me super sad)

Re: Favorite makeup removing towelettes?

Hey melissabt - I loved the picture on those Josie Maran Face Wipes, excellent marketing. I checked it out and it said "free of fragrance"Tthe only problem is I never remember the difference between fragrance free and unscented. Every time I think I've figured it out and tought of some trick to guarantee I will remember, I forget. duh

So, does this have any scent or fragrance at all? Which means no odor? I know one means that the product does not naturally have a smell but that they can add a fragrance/scsnt to the product. The other means that the ingredients may have an odor of some sort, although nothing is added, fragrance/scent wise. Which is no odor/scent of any kind, and does it depend on the type of product? i.e. cleansers, lip products, moisturizers etc.. Which is Which? I'm so confused.

Thanks :smileyhappy:

Re: Favorite makeup removing towelettes?

The Yes to Carrots series (cucumber and blueberry) of towelettes are nice and at a reasonable price.

Otherwise, I usually pick up either the generic brand ones or Neutrogena.  No need to be pricey when it comes to these.  Especially after having a fifteen dollar package (non bulk) of wipes felt like sandpaper and removed very little.

Re: Favorite makeup removing towelettes?

When it comes to makeup removing towelettes, I typically opt for the drugstore brands such as Ponds Original Clean Wet Cleansing  Towelettes and the Biore Makeup Removing Towelettes.  They always work in a pinch especially when I'm in a hurry or traveling.  The only high-end ones I've used are from MAC, which are very gentle and remove every trace of makeup with one wipe.

Re: Favorite makeup removing towelettes?

I have tried a bunch of makeup removing wipes such as Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towelettes, Yes to Blueberries Facial Towelettes, Neutrogena wipes, Korres Milk Protein and Make Up Removing Wipes, MAC wipes, Simple Makeup wipes, Soap and Glory wipes, E.L.F. wipes, and Boots No.7 wipes.  My favorites are MAC (it always makes my face feel refreshed and it doesn't hurt that it comes in a 100 pack), Yes to Cucumbers, and Soap and Glory.  My least favorites are Simple wipes (texture is not friendly for sensitive skin) and Neutrogena wipes.

Re: Favorite makeup removing towelettes?

Didn't even know MAC made any!  And a 100 pack no less!

I know I'm kind of late but...

Definitely MAC Wipes! They're awesome! The wipes themselves are big and they come in huge packs for a not-so-bad price! I hope you get to try them because they are worth it, especially if you have a full face of makeup you want to take off or you want to remove swatches from your arm!

Oh snap! All this chatter about MAC wipes makes me wanna try them. Especially if they come in a 100 pack.

I usually buy the Soap and Glory face wipes because they leave my skin feeling soft and things. They're pretty good for taking off my eye makeup and face makeup. But it's $10 for a pack of 25.

Better late than never!  I just started a makeup blog (cliche, no? lol) so I do need a swatch eliminator and bulk is an attractive option.  Thanks for the contribution :smileyhappy:

Re: Favorite makeup removing towelettes?

I totally agree. The MAC towelettes never left my lips or eyes feeling oily or left with makeup. I really really recommend them for on the go. Mary Kay has the best eye makeup remover around, in my opinion. I have tried so so so many different ones and I have found that they leave my contact lense wearing eyes coated with an oily feeling and so I would always wait until late at night to take off eye makeup even though I wanted to take it off IMMEDIATELY after work to possibly reapply or just hang out with no makeup on.

Re: Favorite makeup removing towelettes?

kssweetheart:  Fragrance free means it has absolutely no perfumes or scents in it whatsoever.  Unscented can and often does.   I learned this at my own expense a LONG time ago.  Sensitive skin and all that :smileywink:

What I tend to use are the Ponds original makeup remover towelettes or the Biore ones when I'm feeling lazy.  They do remove all makeup for me, although I'd LOVE it if the made a bigger pack of them instead of 30 for about $5-6 at Fred Meyer.

Re: Favorite makeup removing towelettes?

I always just use the Neutrogena wipes and they work just fine.  I ave to make decisions on what I can splurge on and what I have to be frugal about.  The wipes are something I am frugal aboout so I can buy good makeup ;-)

Re: Favorite makeup removing towelettes?

I like the Philosophy Purity Facial Wipes/Makeup Removers (not sure correct name, sorry) Most are too overly scented for me. I'm able to stomach the Philosophy Wipes when I need to.

Might have to try 'em since I've been on a kick lately :smileyhappy:
